Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week. For the past few days, it has finally started to feel like Fall, even though we’re not officially in Fall yet. You know my motto – bring on the cooler weather!!
Monday, September 6
Core Strength 8/4/21 – Rad (5 minutes)
Climb Ride 3/3/20 – Ben (45 minutes)
Arms & Shoulders Strength 11/11/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (60 minutes)
Happy Labor Day! Although, it didn’t really feel like a holiday. In fact, we didn’t even barbecue, but I did spend some time relaxing after finishing my workout and it’s always great to have a day off from work. The OTF class was really good as we focused primarily on speed on the treadmills (I think we had ten 30 second all outs) and lots of explosive moves with a variety of dumbbells for the strength portion of class.
Tuesday, September 7
Glutes & Leg Strength 7/19/19 – Jess (15 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (45 minutes)
Spotify Disney Hits Run 8/17/21 – Becs (30 minutes)
Core Strength 8/29/21 – Rad (10 minutes)
Slow Flow Yoga 5/2/21 – Denis (30 minutes)
Let me just saw, I was feeling the burn during the glutes & legs class! Amazing how much you can get done in 15 minutes, especially when it comes to lower body exercises. During the OTF class we really focused on endurance running on the treadmill and power rowing on the rower – two things I’ll definitely need for the DriTri next weekend. Now that Matty’s core challenge is over, I probably won’t do a core class daily but still want to fit in a few a week. I really enjoy Rad’s core classes (I think I’ve taken all of them already)! I also love Olivia for core work as well.
Wednesday, September 8
Core Strength 8/30/21 – Rad (10 minutes)
Pre-Run Warm Up 7/28/21 – Selena (5 minutes)
Trap Fun Run 7/13/19 – Jess (60 minutes)
Cool Down Run 9/1/21 – Jess (10 minutes)
Turkey Burn Ride 11/26/20 – Alex (45 minutes)
Post-Ride Stretch 3/19/21 – Cliff (10 minutes)
I really enjoyed this run! The music was perfect for a nice, steady paced longer run. I was also glad I did the Turkey Burn. Yes, kind of odd to do a Thanksgiving themed ride in September, but I woke up feeling kind of sad for no particular reason, so it was nice to take a ride focused on gratitude.
Thursday, September 9
Pop Run: Live From Home 5/3/20 – Matty (30 minutes)
Chest & Back Strength 1/14/20 – Jess (10 minutes)
Glutes & Legs Strength 11/13/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Arms & Shoulders Strength 7/30/20 – Jess (10 minutes)
Spotify Metal Essentials Ride 9/9/21 – Kendall (30 minutes)
Yoga Flow: Live From Home 5/2/20 – Ross (45 minutes)
I really wasn’t sure what type of strength training I wanted to do for the day so I selected a few 10 minute classes. That way I could hit all the major body parts!
Friday, September 10
Sundays with Love Ride 11/29/20 – Ally (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (60 minutes)
Flash 15 9/10/21 – Jess (15 minutes)
Lower Body: Live From Home 5/2/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
It was a fun OTF themed class – Load and Explode – basically a lot of tempo work during the strength portion of the workout. I love mixing up tempos because I find that it helps me go slower and really focus on the movement. After class, I rushed back home to jump on the live Flash 15 class to help Coco celebrate her 900th strength class milestone. It also ended up being a milestone class for me as well (450th strength class).
Saturday, September 11
Spotify Metal Essentials Ride 9/10/21 – Erik (30 minutes)
Pre-Run Warm Up 9/8/21 – Jess (5 minutes)
Saturday60: Advanced Full Body Bootcamp 9/11/21 – Jess (60 minutes)
MOS Ibiza Chillout Full Body Stretch 8/16/21 – Ben (10 minutes)
Remembrance Meditation 9/11/21 – Kristin (10 minutes)
My legs were sore from Friday’s workout so the bootcamp class was rough but still good. I loved Ben’s stretch class – it was a nice lower body stretch and I enjoyed the music too. Peloton offered four Remembrance classes in honor of the 20th anniversary of 9/11 (2 runs, 1 ride and 1 meditation). Mentally, I didn’t think I could handle anything besides the meditation. It was great and I used the time to quietly think about the sadness of that day. It’s always a hard day for me.
Sunday, September 12
Savannah Scenic Class (20 minutes)
HIIT Cardio: Live From Home 5/21/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
Sundays with Love: Live From Home Ride 6/21/20 – Ally (30 minutes)
Bike Bootcamp: Bodyweight 9/15/20 – Jess (30 minutes)
Post-Ride Stretch 4/23/21 – Cliff (10 minutes)
It’s been a busy day so far! I got a lot of errands accomplished this morning and then I hit the basement to get in a workout.
Total Weekly Mileage: 18.2 miles
Summary: 8 runs*, 6 cycle, 2 bootcamps, 2 yoga and 14 OTF/strength/HIIT classes.

I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Tuesday Topics: Tips for Beginner Runners
Liz Dexter says
Goodness me, reading this makes me more in awe of you than ever. I’ve realised I’ve overdone it running, I have run myself into the ground and am certainly not doing well on evening running club runs and have been super-stressed over them. So I’ve had to pull back quite a lot and reassess what I’m doing, which is pretty gutting, to be honest. But I’m glad to see other people able to be strong and enjoy their strength, at least.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Liz! Funny you should mention overdoing it with running because I think I’m almost at that point. I’m probably going to focus on reducing miles a bit after this month.
Jessie says
Looks like a full week of fitness Kim! I haven’t ventured into Peloton runs yet, but I’m supposed to host a guided treadmill workout for a work thing again and I need some ideas. I need to check Peloton out for inspiration!
kookyrunner says
Definitely check out some of the tread instructors for tips. They all have very different styles so I think you’ll be able to pull some inspiration for each one! My favorite tread instructors are Jess Sims, Adrian and Matt.
Deborah Brooks says
Another great mix of workouts for you! Rad is my new fave core class instructor this month. He is different and challenging. It does feel like fall and I love it!
kookyrunner says
Totally agree about Rad – I find the core workouts to be hard, but in a different/good way.
Wendy says
Great week Kim and congrats on your 450th strength class! I’ve been slacking on strength lately and I need to get back at it.
The moth meme tho….
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Wendy!
Jenny says
Ha ha…. the moth.
You had a great week! Now that I’ve been doing some Peloton classes I can fully appreciate what you’re doing here. How did you like Denis’ slow flow class? I’ve been loving his yoga classes lately.
Glad you’re getting some fall weather! Enjoy your week.
kookyrunner says
I love the moth meme so much, lol.
I really enjoyed the slow flow yoga class with Denis. I find him to have such a way with words – I feel like I not only get a good workout, but learn something new when I take his classes.
Kimberly Hatting says
OMG, that school closing meme LOL!!!! I really admire your commitment to all those classes! You always have such solid weeks of fitness, and such a great variety 😉 Well done!!
kookyrunner says
The school closing meme is so true – these kids have it so easy these days, lol.
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
I remember for school closings we had a telephone chain…I had to wait to get a phone call to know if school was closed! Great job with your workouts this week!
kookyrunner says
Yes I remember the telephone chain too, lol. Ohh the good ‘ole days, haha.
Marcia says
Great week of activity Kim! Congrats on 450 strength classes. That is awesome! Omg those memes! So funny!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Marcia!
Michelle D. says
That moth meme had me laughing 🙂
Such a strong week of workouts! I agree about Rad’s core classes – he’s quickly become a new favorite. Congrats on hitting 450!
kookyrunner says
The moth meme is really just so funny to me, but it’s actually a good message!
Coco says
Thanks for joining me for my 900th! How cool it was your 450th! I’ve been avoiding Rad’s classes as “too hard” — maybe I’ll brave one this week.
I did CDE’s remembrance ride today — it was pretty intense, but more in what she didn’t say than what she did.
kookyrunner says
I think I will hold off on CDE’s ride – I just need to make sure that I’m in the right headspace for that one.
Rad’s core classes are hard but in a good way, if that makes sense!
Black Knight says
A solid week of activities, congrats!
I am also enjoying the (almost) fall weather. July and August here were very hot!
Great memes.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much and happy that you enjoy the memes 🙂
