Happy Sunday! Anyone else experience weather whiplash this week? I think we experienced 3 seasons this week, and yesterday’s random snow squall was the icing on the cake, lol.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, February 14
Pre-Run Warm Up 2/7/20 – Becs (5 minutes)
Swizz Beatz Run 2/9/22 – Marcel (30 minutes)
Swizz Beatz Arms & Shoulders 2/9/22 – Adrian (20 minutes)
Swizz Beatz Ride 2/9/22 – Alex (30 minutes)
Mood Walk: Salty 2/14/22 – Marcel (20 minutes)
BHM Block Party Yoga Flow 2/13/22 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
Loved starting off my week with these Swizz Beatz classes. The instructors all did a great job curating their playlists to fit the intensity of their classes. Peloton released a few “salty” and “sweet” mood classes for Valentine’s Day, so of course I had to take the salty mood walk class during my lunch break to celebrate the day, lol.
I continued my Valentine’s Day tradition of treating myself to a heart shaped pizza from a local pizza joint. Unfortunately it wasn’t that good (very greasy), so I didn’t enjoy it, but I did enjoy the glass of wine I had with it π
Tuesday, February 15
Hip Hop Walk 2/14/22 – Marcel (20 minutes)
Pop Ride 2/8/22 – Cody (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (45 minutes)
New Year’s Day Recovery Stretch 1/1/22 – Matty (20 minutes)
Marcel’s hip hop walk featured songs from the Super Bowl Halftime show so I was singing along the entire time – it was fun. You can’t go wrong with a ride with Cody – I swear the things that come out of his mouth are just so ridiculous, it’s hard not to laugh. It was also the 500 meter row benchmark day at OTF. I knew I wasn’t going to o PR because my body felt pretty tired, but I was still happy with my time. I did the 20 minute stretch class before turning in for the night and I think taking the class shortly before going to bed may have helped me sleep better.
Wednesday, February 16
Warm Up Walk 10/28/21 – Jermaine (10 minutes)
Mary J. Blige Run 2/16/22 – Jermaine (30 minutes)
Mary J. Blige Walk + Run 2/16/22 – Kirsten (30 minutes)
Mary J. Blige Full Body Strength 2/16/22 – Jess (30 minutes)
Mary J. Blige Yoga Flow 2/16/22 – Aditi (20 minutes)
Happy Mary J. Blige Day! As soon as the classes for this Artist Series were released, I knew I wanted to do some of the classes live if possible, hence why I moved my workout to the evening. I can’t say enough good things about all the classes – they were amazing.
Thursday, February 17
Walk + Run 2/15/22 – Jess (20 minutes)
Neo Soul Ride 2/15/22 – Sam (20 minutes)
Fiesta Latina Ride 2/11/22 – Camila (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
Jess focused on longer walk/run intervals for this class which I really enjoyed. We would run for 4 minutes and then Sam had such a great playlist for the Neo Soul ride! It was just very chill and low-key. We had a pretty long endurance block on the treadmill during OTF class that really wiped me out. Obviously I need to work some longer runs into my schedule!
Friday, February 18
Mary J. Blige Ride 2/16/22 – Tunde (30 minutes)
Mary J. Blige Bike Bootcamp 2/17/22 – Cody (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Neo Soul Yoga Flow 2/15/22 – Nico (20 minutes)
Sadly I wasn’t a fan of these two Mary J. Blige workouts. Tunde tried to fit a lot of songs into the class which made everything feel a little rushed and I didn’t care for Cody’s playlist. On the plus side, the Neo Soul yoga flow was great!
Saturday, February 19
90s Walk 1/14/22 – Marcel (20 minutes)
BHM Block Party Fresh Friday Ride 2/18/22 – Denis (30 minutes)
AT’s Ride to Greatness:Game 3 2/17/22 – Alex (20 minutes)
90’s Core Strength 2/16/22 – Emma (20 minutes)
I donated blood in the morning and then ran a few errands. I was told no heavy lifting or strenuous activity after my donation so I opted for a few low impact classes and took it easy on both rides. Denis did another Fresh Friday ride so I knew I had to take it and it didn’t disappoint. His Fresh Friday rides are my favorite. Twenty minutes of core with Emma is a lot so I’m sure I’ll be feeling that for the next few days.
Sunday, February 20
Orangetheory Fitness – Lift 45: Full Body (45 minutes)
BHM Block Party Ride 2/20/22 – Cliff (30 minutes)
BHM Block Party Run 2/20/22 – Marcel (30 minutes)
Post-Run Stretch 8/6/19 – Chase (5 minutes)
It felt good to go to a Lift 45 class since I haven’t gone to one in over two months. I grabbed some breakfast after that class and then hoped on the bike and tread to take two more BHM classes – both were great!
Summary:
Running – 14.66 miles
Cycle – 45.15 miles
Strength Training – 70 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 522/523
I took the day off work on Friday so that I could have a four day weekend (we get the day off for President’s Day on Monday). I don’t anticipate taking any out of state vacations this year so I’m going to try to do either 3-day or 4-day weekends every now and then for a mini-break. I think these little breaks will be super beneficial in the long run!
Tomorrow starts week #4 for the OTF Transformation Challenge. While I’ve been getting in the workouts, I could definitely be better about my nutrition. I’m going to prep some fruits and vegetables tomorrow so that I can grab and go during the week.
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

As always, thanks for the memes! They always make me laugh. My eating has been good, but it could also be better.
You definitely need those 4 day weekends! I am hoping to plan a trip (driving) out of state — maybe soon — and my husband wants to go back to visit our friends in ME at some point. We’ll see how that works out, we have to be flexible.
Too bad the pizza wasn’t good. Jenn talked about Chicago deep dish, maybe I need to get my husband that for VD day next year. π
kookyrunner says
So happy that the memes make you laugh π
I hope that you will be able to leave the state for a driving trip – it’s always so nice to get away, even if only for a few days.
Deborah Brooks says
ok those were pretty cool pens! LOL. We made pizza on Valentine’s day but no hearts. We will have to up our game next year. I also love the fresh Friday rides and have not done them in a while. Really hope you enjoy your extra days off!
kookyrunner says
Those pens were so cool! I wonder if they still make them?
I think next year I will make my own pizza or order from a different local place.
Coco says
Thanks for the scoop on the MJ Blige classes, now I know which ones to take. Iβm looking forward to Denisβs Fresh Friday ride.
Sorry your V-Day pizza didnβt live up to expectations. It looks on point though. Hopefully the wine made up for it.
I definitely coveted those pens!
kookyrunner says
I think you will love Denis’s Fresh Friday ride – it’s a great vibe!
The wine made p for the lackluster pizza, lol.
Kimberly Hatting says
I wanted one of those multi-color pens, too! They were all the rage, LOL π I did Alex’s 20-minute ride to greatness this morning, and HOLY SWEAT! He’s a beast, but I really love his classes. And Cody…OMG, I did his Valentines Day class, and I was in tears from laughing so much. He’s hilarious! Another solid week for you, #KimTwin! Way to get it done!!
kookyrunner says
I feel like I want to research if they still make those pens, lol.
AT is NO JOKE on the bike – he always brings his A game! I still need to do Cody’s Valentine’s themed ride
Cari says
That pen. Yes!
And LOL reaching for the charger, or the phone I dropped off bed which is on risers
Thanks for the heads up on Marcel’s walk. I’m going to have to run to it even though I’ve had Still D.R.E on my playlist most of the week thanks to tweeting about it.
Glad you were able to reschedule the blood donation relatively quickly after the storm the other week. The squall here was a nothing burger but the phone alert scared the crap out of me
kookyrunner says
There have been quite a few times where I’ve done acrobatics trying to reach mu charger from the bed, lol.
I think you will love Marcel’s walk – such a great playlist!
The phone alert for the snow squall was kinda scary – and it went off on my phone twice.
Cari says
Luckily my charger cable can hook through my nighttable drawer handle saving me some of the acrobatics
Yes, twice on my personal and once on my work phone. So weird.
Black Knight says
I have a great respect and I am grateful to the persons who donate blood. Thank you.
I am sorry for the not good pizza. Just yesterday I posted the photo of the most famous Italian pizza (pizza Margherita) from the city where it was invented.
Love the 8 years meme: so true!
kookyrunner says
Of course I love that pizza photo that you posted – it looks delicious!
Marcia says
Yes! That pen! So much yes! Lol!
Enjoy your XL weekend! I love the idea of taking several throughout the year. Great plan.
Nice bunch of workouts as always Kim!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Marcia!
Wendy says
I think your plan to take long weekends is a good one! I have Mondays off, so that gives me an extra day every week. If I take Fridays–even better, lol. Enjoy your time away from work!!
I always wanted one of those pens, but my mom refused to buy it. Sigh…
kookyrunner says
I’ve always said that I would work 10 hour days if it meant I could have a 4-day work week, but I don’t think my job is too keen on that idea, lol.
Jenn says
OMG that pen! It was my favorite!
I loved that halftime show! Did you see the video that showed Fitty hoisting himself up into that position? He’s amazing!
Sorry about your pizza. We had heart-shaped Chicago pizza and it was pretty tasty.
kookyrunner says
I did see that video of Fitty – I was really impressed!
Darlene S Cardillo says
That was my favorite pen!!!!
I love theidea of a heart-spaced pizza.
I have to say the pizza before my race was awful. I may need to switch my carb loading meal.
four day weekends are a great idea. I’m so happy to have today off… the problem is that I am getting nothing done.
kookyrunner says
I loved that pen because it was truly an all-in-one, lol.
Ugh – there’s nothing worse than a bad pre-race meal. The pizza I had before I ran NYCM was awful – I remember it vividly.
Michelle says
OMG I remember those pens! I had to have one! LOL
Another great week of workouts for you, as always.
I really like your idea of taking a bunch of 4-day weekends – having those short work weeks can make such a big difference!
kookyrunner says
Those pens were awesome! I hope that the 4-day weekends will help make work feel a bit more bearable the next few months, lol.
Jessie says
4 day weekends are the best, great idea to take more of them!
I’ll have to try that 20 minute Emma core, I like her classes.
Those pens were great- so were the ones with little ‘scenes’ that moved in water/gel when you tipped the pen upside down. Way cooler than an iphone π
kookyrunner says
I think that Emma has the best core classes. They are hard but effective!
I also loved the ‘scene’ pens too. We really did have cool writing instruments growing up.
Jenny says
Oh that’s a bummer you didn’t like the pizza- I was thinking about you and that pizza last week 9and I like the pizza meme!)
Hope you enjoyed your long weekend and are back ready to crush it this week. Yes, I’ll bet that 20 minute core class was hard- I’ve been doing Emma’s Crush Your Core 2 program, and those classes are all 5-10 minutes. I”ll check that one out when I finish this program!
kookyrunner says
Yeah I was super bummed about the pizza cause I was looking forward to it, lol.
I did Emma’s first Crush Your Core program and really enjoyed it! I will probably do the second program sometime this year too.
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
You had a great week of workouts, Kim! What a bummer that the pizza wasn’t all that great.
Those memes are great – I love the one with the pen.
kookyrunner says
The pen meme is my favorite, lol.
Liz Dexter says
Great workouts, well done, and love the memes as always. I’m so far behind with my blog reading, sorry!!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Liz!
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
Well yeah, that pen was amazing!! π It’s always great to have a long weekend. I do complain that whenever we have a Monday holiday (often!) it just messes up my week because I usually have to work on Thursday (because I work Mon-Wed). Lately I’ve been just not working on Thursday and enjoying an extra day off just like my coworkers!
kookyrunner says
I am glad that you have been enjoying the extra day off for Monday holidays – you deserve the break!
Shathiso says
I find the shorter (and more regular) breaks even more beneficial than the long breaks where you often come back more exhausted than you started! So I’m happy you will keep doing this – so good to get that mental break.
kookyrunner says
That’s definitely my mindset too – and it’s also easier to dig out from “email hell” when you only take a few days off vs a week or more.
