Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week. Did you know that this is the first time in 30 years that Passover, Easter and Ramadan crossover? I love that all 3 major holidays are around the same time. It’s been really interesting to see all the different celebrations on the news and on social media.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, April 11
Orangetheory Fitness (45 minutes)
Rock Run 3/29/22 – Andy (30 minutes)
90s Ride 2/7/22 – Cody (20 minutes)
Pop Ride 4/30/21 – Leanne (30 minutes)
#nevermissamonday! Andy had a great playlist for the rock run. I haven’t done a ride with Cody in a while so that was a rare treat. Leanne is a ray of sunshine on the bike so I always enjoy her classes.
Tuesday, April 12
Saturday60: 2010s Bootcamp 4/9/22 – Jess (60 minutes)
Cool Down Walk 1/11/22 – Susie (10 minutes)
80s Rock Ride 5/2/21 – Sam (30 minutes)
Unfortunately I couldn’t enjoy this workout that much since work interrupted me about halfway through. It was a crazy, crazy workday!
Wednesday, April 13
90s Pop Run 3/15/22 – Marcel M (20 minutes)
Sweat Steady Ride 5/1/21 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
I don’t ride with Jess King often but her sweat steady ride was great!
We had the Inferno signature workout at OTF. Basically you alternate between the treadmill and rower. For the first block you row 100 meters, then run 0.1 on the treadmill. You run the same amount every time you go back to the treadmill, but increase your row by 100 meters every time you hit the rower. It was fun, because I love the run/row template, but it was hard too!
Thursday, April 14
HIIT Run 11/25/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
80s Ride 4/20/21 – Jenn (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (45 minutes)
Power Zone Ride 4/20/21 – Ben (30 minutes)
The HIIT run with Jess was great – I loved the way she programmed the class. During the OTF class we focused on inclines on the treadmill and slow and controlled moves on the floor, including some work with the TRX straps.
Friday, April 15
Power Walk 4/1/22 – Matty (60 minutes)
Arms & Light Weights 4/6/22 – Tunde (10 minutes)
Loved Matty’s power walk class. Even though it was a 60 minute class, his stories and random facts made the class go by rather quickly.
Saturday, April 16
90s Walk 3/27/22 – Marcel D (45 minutes)
Arms & Light Weights 3/1/22 – Tunde (10 minutes)
Arms & Light Weights 2/1/22 – Tunde (10 minutes)
Rock Yoga Flow 2/10/22 – Kristin (20 minutes)
The 90s walk with Marcel was hilarious – she is so much fun! I doubled up on Tunde’s arms & light weights classes and immediately regretted that decision – holy arm burn!
Sunday, April 17
Soft Rock Walk 9/3/21 – Andy (20 minutes)
Fitness Flipped: Self-Expression (45 minutes)
Arms & Light Weights 2/1/22 – Tunde (10 minutes)
It was a little windy, but I decided to do some outdoor walking this morning. I really enjoyed the soft rock walk. The Fitness Flipped podcast was okay, but I thought that Tunde would be speaking with Matty for some of the episode. I was a little bummed that wasn’t the case, but I loved her conversation with Sterling K Brown. I’ve been a fan of his for a while, even before his role on This is Us. Unfortunately the GPS must have been off on the app and/or my watch because the mileage for both classes was way off. I am going to uninstall and reinstall the app and hope that solves the issue. Halfway through the arms & light weights class I realized that I was repeating the same class from yesterday. Oh well, it was a really good class so I didn’t mind!
Summary:
Running – 10.31 miles
Cycle – 36.23 miles
Strength Training – 40 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 150 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 550/550
As of Thursday I had to stop running and cycling. I’m currently in the process of freezing my eggs and I started injections on Wednesday night. So far I feel great and everything is progressing as it should. I’ve actually been thinking about doing this for a while, and I probably should have done it a few years ago, but I always say better late than never. I’m still not 100% sure if I want to have kids, but I’m doing this so that I will at least have the option if that time comes in a few years. For the next 2-3 weeks I can only do light exercise – like walking, yoga, etc. Although I don’t really miss running, I do miss strength training and lifting heavy. I know this is only temporary so I’m just trying to enjoy what I can do. I figured I will work my way through Tunde’s arms & light weights classes during this down time – and I may just get some great arm muscles out of it!
Earlier this week, Peloton announced that they were raising the monthly subscription fee by $5. Definitely not a big deal, but I think most people were surprised that the fee was not being increased for digital only users, and I totally agree with that. The increase should be for everyone. It also seems a bit odd that they would increase prices for people who own their bikes and treadmills – it’s kind of like penalizing people for buying their products? Of course I’m not going to leave Peloton over this because I do think it’s worth the money, but I can see why people are annoyed.
…and now for this week’s memes.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Oh, wow, on the egg freezing. Thatβs really exciting β and worth the down time for sure.
Oh, Iβve done the same class two days in a row by mistake. I had bookmarked the class because I liked it, so the next day I chose it from among other bookmarked classes without realizing it.
I do feel sort of guilty as an app user β how about I treat you to lunch whenever we manage to get together in IRL?
All your memes are dead on β itβs hard to pick a favorite.
Happy Easter!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Coco. Yes, definitely worth the downtime, I just suck at slowing down/resting, but I’m glad this is forcing me to do both.
Screw Peloton, we are definitely grabbing lunch whenever we get to meet IRL, lol.
Hope you had a wonderful Easter!
Michelle says
All of your memes had me chuckling π I was a little surprised by the increase from Peloton for bike & tread users too.
Very exciting about your decision to freeze your eggs! I hope the whole process goes smoothly for you.
Happy Easter!
kookyrunner says
Yeah I think Peloton just needs to be consistent with the price increase. I will admit it was kind of funny reading comments from people about it on social media. Some people really need to take a chill pill!
Thanks for the good wishes on the egg freezing process – so far, so good.
Deborah Brooks says
oh wow looking forward to hearing more about your egg freezing experience. Always great to have options! Your OTF workout sounds intense! Way to fit it all in this week. I need to try some of the powerwalks too. It will be nice to do something different this week for you. Love the memes!
kookyrunner says
Yes, definitely good to have options and so far the process has not been too bad.
The OTF workouts this week were really intense for some reason – it kind of made me glad I have to take off a few weeks, lol.
Chocolaterunsjudy says
As always thanks for the meme laughs! I think freezing your eggs is a smart move. Always good to have options.
I will bet you a price increase for digital users (aka moi) will not be that far off. π
Happy Easter!
kookyrunner says
You’re welcome for the laughs! I really enjoyed the memes I saw this week, lol.
Darlene says
Good luck with egg freezing. I think itβs a smart move.
Love a good chuckle. Thanks for those memes.
Always an active week of workouts. Where do you get the energy?
kookyrunner says
Thanks Darlene, and glad that you enjoyed this week’s memes π

So, we have another member of the Tunde fan club π I’ve just been going through all the arms/shoulder workouts in chronological order to keep track (it helps seeing the checkmark to know I’ve already done them, LOL). It’s amazing how “heavy” those 3-pound eights feel after 10 minutes! I’m excited for you freezing your eggs…I remember you mentioning that a few years ago. Good luck with everything <3
kookyrunner says
Yup, I’ve always been a fan of Tunde from her rides but now I’m loving her arms & light weights classes too! Those 3 pound weights get heavy, fast! I can’t imagine doing those classes with 5lb weights.
Jenny says
Wow, this is exciting! Great idea to freeze your eggs, and I’ll be interested to hear more about this journey. In the meantime it’s always nice to switch things up- you might discover some new workouts that you like. Then you’ll be happy to gt back to heavy lifting when it’s time. Good luck with everything!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jenny! It’s been a very interesting process so far but I haven’t had any side effects from the medication so I’m happy for that. I’m trying to enjoy more downtime now but I do miss my strength training workouts!
Wendy says
What a great idea to freeze your eggs! There are so many options now, if and when you decide to use them. I always say no matter how it happens, you get to have a baby and that is the greatest gift. Enjoy the downtime–I know it’s hard, but look at it as a chance to give your body some rest!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Wendy! I’m glad I finally got over my fear and did it. I know it was the right decision and will give me options further down the road.
Marcia says
Wow I’m so excited that you’re freezing your eggs. Way to think ahead and give yourself options. The Pelo increase is weird. I can totally understand why you’d be miffed. Hope your Easter was wonderful. The memes are hilarious and spot on as always!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Marcia!
Jenn says
Great week!
I didn’t realize it was so rare for these three holidays to overlap! I hope that doesn’t mean some other massive upheaval. I can’t take much more!
kookyrunner says
Haha right?! I think we have all had enough “unprecedented” times at this point. Give me normal!
San says
That’s great that you’re freezing your eggs. You never know if that will make a difference down the road. Good luck.
Also, I agree on being a little miffed about the Peloton increase. I am not going to cancel my membership, but I feel a little sour about it as the new CEO had just recently said that they won’t increase the membership and he seemed to also not have listened to the main complain for most people: it’s not the upfront cost for the equipment but the ongoing membership fees, so I am not sure if this will work out for him as expected. We’ll see I guess.
kookyrunner says
Totally agree – you summed up how I felt perfectly. The CEO would have been better off not saying anything in reference to the prices a few months ago because now it looks like he lied.
