Happy Sunday π I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday. I indulged a little too much on Thanksgiving Day and this weekend – whoops! Time to get back on track this week.
Today we’re experiencing our first snow of the season. Thankfully we didn’t get many inches of snow, but it’s mixed with rain and sleet so it’s a little slippery out there. Hopefully tomorrow’s work commute will be okay.
Since I had two days off this week (Thanksgiving and the day after), I decided to take advantage and do a few extra OTF classes. Here’s a list of my workouts for the week!
Monday, November 25
OrangeTheory Fitness (Power) – 60 minutes.
I’m convinced that this was a rejected Hell Week workout. Both the floor and treadmill blocks were brutal, but I always feel so accomplished once the workout is over!
Tuesday, November 26
Rest Day. This was an unexpected rest day but much needed π
Wednesday, November 27
OrangeTheory Fitness (Endurance) – 60 minutes
Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Started off the day with a morning OTF class since I had to work the rest of the day. It felt good to get my burn on before Thanksgiving.
Thursday, November 28
OrangeTheory Fitness – (ESP) 60 minutes + Harbor Point Turkey Trot 5K
Happy Thanksgiving! I started off the day with a local Turkey Trot. It’s a free, untimed 5K about 10 minutes from my house. It was pretty fun. I haven’t run this race in 2 years so it was great to see how much it’s grown! About an hour after the race, I headed up to my OTF studio to take a class. I was pretty beat after both workouts but it was well worth it!
Friday, November 29
OrangeTheory Fitness (Strength) – 60 minutes.
Happy Black Friday! Did you get any good deals? I refuse to step foot in a store on Black Friday, but I am all about the online shopping and got some great deals!
This was a strength workout but felt more like an endurance workout.
Saturday, November 30
3 mile run + Peloton Cycle (30 minutes).
I was happy to break in my new sneakers on the treadmill for this run. I’m always very nervous about running in a new model of sneakers, but luckily these felt great! The Peloton cycle class was also a lot of fun because it was a DJ ride. The music was SO good!
Sunday, December 1
OrangeTheory Fitness (A Workout Full of Burpees) – 60 minutes
Happy 1st day of December! Today marks day 1 of the 12 Days of Fitness at OTF! Each day will have a different theme/workout (see below). If you complete 7 of the 12 workouts you get a cool pair of ALL OUT socks.
Originally I was going to try to fo all 12 days but I’m traveling for work half of this week so unfortunately that’s not possible. However, I will get in my 7 days to get the socks. This workout had 4 variations of burpees, tons of rowing and all out paces on the treadmill. To say I was a sweaty mess would be an understatement, lol.
Total Weekly Mileage: 10.7 miles
Summary: 1 runs, 5 OTF workouts, 1 cycle classes
Grade This Week β A
As you can see, this week was loaded with OTF classes. I didn’t really plan that, it just happened since I had more free time than usual. Moving forward I would prefer to do 3-4 days a week to have more time for spinning and running. Also today’s class was at 7am. While I’m an early bird, I do like to keep one day a week (usually Sunday) to “sleep in” until 7 or 7:30. But I have to say, I actually enjoyed doing the class that early and having the rest of my day free to do laundry and put up Christmas decorations. I actually may do that more in the future!
One fun thing that started this week was the FitApproach #HolidaySweat Challenge. From Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day you commit to 10 minutes of activity daily. It’s a great way to hold myself accountable over the holidays!
Totally random, but have you seen the 10 year challenge posts on social media? I almost posted one but then my friend posted this one and decided that I couldn’t do any better than that, LOL.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Oh wow, you definitely deserved that Grade A this week! So many exhausting classes! Well done.
4 variations of burpees? One day you’ll have to tell us more abou that!
kookyrunner says
Ahh yes, the burpees! We had regular burpees, burpees with a plank jack, burpees with a push up and bicep curl to chest overhead press to burpee. The time went by quickly because there was something new to do each time.
Coco says
You killed it with OTF this week. I would not have been motivated to do a burpee based workout any time of day! LOL on the rejected hell work workout. You never know! With all those workouts and a run + OTF on Thanksgiving I would not worry about holiday indulgences.
kookyrunner says
It’s weird but I don’t hate burpees. I’m not saying I love them, but I do love that it’s a quick way to get my heart rate going π
Deborah @ Confessions of mother runner says
oh my that roll meme is the best! Love the photo of you and your mom post race so cute. Glad you had a fab Thanksgiving and fun few days
kookyrunner says
Right? I laughed so hard when I saw it!
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
You really crushed it with those OTF workouts! That OTF meme made me chuckle – it’s kinda how I felt today with all the variations on burpees LOL!
I love your Yeti shirt – can’t wait to see the rest of the line-up. You always come up with the best shirts!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Michelle! Their is an IG acocunt called orangetheorymemes and the person behind it always posts the funniest things lol.
Wendy says
Haha–that busted can of biscuits! I felt like that earlier this year. I had to make some changes in my diet. Age is catching up with me, I guess. Luckily, I dropped that menopot. But the holidays threaten to make it return…
I love all the incentives you have at OTF. I’m still waiting for my t-shirt from the SUMMER challenge at CrossFit! LOL
kookyrunner says
Oh no! I hope you get and Crossfit summer challenge shirt soon
Kimberly Hatting says
YOU had an intense week, #KimTwin! It’s great that your mom does so many of the same classes with you π I need to try those plank jack variations for burpees….because burpees just aren’t challenging enough on their own LOL
kookyrunner says
I was also surprised at all the different types of burpees.
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
Aw I love the run now gobble later shirts. lol on the 10 year challenge post.

I love your new Brooks shoes! You did so well this week with many different activities. I got tired just reading them about it. π

Thanks! I really love the colors on the new Brooks sneakers.
Denise @runheartfit says
Wow. What a week of workouts. You inspire me to try OTF. Love the Yeti shirt.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Denise!
Darlene says
Great week of workouts.
I ran 2 turkey trots but Iβm sure I ate more than I burned off.
Now Iβm nursing a sore foot and pretty bummed.
kookyrunner says
I’m so sorry to hear about your foot π I really hope that it starts to feel better.
Heather Hart says
I know I already told you on IG, but I have to say it again: I love your yeti shirt, haha! And your turkey costume! I’m a New Englander living in South Carolina now, and I know no one wants to hear it…but I’m envious of the snow fall everyone seems to be getting today!
kookyrunner says
LOL thanks! When I saw the Yeti shirt I knew I had to have it π I don’t mind Winter but I’m not a fan of the snow, only because people forget how to drive!
Chaitali says
That’s an impressive amount of OTF! I love the turkey outfit and the shirts for the Turkey Trot π
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I usually wear the turkey costume for my turkey trot run but wanted to mix things up by wearing it to OTF lol.
De Bolton says
You are too cute with that Turkey Outfit and beast girl with your Orange Theory training. Looks like a great Holiday week.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much De!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Wow, that’s a whole lotta OTF! I’ll say you earned whatever you ate over the holiday.
We got totally socked with snow. Luckily the light, fluffy kind, but there was an awful lot of it (still not done!).
kookyrunner says
LoL thanks Judy – that’s what I figured too!
RenΓ©e says
you are an OTF warrior!! Does mom go too? I love that you do so much together with her <3
that meme is the best hahaha!! I feel like a tin of those rolls often!
glad you had a good holiday week!
kookyrunner says
Mom goes too! She wants to do 3 classes a week and I am aiming for 4 so we do most of the workouts together.
The biscuit meme makes me laugh every time I see it!
Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says
Great job – I can’t imagine being able to get through so many OTF classes! It looks like a really fun, but intense workout! I love that you and your mom work out together, love the Turkey Trot outfits!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Janelle! OTF workouts are great because they are always different.
Jenn says
What a week!
I guess the good news about my broken leg is that my meds have made me decidedly not hungry. I didn’t even have pie on Thanksgiving. I haven’t been drinking either because I don’t want to be too loopy and need to get around on crutches.
I love that turkey costume. How can workouts not be fun when dressed like that?
kookyrunner says
Oh man, I hope that your appetite will come back soon. Saying no to pie makes me sad!
I got a lot of smiles and compliments on the turkey costume at OTF. I was glad to bring some fun to people before the holiday.
The Accidental Marathoner says
You are just killing it on your OTF workouts! I am loving your posts and especially your holiday season shirts!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Linda!
Marcia says
That is THE best turkey costume ever! OMG the busted can of biscuit meme is hilarious! Way to go on all the workouts!
Liz Dexter says
Love your turkey outfit and seasonal tops, and glad your new trainers have worked out. I have two pairs in boxes from a sale online, but they’re both models I have at the moment so I’m feeling OK about them. I am about to finish one pair of current ones which is shocking as I don’t feel I’ve had them that long!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Liz!
