Happy Sunday. Everyone ready for the Super Bowl? I can’t stand Tom Brady so of course I’m hoping that the Kansas City Chiefs win. I always watch the game but the real highlight of this day is the Puppy Bowl! Who doesn’t want to watch cute puppies have their own version of the Super Bowl?
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, February 1
Peloton Bootcamp Warm Up 11/12/20 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Pop Bootcamp 1/30/21 – Jess (60 minutes)
Peloton BHM: Blues Recovery Ride 10/30/20 – Sam (20 minutes)
Peloton Cool Down Ride 9/26/19 – Robin (5 minutes)
Peloton All For One Yoga Flow 7/4/19 – Multiple Instructors (30 minutes)
I originally planned to take an OTF class in the afternoon but the snowstorm had other ideas. On Sunday night my studio said they would be closed on Monday due to the impending storm, which was totally the right call since we ended up getting around 14 inches of snow. I decided to take the #Saturday60 bootcamp class that I missed over the weekend and followed that up with a very chill and relaxing recovery ride.
Tuesday, February 2
Peloton Pre-Run Warm Up 6/20/20 – Jess (5 minutes)
Peloton Move for More: Hills Run 12/16/19 – Becs (10 minutes)
Peloton Move for More: HIIT Run 12/11/19 – Andy (10 minutes)
Peloton Move for More: HIIT Cardio 12/3/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton 80’s Ride 5/6/18 – Christine (45 minutes)
Peloton Pelothon 2020 Arms Toning 8/5/20 – Christine (10 minutes)
I wanted to mix things up and take a few shorter, but still effective, classes because I just wanted something different. I’m not a fan of hills, but I told myself I can do anything for 10 minutes, lol. Both the HIIT run and cardio classes were great and I loved Christine’s vibe on the 80’s ride.
Wednesday, February 3
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (45 minutes)
Peloton Move for More: HIIT Cardio 12/10/19 – Rebecca (10 minutes)
Peloton Pop Ride: Chromeo 7/21/20 – Denis (20 minutes)
Peloton Move for More: Climb Ride 12/16/19 – Kendall (15 minutes)
Pelothon 2020 Yoga Flow 8/4/20 – Anna (30 minutes)
For some reason I was sweating buckets in the OTF class. I mean I always sweat but this was excessive. I think they didn’t have the air turned up enough. Regardless, it was a great power workout with lots of all out on the treadmill and heavier weight with shorter reps on the floor. My legs seem to appreciate when I do a short ride after class. I guess it helps with the lactic acid buildup? The pop ride was fun – I always forgot how much I like riding with Denis. My legs felt super tight all day so I opted for a yoga class after logging off work for the day.
Thursday, February 4
Peloton Pre-Run Warm Up 2/3/20 – Jess (5 minutes)
Peloton Move for More: Mile Run 12/17/19 – Olivia (10 minutes)
Peloton Move for More: HIIT Run 12/9/19 – Selena (10 minutes)
Peloton Move for More: Mile Run 12/12/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Pelothon 2020 Pop Ride 8/4/20 – Leanne (30 minutes)
Peloton Move for More: Tabata Ride 12/19/19 – Alex (15 minutes)
Another mini stack of 10 minutes classes. I know I can take a 30 minute run, but what I love about the 10 minute classes is that they feel like 3 different workouts and I like taking different instructors as well. Leanne is an absolute joy on the bike – I love her bubbly personality so her rides are always fun!
Friday, February 5
Peloton Warm-Up Run 11/21/20 – Adrian (5 minutes)
Peloton Walk + Run 10/14/20 – Jess (30 minutes)
Peloton Post Malone Ride 1/27/21 – Ally (30 minutes)
Peloton Move for More: Climb Ride 12/10/19 – Christine (15 minutes)
Peloton Post Malone Bodyweight Strength 1/29/21 – Adrian (20 minutes)
Peloton All for One Strength Cool Down 7/3/20 – Andy (10 minutes)
I loved the walk + run class! These classes, and the power walk classes, are great for me right now because they don’t aggravate my knee at all. Honestly, I wasn’t a fan of the Post Malone ride – the vibe was a little off, but I did enjoy the moves that Adrian selected for the strength class. I’ve never done a strength cool down class but I really liked it. I bookmarked the class so that I can take it again.
Saturday, February 6
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Peloton Move for More: Tabata Ride 12/18/19 – Olivia (15 minutes)
Peloton Move for More: HIIT Ride 12/17/19 – Emma (15 minutes)
Peloton Cool Down Ride 5/1/20 – Hannah (5 minutes)
Peloton Bob Marley Core Strength 2/5/21 – Emma (10 minutes)
Peloton All For One Yoga Flow 7/2/20 – Multiple Instructors (30 minutes)
The rowing block during this OTF class was brutal – 300 meter power rows followed by tons of squats and lunges with a medicine ball. We repeated that sequence three times. I did a few short cycle classes to flush out my legs after class and then a short core class and yoga for a nice stretch.
Sunday, February 7
Orangetheory Fitness – Lift 45 Full Body (45 minutes)
Peloton Black History Y2K Run 2/24/19 – Rebecca (30 minutes)
Peloton Unity Ride 10/3/20 – Erik (20 minutes)
Another great Lift 45 Full Body class. I usually never get splat points in these classes but our final block had burpees so that did the trick today! My arms are already sore from the class so tomorrow should be fun. I wanted to get some cardio in so I did a run, well actually run/walk intervals and a quick ride to flush out my legs.
I was glad that I had an early class this morning because I made it home right before the heavy snow started to come down.
Total Weekly Mileage: 14.3 miles
Summary: 10 runs*, 1 bootcamp, 11 cycle, 3 yoga and 6 OTF/strength classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 216/220
Grade This Week β A
It’s so crazy to me that we have barely gotten any snow this Winter and them Boom – Here comes a Nor’easter! Some parts of Connecticut got 20 inches of snow so I’m glad we “only” got 14. It was pretty bad on Monday since it snowed all day but the clean up on Tuesday wasn’t that bad at all. Luckily it wasn’t the heavy type of snow so shoveling wasn’t too bad. I kind of hope that’s the last big snowstorm of the season. I don’t mind the cold weather but I hate snow.
I love all the different Peloton challenges and badges, so I was stoked when PeloBuddy released their “Full list of Peloton badges and Special Event Awards“! This year I’ll be working on taking all the classes for the badges that are still available (many of the ones from 2017 and 2018 are no longer available). I figured this is a fun mini challenge that I can do throughout the year π
…and now for this week’s memes π
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

You are so active. I get tired reading what you everyday. LOL
But very impressed with your dedication.
I only watch the Super bowl when I go to a party…and obviously not this year. I will probably check out the half time show.
As always your memes give me a chuckle.
kookyrunner says
I’m way more interested in the Puppy Bowl (lol) but I will watch the super bowl, primarily for the commercials and the halftime show.
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
It was definitely a rough week of weather! I guess we are making up for the mild weather in December and January. I really hope we don’t get much more snow this year!
kookyrunner says
That’s what I was thinking as well. We had such a mild Winter in December and January so I guess February was like, “it’s my time to shine”, lol.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
You know how much I appreciate your memes π
Looks like another awesome week for you – honestly, I’m always amazed at how much you get done! I hope your knee is feeling better!
kookyrunner says
Glad the memes can always give you a chuckle, lol.
Overall my knee is feeling better. I think slowing down my runs and also doing more run/walk intervals has been super helpful.
Deborah Brooks says
you had a really great mix of cardio and strength this week! Regarding the sweating, I can’t believe how much I sweat on freezing cold runs. I have to wash my jackets almost every time I wear them! Thanks as usual for the funny memes π
kookyrunner says
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the memes π
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
I always love your memes, Kim. Luckily downstate got way more snow than we did. But shoveling is definitely still a workout up here. π
I hope your knee is feeling better soon!
We are not that into the Super Bowl. Me , not at all. Mr. Judy, not much more, LOL! But we are making beef nachos for dinner. π
kookyrunner says
The shoveling is always so horrible! I was glad that the snow on Monday/Tuesday wasn’t the wet/heavy type of snow because that just kills my back.
My knee is feeling better – thank goodness! The run/walk intervals and also slowing down my runs has been super helpful.
Beef nachos sound great for dinner today!
Liz Dexter says
14 inches of snow??? Goodness me! I don’t think we’ve ever had that here. Glad you were able to stay so active as usual and did some fun classes. I am stating my intention to take the running club’s pilates class OR do a peleton stretch class tomorrow evening.
kookyrunner says
It was a pretty significant storm, but we’ve had a pretty mild Winter so I guess it was so be expected!
Jessie says
Goodness, 14 inches is a lot of snow! It’s so pretty though.
Love the Groundhog meme…
Awesome week of workouts Kim!
kookyrunner says
The groundhog meme made me LOL. This country is so weird when it comes to a lot of things!
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
Oh man, our weather has been awful but not 14 inches awful! I hope it all clears up soon. 9 PM is definitely the new midnight;-)
kookyrunner says
Our snowstorm today wasn’t as bad as Monday’s so hopefully the clean up will be quick!
Wendy says
Nice work on your workouts, Kim. It’s been a tough week, hasn’t it? The snow and the cold have really gotten to me. I’m going to suck it up and try to get outside on the trails this week.
We have a saying at work and that is ‘you need a license to fish but not to have kids’. Lol Common sense is not so common!
kookyrunner says
LoL that comment is so funny!
Kimberly Hatting says
Oh, that common sense meme says it ALL. I have always said that “common sense is not all that common.” Anyways, great job with all your workouts. As usual, you had a great variety and kicked some buttocks. You’d mentioned the rowing…the hubs has been doing a lot of rowing at the gym, and he’s loving it. I don’t think we have much for snow in the forecast, but the cold temps are definitely sticking around….(this is why I embrace Summer) π
kookyrunner says
Haha exactly! There are times when someone says something and I think to myself, they can’t be serious, lol.
It took me a long time to even begin to like rowing but it really is a great workout!
Angie @ North Trail Living says
You guys really got hammered by some serious snow. We have about 12″ on the ground but that is over 2-3 snowfalls, not like you guys. You made me giggle with your comment about Tom Brady. For me is that he beat the Packers, so there is that. But regardless, I do not watch the Super Bowl. I am more of a college football person. Stay warm!
kookyrunner says
I much prefer college football over professional football! I just finished watching the Super Bowl and I feel like it was such a waste of my evening, lol.
Marcia says
Great job getting your workouts in despite all the crazy weather Kim! I too am an avid fan of the puppy bowl. I’ll watch the Super Bowl for the commercials and of course I’ve gotta see The Weekend perform.
kookyrunner says
I enjoyed the Puppy Bowl way more than the Super Bowl this year, but that was to be expected lol.
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
Great job on your workouts! I just mentioned on another blog that we felt like we’d made it through the winter with January being so mild and then BOOM February hit!
The Puppy Bowl – so much cuteness! I fell in love with Muffin probably because she reminds me of Pablo. π
I really have no skin in the game, but have to say that I admire that Tom Brady is back in the Super Bowl in his first year with a different team. His discipline in training and nutrition, as well as his dedication to the game is impressive, and his leadership shows.
kookyrunner says
I watched the entire Puppy Bowl and loves so many of the “players”, lol. Muffin was amazing and played so well. I was happy to see that she was adopted into a great family π
Coco says
Thanks for the laughs in the memes Too hard to choose a favorite this week. I love Christine and climb rides. π Do you have your Peloton tread yet? One thing holding me back from 10 min tread classes is the need to hop off to start the next one β I canβt fit my iPad on my tread without covering up the whole display ….
kookyrunner says
Nope! The Peloton Tread should arrive in about a month. I’m really looking forward to it! Right now I use my phone for all my treadmill classes. It’s a little annoying because it’s small but it allows me to stay on the tread and still see my mileage, etc.
Jenny says
Well you certainly didn’t let the weather hold you back! Great week of workouts. I’m watching the Superbowl right now and rooting for KC, but I don’t have a very strong preference one way or another. For me, it’s all about the guac : )
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jenny! Thank goodness for indoor workouts. Those were a life saver this week!
I primarily watch the Super Bowl for the ads and halftime show but both were pretty lackluster this year π
Jenn says
K is rooting for the Bucs, A is rooting for the Chiefs, I hope they both lose, but rooted hard for the nachos. And that’s Super Bowl Sunday in my house.
I sweat all the time. It’s awful, especially considering where I live. Even in the really cold weather, I feel like I’m soaked. So annoying.
Lots of great stacks and workouts this week. You are getting it done!
kookyrunner says
LOL. I love the breakdown of the Super Bowl in your house π
Zenaida Arroyo says
Great job this week! Those challenges look like fun and no doubt you will get many more badges. I am so over the snow. More is predicted this week Ugh! Let’s fast forward to March. As for the Valentine’s Day celebration, you are the one one the left.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! The challenges keep things interesting and breaks up the monotony of being home so much.
I’m definitely the one on the left in the Valentine’s Day meme, lol.
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
As an Ohioian, I’m clueless about Buckeye Chuck too. Wiki tells me Chuck is about 3 hours away from where I live, so I guess that’s why! Good memes, especially the 9pm one! I’m a big fan of snow. If it’s going to be cold around here I’d much rather look at snow and not the dead grass and plants! Good workouts this week, lots of Peloton classes!
kookyrunner says
That’s a good point about the snow vs looking at dead plants. I think snow is so pretty when it’s coming down but the clean up is what I dislike the most.
RenΓ©e @runlaugheatpie says
amazing workouts last week Kim! I also think that a ride after a tough workout always makes things better. We got a ton of snow on Saturday night and all day Sunday and Monday. Dutch people are losing their minds! I mean, everyone has been out sledding, skiing (!!!) and snowboarding (!!!) right here in our park! I’ve seen some crazy contraptions attached to cars as well – homemade sleds, picnic table and benches (and people LOL). It’s kind of hilarious. We never get snow like this (well, it’s rare anyway).
I never understood Valentine’s day by the way… but as you know I’m not a holiday person at all.
kookyrunner says
OMG I love that everyone there is taking advantage of all the snow. I guess people are looking for any excuse to get outside and have some fun – can’t say I blame them!
I don’t really care for Valentine’s Day. I used to when I was in high school but then it just didn’t seem that important anymore, lol.
