Happy Sunday! I still can’t believe that we started August today. I don’t know about you but I always love the first day of a new month because it feels like a chance to hit the reset button.
Here’s how my workouts went this week.
Monday, July 26
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
Walk + Run 7/20/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
Extra Mile 10/17/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
LHM Celebration Ride 9/23/20 – Erik (30 minutes)
It was 2,000m Benchmark Row day at OTF. I wasn’t surprised that I didn’t PR this time. Actually, I knew about 1,000 meters in that I wouldn’t PR but I still tried to finish with a respectable time. The average finish time is between 6-10 minutes so I’m happy being right in the middle at 8:02. The rest of the class was kind of a blur since I was tired, lol.
Tuesday, July 27
LHM: Power Zone Endurance Ride 10/3/20 – Matt (30 minutes)
Cool Down Run 2/2/21 – Jess (10 minutes)
Arms Toning 2/15/21 – Cliff (10 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
LHM Celebration Run 10/9/20 – Jess K (20 minutes)
WHM Broadway Yoga Flow 3/7/21 – Kristin (30 minutes)
Even though I took the runs easy, they were hard since my legs were tired. It was a strength day at OTF and we had drop sets which are my favorite. Plus it was all upper body moves which I appreciated since my legs felt like lead.
Wednesday, July 28
WHM Celebration Run 3/13/21 – Becs (20 minutes)
Extra Mile 2/18/20 – Jess (10 minutes)
LHM Celebration Ride 9/27/20 – Kendall (30 minutes)
LHM: Listening Party Ride 10/8/20 – Emma (30 minutes)
BHM Celebration Full Body Strength 2/19/21 – Jess (30 minutes)
When I woke up I really had no desire to work out. Part of me wanted to put it off until after work, but ultimately I decided to get up and get it done. Thank goodness I did because it ended up being an insane work day due to q quick turnaround for a new project.
Thursday, July 29
Sydney Sunrise Scenic Class (10 minutes)
Bali Beach Scenic Class (10 minutes)
Sagres Forest Scenic Class (20 minutes)
Verzuz Ride 7/21/21 – Alex (45 minutes)
HIIT Cardio 12/4/19 – Jess (15 minutes)
Fit Family Fun HIIT Cardio 4/3/20 – Jess (15 minutes)
WHM Celebration Yoga Flow 3/8/21 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
My legs appreciated a day off from running, that’s for sure! I enjoyed my walks through Sydney, Bali and Sagres (again!) and it made me really want to visit these places eventually, especially Bali. The beach was SO beautiful! The Verzuz ride had a great playlist so that was fun and I enjoyed the HIIT cardio classes as I haven’t done those types of classes in a while.
Friday, July 30
HRZ Power Run 8/27/19 – Jess (45 minutes)
Arms & Shoulders Strength 9/18/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Core Strength 4/2/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
Usain Bolt 2010s Ride 7/23/21 – Hannah F (30 minutes)
Reflection Ride 7/25/21 – Christine (20 minutes)
Mood Full Body Stretch: Calm 7/28/21 – Selena (15 minutes)
I’ll probably start adding at least one 45 minute run to my schedule for the next few weeks to help with training for an upcoming virtual 10k. I like the HRZ runs because it’s really helps me to zone in on my jogging vs. running paces. The other classes were great and I the 15 minute stretch felt amazing, especially after the run.
Saturday, July 31
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
90s Walk 7/28/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
Two For One: WHM Celebration Ride 3/17/20 – Leanne & Hannah F (30 minutes)
Beginner Yoga Flow 5/2/21 – Nico (30 minutes)
I feel like I’ve done a bunch of strength classes a OTF lately but I’m okay with that. It was Harry Potter Day at the studio so my mom and I dressed up a little (tie, shirt and glasses). My coach actually got some footage (last slide) of my mom and I rowing (I didn’t even know she was filming, lol).
Sunday, August 1
Hips Stretch 12/4/18 – Christine (5 minutes)
WHM Celebration Ride 3/8/20 – Christine (60 minutes)
Full Body Strength Warm Up 4/22/21 – Jess (10 minutes)
Full Body Strength 5/1/21 – Jess (45 minutes)
Fit Family Brain Break HIIT Cardio 12/28/20 – Jess (5 minutes)
This stack was spicy! Decided to give my legs a break from running today. Somehow Jess was able to fit in an EMOM, AMRAP and Tabata section all in the last 15 minutes of class. Oh, did I mention she started off with turkish getups after the warm up? It was a hard class, but good.
Total Weekly Mileage: 14.3 miles
Summary: 10 runs*, 9 cycle, 3 yoga and 11 OTF/strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 371/373
Earlier in the week I noticed a nice sized bruise on my thigh after I was done with my workout. I vaguely remember hitting my leg on Monday or Tuesday as I was working with heavier weights at OTF, but I didn’t think I hit my leg that hard. It’s just odd because I rarely get bruises and this one kind of itches too. It’s slowly getting smaller so I hope that it’s completely gone soon.
This month I’ll start doing a few longer runs (45 minutes or more) in preparation for the Back on My Feet Running Festival 10K. I’m still not ready for in-person races, so I love that this running festival is virtual and supports a good cause. I won’t be following a particular training plan, but will still continue with my Peloton runs. It’s really more about time on my feet vs a speed goal. (If you’re interested in running, all races distances are $30 and you can use code “BibRave5!” for $5 off registration).
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

omg the lifeguard at the olympics! Too funny can you even imagine? I also love the start of a new month and the blank squares on my calendar waiting to be filled in. Another solid week for you all around. Have a great week ahead
kookyrunner says
So funny! I can’t imagine that the guy has left his post to help any swimmers, lol.
Liz Dexter says
Love that last meme! A solid week for you again. I did my last virtual today – a sort of virtual in that we ran round the park by this big old hall and then got our medals from the cafe!
kookyrunner says
Congrats on your virtual race!
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
Great week of workouts! Isn’t it weird when you get bruises and you’re not even really sure where they came from? I hope that training for your 10k goes well!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Lisa! Yes, so weird considering I very rarely get bruises. Luckily it’s pretty much gone now.
Coco says
LOL at the lifeguard. It’s good they’re there though. 😉 I did my first 6 0 min Peloton ride this week, and it was with CDE. I’ve bookmarked one of Kendall’s mix-tape rides — we’ll see if I’m ever brave enough to try. Congrats on your OTF benchmark row! As much as I miss OTF, I don’t really miss rowing, but I know because I am not good at it.
kookyrunner says
Lol, right?! I never really thought that they would have a lifeguard there but I guess it makes sense. I tend to like Kendall’s energy so I always enjoy her rides. The mix-tape one should probably be good! It’s funny – I hated rowing when I first started OTF and now I look forward to it.
Jenny says
Yep, the lifeguard thing is hilarious. Pretty much the definition of “useless!”
Love the video of you and your mom rowing in your Harry Potter clothes- so fun. How cool that you do that with your mom!
kookyrunner says
Thanks! My mom hates rowing but I have grown to love it 🙂
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
As always the memes make me smile — thanks, Kim!
I bruise REALLY easily. Most of the time I have no idea what I’ve done. They don’t usually itch though, so that’s kind of odd.
Good job getting up & at it even when you didn’t feel like it!
kookyrunner says
The Prince meme was my favorite this week, lol. Luckily my bruise is almost gone but it’s so weird. I’ll need to keep an eye out to see if it happens again.
Darlene S. Cardillo says
Great job with all your OTF and peleton workouts.
Lol. That last meme.
Good luck with your virtual 10k.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Darlene!
Jessie says
What a wonderful week! Good luck with the virtual 10k.
It’s sad how hard of time people are giving Simone. The skills they do on the vaults, etc are so so scary, I can’t imagine attempting something like that but not in 100% the right headspace. I know how much of running marathons is mental, and there’s no where near the level of risk in that sport…
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jessie! My heart goes out to Simone, especially because people that no nothing about gymnastics are now experts and feel they can weight in on what she’s going through. It’s infuriating.
Zenaida Arroyo says
The Prince meme!!! That is hilarious. You and your mom look so cute in your ties. I love how the both of you get into the spirit of dressing up.
kookyrunner says
The Prince meme is my favorite of the week, lol.
Thanks! My mom and I are always down to dress up for class.
Michelle D. says
Another great collection of memes 🙂
You had an awesome week of workouts – seriously I’m exhausted just reading all that you did! LOL
I agree with you about the start of a new month – feels like so much possibility. Here’s to a great August!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Michelle! The Prince meme was my favorite of the week, lol.
Kimberly Hatting says
Anothr solid week, dear #KimTwin! I couldn’t help notice the Usain Bolt workout in there 😉
kookyrunner says
Thanks! Lol, yes the Usain Bolt ride was humbling – he’s in such great shape.
Marcia says
It never occurred to me there’d be a lifeguard at the Olympics but I guess so! I think it’d be a great front row seat for all the action. Haha! Great week of activity for you. Ok I feel a little better about my ineptitude when it comes to screen sharing. Lol!
kookyrunner says
Right? I mean I guess it makes sense but I can’t imagine that the dude has had to leave his post yet lol.
We use Microsoft Teams at my job and I swear it has an “update” every week. Every time it does that, it changes where to find the share screen button – it’s so annoying!
Renée @runlaugheatpie says
as per usual you amaze me with your workouts! and you and your mom are AWESOME on that clip! whoo hooo!!
love the Prince meme so much!
kookyrunner says
The Prince meme actually made me laugh out loud because I’ve been in that situation lol.
Wendy says
You were awfully close to your PR on the benchmark workout! I’m so sad that I’m missing out on all the benchmark stuff at CF right now. They also did a CF triathlon that I missed out on too. BOOOO
Who knew there were lifeguards at the Olympics, lol?
kookyrunner says
Missing the benchmark row PR just made me more aware of what I need to do better next time – all a learning process!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
Starting out a workout with Turkish getups sounds intense. My clients hate me when I have them do TG’s.
That lifeguard does look bored! LOL
kookyrunner says
I low how strong I feel when I do TGs but they are so hard!
