Happy Sunday and Happy February! January was forever long, but we made it.
I love the start of a new month and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that February will be good!
Here’s a recap of my week in workouts:
Monday, January 31
Eminem Bike Bootcamp 1/31/22 – Jess (45 minutes)
HIIT Run 10/1/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Extra Mile 5/6/19 – Becs (10 minutes)
Glutes & Legs Stretch 5/17/19 – Becs (10 minutes)
That Eminem bike bootcamp was brutal. I was all pumped so take it live and about 10 minutes into the class I was dying, lol. My legs were pretty wiped out from the bootcamp classes I did on Saturday and Sunday so I just tried my best to keep up with Jess. I did a run after logging off work for the day since my legs felt a little bit better. The HIIT run was perfect because it allowed for walk breaks.
Tuesday, February 1
HIIT Run 10/8/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
WHM Celebration Ride 3/14/21 – Christine (45 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
Hips Stretch 7/3/19 – Chase (10 minutes)
Another great HIIT run with Jess. I love the 20 minute classes because it’s enough time to get in a good sweat. It was also my first day back to Orangetheory in 5 weeks. Luckily the class wasn’t too awful and I was still able to keep up with everything. I did the hips stretch right before heading to bed and it felt amazing! I bookmarked the class to take it again.
Wednesday, February 2
Pre-Run Warm Up 11/5/19 – Chase (5 minutes)
WHM: Pop Run 3/24/21 – Matty (30 minutes)
Bodyweight Strength 9/17/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
WHM: Dance Music Ride 3/16/21 – Ben (30 minutes)
Eminem Shadowboxing 1/28/22 – Rad (30 minutes)
I wasn’t a fan of the playlist for Matty’s run but he’s an awesome storyteller so I pretty much love all his runs. In this class he gave a shoutout to all the strong women in his family – it was really sweet. Ben’s ride was a lot of fun, and I always love when he calls songs “bangers”, lol. I really enjoyed the Eminem shadowboxing class. Many years ago when I was a member of LA Fitness, I used to attend a boxing class on Saturdays and I loved it! I’m looking forward to taking the other Eminem shadowboxing classes this week.
In non-fitness news, I’m pretty sure people are mad at the groundhog for his prediction of more weeks of Winter. His ex-wife has a few thoughts on his prediction, lol.
Thursday, February 3
Warm Up Walk 10/12/21 – Kirsten (10 minutes)
WHM Celebration Ride 3/29/21 – Alex (30 minutes)
Arms & Shoulders Strength 10/12/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (45 minutes)
Eminem Shadowboxing 1/28/22 – Selena (30 minutes)
The playlist for Alex’s ride was top notch and the perfect way to start off my day. Loved the upper body workout with Jess, except for the tabata at the end that included burpees – that was just mean, lol. The OTF class also had burpees – 4 different versions – so I’m good with not doing burpees for a few days. The shadowboxing class was okay but I think I’ll stick to the shorter ones (10-15 minutes) moving forward. I will still take Kendall’s 30 minute class since I want to finish out the Eminem series.
Friday, February 4
Warm Up Run 12/10/21 – Susie (5 minutes)
Breakthrough WHM Celebration Run 3/17/21 – Olivia (30 minutes)
WHM: Full Body Strength 3/11/21 – Adrian (30 minutes)
WHM: Rock Ride 3/12/21 – Olivia (30 minutes)
Eminem Shadowboxing 1/28/22 – Kendall (30 minutes)
Olivia’s run was good and the class really focused on believing in yourself and your skills. If you need a little pick me up or inspiration, I would suggest taking that class. I enjoyed Kendall’s Eminem shadowboxing class the most out of the 3 that I took this week. She had a ton of energy and her playlist was the best.
Saturday, February 5
Orangetheory Fitness – NonStop (60 minutes)
BHM Block Party Two for One Run 2/5/22 – Adrian & Jess (30 minutes)
Yoga Flow 4/30/21 – Anna (45 minutes)
The weather was pretty bad on Friday night (tons of ice) so I canceled my 8am OTF class for Saturday. I still woke up pretty early and realized that the roads weren’t too bad so I booked myself into the 9am class. I was happy I was able to take the class because it was a good one. It was called “NonStop” and it was literally nonstop on the floor, rower and treadmill. Definitely one of those classes were you feel like a badass when you finish!
I was pretty beat from class but knew I wanted to do the BHM Block Party Run live at noon. Luckily it was a really fun class, with little inclines and lots of walk breaks. It was super fun!
Sunday, February 6
I *think* I might make today a rest day. I’m not too motivated to workout now, but it’s still early in the day. If I do anything it might be a short ride and a walk. I definitely want to get in a longer stretching session at some point today.
Summary:
Running – 15.33 miles
Cycle – 30.0 miles
Strength Training – 70 minutes
Bootcamp – 45 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 510/511
As you can see, I went back to Orangetheory Fitness this week. Our Covid numbers are down significantly from just a few weeks ago, so I feel safe going back. Plus we still have the indoor mask mandate so everyone wears a mask during class. Another reason I decided to go back was to kick off the Transformation Challenge. I’ve been feeling a little “stuck” lately, so hopefully this is the jumpstart that I need.
I also jumped on the Wordle train and did my first puzzle on Thursday. I liked it but not sure I’ll do it everyday. There’s also a Peloton version which I thought was pretty cool.
…and now for this week’s memes
Thanks to Deborah for sharing these two memes with me.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

The best memes yet!!
I am never motivated to work out. You are an inspiration to me. Kudos to you. You deserve a day off.
I got out to run everyday except Thurs & Friday (and today) and didn’t get frost bite so an ok week!
Things should get better since I leave town next week!!
kookyrunner says
Super impressed that you got out to run in the crazy cold weather this week!
Liz Dexter says
Ha, I love the avocado one!
I managed to speak to the doctor about the finger I must have broken in that half-marathon and I have a physio appointment tomorrow, rather shockingly, so I hope to be able to have a plan and to know when I will be able to put my hand flat on the ground and weight-bearing again. It does limit what I can do very annoyingly.
kookyrunner says
Sadly the avocado meme is very true, lol.
I hope that your upcoming doctor’s appointment goes well and that you get some answers!

Our local Woodstock Willie predicted the end of winter, so I’m going with him, lol. Even though I know he’s wrong.
Nice week of workouts for you! Glad you got to go back to OTF. Our numbers are dropping here too and it’s such a relief!
The avocado meme is TRUTH
kookyrunner says
Okay, so Woodstock Willie is an mazing name, lol. But yeah, he’s probably wrong, lol. Apparently Connecticut has a groundhog as well and also predicted the end of Winter, but we all know he’s wrong.
So glad that numbers are also dropping in Illinois too!
Jessie says
Glad covid numbers are going down! Hopefully the rest of the country follows suit… We are getting pressured to go back to the office, but I have a ski trip coming up and don’t want to get it right before that. So I’m holding out another week.
Darn groundhog…but in Minnesota, we all knew we still had 6 more weeks of winter 🙂 But maybe February will be milder! January was a tough one!
Glad to know which stretch classes you like! Sometimes I get bored of what the instructor is doing and kinda do my own thing for stretching, but honestly, as long as I’m dedicating that time to stretching, I think that’s a win 🙂
kookyrunner says
January was definitely a rough one for the midwest! I really hope the February is much less snowy.
Totally know what you mean about stretching – that’s why the 5 minute ones are normally best for me so that it keeps my attention, lol.
Kimberly Hatting says
Another solid week, #KimTwin!! Michelle mentioned the boxing classes, and now you’re highlighting the shadowboxing…looks like I need to jump on that bandwagon! I haven’t hit many of the Eminem classes yet, so thanks for the suggestions 😉 I love the groundhog meme, LOL.
kookyrunner says
The Groundhog meme made me laugh out loud 🙂 The shadowboxing classes are cool but they do require a lot of concentration to remember the sequence of punches, lol.
Deborah Brooks says
Another stellar week of workouts for you! I do not think I knew Chase had a hips stretch class. I will also be doing that Eminem boxing class this week. They are really fun. ha the groundhog meme 🙂
kookyrunner says
I love searching the “archives” of the on-demand classes to find older classes. I just hope those classes don’t get purged since I know Peloton likes to get rid folder classes from time to time.
Jenny says
Hmm, I’ll check out that hip stretch class- I definitely need it. Glad you got back to Orange Theory, and it sounds like you had some amazing workouts.
LOVE the memes- I keep reading them out loud to my husband. Yes, January was a long year but we got through it!
kookyrunner says
The hip stretch class was great, and also reminded me of how tight my hips are, lol.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
You are lucky you could get to your OTF class! I’m sure the main roads are fine by now, but the challenge is getting out of our dead end. Really just down the driveway, LOL!
I hope you took that rest day, Kim! Does a body good once in a while.
I used to have a kickboxing class I LOVED at a gym — so many, many years ago. I was really addicted to it!
kookyrunner says
Yeah I wasn’t sure if I would be able to get to class but luckily the roads were surprisingly good!
I ended up doing a cycle class and some stretching yesterday.
Michelle says
These memes are priceless! I especially like the Girl Scout cookie one 🙂
It’s great to see that you felt comfortable returning to OTF. Hopefully, the numbers will continue to trend in the right direction.
Thanks for mentioning Chase’s hip stretch – I’ll be taking that one today!
kookyrunner says
Let me know how you like Chase’s hip stretch class!
The Girl Scout meme made me lol – funny enough, my neighbor’s daughter came to our house yesterday to give us her sheet to order cookies, lol.
Coco says
Count me in for that end-of-February challenge, LOL.
I heard the groundhog they were going to use passed away the day before. If that’s true, it can’t be a good sign!
Glad to see you back at OTF. We are still in the “red” zone for cases, but the trend is downward.
kookyrunner says
I also heard that about the groundhog! But that sounds about right for 2022, lol.
Marcia says
I cannot believe I forgot to do any Eminem workouts this week. For sure tomorrow! Great variety for you as always and I’m so glad you were able to go back to OTF. There’s talk here of dropping the mask mandate. I don’t know what to think anymore. Haha! I’m in for that 3-day challenge! Lol!
kookyrunner says
I think you will enjoy the Eminem classes!
I think that they will end up dropping our mask mandate next month since numbers are looking better. Even if they do, I’ll still be wearing my mask indoors.
Shathiso says
Hahaha!! Awesome memes as usual! The avocado one is my favourite!!
kookyrunner says
That was one of my favorites too!
Black Knight says
Another week of great workouts, brava!
Glad that the Covid numbers are down. At last here it’s the same!
Very nice memes!
kookyrunner says
Glad to hear that Covid numbers are also down in your area too!
Jenn says
I love Wordle. It’s the first thing I do in the morning. Starts my day right.
I’m glad you were able to go back to OTF. That’s so encouraging.
kookyrunner says
I’ve done Wordle every day this week, usually on my lunch break, and I like it! It’s a nice little distraction.
