Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving with friends and family. I’m not really one for Black Friday shopping anymore, but I thought it was interesting that most stores started their Black Friday sales waaaayyyy before this past Friday!
Monday, November 22
Peter Maffay Run 11/17/21 – Tobias (30 minutes)
Peter Maffay Ride 11/19/21 – Erik (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Caribbean HIIT Cardio 10/16/20 – Jess (15 minutes)
#Nevermissamonday! I really like starting my week off with an OTF workout when I can. We did declining push-ups (feet on the bench, hands on the ground) during the floor block and I actually liked those better than regular push-ups. I know, I know…something is wrong with me, lol. The Peter Maffay classes were part of Peloton’s Artist Series classes. They were both in German but I actually didn’t mind the music, plus Tobias had the most insane amount of energy during his run so it kept me entertained.
Tuesday, November 23
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (45 minutes)
Hampton Island Preserve Run (1 mile)
Ghost Ranch Run (1 mile)
Sundays with Love Ride 11/21/21 – Ally (30 minutes)
Bodyweight Strength 10/23/19 – Jess (15 minutes)
I ran to the supermarket super early (like 7am) to finish Thanksgiving shopping before going to class. I was so happy to get in and get out without crowds of people – I absolutely hate shopping during this time of year, especially the week of Thanksgiving.
It was another benchmark workout day at OTF – this time for the 500 meter row. I wasn’t expecting to hit a PR and I didn’t (was off by 5 seconds) but my time was still decent. Finished up my workout with a few short scenic runs, a ride and a bodyweight strength class.
Wednesday, November 24
Power Walk 11/23/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
Run + Bodyweight Tread Bootcamp 8/12/19 – Jess (45 minutes)
Bike Bootcamp: Lower Body 9/22/20 – Jess (30 minutes)
Post-Ride Stretch 1/11/21 – Jess (5 minutes)
Spent the morning with my girl Jess and got in a little bit of everything – walking, running, weights and spinning.
Thursday, November 25
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (60 minutes)
Turkey Burn Ride 11/25/21 – Robin (45 minutes)
Fit Fam Live HIIT Cardio 11/25/21 – Jess (30 minutes)
Happy Thanksgiving! I kicked off the morning with an OTF class. I always workout in a turkey costume on Thanksgiving and this year was no different, lol. I also did a live Turkey Burn Ride with Robin which was really good. The HITT cardio class was hilarious – at one point Jess was doing a few moves while wearing a turkey hat. She’s definitely my type of crazy!
And as promised, here’s the turkey costume.
Friday, November 26
Heat It Up Ride 11/26/21 – Hannah F (45 minutes)
Warm Up Walk 8/18/19 – Rebecca (10 minutes)
Turkey Burn Run 11/25/21 – Marcel D (30 minutes)
Glutes & Legs Strength 6/11/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Turkey Burn Yoga Flow 6/25/21 – Ross (45 minutes)
I had planned on doing Adrian’s bootcamp live but there were some technical difficulties and the class wouldn’t load. After about 5 minutes I decided to do Marcel’s Turkey Burn Run from Thanksgiving and it was so good! Ross did a great job with the yoga class – such a great flow and stretch.
Saturday, November 27
Warm Up Walk 8/4/19 – Selena (10 minutes)
Heat It Up Bootcamp 11/26/21 – Adrian (45 minutes)
Turkey Burn Ride 11/25/21 – Alex (45 minutes)
HIIT Cardio 8/25/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
Adrian’s bootcamp ended with 3 minutes of burpees – that should give you an indication of how sweaty that bootcamp was for me, lol. I also really enjoyed Alex’s ride.
Sunday, November 28
Warm Up Walk 6/28/21 – Jess (10 minutes)
Turkey Trot Run 11/26/20 – Matt (45 minutes)
LHM Celebration Run 10/8/21 – Robin (20 minutes)
Beyonce Walk 11/26/21 – Kirsten (20 minutes)
Heat It Up Ride 11/26/21 – Mayla (30 minutes)
It wasn’t too cold or windy this morning so I decided to do a few outdoor classes. I also figured it was time to finally do Matt’s Turkey Trot from last year, lol. Luckily I ended my run just as it started snowing outside. It was a very light snow so I decided to use the Beyonce Walk as a cool down walk and grabbed some coffee before heading back home.
Total Weekly Mileage: 20 miles
Summary: 10 runs*, 6 cycle, 3 bootcamps, 2 yoga and 8 OTF/strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 447/452
Earlier in the week I stopped at Starbucks after an OTF class to try the Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte and it was definitely a waste of money. It basically tasted like warm milk – I wouldn’t recommend it. I’ll try another holiday drink next time. Since they retired my favorite holiday drink a few years ago (Gingerbread Latte), I haven’t found another holiday drink that I enjoy.
There are always so many Turkey Trots on or around Thanksgiving, which offers lots of opportunities for great photos. I think this is the second or third year Kim has designed a Thanksgiving collage. As always, it turned out great!
Although I’m sad that the week is over, I am glad that I had a great week off work. It was a busy week but I made an effort to carve out downtime. On Friday I really didn’t do anything after my workout and it felt great. Also tomorrow is my last day off so I hope that will make it a little easier to ease into the week starting on Tuesday, lol.
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week š
Iām linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Tuesday Topics: Why I’m Thankful for Running
Deborah Brooks says
You always have the best Turkey costume! Hope you and your family had a nice Thanksgiving. I did way too much black Friday shopping but got everything done and then some. Ha! I will have to get some recs from you on the bodyweight classes for my trip as I won’t have weights for a week.
kookyrunner says
That’s great that you got almost all of your shopping done already – that frees up so much time when you don’t have to do last minute shopping! Happy to give some recommendations on body weight classes!
Liz Dexter says
Love the turkey costume!! I did do Black Friday shopping as I needed a new phone (I’ve needed one for a while but waited) and we had to get a new fridge/freezer. I don’t usually, so it was a bit weird!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Liz! The turkey costume is always good for a few laughs and that makes me happy š
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
So glad you had a great week off, Kim! I am so with you on the madness that is grocery shopping at this time of year. I made sure to get out there Monday morning, and that was it — even though it meant that I bought the flowers for my mom on Monday!
Having a variety of turkey trots to choose from is definitely a nice thing!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy! I have two turkey costumes that I’ll continue to alternate, lol. Oh I absolutely hate the grocery stores this time of year – it’s just pure madness.
Wendy says
Love your Thanksgiving costume, but I don’t know how you work out in it! Kind of funny, my hubs is working at Northwestern and he got a bunch of discarded costumes from the theater department for my son. There was a hat in there, a platter with a turkey on it, which was a big hit at Halloween up in Madison. It would have been fun to wear that at a Turkey Trot! Maybe next year, if it survives college, lol
Enjoy your last day off!
kookyrunner says
PMG getting discarded costumes would be a dream for me, lol. I could dress up for every holiday.
Michelle says
I love that you did the OTF class in full costume! I don’t know how you do it!
I’m so glad you had a great week off! And you were so smart to take Monday off as well – I’m definitely having some Sunday afternoon blues thinking about having to go back to work tomorrow LOL
kookyrunner says
The costume isn’t actually that bad since my arms and legs are out – gives my body a chance to breathe, lol. The coach just busted out laughing because she is used to my craziness.
I took off Monday to avoid the Sunday blues tonight!
Coco says
Oh, I am so busted by that iPhone meme. š
Thanks for the warning on Adrianās boot camp. I can handle some burpees, but too many and my body feels broken. Itās had a rough year!
Iām glad you had a good week off and hope the reentry isnāt too rude!
kookyrunner says
Yeah and he also snuck in burpees for the second floor block as well – it was just a lot, lol. And to think I decided to take that class because I didn’t want to do Saturday60 live since it was advanced.
Kimberly Hatting says
Ahem, I also did the Turkey Burn Ride (with Robin) and thought it was fun…she’s very entertaining and fun! I didn’t do it live, though. I think I’ll do Alex’s tomorrow morning š I love the turkey leg meme! Glad you had a nice week at home…you definitely brought it with your workouts!
kookyrunner says
Right?! Robin is the best and always has an attitude of gratitude. She’s also a total badass!
Jessie says
What a busy and active Thanksgiving week! You made the most of it š I haven’t stumbled onto any Peloton classes from other country’s yet- how do you find those?
Happy Thanksgiving!
kookyrunner says
If you go to Preferences on the Peloton App, and then go to Class Languages, you’ll be able to edit it to show classes in German and Spanish. Once you do that you’ll be able to find all the classes from the German/Spanish instructors.
Jenny says
Sounds like you had a great week off! I’m glad you have one more day before you go back to work. Going back on a Tuesday is much less cruel. Love the turkey costume- you definitely know how to celebrate a holiday!
kookyrunner says
Definitely less cruel going back tomorrow vs going back today!
Black Knight says
Glad you had a great week off!
The turkey costume is too nice!!!!
The first 2 memes made me laugh a lot.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the memes š
Meranda@fairytalesandfitness says
Your Turkey costume is great!
I actually thought when you said you “ran” to the store that you actually ran. But then I realized that would be hard to bring stuff back from the grocery store on your run….unless you had a backpack I suppose..lol.
Have a great week!
kookyrunner says
LOL š Sometimes I do “run” errands, especially to the post office.
Darlene S Cardillo says
You win the award for the best thanksgiving costume.
That November is perfect.
Glad you enjoyed your week off. It amazes me each week when I see your workouts. I feel like a slug lol
kookyrunner says
Thanks Darlene! The costume always puts a smile on my face, lol.
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
Wow, what an impressive wattle! š Fun costumes. You had a very busy active week! I agree with you – I hate grocery shopping in general if it’s not before 11am! My husband shops several times a week, around 3pm. That’s a solid No for me!
kookyrunner says
Same! I actually try to only go to the supermarket once a week and always around 7 or 8am. Even before Covid I would do this to avoid the crowds.
Marcia says
Your turkey costume is the best! Glad you had a fun week off. Great job on all the workouts as usual.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Marcia!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
I always love seeing your Thanksgiving turkey workout costume – so fun! As always, your memes are on point!
kookyrunner says
thanks Debbie! Glad you liked the memes š
Jenn says
All hail the turkey costume!
You know, I had the Sugar Cookie latte, but I got mine with regular milk and whipped cream. It was decent, but I prefer peppermint mocha.
Way to get it done through the holiday!
kookyrunner says
I think I will try the peppermint mocha before the season is over – most people I know enjoy that one.
Shathiso says
Is that a turkey mask you have on?! You always kill it with these outfits!!! LOVE! Glad you managed to get time off work to regroup!
kookyrunner says
Haha yes! I found the turkey mask on Etsy last year.
