Happy Sunday π Did this week seem super long to anyone else? Maybe it’s because the holidays are getting closer, or maybe it’s because I feel like I’ve been going 100 miles per hour since Monday. Either way, it was a busy, but productive week.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, December 9
OrangeTheory Fitness (9 Reps Increasing) – 60 minutes
It felt good to be back at OTF after my Toronto trip. It was an endurance workout so it was pretty rough but the hardest part was the increasing reps during the floor portion of the workout. The weights were moderate but the extra reps made me feel like my arms were going to fall off!
Tuesday, December 10
Peloton Cycle (60 minutes).
It felt good to get back on the bike! I took four 15 minute ‘Move for More’ classes. Peloton is donating $5 to Action for Healthy Kids for every member that takes 3 of these themed classes. I love the concept of working out for charity.
Tuesday was also my company holiday luncheon. I tried to spread some Christmas cheer, not many people appreciated it though, LOL.
Wednesday, December 11
OrangeTheory Fitness (11 pikers piking) – 60 minutes
I think that this ranks in the top 3 of hardest OTF classes I’ve ever taken. It was a technically a power workout but felt more like an endurance workout because of all the switches between the rower and the treadmill. The floor block was hard because we had to do 45 seconds of pikes with the ab dolly (aka Satan’s Skateboard) after each block. I literally lost count of how many pikes we did – it was brutal.
Thursday, December 12
OrangeTheory Fitness (12 Runners Running) – 60 minutes.
This was probably my favorite class during the 12 Days of Fitness because it had longer treadmill blocks. This was the last class of the 12 Days of Fitness and my 7th class so I completed the challenge. Unfortunately my studio was out of socks but I was able to pick them up the next day.
Friday, December 13
OrangeTheory Fitness – Endurance (60 minutes).
Wearing the shirt I earned during Hell Week in October was appropriate for this Friday the 13th workout. I also dubbed this the 13th Day of Fitness workout, lol. The 13 push paces on the treadmill almost killed me!
Saturday, December 14
Rest Day.
I planned on getting in a run in the morning but it was pouring. Then I decided that I would sleep in a little bit longer and do it on the treadmill. Well that didn’t happen either. I volunteered later on in the morning and then when I got home I didn’t feel like doing anything. To be honest, I think I needed a rest day so that’s what I did, but I got in a quick core workout to keep my #holidaysweat streak alive.
My sister and I also worked on a Gingerbread House. This was my first time doing one – I don’t think it came out too bad, lol.
Sunday, December 15
OrangeTheory Fitness (Power) – 60 minutes.
Originally I wasn’t going to take class today, but I found out on Friday that the instructor is moving to Florida so next Saturday will be her last class π She is one of my favorite instructors so I’m totally bummed, but I’m going to try to take as many classes as I can with her next week.
Total Weekly Mileage: 10 miles
Summary: 5 runs, 4 cycle classes and 5 OTF workouts
Grade This Week β B
This week I felt like I really got into the holiday spirit. I finally got the chance to wear my crazy holiday sweater from Kohl’s, and I continued with wearing holiday themed shirts for the 12 Days of Fitness workouts. I actually didn’t know I had so many holiday shirts until I pulled them all out! It made the workouts a little more fun.
Now that 12 Days of Fitness is over, I will most likely scale back to 3, maybe 4 days of OTF workouts, so that I have time for runs and cycle. While I still really enjoy running and cycle, those OTF workouts really challenge me and they also bring me a lot of joy. When I first got into running, I had that “spark”. I don’t really know how to describe it but it was an excitement. I wanted to run all the miles and do all the things when it came to running. Honestly, I don’t really feel that way about running anymore. I still enjoy it, but I don’t wake up necessarily wanting to do it. I will never totally give up running, but with OTF, 99% of the time I’m pumped and really can’t wait to see the workout for the day. I’m sure that might change over time, but right now I’m just listening to my mind and body and OTF is my happy place for the time being.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Wow, what an amazing week at the OTF! I donβt think I could do that for 2 days in a row, never mind 12 days!
Why do you give yourself a -B? You deserve a straight A for that! ππ»
Love the holiday themed T-Shirts! And the Gingerbread house looks so sweet π
kookyrunner says
I didn’t do all 12 days, but I know someone that did. I have no clue how anyone could have done that but more power to them! π
Kimberly Hatting says
Are all those characters channeling their inner Usain Bolt with that pose? Cute shirt! YOU have really been rocking the OTF, I’m glad it’s been a great fit for you π
kookyrunner says
LOL thanks #kimtwin π I thought the shirt was super cute. I swear you can find anything on Amazon π
Wendy says
The way you feel about OTF is how I feel about CrossFit! Running will always be my first love, but I’m so enjoying the crosstraining! I hate to miss–and I have to miss tomorrow to go pick up the boy from Madison.
kookyrunner says
I figured that you felt the same way about CrossFit! I’ve always loves cross training but doing OTF has made me love it even more.
Deborah @ Confessions of mother runner says
Way to crush it at OTF this week. You look like you had lots of fun. I have to get back on the core strength classes on Peloton. Thanks for reminding me! Have a great week
kookyrunner says
Thanks Deborah! Yes, I have been lacking on the core exercises on the Peloton app. I think I’m gonna make a mini challenge for myself to get in at least 5 mins of core work a day in January.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
It does seem as though OTF is crack to people. π Too rich for my blood (even though there’s one really close to me).
I love all your holiday shirts/sweaters.
I think we always need something new to shake things up!
kookyrunner says
Hahaha I think that’s a good way to describe it – it’s super easy to get hooked on it.
Jessie says
OTF seems like a great fit for you! My sister just started going and is loving it. Such an efficient workout!
kookyrunner says
It really is! And I love that the workouts are always different.
Montana @ Pretty Lil Mudder says
You already know I love that shirt and haha to Satan’s Skateboard! I totally agree. I’ve used those things before and they are horrible lol. And I love your Christmas spirit!
kookyrunner says
OMG Satan’s Skateboard and I are still not on speaking terms, lol.
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
I think it’s great that OTF is where your heart is right now. Running and cycling will always be there, it’s nice to have something new in the mix. I think I’ve said before that the only reason I haven’t tried it is that the studio near my house is always booked solid, and well, running is my “spark” right now.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I think I was looking for something new to mix things up and I’m glad that I found it.
Darlene says
Wow. What fun and active week in OTF.
Love the shirts.
My week was pretty dull. Miss running.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Darlene. I hope that your foot is feeling better and that you can get back to running soon.
Marcia says
You’ve been so committed to your OTF workouts. Kudos! You also have probably the best and most fun holiday shirt/sweater collection. It’s sad your coworkers are not in the holiday spirit this year. π
kookyrunner says
Thanks Marcia! I don’t take it personally about the lack of holiday spirit. Some people just have the Grinch as their spirit animal lol.
Coco says
Good thing you took that rest day. You did a lot of tough OTF workouts this week. The socks are fun!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Coco! I love the socks but I don’t know if I’ll be able to workout in them because they are so thick!
Liz Dexter says
Loving all your strong pictures and great holiday tops – and love those socks too! Well done on such a strong week – and well done for taking that rest day, too!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Liz!
Chaitali says
Sounds like a great week, and I love all the holiday shirts! The gingerbread house looks great π
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I was happy the gingerbread house came out somewhat decent lol
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
Such an awesome week – I don’t think you graded yourself high enough! Congrats on earning your socks! And, you know how much I loved all of your holiday shirts π
While I’ve only been doing OTF a couple of weeks I can see why you love it so much!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Michelle! It’s easy to get hooked on OTF. I guess I drank the koolaid, lol. But I’m really enjoying it so far.
Angela Campos says
I am loving all of your holiday themed tops! I think you did a great job on your gingerbread house!! I love making them with my kids during Christmas!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Angela!
Zenaida Arroyo says
Love all of your shirts!!! Wow! Way to go with the Peloton and OTF workouts. I got tired just reading them about it. π
kookyrunner says
thanks!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
Holy moly that’s a lot of OT classes! High fives to you!
Even though your coworkers didn’t like your sweater, I do!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Debbie! I like the sweater too – I’m going to wear it on Christmas π
Cari says
Deer Pong, I love it. I couldn’t find my favorite holiday shirt – gingerbread man saying “eat more fruitcake!” but luckily it was at mom’s so I wore it all week to sleep in.
Well done on the socks!
kookyrunner says
Hahaha that gingerbread shirt sounds great!
