Happy Sunday! Let me be the first to say that I’m thrilled the heatwave is finally over. This week was just brutal and it seemed like it was super hot everywhere.
Here’s how my workouts went this week.
Monday, June 28
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (60 minutes)
Pride Celebration Ride 6/21/21 – Erik (45 minutes)
Pride Bodyweight Strength 6/21/21 – Erik (20 minutes)
Core Strength 3/16/21 – Irene (5 minutes)
Core Strength 6/28/21 – Jess (5 minutes)
For some reason the OTF class ran over (by 5 minutes), so I couldn’t stay for the stretching block (which I paid for later). Both of Erik’s Pride classes were good. I really like his personality and he ALWAYS has a smile on his face so it’s hard not to enjoy a workout with him.
Tuesday, June 29
Warm Up Walk 6/25/21 – Jess (10 minutes)
Casablanca Records Live DJ Run 6/25/21 – Adrian (30 minutes)
New Queer Musicians Full Body Strength 6/22/21 – Matty (30 minutes)
Casablanca Records Ride 6/22/21 – Cody (30 minutes)
Post-Ride Stretch 5/13/21 – Kendall (5 minutes)
Core Strength 3/22/21 – Irene (10 minutes)
I totally overdid it on Monday. I felt fine after my OTF class so that’s why I did another strength and cycle class but it was definitely a little too much for my legs. Originally I was supposed to do an OTF class in the afternoon but I re-scheduled that for Wednesday and decided to do this stack and take the run and ride easy. The Casablanca Records classes were really a lot of fun. it was pretty much a disco party on the treadmill and bike.
Wednesday, June 30
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (60 minutes)
HIIT Cardio 11/7/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Pride Celebration Ride 6/27/21 – Christine (30 minutes)
Post-Ride Stretch 1/2/20 – Sam Yo (5 minutes)
Core Stretch 3/16/21 – Irene (5 minutes)
Pride Icons Slow Flow 6/27/21 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
OTF felt more like an ESP (endurance, strength, power) day because there was a little bit of everything. I was not a fan of the inclines on the treadmill, but then again, I never am, lol. The core stretch and yoga classes felt great. I also finished up the Strong Core Strong Body program with Irene.
Thursday, July 1
Singapore Scenic Run (30 minutes)
90s Rock Champions Ride 6/29/21 – Ben (30 minutes)
Pride Celebration Full Body Strength 6/24/21 – Adrian (30 minutes)
John Florence Rock Champions Ride 6/24/21 – Leanne (30 minutes)
Arms Toning 1/21/21 – Cliff (10 minutes)
Pride Celebration Yoga 6/30/21 – Denis (30 minutes)
I like to throw in scenic runs/walks every week. It’s my form of vacation currently, lol. I did the Singapore class as a powerwalk to give my legs a day off from running.
Friday, July 2
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (60 minutes)
HIIT Cardio 11/21/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
AFO Ride: Jessie Ware 7/1/21 – Leanne (15 minutes)
AFO Cool Down Ride: Jessie Ware 7/1/21 – Leanna (10 minutes)
Go Canada! Bodyweight Strength 7/1/21 – Ben (20 minutes)
AFO Yoga Flow: Jessie Ware 7/1/21 – Kirra (20 minutes)
The OTF class was good and I finally ran into a few members that I used to take classes with regularly pre-pandemic. It was great to see them! I also took my first Peloton All For One classes. I had never heard Jessie Ware’s music but it was really fun and upbeat. I don’t know if I will add it to my playlist, but it definitely wasn’t bad. I always love Ben’s strength classes and this one was no different.
I also hit my 150th yoga class.
Saturday, July 3
This weekend I decided to treat it as a real music festival and try to get in as many “shows” as possible. Here was my morning stack.
Warm Up Run 9/3/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Trap Run 1/19/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
AFO Full Body Strength: Migos 7/2/21 – Adrian (45 minutes)
AFO Ride: Migos 7/2/21 – Alex (30 minutes)
AFO Full Body Stretch: Gorgon City 7/1/21 – Ben (10 minutes)
Honestly I haven’t had this much fun working out in a long time. All these classes were SO good. The run classes weren’t part of the festival lineup but the playlist for the trap run was fantastic. I’ve been looking forward to the Migos classes all week and they both did not disappoint! I see myself doing the strength class again because it was just that good.
After an “intermission” for lunch, I hopped back on the bike and got in a core class too. It was nice to ride with Robin again as she’s just come back from maternity leave.
AFO Ride: Daddy Yankee 7/2/21 – Robin (20 minutes)
AFO Ride: Doja Cat 7/3/21 – Emma (20 minutes)
AFO Core Strength: Doja Cat 7/3/21 – Robin (20 minutes)
AFO Post-Ride Stretch: Doja Cat 7/3/21 – Hannah C (10 minutes)
AFO Meditation: Alice Coltrane 7/1/21 – Chelsea (5 minutes)
Sunday, July 4
Happy 4th! It was my day 2 of the Peloton music festival
AFO Walk + Run: Gwen Stefani 7/1/21 – Matty (30 minutes)
AFO Full Body Strength: Gwen Stefani 7/1/21 – Jess (45 minutes)
AFO Ride: Gwen Stefani 7/1/21 – Kendall (45 minutes)
AFO Warm Up Ride: Imagine Dragons 7/2/21 – Sam (5 minutes)
AFO Imagine Dragons Ride 7/2/21 – Sam (20 minutes)
AFO Post-Ride Stretch: Imagine Dragons 7/2/21 – Sam (5 minutes)
AFO Slow Flow: James Blake 7/2/21 – Anna (30 minutes)
Another fun day at the music festival! My love for Gwen Stefani and No Doubt goes back 20+ years. I’ve seen her in concert twice – once with No Doubt and once as a solo artist. These classes were as good as I thought they would be – and I even learned a few new things about her. The strength class was non-stop but I was able to get through it by singing along to all of the songs. The Imagine Dragon rides were really good too. Definitely a different vibe/style of music when compared to Gwen Stefani, but that’s the best thing about this festival. You get to sample a bunch of different styles of music.
I also hit my 75th walk – a nice surprise!
Total Weekly Mileage: 12.6 miles
Summary: 6 runs*, 13 cycle, 4 yoga and 16 OTF/strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 316/361
Lots of cool stuff going on with Peloton this week! This week they released their “Summer Pass” discount for the Peloton app (Peloton Digital). You can get 3 months for the price of one. If you’ve been on the fence about trying the classes, this is a good time to join. You can read more about it here.
They also dropped classes for their All for One Music Festival. All of these classes were from Jul 1-3 – some live and some on demand. In total the festival featured 25 artists and all of the Peloton instructors taught at least one class. This combines two of my favorite things – exercise and music so I’m looking forward to making my way through all of the classes to jam out with artists that I love and learn about new ones too.
Next week I’m on staycation – yay! I’m looking forward to NOT logging into work because I mentally need a break from it. I hope that the weather will cooperate and that we won’t have another heatwave like we did this past week!
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Great week of workouts! I just saw that its going to be like 98 here on Tuesday. Im not really for another heat wave yet so I hope its short lived!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Lisa! Yup, another heatwave starting tomorrow. All I can say is thank goodness for AC!
Darlene S Cardillo says
OMG that CVS one made me giggle,, so true.
You are so motivating with your Pelton and OTF classes.
I am tempted to re-join Peleton – July 31.
kookyrunner says
The CVS meme is so true! Although, I think they are getting better about the super long receipts since they allow you to load coupons to your store card now.
Wendy says
We’re back in the heat again! We came home today because it’s really crowded at the lake and the cabin has no AC. I would have stayed, but you know how it is….
Nice week of workouts! Are you doing double workouts every day? Wow! I did that at CF last week on Thursday and boy did I pay for it on Friday. I’m getting old, I guess, lol
kookyrunner says
I don’t do double workouts daily, but on the days I have OTF I try to do something from Peloton also to keep my daily streak alive lol.
Jenny says
That Peloton music festival sounds fun! A festive way to kick off your staycation.
Love your memes as always. I hope you have a great week with beautiful weather!
kookyrunner says
The music festival has been great so far! I’m not going to concerts anytime soon so this is as close as I’ll get, lol.
Coco says
Wow, Kim, you did a TON of AFO workouts this weekend β thatβs awesome. Iβve still got a few strength classes to do and will have to start on the rides.
LOL on the weak password meme. Iβm trying to make mine better but have a hard time remembering them.
Enjoy your staycation!
kookyrunner says
Yeah…I did too many AFO classes this weekend – I’m a tad bit sore today, lol.
I feel like I’m changing my passwords all the time because I just can’t remember them – between using capital letters and numbers and symbols, it’s crazy.
Deborah Brooks says
there are so many fun Peloton classes to take right now! I have missed my bike and with all my travel and can;t wait to get back on it tomorrow. You had a great week of workouts!
kookyrunner says
So many fun classes! I think they did a really amazing job with this festival – I’m so impressed!
Liz Dexter says
What an excellent lot of workouts, I’m in awe as usual!

Thanks so much Liz!

Another awesome week for you! You crushed all of those AFO classes. I have enjoyed them and look forward to taking a bunch more this week.
Those memes are priceless π
Enjoy your staycation!

I’m looking forward to having a bunch of fun with the AFO classes all week long.
The staycation is good so far – thanks!
Jessie says
The heat man…its just as bad here in the northwoods π
Love the CVS meme.
Great job getting in all the workouts with the holiday!
kookyrunner says
The CVS meme still makes me laugh, lol.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
So many classes, Kim . . . you sure do keep busy!
Enjoy that staycation. We’ll be away a few days, with Bandit, so I’m really crossing fingers for some dry weather. I’ll send some your way too!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy! I was very tempted by all the AFO classes this weekend so I overdid it a bit, lol.
Hope that your time away this week is nice with dry weather!
RenΓ©e @runlaugheatpie says
Turned out to be a good week with your workouts! Isn’t it always the stretching part you miss that you really really need??? But ending the week with the festival just sounds so much fun!
as per usual, loving the memes :D. “we ride at dawn, bitches!” π
kookyrunner says
The stretching is something that I’m really adamant about doing now. I think doing a stretch every day last month has finally gotten me into a good routine.
LoL that meme is one of my favorites of the week π
Kimberly Hatting says
Your workouts always look so fun (though a bit on the side of intense LOL). And, such a great variety π Keep up the great work, you’re dedicated!!
kookyrunner says
Yeah this weekend was intense and I’ll admit I overdid it, but all the classes kept luring me in, lol.
Jenn says
Look at all those stacks! Dang, girl!
I definitely need to keep emergency pants by the front door. Pants are so overrated.
I’m glad your heat wave is over, but we are in the thick of summer and it is hot! Hot hot hot! Well, winter will be here soon enough I guess.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jenn! It was a fun weekend of classes but I was definitely sore this morning, lol.
Our heatwave is back with a vengeance tomorrow but I’m hopeful it will only last 2 days. It’s really not so much the heat but the humidity is what kills me!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
Yay for a staycation week coming up! I can only imagine how many Peloton classes you’ll take next week!
Okay, that CVS receipts meme could easily be true. LOL
kookyrunner says
The CVS receipt meme still makes me laugh, lol.
