Happy Sunday! Is anyone else still feeling the aftermath of Daylight Savings Time? Usually I get back “on schedule” after 2-3 days but I’m still all out of wack for some reason. My sleep has been non-existent/sporadic so I hope I can get back on track next week.
Monday, November 8
Warm Up Walk 8/20/19 – Chase (10 minutes)
Saturday60: 2010s Bootcamp 11/6/21 – Jess (60 minutes)
The Jess King Experience Ride 12/17/20 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Post-Ride Stretch 10/14/21 – Cliff (10 minutes)
I’m still playing catch up after missing the last few live Saturday60 bootcamps – and this was a good one! The playlist was A+ and she played a bunch of “listening games” since it was a music based class.
Tuesday, November 9
Walk + Run 11/2/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
The Jess King Experience Ride 1/7/21 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Spotify Today’s Top Hits Core Strength 11/3/21 – Olivia (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
Spotify Lofi Beats Yoga Slow Flow 11/3/21 – Nico (30 minutes)
Lots of rowing and running for the OTF class. There was also a bonus “coaches choice” core block and I’m convinced our coach was trying to kill us. Thank goodness it was only 5 minutes long. A little slow flow yoga was definitely needed after these classes.
Wednesday, November 10
Orangetheory Fitness – Power/Strength (45 minutes)
Spotify Indigo Run 11/3/21 – Matt (20 minutes)
Dance Cardio 10/7/21 – Callie & Jess K (20 minutes)
Dance Cardio Stretch 10/7/21 – Multiple Instructors (10 minutes)
We worked our legs for basically the entire OTF class – it was rough! I originally wanted to do a ride as well but I ran out of time to do it before logging into work. Plus I was pretty stiff from the OTF class and sitting all day on conference call so I decided to take a dance cardio class and stretch to loosen up. Again, these dance cardio classes provide endless entertainment for me because I’m so bad, lol.
Thursday, November 11
Warm Up Walk 7/7/19 – Selena (10 minutes)
Saturday60: Advanced Full Body Bootcamp 10/20/21 – Jess (60 minutes)
The Jess King Experience Ride 1/14/21 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Arms & Light Weights 9/30/21 – Cliff (10 minutes)
Veteran’s Day Yoga Flow 11/11/21 – Kristin (20 minutes)
Was it a good idea doing a 60 minute tread bootcamp after trashing my legs in Wednesday’s OTF workout? No, it was not…but I flexed my mental muscle to get through it. It honestly wasn’t too bad but the inclines for the running portion were pretty tough. Peloton also released a few Veterans Day classes so I decided to take the yoga class a few hours before bed.
Friday, November 12
Veterans Day Run 11/11/21 – Marcel D. (30 minutes)
Veterans Day Ride 11/11/21 – Alex (30 minutes)
Veterans Day Ride 11/11/21 – Christine (20 minutes)
Beyonce Two For One Strength 11/10/21 – Adrian & Callie (30 minutes)
I finished up the Veterans Day classes which were all great. Marcel’s playlist only featured artists that served and I learned that MC Hammer served in the Navy – who knew?! The Beyonce strength class was a lot of fun and I think it was the first time two instructors have taught a strength class together.
Saturday, November 13
Sundays with Love Ride 11/7/21 – Ally (30 minutes)
Arms & Light Weights 11/2/21 – Cliff (10 minutes)
Fit Family Fun HIIT Cardio 4/3/20 – Jess (15 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (60 minutes)
Yoga Flow 5/1/21 – Kirra (30 minutes)
The OTF class features one of their signature workouts called “The Chipper”. Basically you chip away at reps on the floor and at time on the treadmill. I think it’s one of their harder workouts, as evidence by the amount of splat points I got – yikes!
Sunday, November 14
New Mexico Scenic Class – Selena (20 minutes)
The Jess King Experience 1/21/21 – Jess K (30 minutes)
The Jess King Experience 11/4/21 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Beyonce Dance Cardio 11/10/21 – Cody & Jess K (20 minutes)
Fit Family Fun HIIT Cardio 7/28/20 – Jess (15 minutes)
Peloton always knocks it out of the park with their scenic content classes. I know think I need to add New Mexico to my “places to visit” list, lol. I attempted the Beyonce dance cardio class. It was labeled advanced which was 100% accurate. I spent a good amount of time laughing at myself because I’m sure I looked crazy trying to learn the dance moves, lol.
Total Weekly Mileage: 15.3 miles
Summary: 6 runs*, 8 cycle, 2 bootcamps, 3 yoga and 10 OTF/strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 436/438
As the title of this post states, I’m SO ready for my staycation. I just have to get through this next week of work, which I’m sure will be hectic, but at least I will have the week of Thanksgiving off. I’m not traveling anywhere but just not logging into my work email is truly a vacation.
Speaking of Thanksgiving, my OTF studio partnered up with the Vizer app to donate meals to those in need. Basically we just have to download the app, check in at the studio after our class, and then the app donates a meal to a local food bank. It’s such a cool concept! Since it’s linked to my Apple Watch, I can actually use it to donate a meal after any workout (you need to log a minimum of 30 minutes of activity to done a meal).
…and now for this week’s memes
Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

I am excited for Thanksgiving and all the yummy foods! I love it all.
I would love to hear who your favorite strength teachers are (since that’s all I do so far on Peloton.) You are such an inspiration!
Enjoy your staycation!
kookyrunner says
Me too! I just ear my way through the week and it’s amazing, lol.
My favorite Peloton strength instructors for are Jess Sims, Adrian and Daniel. For core classes I really like Olivia because she’s hard and my abs are always on fire when I finish.
Wendy says
Glad to see you’re still killing it with your workouts. I’m jealous of your staycation. I need one, lol. It’s amazing that even though I work 3 days per week, I still don’t have enough time.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Wendy! 3 days is still a lot, especially in your profession because it’s so stressful! I hope that you can take some time off before the end of the year.
Jenny says
Ooh! You have a staycation the week of Thanksgiving! I’m envious- I would love to have that whole week off. But I’m happy I’ll get an extra day (Thanksgiving) off at least.
Sounds like you had a great week of workouts as usual!
kookyrunner says
I usually end up taking off the week of Thanksgiving since I have a bunch of PTO to use up before the end of the year, lol. It is nice to have the time off to run last minute errands if necessary.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
That’s so great that you can get meals donated by doing something you’d be doing anyway! I love your big heart, Kim.
I hope that you get some much needed rest during your staycation.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy š I’ve just been so blessed that I always like to pay it forward whenever I can. I think the app is a great way to put out some good in the world for something I do everyday anyway.
Deborah Brooks says
I was looking at the two for one strength class and wondering how it might be. Thanks for the suggestion. I know you ar looking forward to the staycation-almost there! What will you do with all of your free time?
kookyrunner says
No problem! Sometimes they did talk over each other during the class but overall it was good and you could tell they were having fun.
Kimberly Hatting says
I’m jealous of your staycation, but my company always gives us Black Friday off. And, Wednesday is usually pretty light, so I often am able to sneak out a little early. That’s interesting about MC Hammer! I used to be a big Behind the Music fan (on VH1), and his “story” was one I remember seeing. Did you know he was also a preacher?
kookyrunner says
My company also gives us off for Black Friday so I only end up needing to use 3 days of PTO which is nice, lol. I used to love Behind the Music! They should really bring that show back because I learned so much about artists just watching that show. I did know that he was a preacher which I think actually really fits his personality, lol.
Michelle D. says
Wowza what a great week of workouts! Once again I have bookmarked a bunch of your Peloton choices – you never steer me wrong š
I love the idea of the meal donations through that app!
I’ve got Thanksgiving week off too! We’re so close…hang in there and have a good week!
kookyrunner says
I’m glad that I can always give good Peloton recommendations š Honestly I still have so many classes bookmarked that sometimes it feels like I’ll never get through all of them. I’m loving this app and that I can donate a meal a day – I’m all about working out for a cause!
So glad that you will have some time off next week too!
Coco says
You killed your workouts, as usual! So far Iāve only taken Marcelās Veterans Day run, but Iām hoping to do Alexās ride tomorrow. My sides still ache from Jess Sims Nov 6 bootcamp!
I love the morning meme. My husband has learned not to talk to me first thing! Iād be happy eating just my momās stuffing and cranberry sauce and biscuits for thanksgiving. The rest is just to make others happy!
I hope you donāt have to suffer too much until your time off!
kookyrunner says
Alex’s ride was good and he did a great job of saying thank you multiple times to veterans. You could tell it meant a lot to him. I feel like any of Jess Sims bootcamps leave me sore for days, lol.
I also love all the side dishes for Thanksgiving – I really don’t need the meat/main course, lol.
Liz Dexter says
I love that you find dance classes amusing rather than horrifying – I can get embarrassed on my own in the house (we used to have a Wii fit or something that had a dance class in and could see you and it kept going GOOD WORK when I was just flailing around and trying not to weep!). And happy upcoming staycation! We’re meant to be going away this weekend but both have colds and just discovered we might be able to reschedule our train tickets …
kookyrunner says
Years ago I used to do tons of Zumba classes and loved it, probably because I actually knew the routines, lol.
So sorry to hear that you have a cold š Rest up and feel better soon!
Montana @ Pretty Lil Mudder says
I love your memes as always. Especially the one about clubbing haha. So so true. I passed a few clubs on the oceanfront while I was out the other weekend with friends and my first thought was “ugh it’s so loud in there.” You know you’re old when haha.
If I had to eliminate one of those foods from Thanksgiving it would probably be cabbage because we never eat that at the holidays. My grandmother makes excellent stuffed cabbage other times of the year but it’s not a typical holiday food for us. Casseroles and sweet potatoes are definitely Thanksgiving foods though!
Enjoy your staycation! It’s always nice to relax and not have to work no matter where you go!
kookyrunner says
The clubbing meme was definitely very applicable to me, lol. Just the thought of going to a nightclub is a complete turn off.
I would also eliminate cabbage from Thanksgiving dinner. I actually didn’t know that was a popular side dish for the holiday.
Darlene S Cardillo says
A staycation sounds like a great idea. I have never taken one since I only have a few days and i use them to get out of Dodge.
Yes and the time change. I still wake up an hour early. And that after work darkness…the worst.
The last meme= perfect
kookyrunner says
Yes! The afternoon darkness is really the worst š
Black Knight says
A solid week of workouts! And now be ready for your week of staycation.
Here we don’t celebrate the Thanksgiving but it’s always time to taste good food!
Love the idea of meal donation.
Great memes, my favorite is the Clubbing one.
kookyrunner says
Any excuse to celebrate good food is alright by me, lol!
Marcia says
Enjoy that staycation! I’ll live vicariously through you. Great variety of workouts as always!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Marcia!
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
Ha I am definitely feeling that last meme! I am also taking a staycation next week and I can’t wait. Hope you enjoy your time off!
kookyrunner says
So happy you also have some time off next week as well!
Jenn says
You’re so close! It’s going to be epic! I can’t wait for you to get to enjoy!
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I’m so looking forward to down time and yummy food!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
You had a great variety of workouts last week! What a great way to keep it fun.
I usually don’t have any problem in the fall when we go from daylight saving time to standard time, for me it’s in the spring when we go back onto DST and lose an hour.
Staycations are the best and I never take them; however, that’s going to change for me next week!
kookyrunner says
Usually I’m the same way with Fall DST except this year. It’s really throwing me for a loop!
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
I hope you have a great week off for your Staycation! I’ve always had the luxury of some very good days off at work, especially around the holidays. Well this year it’s caught up to me and I need to work on the day after Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday are days I am not normally scheduled to work) and the Thurs & Fri before xmas too. Ughhhh! I’m a bit bummed about that, but I’ll try to make the most of the time I do have off.
kookyrunner says
Hopefully those works days around the holiday won’t be too busy for you!
