Happy Sunday! Although it’s been a pretty heavy week due to world events, I hope that everyone was able to find a bit of normalcy despite all the chaos. Also, how is tomorrow the last day of February? This month flew by.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, February 21
BHM Block Party Ride 2/15/22 – Ally (30 minutes)
BHM Block Party Shadowboxing 2/18/22 – Kendall (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
Full Body Strength 3/11/21 – Jess (15 minutes)
Pete Tong Club Classical Stretch 2/21/22 – Ben (10 minutes)
I had the day off for President’s Days I decided to take a later OTF class. I think everyone had the same idea – it was packed!
Tuesday, February 22
Soul Run 2/15/22 – Jeffrey (30 minutes)
House Ride 2/19/22 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Core Strength 1/12/22 – Marcel M (15 minutes)
Jeffrey is one of the new tread instructors in Germany and this was my first class with him. He did occasionally speak in English which was great, but I really enjoyed the class even though I didn’t understand 90% of what was said, lol. The playlist was really good for a lowkey run – its had Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, The Supremes, Barry White – just to name a few. At OTF we had a strength day and I really tried to focus on upping my weights during the floor block of class. So much so that my arms were sore the rest of the day – ouch!
Wednesday, February 23
BHM Block Party Power Walk 2/7/22 – Kirsten (30 minutes)
Bootcamp Warm Up 2/15/22 – Daniel (10 minutes)
Saturday60: Full Body Advanced Bootcamp 2/19/22 – Jess (60 minutes)
WHM Celebration Ride 3/27/21 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Focus Flow: Hips 11/9/21 – Kristin (10 minutes)
I was really struggling in the morning so I decided to do my workout after logging off work for the day. It was unreasonably warm (almost 70 degrees!) and I didn’t have any meeting scheduled between 12-1pm, so I decided to head outside for a 30 minute walk to enjoy the weather and it was great. I haven’t done that in months and it was great to get out of the house.
After work I made up the Saturday60 boot camp that I missed over the weekend – and it was brutal. Her boot camps are no joke so her advanced boot camps are insane! Also, nothing like a hips focused yoga class to let you know how tight your hips really are – especially after a workout!
Thursday, February 24
Warm Up Walk 2/2/22 – Jermaine (10 minutes)
A Tribe Called Quest Run 2/23/22 – Chase (30 minutes)
A Tribe Called Quest Ride 2/23/22 – Robin (30 minutes)
A Tribe Called Quest Upper Body Strength 2/23/22 – Rad (30 minutes)
A Tribe Called Quest Yoga Flow 2/23/22 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
A Tribe Called Quest is the final Artist Series for BHM so I decided to stack all of the classes together. Rad’s class was tough toward the end – 30 minutes of upper body work had my arms and shoulders on fire!
Friday, February 25
Pre-Run Warm Up 2/5/20 – Robin (5 minutes)
WHM Celebration Run 3/21/21 – Adrian (30 minutes)
Upper Body Strength 1/10/22 – Marcel M (10 minutes)
WHM Celebration Ride 3/20/21 – Tunde (30 minutes)
HIIT Cardio 1/28/22 – Jess (20 minutes)
Full Body Stretch 12/30/21 – Marcel M (5 minutes)
Adrian’s class felt a little disorganized – the playlist and random chatter of facts – but there were minimal inclines so it was a nice easy run. Tunde’s ride was SO good – probably one of the best classes I’ve ever taken with her.
Saturday, February 26
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (90 minutes)
Neo Soul Yoga Flow 2/2/22 – Kirra (30 minutes)
I completed my first 90 min OTF since 2019! I was a little nervous but it actually ended up being a very fun class. We’re halfway through the Transformation Challenge so the class was Marvel movie themed (our studio’s theme for challenge is “The Avengers”). It was nice to see so many people get into the spirit by dressing up. After I ate lunch and showered, I did a yoga class to get in a great stretch.
Sunday, February 27
TBD
I’ve been running errands all morning and will do some cleaning this afternoon so I’ll do something later on today – probably a ride and a strength class.
Summary:
Running – 14 miles
Cycle – 29.38 miles
Strength Training – 70 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 180 minutes
Bootcamps – 60 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 527/530
My workouts were okay this week – a few days I felt like I was just going through the motions. I even slept in two days which is rare for me. I think I was just feeling a little bored with my workouts. I’ll see how the next week goes and if I still feel the same way I’m going to make some adjustments to my workouts.
Yesterday I started watching season 2 of Love is Blind on Netflix. I watched season 1 and liked it, but so far this season is so-so. A few of my friends keep telling me how good it is so I’ll keep watching to see if it gets better. I also feel like I have a few more Netflix shows and documentaries to catch up on too.
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week š
Iām linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
In Case You Missed It

Ha ha, great memes (as always). I have noticed a LOT of German classes in recent weeks on Peloton…I skim right over them because I don’t take enough classes to justify the frustration in the language barrier (though I’m sure the cues are helpful?). Rad’s classes are always tough! He’s one of my favorites for strength, but I always walk away with my muscles on fire!
kookyrunner says
I have seen an uptick in the German classes too. I hope that means they will offer more English subtitles for those classes. The cues are normally good but having the instructions in English is better.
Liz Dexter says
Great strong work as ever – amazing tenacity!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Liz!
Deborah Brooks says
We had a few of those confusing weather days here as well this week. I also miss precedented times! Good for you for taking classes in German. I did that once by accident for a stretch class and no. I think we all have weeks where we feel like we are going through the motions. Hope you have a good one ahead!
kookyrunner says
I would love to have some precendented times – a sense of normalcy would be great! I struggle with the German classes because I like the instructors, but I have to be in the right mind set to really pay attention to the cues since I can’t understand them, lol.
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
I looks like you had a great week of workouts – too bad that Monday’s class was crowded, but I know how busy gyms get on holidays.
Two years already – it seems like time has both flown by and stood still…
Have a great week!
kookyrunner says
Yeah the studio is always a bit more crowded on holidays, but it’s always nice to see people that i normally don’t see during the weekday classes.
Jenny says
Ha, why do I somehow know that a 60 minute bootcamp class with Jess Sims would be brutal? You had a great week of workouts as usual. I’ll be interested to see what you do to shake things up, if you decide to do that.
Great memes as always- yes, I’d like to drop my body off at the gym! I’ll pick it up when it’s gotten a nice tune-up.
kookyrunner says
Every time I log in for a 60 minute boot camp with Jess I say a silent prayer, lol.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
As always, thanks for the laughs, Kim! Sorry the workouts were feeling stale. it’s a hard time when Winter just seems to drag on and on . . .
Although I’m totally jelly of that 70 degree day. Sure, were were warm-er — but nowhere near that warm!
I mistakenly took a cycle class recently that was in Spanish. Luckily only a 10 min WU. Even though I took Spanish in HS. Didn’t really have time to look for something else!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy. Yeah, I think that Winter could have something to do with my workouts feeling a little blah this past week.
It can be hard to take the classes in Spanish or German – I do wish that they offered English subtitles for more of the classes.
Wendy says
We haven’t had those warm days at all! Today we are in the 40s and it feels like a heatwave. I didn’t want to stop running. Nice work as always–you are so dedicated to those peloton workouts. I bet the OTF Avengers is fun–did you dress up?
Have a great week!
kookyrunner says
I hope that you get some warmer days soon – it’s nice to get a break from the brutal cold, even if just for a day! I did dress up for the OTF Avengers class on Saturday, even had a cape, lol.
Marcia says
Omg what is it with everyone EXCEPT us getting shots of warm weather? Like Wendy said, we’re just not so far, although there’s a whisper of it actually hitting 50 this week, so I won’t complain. The memes are so funny, as always. I totally need a laugh right about now. SO many people have mentioned Love Is Blind lately. I need to check it out but I doubt the Caveman will get on board. Ha!
kookyrunner says
I feel like Illinois has opted out of any type of Spring like weather these past few weeks! I do hope you get at least one warmish day soon.
I finished Love is Blind yesterday – it was truly a train wreck lol.
Michelle says
Thank you for the memes – I definitely needed a good giggle š Though it is crazy to think that we’re approaching the two-year mark!
The Avengers-themed OTF class sounds like fun!
I hope you’re feeling better about your workouts this week. Maybe it’s time for a rest day?
kookyrunner says
Glad to provide a weekly giggle with the memes š I ended up taking a rest day yesterday and just did a few stretches so I hope that will provide a nice reset for me.
Coco says
Gosh, Kim, it looks like a solid week of workouts to me. You do a LOT between Peloton and OTF. I need to get over my fear of Tunde and take some of her rides.
LOL on the meetings tweet. Back in the day we had group meetings *3 days a week* so the leader could organize his thoughts.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Coco! Part me think I may be doing too much trying to keep up with Peloton and OTF. I might pull back a little bit and see if that makes me feel better.
That meetings tweet is my life at least once a week – it’s so annoying!
Jenn says
I miss precedented times, too. Sigh.
I always feel like I’ve been through your workouts with you. You are so incredibly descriptive and amazing in your reviews.
Bye, February! Let’s hope March gets it together!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Jenn! I always try to write a quick workout recap not too long after my workout so that I can provide the most details.
Jessie says
Awesome week of workouts Kim!
I “saved” love is blind for a treadmill show and I haven’t made it to the wedding episode yet, almost there. I did see a few spoilers on social media and am excited for the reunion. I was sucked into it! I like that it was in Chicago too, fun change.
The east coast had some really nice weather! I’m jealous. I am so over winter at this point and Minneapolis is due to get another icy snowstorm this weekend. Guess I need to find another treadmill show š
kookyrunner says
Love is Blind is a great treadmill show. You’ll have to let me know how you like it!
