Happy Sunday. I’m still in disbelief that today is the last day of July. It was a brutally hot month so I’m happy to see it go, but just surprised at how quickly the month flew by. Here’s a rundown of my workouts for the week.
Monday, July 25
Walk + Run 3/3/22 – Jess (45 minutes)
Cool Down Walk 3/28/22 – Joslyn (10 minutes)
Fit Family Brain Break Cardio 7/11/22 – Jess (5 minutes)
Fit Family Brain Break Cardio 7/11/22 – Jess (5 minutes)
Strength Roll Call: Full Body Strength 7/25/22 – Jess (45 minutes)
#nevermissamonday! The walk + run class was perfect for a Monday morning. After the warm up, the class was focused on 4 minutes or running followed by 4 minutes of powerwalking on an incline. We repeated that 5 times. I had some time in-between the cool down walk and the strength class so I took 2 of Jess Sims’ Fit Family Brain Break classes. It was a nice way to keep my body warm before heading into the strength class. It was a milestone strength class for me (#700) and Jess definitely disappoint – 9 AMRAPs with a 7 minute EMOM finisher. I was toast afterwards.
Tuesday, July 26
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Andrew Lloyd Webber Run 7/20/22 – Tobias (30 minutes)
Arms & Shoulders Strength 5/13/22 – Tunde (15 minutes)
Dance Music: Power Flow Yoga 5/14/22 – Mariana (30 minutes)
We finally got a break in the crazy heat and humidity! Hopefully we won’t have another heatwave for a while. The OTF class focused on heavy weights for the strength section of class so I have a feeling my legs are gonna be feeling that workout tomorrow. Decided to do the ALW run to get in a few more miles for the day. I have no clue how Tobias was able to do the entire run in a blazer. That takes
dedication!
With the Arms & Shoulders class I also completed The Annual 2022 Challenge with 20,000 minutes for the year. Last year they added extra tiers so if they do that this year, I’ll have another goal to hit.
Wednesday, July 27
Arms & Shoulders Strength 5/13/22 – Tunde (20 minutes)
Intervals Run 1/2/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
Together We Ride 5/13/22 – Robin (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Future Power Yoga 7/27/22 – Mariana (20 minutes)
It was another theme day at OTF – Disco Day! This is always a fun one to dress up for and other members get in the spirit too. It was nice to have fun outfits to laugh at during class because the class itself was pretty brutal. It took my mind off of all the inclines on the treadmill.
I also finished up week 4 of the Arms with Tunde program. The last class was 20 minutes and was definitely the hardest class of the series, but it was also a great class to measure progress. In my case I didn’t increase the number of sets, but I did increase my weights which made me happy. It was nice to see progress. My arms still don’t look like Tunde’s so that is disappointing lol.
Thursday, July 28
HIIT Ride 5/15/22 – Cliff (15 minutes)
Future Shadowboxing 7/27/22 – Kendall (20 minutes)
Future Run 7/27/22 – Marcel (30 minutes)
Future Bike Bootcamp 7/28/22 – Jess (45 minutes)
I took advantage of a day without a bunch of meetings and hopped on the live bike bootcamp class. All of the Future classes were great, especially the run. Marcel’s energy and playlist carried me through that class, which made the class go by quickly.
Friday, July 29
Andrew Lloyd Webber Walk 7/20/22 – Matty (30 minutes)
EDM Ride 5/14/22 – Mila (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
For OTF, we had timed exercises on the floor for the strength block. Thee type of workouts usually happen about once a month and I really appreciate them because it’s something different and it forces you to focus more on form vs. reps.
Saturday, July 30
Pre-Run Warm Up 11/22/21 – Matt (5 minutes)
Saturday60: Advanced Full Body Bootcamp 7/30/22 – Jess (60 minutes)
Cool Down Walk 4/20/22 – Matty (10 minutes)
Grounded Slow Flow Yoga 5/13/22 – Ross (45 minutes)
I haven’t done a live Saturday60 class in about a month so of course I was welcomed back with an advanced class, lol. The class had a total of 30 sprints, and that was just for the treadmill segments. The strength segments were hard too. The grounded slow flow yoga class was a nice way to decompress after the bootcamp class and breakfast.
Sunday, July 31
Future Ride 7/27/22 – Alex (30 minutes)
Thunder45: Future Bootcamp 7/31/22 – Adrian (45 minutes)
Cool Down Walk 3/16/22 – Robin (10 minutes)
Standing Yoga 12/14/21 – Kirra (10 minutes)
Instead of doing a typical post-ride stretch, I did a standing yoga class after my ride and before my bootcamp class. I really liked this change and my muscles felt more relaxed for the bootcamp class. Doing bootcamps back to back on the weekend wasn’t the smartest idea, but I really wanted to take both of them live so here we are, lol. As Paul, Adrian didn’t disappoint and the last 5 minutes of class were insane. Of course he does it all with a smile on his face š
Summary:
Running – 18.3 miles
Cycle – 28.15 miles
Strength Training – 80 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 180 minutes
Bootcamp – 105 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 660/662
It was a nice mix of workouts this week. I haven’t done a bike bootcamp in a few weeks so that was one, especially since it was a live class with Jess. The live classes are always a lot of fun because of the constant high fives from other members.
Did you see SoulCycle’s epic marketing fail this week? If not, here’s a link to their Instagram post. They actually changed the caption a bit because it used to say “in exchange for 57 studio classes”. Okay, even if I wasn’t a Peloton user, this is just such a dumb marketing ploy for so many reasons.
1. As someone that works in communications, I’m actually embarrassed for them. Who approved this? There had to be a strategy meeting around this, which is also troubling because that means multiple people thought this was a great idea?
2. It comes across as desperate and petty. It screams “We’re jealous of our competition”.
3. It’s not even a good deal! Why on earth would someone trade in a bike that costs $1,000+ for just a few in-studio rides?
Okay, rant over š
…and now for this week’s memes.

This is why I just stick to Scott toilet paper with 1,000 sheets per roll, lol.

At this point, I might ask the cow for a ride to wherever he’s going
That’s it! I hope you had a great week š
Iām linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
In Case You Missed It
Tuesday Topics: My Second PeloFondo
holy smokes! You are at 20K on Peloton?! I am at like 9K. I don’t do any runs so I guess I am a slacker lol. Impressive girlfriend! Toilet paper math is super hard indeed I never get it
Yes the runs and meditation classes definitely help to add on the minutes quickly!
I gave up on toilet paper math in my 20s lol
I saw that Soul Cycle campaign and I scratched my head. I had the same thought–who would trade in their bike for classes in the studio? The way things are going, we need our home equipment! Congrats on 20k on the Peoloton. You are so dedicated!
Right?! It was just such a bizarre marketing move and I highly doubt they will get any takers on their offer.
Well, you’re the Peloton queen! I did have a chuckle at the fact that you finished Tunde’s arm program but your arms don’t look like hers… I don’t think many of us will ever achieve Tunde arms!
I’m laughing at the toilet paper meme… so true. And, I agree- July sped by so, so quickly!
Haha right? I aspire to get just a fraction of the definition that Tunde has in her arms!
20k! You are amazing.
Another great week to f workouts. You are so dedicated.
Love those disco outfits.
Thanks Darlene! The disco outfits were fun to wear but not so fun to workout in, lol
Congrats on 20K minutes! That’s over 333 hours and at 30 weeks into the year, that’s over 11 Peloton hours per week. You certainly are getting your monies worth! And yes, Peloton math is easier than toilet paper math. š
I love your picture from your disco themed workout at OTF.
Wow I didn’t break down the math like you did for number of hours per week – thanks for that!
WOWZA!!!! You are dominating the Peloton world!! Proud of you, KimTwin!! OMG, the toilet paper math, LOL…so true! And, it’s great to see another Tunde gal š I’m halfway through the Arms with Tunde program. To me, it doesn’t seem that challenging…yet. I’m pretty sure there will some upper-body whooping before it’s all over. I love the disco pics š
The toilet paper math meme still makes me laugh. I often wonder why the manufacturers make it so difficult!
I love the disco getups! Congrats on 20k! That is amazing! I was proud of myself for 10k! Haha!
Thanks Marcia!
20K – wow! You are just crushing it on Peloton!
That Soul Cycle ad had me screaming – who approved this?!? It was bad on so many levels.
Loved the memes this week – that is so me carrying bags in from the driveway LOL
Thanks! I thought it would take me longer to reach 20K but all of the classes add up so quickly!
The Soul Cycle ad was just wrong on so many level, and it made them look soooo tacky.
Ok, I’m exhausted just looking at your workouts this week. You are absolutely on fire!
I can’t believe SoulCycle. I get that they maybe wanted to be edgy, but yikes. It just did NOT work. I don’t know if they apologized or kept going with it, but I’m not super impresed.
Totally agree with you – I think SoulCycle *tried* to be edgy, but it just came off as petty and dumb. They still haven’t apologized for it!
‘Wow, congrats on 20K! What a feat! And wow, so many workouts and peloton stacks you have going on. I’m jealous – I stilll haven’t gotten on the peloton bandwagon but it does seem so much fun!
Thanks so much! If you ever want to try Peloton, let me know and I can help to answer any questions š
Wow congrats on 700! Thats such a huge accomplishment!
I did not see Soul Cycle’s marketing fail but that does seem very dumb. I hate when companies crap on the competition. Why not just talk up your own product and leave the negativity out of it? It’s been happening a lot in OCR lately and it really upsets me. We can just all like different things without having to complain about the things we don’t like or put them down. Live and let live I say.
I love that grocery meme. I’m definitely a one trip bitch.
Thanks Montana! It’s probably a good thing you didn’t see the SoulCycle crap because it was just so annoying. I didn’t know something similar was happening in the OCR world. That is disappointing š
Wow on the 20K minutes! I was just doing the math to see if I could reach it by the end of the year ā I will have to plan carefully unless I want to spend the last week of the year exercising. š Congrats on the 700th strength to. I think going up in weights in the Tunde program is a huge sign of getting stronger ā nice work.
Another dumb thing about the SoulCycle gimmick was that it was limited to the first 100 people, so it really was just a gimmick.
Thanks Coco!
Oh wow I didn’t know that it was limited to the first 100 people. Yup, that makes it even worse, lol.
