Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week. My week felt super long but I think that’s always the case when you come back to work after having some time off. Remember how zen I felt at the end of last week? Yeah, all that went out the window quickly. More organizational changes at work – sigh 🙁
On a positive note, here’s how my workouts went this week.
Monday, May 16
Def Leppard Run 4/20/22 – Tobias (20 minutes)
Def Leppard Run 4/20/22 – Jess K (20 minutes)
Def Leppard Ride 4/20/22 – Sam (30 minutes)
Roll Call: Full body Strength 5/16/22 – Jess (30 minutes)
60s Rock Ride 4/23/22 – Mayla (15 minutes)
I was first introduced to Def Leppard through a show on VH1 called ‘Behind the Music’. Anyone else remember that show? I feel like I learned so much about music from that show – they should definitely bring it back. the one thing that always stood out was the fact that their drummer, Rick Allen, lost his arm in a car accident but still manages to play the drums through a custom electronic drum set he can play with his feet. I’ve just always found that to be so cool. Although I am only familiar with 3 of their songs, I enjoyed all these classes, especially the run with Tobias because he did a few air guitar solos, lol. After those classes, I logged into Jess Sims live strength class to help Coco celebrate her 1,400 strength classes milestone 🙂
Tuesday, May 17
Warm up Walk 5/11/22 – Matty (5 minutes)
Red Hot Chili Peppers Run 5/4/22 – Marcel M (30 minutes)
Red Hot Chili Peppers Run 5/4/22 – Marcel D (20 minutes)
Red Hot Chili Peppers Full Body Strength 5/4/22 – Andy (20 minutes)
Red Hot Chili Peppers Ride 5/4/22 – Kendall (30 minutes)
Red Hot Chili Peppers Yoga Flow 5/4/22 – Kirra (30 minutes)
I REALLY enjoyed this stack of classes as I’m a huge Red Hot Chili Peppers fan. One of my favorite albums of all time is Californication. Lucky for me, the instructors selected a lot of songs from that album for their classes. It was a fun morning of singing along while also getting my sweat on as well.
Wednesday, May 18
Fall Out Boy Run 4/26/22 – Matt (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Red Hot Chili Peppers Ride 5/4/22 – Erik (30 minutes)
Rock HIIT Cardio 3/14/22 – Andy (20 minutes)
The Fall Out Boy run with Matt was great. I love when he teaches Artist Series runs because he’s always so excited during the whole run, lol. Loved the RHCP ride with Erik – he picked all my favorite songs for the playlist.
Thursday, May 19
Yo-Yo Ma Run 5/11/22 – Becs (20 minutes)
Yo-Yo Ma Walk 5/11/22 – Jeffrey (30 minutes)
Yo-Yo Ma Ride 5/11/22 – Christine (20 minutes)
Rock Ride 10/22/21 – Alex (20 minutes)
Rock Ride 1/23/22 – Erik (20 minutes)
Yo-Yo Ma Yoga Flow 5/11/22 – Mariana (30 minutes)
I’m not too familiar with classical music but I’ve heard of Yo-Yo Ma so I was kind of looking forward to taking these classes. It was nice to start off the day with mellow music since I had back to back meetings from 10:00am-3:00pm. Ending the night with yoga was perfect since my body felt super tight rom sitting all day long.
Friday, May 20
80s Rock Ride 4/24/22 – Leanne (20 minutes)
80s Rock Run 4/24/22 – Jermaine (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
60s Rock Yoga Flow 5/5/22 – Ross (30 minutes)
Really enjoyed both the 80s rock ride and run – both classes had great playlists. Because of the new format that features endurance, strength and power in every workout, my OTF classes have felt harder than usual lately. i hope that once I get into a rhythm they will feel a little easier. My left knee has been a little wonky this week. Sometimes it’s a little sore when I go up and down the stairs and during cycling, but not when I run or walk. No clue what that’s about but I’ll keep monitoring it.
Saturday, May 21
Spotify Women of Rock Ride 4/27/22 – Charlotte (30 minutes)
Saturday60: Advance Full Body Bootcamp 5/21/22 – Jess (60 minutes)
Cool Down Walk 1/27/22 – Jon (10 minutes)
Harry Styles Core Strength 5/20/22 – Callie (20 minutes)
I haven’t done a Saturday60 class in a little over a month. I was finally free to do the class live yesterday. Of course it was an advanced class. I spent a majority of the time cursing her out in my head 🙂 It was brutal.
Sunday, May 22
2000s Rock Ride 4/19/22 – Ally (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (45 minutes)
Rock Full Body Strength 5/5/22 – Erik (45 minutes)
Ally had a really great playlist for her Rock ride – probably the best rock playlist I’ve heard out of all the Rock 22 classes. It was surprising to me since she normally focuses on pop music rides.
Summary:
Running – 14.5 miles
Cycle – 51.12 miles
Strength Training – 125 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 165 minutes
Bootcamp – 60 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 600/613
As expected, we completely skipped Spring and went straight to Summer. The weather this weekend was disgusting – and it wasn’t even that hot. The humidity was gross yesterday. Today isn’t as bad, but it’s still pretty horrible. I am not ready for the summer heat!
AllOutMayhem started yesterday at OTF. It’s basically like Hell Week, only in May. You have to complete 4 out of 7 workouts. 1 down, 3 to go!
…and now for this week’s memes.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

How cool that you were able to help Coco celebrate her huge milestone! And, that Saturday60 class must have been brutal- I know what Jess Sims is like and can’t imagine one of her advanced classes. Overall it sounds like a great week- you must be feeling back to normal. Good luck with AllOutMayhem!
kookyrunner says
I think Jess must have gotten a good night’s sleep on Friday because she had waaaaayyy too much energy for that Saturday60 class lol.
Michelle says
That “train your replacement” meme cracked me up! I’m sorry to hear the work drama continues – seems like it’s been that way for a while 🙁
I’m so far behind on the Artist Series classes, but I’m looking forward to the RHCP classes.
Hope your knee settles down and doesn’t turn into anything.
kookyrunner says
Yeah it’s been crazy for a little too long and just when things calm down, something else happens. It’s like a broken record at this point!
The good thing about the Artist Series classes is that Peloton doesn’t really seem to purge those so you can take your time catching up 🙂
Darlene S. Cardillo says
I know how you feel. So hard getting into work mode after a vacation.
So hot this weekend. Crazy how that is. Then it will go back to spring. Too bad I had a race scheduled.
kookyrunner says
Right?! The difference form Friday to Saturday was nuts. I felt bad for all the runners that did the Brooklyn Half in that heat.
Deborah Brooks says
wow you took a lot of classes this week! I remember how popular Def Leopard was when I was in high school. Funny, I am actually going to a party in September and they are playing! I will have to bone up on the songs and take some of these classes too. Hope your work week is a little less hectic this week
kookyrunner says
That’s awesome that you will get to see Def Leppard play in person in September!
Deborah Brooks says
looking forward to digging out the 80’s gear
Chocolaterunsjudy says
Oh no on the organizational changes! And sorry that you weren’t able to hold onto that staycation glow.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy – Definitely another bummer and hit to the team. I just wish things would level out for a while.
Coco says
Thanks for helping me celebrate! You had quite a warm up for that strength class. I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on the Harry Styles classes. I am seeing negative reviews, with people saying the music was too blah. I’m impressed you’re up for Sat 60s already — that’s great.
I laugh at the “club” meme even harder because for me you’d have to change it to 5 am. 😀
I hope this week isn’t too hectic and that you have a long weekend to look forward to.
kookyrunner says
I probably won’t get to the Harry Styles classes for another week or two since I am still trying to finish up all the Rock 22 classes. I had not heard the negative reviews – yikes! I think the classes featured all new songs so maybe that’s why it wasn’t received well.
Kimberly Hatting says
Ha ha!! I only have one sibling, but that meme is spot-on! I LOVED the Def Leppard classes (and I haven’t even done all of them…yet). I’ve seen them in concert twice, and they can still rock the stage like no one else. I watched Behind the Music ALL THE TIME; it was big when my kids were itty bitty and I was usually up in the middle of the night feeding one of them or pumping….(TMI, LOL). I found it so interesting learning about the various bands and how they came to be, where they went and what they were made of. Anyways, looks like a solid week for you on the fitness front. Sorry for all the work stress…
kookyrunner says
Same here – just me and my older sister but the meme is 100% accurate! I’m so impressed by bands from the 80s and 90s that are still playing live concerts. They have to be in phenomenal shape!
I really wish VH1 would bring back Behind the Music because I literally learned SO much about bands from that show!
Marcia says
Last week felt like eons for me as well. That’s so fun you could help Coco celebrate her milestone! Hilarious memes as per usual!
kookyrunner says
Hopefully this week doesn’t feel as long!
Jenn says
Weeks feel so long but are over so fast. How does that happen? I’m sorry about the organizational changes – that can be rough. I hope things calm down soon.
Also, that is an actual photo of me, drinking coffee on a paddleboard, hiding from the world.
kookyrunner says
Right? Sometimes I don’t understand how a day can feel super long and also very short, all at the same time, lol.
Cari says
LOL on cursing. You should listen to her on Ali if you haven’t yet, she talks about how hard the Saturday 60 are for her, and then Becs made her run home
I need to find the 80s rock run. That’s my jam, no pun intended. Behind the Music and Pop Up Video, which I still say in tune with the jingle
kookyrunner says
I listed to that podcast and was absolutely shocked when she said that! I can barely pull myself off the floor after a Saturday60, let alone run home. I am convinced she is superhuman.
Liz Dexter says
Wow, this is such a wonderful resource for other Peleton fans. Glad you got all these super sessions in.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Liz!
