Happy Sunday and Happy Mother’s Day! I want to give a big THANK YOU to all of my readers that are moms. Being a mother has to be the hardest job in the world and you awesome ladies do not get enough credit – I salute you!! I hope that all the moms out there have an amazing day and don’t forget to pamper yourself!
Thank goodness that this week was WAY better when it came to my allergies! That’s not to say that I was completely motivated for all of my workouts (lol) but I got it done!
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, May 6
Spinning (50 minutes) + Core (10 minutes)
Back to spinning! I enjoyed a 30 minute pop ride and a 20 minute tabata ride. Man it felt great to get on that bike again – I missed it!
Tuesday, May 7
5 mile run + Full Body Strength (10 minutes).
I wasn’t feeling motivated to do my run so I decided to take two Peloton run classes. It’s great because the music is good and the classes always incorporate a warm up and cool down.
Wednesday, May 8
Boot Camp (60 minutes).
Class wasn’t too crowded this week – once the weather gets nice outside, the gym isn’t as crowded. It was kind of nice because we got to do more work on the different stations that the instructor set up in the room.
Thursday, May 9
3 mile run + Spinning (30 minutes).
I did the spinning class first and HOLY MOLY. I was busting my butt and it showed since I hit a huge output PR. I may have gone a little too hard because I felt pretty nauseous after the ride and had to wait a good 15 minutes before I could do my run.
Friday, May 10
Rest Day, but I did complete a 1 mile walk for the run streak.
Saturday, May 11
5 mile run.
This should have been a longer run but I was really pressed for time since I had two back-to-back morning appointments and a bunch of errands to run. Five miles is better than no miles, so I’m happy with what I was able to get in.
Sunday, May 12
Spinning (65 minutes).
Closed out week #3 of tabata training with a 45 minute hard ride and a 20 minute low impact class. I had to get my workout done early so that I could enjoy brunch with my mom later on today!
Total Weekly Mileage: 12 miles
Summary: 3 runs, 5 spinning class and 3 strength training workouts
Grade This Week ā B+
I wish I could have gotten in more strength training this week. Sometimes I feel like I’m great at balancing all my different workouts – this week was not one of those times, lol. My Saturday run should have been longer (more like 9-11 miles), but I just didn’t have enough time. I will try for a longer run this upcoming Saturday. At least one positive is that I feel more prepared for my upcoming hat marathon in 2 weeks – I just hope it won’t be too crazy hot or humid. Memorial Day weekend is always a crapshoot when it comes to weather.
My foot has been giving me pause lately. I noticed some discomfort after my 10 mile run last weekend. It feels much better now than it did last Sunday but I still want to keep my eye on it. I can’t really describe it – it’s not a sharp pain or sore, but it just feels off.
In honor of Mother’s Day, I wanted to share this awesome deal from Great Larked Gelatin. They are currently hosting a BUY ONE, GET ONE 1/2 off sale (good through May 13th) on their new 10 oz canisters of collagen. Use code LOVEMOM to get this deal (click here to access the deal).
That’s it! I hope you had a great week š
Iām linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Hope you and your mom have a fantastic day together! Looks like a nice solid week for you. You have inspired me to try new Peloton classes.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I had an awesome Mother’s Day brunch with my mom.
Kimberly Hatting says
You are kicking major #Kimbooty with all your Peloton workouts! I am so impressed with your commitment to that š Hope your weather improves…ours has been so icky this week…
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Kim! The Peloton workouts have been a huge help to me this year.
Wendy says
Whatchoo talkin’ about, Willis? You had a great week of workouts! You did something substantial every day which is more than I can say. Enjoy your day with your mom!
kookyrunner says
Aww thanks Wendy! Maybe my week wasn’t too bad after all.
Marcia says
Solid week for you Kim! I don’t think you came up short at all. I noticed my gym is emptier too. Yay! They took the Boot Camp outisde too.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Marcia. I guess I just hate it when I can’t get in longer strength training sessions!
That’s so great that your gym took the boot camp class outside. I wish my gym could do that.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
I think you had a great week – love all the Peloton workouts you’ve been doing! Hopefully, the feeling in your foot won’t turn into a thing.
I know what you mean about Memorial Day weather – how soon can we start stalking? LOL!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Michelle! The Peloton workouts have definitely been super helpful for me this year.
I think we can start stalking the weather next weekend!
Coco says
Glad you felt better this week. You have great discipline and motivation to do double and triple workouts. Iād check the box after the first one. š Hope your foot is ok. Is it time for new shoes!
kookyrunner says
I don’t think that the issue is my sneakers since they have under 100 miles on them. I’ll just have to keep monitoring my foot, especially with a half marathon in 2 weeks!
Laurie says
You are doing great with your rides! Way to go, Kim. I think those Peloton running classes are a great option to keep your interest up in running.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Laurie!
Becca | Rabbit Food Runner says
Solid week of Peloton workouts! I love Robins “funeral for your excuses” quote I might have to use that with my athlete’s this week LOL. Hope the foot continues to mend before your next race. Have a good week!
kookyrunner says
When she said that quote I actually said “Oh snap!” out loud, lol. I really felt that quote!
Black Knight says
Glad the things go better with the allergies. Congrats for the solid week of activities.
kookyrunner says
thanks so much!
Zenaida Arroyo says
I hope you had a GREAT day with your mom!!
You had a great week too – busy as always.
Yikes about the foot. Hopefully it won’t turn into anything serious.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! My foot seems to hurt more after long runs so I just need to continue monitoring it.
Chocolaterunsjudy says
You’re right, it’s always better to do something — much, much better!
I hope your foot & the weather cooperates for your upcoming half.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Judy!
Chaitali says
Those peloton classes all sound so fun! Though that Thursday class sounds a little crazy. I had a pain in my ankle Saturday I was a bit worried about but thankfully it’s gone now. I think it was from having to wear heels all week last week at a conference. I hope your foot is back to normal soon too š
kookyrunner says
The tabata spin class was a wee bit intense, lol. I know that ultimately it will help with my endurance
Darlene says
Spinning followed by running. Holy Moley!
Hopefully everything heals quickly and your race goes well.
I switched to stability shoes and my foot hurts a lot less. Not sure the change is related.
kookyrunner says
I guess spinning followed by running is what they call a brick workout, it’s hard!
Allie says
Looks like a great week to me, even though you said you wanted to run longer, it may be a blessing in disguise since you have a little niggle in that foot!? Hopefully everything will go according to plan for you for race weekend!! And thanks for the mother’s day wishes – there is seriously no harder job than being a mom – whew!!
kookyrunner says
I think you’re right about it possibly being a blessing in disguise. I’m going to run today and I hope that my foot will feel much better.
Jenny Albertson says
Five miles is my long run right now haha. I’m just happy to be back at it!
I keep meaning to try collagen. I’m just always skeptical of things like that actually helping.
kookyrunner says
One of the main benefits I’ve found from collagen is that it has made my hair and nails SO much stronger.
Jenn says
My foot has been meh too. I don’t think anything is particularly wrong, but I’m keeping an eye on it. And getting another new pair of shoes LOL. As i I needed a reason.
You do really do a great job of balancing, although I know what you mean about sometimes not feeling it. It’s hard to sometimes take a step back and see how much we are feeling working our booties off!
kookyrunner says
Sorry to hear you are having a similar foot issue. I hope that the foot issues end for both of us soon.
Liz Dexter says
A good strong week still: I get tired reading about your activities! I’m hoping to get to spin this Thursday …
kookyrunner says
That’s so funny because I always get tired reading about all of your weekly activities!
I hope that you will be able to get to spin this week.
Jessie says
I’m jealous you get to spend the day with your mom! You two seem to have an awesome relationship. It’s wonderful!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Jessie! We discovered running around the same time so I love that it’s something we can do together.
Montana @ Pretty Lil Mudder says
We tried a peloton class before I got hurt and it was really a fun way to shake up running! I’m not much of a treadmill fan but at this point I’d run on anything if I had the ability to run again.
I really need to get back to spinning. Hopefully after this week my ankle feels good enough to let me try a class. So far it’s been too painful to flex like that.
kookyrunner says
I agree – it’s a great way to make treadmill running less boring. I also love a lot of their strength training classes on the app as well.
Sending you all the good vibes for continued healing to your ankle.
