Happy Sunday. I hope that everyone had a good week. I certainly enjoyed the shortened work week. Why can a 4-day work week be the norm? I feel like that really needs to happen. Here’s how my workouts went this week.
Monday, July 4
Rush Run 7/1/22 – Matt (20 minutes)
Rush Ride 7/1/22 – Denis (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (45 minutes)
Rush Upper Body Strength 7/1/22 – Andy (30 minutes)
Happy 4th of July! (Although I am not sure if America deserves a birthday celebration this year). Anyways, happy to report that I got a lot of sleep on Sunday night so I woke up well rested. I also took advantage of a late morning 45 minute OTF class. There aren’t many 45 minute classes on the schedule so this was a nice treat – it’s just as much torture, just condensed into a shorter time period π Peloton released three classes for their newest artist series, Rush. I have never heard of this band, so I didn’t know any of their songs, but it wasn’t too bad.
Tuesday, July 5
Warm Up Run 1/19/22 – Adrian (5 minutes)
House Run 5/1/21 – Matty (30 minutes)
Upper Body Warm Up 5/13/22 – Tunde (5 minutes)
Arms & Shoulders Strength 5/13/22 – Tunde (10 minutes)
Pop Bike Bootcamp 4/30/21 – Tunde (45 minutes)
Glutes & Legs Strength 5/2/21 – Selena (20 minutes)
The day after a holiday can be pretty brutal. I already was not looking forward to logging into work, but figured I could at least enjoy my workout. This ended up being a little bit more strength focused than I originally planned, but that ended up being just what I needed.
Wednesday, July 6
Movie Buff Ride 4/20/21 – Kendall (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Power Walk 5/4/22 – Jess (30 minutes)
Cool Down Walk 6/28/22 – Marcel M (5 minutes)
Focus Flow: Glutes 4/27/22 – Kristin (10 minutes)
I was pleasantly surprised that the OTF template wasn’t completely insane. It was actually a bit more manageable today so maybe the template designers are listening to our feedback/complaints, lol. Originally I was going to do a 20 minute run but I had not done a good power walk class for a few weeks so I decided to go that route instead. My glutes definitely needed a little bit of TLC so the 10 minute focus flow class felt great!
Thursday, July 7
New Wave Ride 4/30/21 – Christine (30 minutes)
Upper Body Warm Up 5/13/22 – Tunde (5 minutes)
Arms & Shoulders Strength 5/13/22 – Tunde (10 minutes)
David Guetta Hike 7/6/22 – Rebecca (20 minutes)
Pride Bootcamp 6/9/19 – Andy (45 minutes)
I finished up week 1 of the Arms with Tunde program and this was the hardest class so far. Even though it was only 10 minutes, there was an EMOM and AMRAP during the class. My arms were on fire by the end of class. The David Guetta hike was good, and it was my 250th walk. I have a feeling all the classes in that artist series are going to be great. Somehow I missed doing Andy’s boot camp class when I was working my way through the 2019 Pride badge classes, so I wanted to get that in before Peloton purged the class (Peloton usually purges some of their older classes once a year).
Friday, July 8
Live DJ Run 4/30/21 – Adrian (30 minutes)
Intervals & Arms Ride 5/1/21 – Tunde (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
I was supposed to have Jury Duty today but when I called the hotline on Thursday it said I didn’t have to report for service – hooray! It’s always a fun time with Adrian and DJ John Michael during the Live DJ runs. I literally have no words for the OTF workout. All I can say is that the strength block felt harder than the treadmill block. It was rough.
Saturday, July 9
Upper Body Warm Up 5/13/22 – Tunde (5 minutes)
Arms & Shoulders Strength 5/13/22 – Tunde (10 minutes)
90s Ride 5/1/21 – Emma (30 minutes)
Warm Up Run 1/31/22 – Joslyn (10 minutes)
Run + Bodyweight Bootcamp 9/2/19 (45 minutes)
David Guetta Power Yoga Flow 7/6/22 – Aditi (30 minutes)
I started week 2 of the Arms with Tunde program. The first class for this week wasn’t that bad at all – it actually felt like the easiest class in the series so far. No live Saturday60 this week since Jess is sick. i’ve done all of her other Saturday60 classes so I decided to do a warm up run and pair that with one of her 45 minute bootcamp classes. I still have a lot of 30 and 45 minute tread boot camp classes to complete.
Sunday, July 10
Pre-Run Warm Up 6/30/22 – Jeffrey (5 minutes)
Advanced Intervals Run 11/5/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
HIIT & Hills Ride 5/2/21 – Kendall (30 minutes)
80s Ride 5/13/22 – Robin (15 minutes)
Full Body Strength 4/20/21 – Rebecca (45 minutes)
Focus Flow: Floor Poses 12/21/21 – Kristin (10 minutes)
That intervals run was spicy – but I did get a new 20 min run class PR so that was cool. I really didn’t enjoy the strength class. Some of the moves just didn’t make a lot of sense to me so it didn’t feel like I got a good full body workout. I’m glad I did the floor poses class because my hips are ridiculously tight!
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Isnβt Rush a rock group from the 70s? Obviously I havenβt taken any of the classes yet. π
I only trust Jess Sims for a 45 min strength class. I might do one with Andy now that I can preview the moves. I always think RK is a risk because you never if strength coach Rebecca or gymnast Rebecca did the programming. π π π
The Brooks event sounds like a lot of fun. I hope to make the D.C. version.
kookyrunner says
Yup, I think you’re right about Rush. During his run, Matt mentioned some of their songs from the 80s so they probably started making music in the 70s. Moving forward I definitely will probably only use Jess (maybe Andy and Adrian too) for those longer strength classes since I always like how she structures her classes. So true about RK – that class had a gymnastics feel to it, lol.
Hope you’re able to make the DC Brooks event!
Chocolaterunsjudy says
Glad you didn’t have to go to jury duty! You know how much I love that.
The Brook tour sounds like a ton of fun! Enjoy!
kookyrunner says
I was really dreading going to jury duty so I was happy I didn’t have to do it, lol.
I’m looking forward to the Brooks tour stop! I don’t think I will do any races this year, but I think an event like that will be very fun.
Deborah Brooks says
I am excited for the Brooks run tour as well! They are going to do lots of fun stuff in August and September. I am looking forward to trying out some new shoes too. I see you are doing the warm up for tunde’s classes as well. I skipped those as I was already warmed up. Curious to hear your thoughts I will start week 4 tomorrow
kookyrunner says
I’m looking forward to trying out the new sneakers too! I want to see if there is anything that is close fo the Adrenalines since those are my favorite. I like the warm ups for Tunde’s class because my upper back tends to be very tight so I find that it’s helping with that, as well as getting my arms warmed up for the class.
Jenny says
Ha ha… well, you can join that small faction that’s already posting about Halloween (check out spookythankfulmerry on instagram.)
I’m getting curious about Tunde’s arm classes- everyone keeps talking about them! i’ll have to check it out.
Sounds like you had a great week of workouts! Nice job.
kookyrunner says
LOL! I have a friend that absolutely loves Halloween – it’s her favorite holiday – and she has already started posting about it on Instagram.
Darlene says
Wow. Another full week of workouts. You are inspiring.
I have heard of Rush. But donβt remember any of their music.
Great memes. They always make me smile.
I signed up for the Sat brooks event too. Itβs free. But not sure if I can go.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Darlene! So glad that you signed up for the Brooks event too. As of now I don’t have any conflicts so I’m looking forward to it.
Jessie says
Awesome week Kim! I’m on board with a 4-day work week π I have a friend in at a non-profit that switched to 4 days. So jealous!
The Brooks running club day sounds like a blast!
kookyrunner says
Right?! Someone in the government needs to make the 4 day work week a standard thing, lol
Wendy says
I used to love Rush back in the day– ok, the late 1970s-so did my hubs and he’s seen them live! So random that Peloton has Rush-themed workouts. I can’t imagine working out to rush, although they have a song called Working Man and sometimes it really hits home for me! Nice week of workouts. Sounds like they were really tough!
Um, it’s never a good time to start pumpkin spicing, just saying…
kookyrunner says
It was definitely random that Peloton featured a Rush Artist Series, but I think it coincided with Canada Day, so they wanted a Canadian artist.
I can see you are not a pumpkin spice fan, lol. This is one flavor that is very polarizing – you either love it or hate it!
Michelle says
So glad you signed up for the Brooks Run Club event! I’m really bummed that they’re not bringing the tour to Boston π
Rush is an interesting choice for the Artist series. I remember the guys across the hall from me my freshman year were big Rush fans…me not so much LOL so I think I’ll be skipping those classes.
kookyrunner says
I’m so surprised that they aren’t coming to Boston. I thought they would hit up all the cities that have major running events/marathons.
Yeah I think Rush was selected to coincide with Canada Day since they are from Canada, but I feel like there are other Canadian artists they could have selected, lol.
Marcia says
Yay for getting out of jury duty. That’s always a bonus in my book. Growing up my brother listened to Rush. I was never a fan. I didn’t even see Rush on the Pelo artist series but I’m loving the Dave Guetta workouts. Nice mix of activities, Kim!
kookyrunner says
Definitely a bonus! I really didn’t want to see in a courtroom all day. I have only done the David Guetta yoga and hike class but loved both. I am looking forward to doing the rides and runs.
Kimberly Hatting says
I had jury duty for June, but the two potential trials never happened, so I never had to call in OR report. WIN!!!! (I’ve had jury duty numerous times in the past, so I hope this is my last hurrah with it, LOL). I (stupidly) took Friday afternoon, July 1st, off…so when I went back to work on Tuesday, I had a nasty mess of emails to weed through. Honestly, do these people think their stuff is gonna be seen and processed with a 3-day weekend? As you know, I love Tunde!!
kookyrunner says
I also took off on July 1 so I can definitely relate to coming back to a pile of emails. Never fun but the time off is worth it, lol.
Liz Dexter says
That’s great you can call a line for jury duty info – we have to trek to the court to be told to go home! The woman dogsitting for my friend Claire was assigned it last week when she was dogsitting but fortunately they called her at home, actually, and said not to go in until Wednesday, when she got sent home again! I only knew because I thought I was going to have to go and let the dogs out at lunchtime for her, but it seems a waste of resources! Well done on your 250th walk and all those classes!
kookyrunner says
Ugh that’s so annoying that you have to go all the way to the court to dins out if you have to serve jury duty. they should definitely get a hotline or email that people can utilize!
Shathiso says
We don’t have jury duty here as all rulings are done by a judge or panel of judges (depending on severity of the crime)! The movies make it seem so exciting but I guess it’s no where near exciting in real life! LOL.
kookyrunner says
It’s definitely not exciting in real life, lol. Much more of an annoyance.
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
Yay for not having to go in for jury duty. That happened to me back in the early spring, too. So lucky!
kookyrunner says
I was so happy! It’s literally the last thing I want to do.
