Happy Sunday. The was the never-ending week so I’m super thankful for a 3 day weekend!
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, February 8
Peloton Bootcamp Warm Up 10/27/20 – Adrian (10 minutes)
Peloton Pop Bootcamp 2/6/21 – Jess (60 minutes)
Peloton Motown Ride 2/23/19 – Alex (30 minutes)
Peloton Full Body Stretch 6/4/20 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton All For One Yoga Warm Up 7/3/20 – Anna (10 minutes)
Peloton Holiday Yoga Flow 12/13/19 – Kristin (20 minutes)
#nevermissamonday! I woke up pretty sore from the Sunday’s Lift 45 class but was still looking forward to the #Saturday60 bootcamp class. It was really a great class but I had a weird glitch. After running for about 9 minutes, I noticed that the mileage reset back to 0 so I lost almost a mile of running! I don’t know if it was a problem with my Apple watch or the app. Thankfully I always look at my treadmill to get the accurate mileage number. Also I highly recommend the bootcamp warm up classes – such a great way to warm up your whole body before tackling an hour of sweat and mayhem, lol. I did 30 minutes of yoga after logging off work because my body felt super tight.
Tuesday, February 9
Peloton Core Strength 9/4/20 – Jess (10 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (60 minutes)
Peloton Move for More: Tabata Ride 12/11/19 – Jess K. (15 minutes)
Peloton Wicked Yoga Flow 1/24/21 – Kristin (30 minutes)
My workday was pretty light on meetings, so I decided to use my lunch hour to take an OTF class. My studio has had a few 60 minute classes on the schedule for months but I have been sticking with the 45 minute classes. This was my first 60 minute class since last March (!) but it actually wasn’t that bad. I did a quick cycle class after the workout to flush out my legs, followed by yoga later on in the evening.
Wednesday, February 10
Peloton All For One Ride 7/2/20 – Multiple Instructors (45 minutes)
Peloton All For One Strength Warm Up 7/3/20 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Pride Full Body Strength 6/29/20 – Rebecca (20 minutes)
Peloton Hike 6/26/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
I simply love the All For One classes. It’s a treat to get to workout with so many of the instructors in one class. I’m looking forward to more All For One classes this year during Peloton’s virtual Homecoming event.
Thursday, February 11
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (45 minutes)
Peloton Wicked Run 1/19/21 – Jess K (20 minutes)
Peloton The Jess King Experience 1/28/21 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Basquiat Celebration Yoga Flow 2/3/20 – Ross (30 minutes)
Very interesting OTF class! It was their first socially-distanced partner row workout. For the first rowing block you alternated rowing 100 meters with your partner. Your partner was on the rower next to you (distanced since we’re still only using odd numbered stations). The second row block was 150 meter rows. It was a lot of fun and it made the class go by rather quickly! The Wicked run ended up being a power walk. I started running but them my hamstring felt a bit tight so I decided to power walk the rest of the class. The JKE ride was fun – Jess K and DJ John Michael always bring the laughs!
Friday, February 12
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (45 minutes)
Peloton BHM UK Celebration Ride 10/13/20 – Hannah F (30 minutes)
Peloton Full Body Strength 8/28/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Another good OTF class. This class had dumbbell snatches – one of my favorite moves. Other than that we had a good rowing block and some inclines on the treadmill. I really enjoyed the ride – great music and Hannah F is a really fun instructor.
Saturday, February 13
Peloton Black History Ride 2/19/19 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Peloton Caribbean Bootcamp 2/13/21 – Jess (60 minutes)
Peloton Post-Run Stretch 12/27/18 – Jess (10 minutes)
Started off the day with an awesome virtual group bike ride. Always fun to start off the day with these ladies!
The music for the bootcamp was so, so good and helped pushed me to finish the hardest part of class, which is always the final 8-10 minutes. After the second treadmill block I noticed that my apple watch lost connection with the app. It finally re-connected but it had wiped out all my mileage – ugh! So frustrating since I lost mileage earlier this week too. Oh well, in the grand scheme of things it’s not that important.
Sunday, February 14
Peloton Pre-Run Warm Up 1/3/19 – Jess (5 minutes)
Peloton Bob Marley Run 2/7/21 – Selena (30 minutes)
Peloton Bob Markey Ride 2/3/21 – Denis (30 minutes)
Peloton Arms & Shoulders Strength 9/16/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Bob Marley Yoga Flow 2/3/21 – Chelsea (45 minutes)
Happy Valentine’s Day! This holiday isn’t a huge deal for me since I’ve been single forever, but I hope that you have a great day if you do celebrate it! I’ll be celebrating by ordering a heart-shaped pizza and enjoying a glass of wine. After grocery shopping early this morning, I enjoyed doing all of these Bob Marley themed classes. I love his music and these were the best classes to close out the week.
Total Weekly Mileage: 12.4 miles
Summary: 6 runs*, 2 bootcamps, 7 cycle, 4 yoga and 7 OTF/strength classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 219/222
Grade This Week β A
On Tuesday after bouncing around on different websites for hours, I was FINALLY able to book my dad’s appointment for the Covid-19 vaccine. The earliest date was March 6 but I’m going to keep checking to see if I can get him an earlier date. Although Connecticut has a better sign-up system in place than most states, I still found it to be ridiculous. Unfortunately my mom cannot get the vaccine at this time due to all of her allergies. I don’t know when or if she will be able to get it, which makes me super anxious, but I know there’s nothing I can do about it. She’s really good about double masking and washing her hands all the time, especially at her job, and she pretty much stays in the house so she’s doing all she can to stay safe.
Work was pretty crappy this week which lead to poor sleeping a few nights. Just a lot of things going on and not enough time to do them. I still feel like I need to catch up on sleep so I hope that next week will be better. One highlight of the week was my gift from the Stay Home Stay Motivated (SHSM) Valentine’s Day Gift exchange. I love this mug!
Switching topics, something that provided me with endless amounts of joy this week was the video of the lawyer on Zoom with the cat filter. I’ve actually lost count of how many times I have watched this video, and I laugh every single time he says “I’m not a cat”. If you haven’t seen the video yet, click here and prepare to laugh!
…and now for this week’s memes π
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Thanks for all the giggles with the memes, as usual!
A class with partner rowing sounds intriguing. I’m sorry your mom can’t get the vaccine. π I have to admit that having my mom get her first dose was a big load off my mind. Me, it could still be months!
kookyrunner says
Totally understand. I don’t care when I get my vaccine but I was really hoping that both my parents could get it now. I’m sad about it but I know it’s better for her to wait because if she takes it now she could have a horrible reaction to it.
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
We haven’t been able to get my parents scheduled for the vaccine yet either. Apparently we are so low on doses right now that not many people are able to get their first one. My mom is not yet eligible because she is 64 and you need to be 65 to get it here, but we haven’t been able to find anywhere for me dad to go. He travels all over the country for work all the time, so we would really like him to get it ASAP!
Great job with all your workouts this week!
kookyrunner says
They just opened up appointments for people 70+ on Thursday yet I couldn’t get my dad an appointment for almost a month. It seemed weird but I was just happy to snag one. I wish the process was easier – it just seems so complicated! I hope that you’re able to get an appointment for your dad soon. I know it will take a load off your mind!
Deborah Brooks says
‘The easy bake oven oh yes I loved mine! Can’t believe we used to eat that stuff! You always give me good ideas for Peloton rides I have not taken yet. Alex’s motown ride will be happening this week. Also hear his anniversary ride is good. Glad your dad got an appt for his vaccine. I am technically eligible and on a waiting list where I have been for the last 4 weeks. Hope to hear soon. Have a great week ahead!
kookyrunner says
I loved my easy bake oven too! The cakes always come out perfect lol.
Alex’s Motown ride was a vibe – the music was so good!
Kimberly Hatting says
OMG, parallel parking! I can only hope any people nearby will show me that same courtesy! My parents are scheduled for their first Covid shot on Wednesday… not sure when the hubs and I will be “in line.” Solid workouts (again) for you, Kim! And, it’s always great seeing you on the ZOOM rides π
kookyrunner says
Thanks! And so awesome to see you and the other ladies yesterday π
So glad that your parents are lined up for their vaccine shots!
Melissa says
I love your virtual rides – those look so much fun. MY parents are scheduled for the vaccine but not until mid-March . Happy Valentine’s Day!
kookyrunner says
The virtual rides are a great way to stay connected – I love them!
Coco says
That parallel parking meme … Iβve gotten better, but suck with an audience β especially my kids. :-(. It sounds like your hamstring didnβt bother you for too long β phew. Iβve bookmarked that Motown ride for tomorrow.
After working all weekend last weekend this week really dragged for me. I got caught up enough to take the weekend off, so Iβll be stressed again this week.
kookyrunner says
The Motown ride was great – I think you’ll enjoy it. The music was excellent!
My hamstring was a little sore today but not tight so it’s definitely on the mend, thankfully!
Wendy says
The lawyer kitty filter Zoom chat was hilarious!!! I didn’t even know that such a thing existed and now I want one. And the funny thing about parallel parking, when I took driver’s ed in the small town where I grew up, they didn’t teach us parallel parking. The instructor said there were no parallel parking spots in our town, so there was no need to learn. Umm, and when I moved to Chicago after college? Yeah, I was screwed. I’ve mastered it quite well now.
Nice week of workouts Kim! Keep us laughing!
kookyrunner says
The cat Zoom mishap was just the thing I needed this week. It provided me with a lot of laughs, LOL.
They did teach us parallel parking in driving school, so I was really great at it for a few years but then I didn’t need to do it in college so I lost all my skills, lol.
Jenny says
Heart shaped pizza??? I want one! For some strange reason I told my family I would bake a heart-shaped cake (two layers, with a strawberry filling) and now I’m kicking myself- what was I thinking? Must stop reading blogs and start baking…
Sounds like you had a great week of workouts! Enjoy your pizza and wine!
kookyrunner says
Two local pizzerias make the heart shaped pizzas and they are so fun! Heart shaped cake sounds really good!
Jessie says
I couldn’t get enough of the legal cat zoom. I belly laughed at it for hours and then would think of it again and start laughing. It was exactly what I needed this week! Long week here too at work. Maybe it’s the winter burn-out?
Glad your dad could get the vaccine appointment. My parents live in MIchigan and only my dad has been able to get an appointment yet, not my mom. It’s crazy! My sister who is a doctor said they were told they can only count on it 100% for 3 months. 3 months! I hope that changes.
kookyrunner says
The cat zoom mishap was the highlight of my week. I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve watched it LOL. You’re right – just what was needed for a crazy work week.
Wow I didn’t hear that it’s only 100% effective for 3 months?! That’s crazy!!
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
I’m glad you were able to get an appointment for your dad – hopefully, your mom will be able to get hers soon! My parents got their first vaccine doses this weekend – I’m so relieved especially since the scheduling here has been a hot mess!
That parallel parking meme made me giggle – I swear I will do almost anything to avoid having to parallel park! LOL
Glad we got to catch up a little on Saturday!
kookyrunner says
So happy that your parents were able to get this first shots already – that’s great! I was actually able to move up my dad’s appointment so he’s going to get his first shot next Sunday.
I am horrible at parallel parking. I used to be so good at it in high school but then I didn’t do it for years and lost all my skills lol
Cari says
Boo on your hammy. I’ve done that Wicked run approximately eleventy times. Second only to Hamilton. Need to do Wicked strength. Maybe Tuesday since I forgot today and Matty already murdered my core.
Glad you were able to get an appointment for your father. Hope your mom can safely soon too. I feel you on the long week. *HUGS*
kookyrunner says
I’m going to do the Wicked strength class tomorrow. I’m looking forward to the fun and pure hell that Matty is going to bring with that class, lol. I’ve heard that his enCORE28 challenge is a killer!
Cari says
Killer but worth it. Except when I sneeze.
Fun and pure hell is apt for Matty
Jenn says
The cat lawyer was everything. Everything.
Your memes always make me so happy!
Great week for you. Sorry for the missing mileage. that would annoy me, too!
Hope this work week is better.
kookyrunner says
I still laugh when I think about the cat lawyer zoom meeting, LOL.
Zenaida Arroyo says
I kept hearing about the lawyer filter but actually just got a chance to watch it now. Wait, what your mom cannot get the vaccine because of her allergies? I am proud to say that I am really good at parallel parking. π
kookyrunner says
Yeah..she’s allergic to a bunch of things, including sulfur, latex, nickel, etc. Basically if she takes the vaccine she could have a sever allergic reaction so it’s not recommended at this time.
Liz Dexter says
Sorry about your mum’s vaccine issues. Here, people are only showing up allergic to one of them – however it’s people with a penicillin allergy, which I have. However they’re saying o no not everyone has that still if they have it as a child. I know I had it as an adult too but it’s not on my medical records when they digitised them. But you can get a test apparently, so I have to try to gt that. We’re inexplicably doing so well with our vaccination programme (thanks to the NHS, not the govt!) that I expect to even get mine by the autumn, and I’m in the lowest priority group!
Great workouts and variety. I am getting to grips with Peleton but no idea how to friend people etc, or know who the good instructors are.
kookyrunner says
I also have a penicillin allergy! My mom does as well, but she’s also allergic to sulfur, nickel, latex. etc.
Let me know if you have any Peloton questions! If I don’t know the answer, I can reach out to a friend that does π
Marcia says
OMG I’m still CRYING after that lawyer with the cat filter!! I’ve been running daily here but I’ve been forgetting to start my Garmin, which is totes pissing me off. Great week of workouts for you. All the best with getting your parents the vaccine. My in laws are struggling with getting the second one. It’s a royal cluster in IL.
kookyrunner says
The lawyer cat zoom meeting clip still makes me laugh. It’s one of those clips that will continue to make me laugh lol.
I’m sorry to hear that your in-laws are having such a hard time getting the second shot π The rollout for this has been a nightmare.
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
Argh! My work stole a few nights of sleep from me this week as well. Grrr….
The “late to work even though bed is 2 feet away” is total apt. When we were in the office I was always 5-10 minutes late and now it’s all that I can do to finish my workout and get showered and hair dried for my first meeting of the day.
kookyrunner says
I hate when that happens! Hopefully this work week will be better for both of us!
I have the same issue with my workouts sometimes, especially if I want to get in a stretch!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
It was great to see you and the other ladies on Saturday!
What a bummer that you lost two (or at least part of two) runs during the week. I love technology, until it doesn’t work, and then it drives me nuts!
I love the puppy/abs meme!
kookyrunner says
Technology is such a gift and a curse, lol. So great to see you on Saturday π
RenΓ©e @runlaugheatpie says
the lawyer cat had me HOWLING at the top of my lungs!! I just kept repeating it and kept laughing with tears down my face. It’s literally all you need this year (already) for a good laugh!!
I am so glad you got your dad an appointment. I can imagine you are anxious about your mom. None of my parents (bios and steps) can get appointments yet in NM. It’s making me feel insane with worry!! My dad has cancer, why is he not already near the front of the line?? It’s so very upsetting. But I have to not give up hope. Because, then there’s nothing right?
I’m glad you had some good workouts this week. Music can really make or break a workout for me! I’m so sorry you had a crappy work/sleep week though. That’sucks.
Also, the meme about showing up late to work? I feel judged. LOL!!!
Darlene S Cardillo says
I always look forward to your memes.
I was so relieved to get my 2 vaccines. but it wasn’t easy. Hope everything works out for your parents.
I laughed about showing up late for work – that’s me!!
kookyrunner says
So glad that you were able to get both vaccines. I’m really hoping that they can make the process easier soon.
