Happy Sunday! The first week of 2022 is complete. Was it just me or did this feel like the longest week ever?
The days seemed to drag on and on, especially at work, but I got in a lot of fun workouts this week.
Monday, January 3
Pre-Run Warm Up 12/6/21 – Jermaine (5 minutes)
Heat It Up Run: Boxing Day 12/26/21 – Joslyn (45 minutes)
Heat It Up Ride: Boxing Day 12/26/21 – Ben (45 minutes)
Top 50 of 2021 Core: #50-41 12/26/21 – Olivia (30 minutes)
#Nevermissamonday, especially when it’s the first Monday of 2022! One of my goals this month is to make my way through all of the Peloton Holiday and Stacking Stuffer classes, so I was happy to knock out these two Boxing Day classes. I really, really enjoyed the run with Joslyn because the format of the class was great and the playlist was fun. Ben’s class also had a really great playlist as well. Thirty minutes of core work with Olivia is always pretty rough but I always feel like a badass once it’s done!
Tuesday, January 4
Holiday Run 12/21/21 – Becs (30 minutes)
Cool Down Walk 9/3/19 – Andy (10 minutes)
Santa Monica Ride ft The Doors (15 minutes)
Festive Ride 12/6/21 – Erik (30 minutes)
Top 50 of 2021Upper Body: #30-21 12/28/21 – Chase (30 minutes)
This workout was kind of blah – didn’t hate the classes, but didn’t love them too much either. I was happy to get in a mix of running, cycling and strength.
Wednesday, January 5
Stacking Stuffer: HIIT Run 12/20/21 – Daniel (15 minutes)
Stacking Stuffer: Progression Run 12/20/21 – Selena (15 minutes)
Festive Ride 12/23/21 – Mila (30 minutes)
Holiday: 90s Ride 12/9/21 – Emma (30 minutes)
Holiday: Soul Flow Yoga 12/27/21 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
I didn’t sleep well and knew that I needed to sleep in, so I moved my workout to after work. I will admit that it was nice to get an extra hour of sleep in the middle of the week!
I don’t take enough classes with Daniel. I think I was smiling for the the whole run because he was smiling and laughing the whole time. This was my second ride with Mila. She’s one of the German instructors so her rides aren’t in English, but I enjoyed that ride so much. It was a mix of her energy and playlist – it was just a very fun class! I also really enjoyed the Soul Flow yoga with Chelsea. My quads have felt very tight and I was able to give them some TLC during the class.
Thursday, January 6
Festive Run 12/8/21 – Tobias (30 minutes)
Holiday Classics Ride 12/8/21 – Sam (30 minutes)
Top 50 of 2021 Glutes & Legs: #20-11 12/29/21 – Rad (30 minutes)
Focus Flow: Lower Body 12/2/21 – Nico (10 minutes)
Restorative Yoga 11/27/21 – Nico (10 minutes)
Tobias was definitely in the holiday spirit while teaching his run – tons of smiles and energy and I loved it. Also, it helps me keep the holiday spirit just a little while longer, lol. I think I need to take more of the restorative yoga classes because it was so relaxing!
Friday, January 7
Intervals Run 11/29/21 – Tobias (20 minutes)
Stacking Stuffer: Extra Mile 12/20/21 – Olivia (15 minutes)
Stacking Stuffer: Climb Ride 12/20/21 – Sam (15 minutes)
Stacking Stuffer: Tabata Ride 12/20/21 – Robin (15 minutes)
Stacking Stuffer: Low Impact Ride 12/20/21 – Jenn (15 minutes)
Top 50 of 2021 Bodyweight Strength: #40-31 12/27/21 – Callie (30 minutes)
The stacking stuffer cycle classes are great because I don’t get bored and it offers a little bit of everything. I find that Callie’s classes or either a hit or miss with me. The pace of the strength class was a little slow for me so I didn’t care for it too much.
Saturday, January 8
Stacking Stuffer: Climb Ride 12/20/21 – Christine (15 minutes)
Stacking Stuffer: HIIT Ride 12/20/21 – Tunde (15 minutes)
Pre-Run Warm Up 12/29/21 – Joslyn (5 minutes)
Saturday60: Hip Hop 1/8/22 – Jess (60 minutes)
Post-Run Stretch 12/8/21 – Joslyn (10 minutes)
The first Saturday60 of the year didn’t disappoint. It wasn’t an advanced class but certainly felt like it! Luckily the playlist was really, really good which made the torture bearable, lol.
Sunday, January 9
Hike 12/29/21 – Jess (30 minutes)
HIIT Cardio 11/20/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
Holiday: Reflections Ride 12/19/21 – Christine (30 minutes)
Nochebuena Ride 12/24/21 – Camila (30 minutes)
That 30 minute hike was very spicy, especially walking at an incline of 12 for the last few minutes of class.
Summary:
Running – 16.1 miles
Cycle – 64.79 miles
Strength Training – 175 minutes
Bootcamp – 60 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 486/487
I unofficially completed the Virtual NYRR Resolution Run 5K on Monday. I say unofficially because I forgot that treadmill runs don’t count for the challenge. I think that’s a silly rule but I guess Strava has their reasons behind it.
Thanks to a tip from Deborah I decided to erase all of my previous Peloton PRs and start new as of January 1. This made the most sense to me as some of my previous PRs aren’t really applicable anymore. For example, some of the older 30 minute tread bootcamps used to have two different formats – run for 20 minutes, then 10 minutes of strength or run for 15 minutes, then 15 minutes of strength. The newer 30 minute tread bootcamp classes are in 4 segments alternating between the tread and strength blocks. My PR from the older classes really isn’t comparable to the new classes since there was more running in the older classes, hence a higher output.
One of the Peloton instructors, Matty, posted about doing a “jar of good things” for the year. I think this is such a fun idea. I’m actually not going to do a jar but every Sunday I’m going to write my “good thing” in my planner. It will be nice to look back on all of the good things at the end of the year.
…and now for this week’s memes
Thanks to Deborah for sending these to me throughout the week!
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Great week of peleton workouts. I admire your dedication
Yes I think treadmill runs should count for NYRR virtual races.
I love the idea of a good thing planner. What did you write today? You should add it to your blog.
Your memes are priceless.
Coco says
OMG, I am feeling those covid memes! I donβt think Iβve taken classes with Callie since she was new. I feel like I should give her another chance, but there are so many others whose classes I can rely on!
Youβve got your year off to a great start!
Liz Dexter says
Your posts give such a great guide to all the instructors and classes! I’ve been loosening up my lower back with a few stretches a day; proper yoga felt too much on 1 Jan …
kookyrunner says
I’m happy that my posts can give you ideas for different classes π I tried a stand-in yoga class a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it so I will probably try more of those classes soon. I sit all day for work so throwing in some stretching throughout the say is very helpful.
Deborah Brooks says
As always I love the variety of the classes you take and the instructors. I love Daniel and yes he always makes me laugh and I probably don’t even understand half of what he says! The memes still crack me up! I forgot to go back and reset my own PR’s need to do that. Those memes still crack me up!
kookyrunner says
Have you seen the photos of Daniel’s new puppy? So cute!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Thanks for reminding me about the hikes! Now that I have a treadmill with a working incline I’ll have to try to remember to check them out.
That meme about Dolly Parton. My husband’s probably already seen it but so funny!
kookyrunner says
I love the Dolly meme and actually wish that it was real, lol.
Jessie says
I’ve done some of Callie’s core, but not a ton else. Generally I like her so far, but agree that the faster paced classes are more my style. You completed a ton of great classes !I didn’t realize that rule about Strava challenges. Well, I haven’t completed many lately then, since so many of my runs are on the treadmill due to this terrible cold spell!
kookyrunner says
Same here! I had no clue that Strava didn’t count treadmill runs for the NYRR runs. You would think they would make an exception for Winter runs, lol.
Wendy says
Another great week of Peloton stacks (am I saying that right?) and workouts for you. I love the idea of a good things jar or journal and that meme is a great reminder that there are always good things around us if we pay attention. It could always be worse. I’m lucky because my job gives me that perspective too!
kookyrunner says
Yup! I usually try to focus on the positives but sometimes that gets hard with all of the Covid stuff going on.
Jenny says
Okay, well, I’m going to start using the term “pandamnit.” I mean, I have to! Hee hee!
Even though I do the same things over and over again on Peloton, I like reading your little reviews of different classes. Every once in a while I do branch out!
I love the “good things” idea. I think I’m going to implement it the same way you do, by writing it in my planner each week. There are still good things happening!
kookyrunner says
Haha, right?! The term is amazing and accurately describes the nightmare we’ve been in for two years – ugh!
Michelle says
So many great stacks this week! You’re off to a great start to the year.
We’ve done a family “good things” jar for a few years now. It’s always great to go through everything in the jar at the end of the year.
Your memes this week genuinely had me laughing out loud, especially the covid math problem π
kookyrunner says
I’m glad the memes made you laugh π It seems like we all needed a little bit of laughter after this crazy week.
Cari says
I love that idea of the jar, such a good one.
I didn’t get into the stocking stuffers much, I should think about that for January. I still have Becs’ holiday run to do too. I feel the same on Callie. Some good ones but they don’t always resonate with me.
And yes, been there on the shirt/case
kookyrunner says
Yeah, I hate that Callie is a hit or miss with me because i think she has such a fun personality, so I wish i liked her more.
Kimberly Hatting says
You rock-n-rolled your way into 2022! Great start to the year, Kim Twin! I almost sent that pillowcase meme to you. LOL I totally love Daniel! Like Deborah, I probably catch only half of what he says, but he makes the classes so fun! Similar to the good things jar, I have a gratitude journal I try to write in each night…I can usually find at least three daily things that made me smile π
kookyrunner says
The pillowcase meme is pretty funny, lol. I love that you use a gratitude journal – that’s such a great idea.
Marcia says
Great stacks as usual Kim! I need to check out all these instructors you love. Now let’s get rid of this pandamnit! Lol!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Marcia! Pandamnit is my new favorite word.
Black Knight says
Another solid week of training, congrats!
I agree to not count the treadmill for the virtual race is a silly rule.
Pandamnit is perfect to describe the current situation.
kookyrunner says
I feel like treadmill miles are often times harder than outdoor miles so they should definitely count, lol.
Jenn says
Ooooh, I forgot about the NYRR Resolution Run. Next year.
Good Tip about erasing your data. It would be hard to let it all go, but great that you can work on new PRs!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jenn. I was a little sad to erase the PRs because i know that I won’t be able tot hit some of them again, but it did feel nice to start fresh.
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
A treadmill run does sound fitting for a virtual event! I have debated clearing out my PRs from my Garmin, but it is fun to see them and remember the speedy years π Great workouts this week!
kookyrunner says
I haven’t cleared the PRs from my Garmin for the same reason – always nice to look back on those accomplishments!
