Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week. I was just looking at the calendar and realized that we’re halfway through July already. How did that happen?
Here’s how my workouts went this week.
Monday, July 12
AFO Warm Up Run: Twenty One Pilots 7/2/21 – Becs (10 minutes)
AFO Ride: Gorgon City 7/1/21 – Jess K (30 minutes)
AFO Upper Body Strength: Gorgon City 7/1/21 – Ben (10 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
AFO Yoga Flow: Disclosure 7/2/21 – Nico (20 minutes)
I love starting off the week strong and this stack of classes delivered! Also, never underestimate a 10 minute upper body workout – holy cow! My arms were on fire by the end of the class.
Tuesday, July 13
AFO Ride: Twenty One Pilots 7/2/21 – Bradley (15 minutes)
AFO Ride: Twenty One Pilots 7/2/21 – Mayla (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength/Power (45)
AFO Run: Twenty One Pilots 7/2/21 – Becs (20 minutes)
Pride Celebration Yoga Flow 6/26/21 – Ross (45 minutes)
At OTF we had the 200m benchmark row. Although I didn’t finish it in the time I hoped, I still got a PR so I was happy about that. I would really like to break 35 seconds at some point.
I enjoyed the Twenty One Pilots classes. I thought I didn’t know any of their music but I recognized a few songs once they came on during class. You know how sometimes you can hear a song a few times and like it but not know who sings it? Yup, that’s what happened here, lol. This was also my first ride with Mayla – she’s one of the instructors in Germany. Even though I didn’t understand what she was saying because the ride was in German, it didn’t matter because I loved her energy and understood her cues on the bike.
Wednesday, July 14
Pre-Run Warm Up 7/9/21 – Matty (5 minutes)
AFO Run: Pearl Jam 7/3/21 – Selena (45 minutes)
AFO Ride: Pearl Jam 7/3/21 – Jenn (45 minutes)
AFO Upper Body Strength: Peal Jam 7/3/21 – Andy (30 minutes)
AFO Yoga Flow: Pearl Jam 7/3/21 – Denis (30 minutes)
Spice Girls Barre 7/14/21 – Hannah C (30 minutes)
This is news to me, but somehow I am a Pearl Jam fan? I found myself rocking out to a majority of the songs. Selena talked a lot during the run but it didn’t really bother me because I loved everything she said and it was really inspirational. I made a mental note of some of her quotes from class because they were that good. On the other hand, I didn’t enjoy the ride at all. I didn’t like a majority of the songs she selected and she talked/sang along to the songs way too much – it was annoying. You can not go wrong with Andy and Denis and both classes were great! I had some free time between logging off work and dinner so I decided to jump into the Spice Girls barre class – it was fun but barre is still a bit of a struggle for me, lol.
Thursday, July 15
Abu Dhabi Scenic Class (45 minutes)
In the Heights Core Strength 7/10/21 – Emma (20 minutes)
AFO Ride: Depeche Mode 7/2/21 – Christine (20 minutes)
AFO Ride: Disclosure 7/2/21 – Ben (20 minutes)
AFO Focus Flow Core: Depeche Mode 7/2/21 – Kristin (20 minutes)
I love the scenic classes because they allow me to explore parts of the world that I may not ever visit in person (I always do them as a powerwalk instead of a run). Any core class with Emma is always great and I love that she had a nice mix of different core moves (dead bugs, hollow holds, etc). I was underwhelmed with both of the rides, primarily because I just couldn’t get into the music but I did enjoy the core focused yoga class.
Friday, July 16
Pop Champions Ride 7/7/21 – Tunde (30 minutes)
Spice Girls Bike Bootcamp 7/16/21 – Cody (30 minutes)
Post-Ride Stretch 7/9/21 – Cliff (5 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (60 minutes)
Yoga Focus Flow: Chest Openers 7/11/21 – Mariana (20 minutes)
I feel like I should start off every Friday with a live class with Cody. The Spice Girls bike bootcamp was so much fun and really set the mood for the rest of my day. I really loved the OTF class I took during my lunch break because it was a nice 5×5 circuit on the weight floor, focused on both upper and lower body moves. The treadmill block was simple but effective.
Saturday, July 17
Warm Up Run 10/9/20 – Jess (10 minutes)
AFO Bootcamp: WizKid 7/1/21 – Chase (30 minutes)
AFO Glutes & Legs Strength: WizKid 7/1/21 – Rad (20 minutes)
AFO Ride: WizKid 7/1/21 – Cliff (20 minutes)
LHM Celebration Ride 9/22/20 – Leanne (20 minutes)
Post-Ride Stretch 12/16/20 – Cliff (10 minutes)
Power Yoga 7/9/21 – Kristin (20 minutes)
Jess was feeling under the weather so the live #Saturday60 bootcamp was cancelled. No problem as I still have plenty of on demand classes to complete. I really enjoyed the WizKid classes as I was sort of familiar with a few of his songs. The only issue was that Chase did a lot of leg strength moves in his class so it probably wasn’t that wise of me to pair his bootcamp with Rad’s glutes and legs class!
Sunday, July 18
Pre-Ride Warm Up 2/21/21 – Cliff (5 minutes)
Usain Bolt Dancehall Ride 7/15/21 – Hannah F (30 minutes)
In The Heights Ride 7/10/21 – Robin (30 minutes)
HIIT Cardio 12/31/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
HIIT Cardio 3/12/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
In The Heights Pilates 7/10/21 – Ally (20 minutes)
In The Heights Yoga Flow 7/10/21 – Mariana (30 minutes)
This was the perfect stack for me today, especially the Dancehall ride. That was probably the best ride I’ve taken in a long time – the playlist was great and Hannah was having so much fun. It was hard not to feed off of that positive energy. I even got an unexpected PR. I haven’t done HIIT cardio classes in a while so it felt good to add in those classes today too.
Total Weekly Mileage: 13.2 miles
Summary: 7 runs*, 2 bootcamp, 11 cycle, 7 yoga and 11 OTF/strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 361/370
I finished all of the Peloton All For One classes. I ended up liking about 955 of the classes so I would consider that a success! I’m not sure if they will do anything like this again but it was a really fun way to discover new artists and enjoy the music of some of my favorite artists, all while working out.
Anyone else over summer? I’m always over summer even before it starts, but the humidity this year is driving me nuts. It just always feels like soup outside. I’ve already started my countdown to Fall.
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

I’ve also had enough of the humidity, but I’m not ready for summer to end! The cooler weather today reminded me that its just been extra bad lately. If we could just have normal summer weather I think I could handle it.
kookyrunner says
I think if we could just get a week or two of nice weather with low humidity that it would make me not dislike summer as much, lol.
Jessie says
I’m not ready for summer to be over…the anxiety of my return to the office is looming over me after Labor Day, ha!
You do SO many classes! It’s incredible. Nice week Kim!
kookyrunner says
Oh man, I’m sure you have a mixed bag of emotions about going back to the office after Labor Day. If I had an office to go back to, I think I wouldn’t mind going to the office twice a week and WFH the other three. It would be nice to interact with co-workers in person again.
Jenny says
Hee hee- love the cat meme!
It’s funny how everyone (including me) seems to be astonished that July is half over. In Florida we’re always waiting for summer to be over, but then the kids go back to school so it’s a mixed bag. Weather-wise, I’m ready for winter.
kookyrunner says
The cat meme still makes me laugh, lol. I love cold weather so I’m ready for Winter but I do love the longer daylight hours of summer.
Coco says
Hah! I definitely watch movies like that. At least my husband has learned not to delete shows off the DVR until I can βre-watchβ the ending. π Iβve heard similar complaints about Jennβs Pearl Jam ride. I liked CDEβs Depeche Mode ride, but I did listen to them in college so it was ride down memory lane for me.
Solid week as usual, Kim!
kookyrunner says
LOL, glad I’m not the only one. It’s funny because I can stay awake to watch documentaries but I have a hard time staying awake to watch regular movies.
Yeah I really hate to leave any type of negative review of a class, especially because the instructors work their butts off, but I just couldn’t get into Jenn’s ride.
Marcia says
When I start wishing summer away, I consider the fact that winter is about 10 months long here. Ugh. Great week of workouts for you!
kookyrunner says
LOL that’s true about the Winters being so long. If I could just get 2 weeks of nice weather and low humidity I would be very happy lol.
Deborah Brooks says
Oh wow you did the cycle class in German! Good for you! they have had some fun music collabs this summer. I need to retry Bradley. I was little too bored w him at first. Way to crush it this week! Yes, I am ready for fall
kookyrunner says
I’ve done a few of the cycle classes in German. I was hoping that I would be able to learn a few German words but nope, lol.
Bradley’s ride was okay – he had a lot of energy which I can appreciate.
Wendy says
Glad to hear you enjoyed the All for one classes. Sounds like they had some good variety. And you know I’m all about the music.
LOL, the line between self-care and self-destruction is a fine one. It’s like I wrote that, lol….
kookyrunner says
They had a lot of great variety. While I didn’t love all the featured music artists, I was happy to get exposed to new music.
Michelle D. says
Great job completing all of the All for One classes!
Yes, while I do not want to wish time away, I am so over summer or at least the humidity.
That last meme about self-care and self-destruction is the best LOL!
kookyrunner says
Thanks! The All For One classes were super fun and I’m so glad Peloton gave us tons of content to choose from.
That meme about self-care is me on a daily basis!
Kimberly Hatting says
Another great week for you!! Is that the same Spice Girls bike workout Deborah had on Insta? I bet that was a fun one! The humidity really has been a bear this summer…much higher than usual, and with very little relief between the really hot periods (but I’m not over Summer LOL).
kookyrunner says
Yup, it’s the same one! The instructor was in rare form on that ride with tons of choreography and it was really fun! I’m glad to know that I’m not crazy when it comes to the humidity this year. It just seems like it’s so bad this summer!
Chocolaterunsjudy says
Itβs definitely been extreme humidity this month! Plus hot sometimes. I still love the longer days, though. Winter is just too hard on me with the lack of sunlight!
As always, thanks for the memes, Kim!
kookyrunner says
I do enjoy the longer sunlight. It’s so depressing when it’s dark outside at 6pm.
Darlene S Cardillo says
Great week on all your classes. You are are so disciplined.
Love those memes esp the bread one…so funny.
I’m not ready for summer to end…winter is sooo long. I’m willing to endure the hot temps for t he daylight and sunshine.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Darlene! i do wish that Winter didn’t feel so long but I am so over the humid weather. I can’t believe we still have to get through August – sigh.
Jenn says
Super fabulous variety of classes! I’m so impressed that you are able to rock them all!
Your memes are the best. The sliced bread had me crying!
kookyrunner says
The sliced bread meme was one of my favorites this week, lol. I have the humor of a teenager but it makes me happy so I roll with it, haha.
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
Nice job on all of your workouts! I am so not ready for summer to be over, but I’d love to give the humidity a swift kick out the door!
kookyrunner says
i’m right there with you with giving humidity a swift kick in the butt!
Liz Dexter says
So much work in all the heat! I have given up on running today when it was a running day – and on running club tonight even! Do you have a barre at home or can you use the side of the treadmill or something?
kookyrunner says
I don’t have a barre at home, but luckily they design the classes so that you don’t need a barre. They recommend using a chair for some of the moves.
Zenaida Arroyo says
They’re that many Peloton All For One classes? I had no idea. Pearl Jam reminds me of college! π I like Jenn’s classes so it is a bummer that you found that one annoying. There is an instructor that swears a lot in her classes and that is annoying. I do not want Summer to be over because it means that it will be time to go back to work.
kookyrunner says
I was surprised at how many AFO classes were available but I had a fun time working my way through them!
