Happy Sunday. I hope everyone is staying nice and cool this weekend. I think this may be considered the first unofficial heatwave of the Summer? We’re supposed to hit the 90s today.
Here’s a rundown of my workouts from this week:
Monday, May 31
Peloton Bootcamp Warm Up 2/16/21 – Jess (5 minutes)
Peloton Hip Hop Bootcamp 5/29/21 – Jess (60 minutes)
Peloton Pride Ride: Live From Home 6/16/20 – Leanne (30 minutes)
Peloton APIHM Celebration Yoga Flow 5/18/21 – Anna (30 minutes)
It’s the return of the #Saturday60 after 3 months! I couldn’t take the class live on Saturday so I saved it to start off my week. Jess was in rare form and I was questioning my decision to take the class about 30 minutes into it, lol. I survived but it was rough!
Tuesday, June 1
Peloton Silk Sonic Run 5/27/21 – Becs (30 minutes)
Peloton EDM Bike Bootcamp 4/26/21 – Jess (30 minutes)
Peloton APIHM Bhangra Core Strength 5/29/21 – Emma (15 minutes)
Peloton Chest & Back Stretch 10/2/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Silk Sonic Slow Flow Yoga 5/24/21 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
While I enjoyed the flow of the run and all of Becs cues, I didn’t enjoy the music. She picked a lot of remixes for some of the songs which I didn’t enjoy too much. Emma’s core classes are always pretty intense and this one was no different. My upper body was still sore from Monday’s bootcamp class so the chest and back stretch felt really good!
Wednesday, June 2
Peloton Pride Run 6/10/20 – Becs (30 minutes)
Peloton Pride Ride 6/23/20 – Christine (45 minutes)
Peloton Pride Ride 6/9/20 – Olivia (20 minutes)
Peloton Post-Ride Stretch 6/1/21 – Cody (5 minutes)
Happy Global Running Day! To celebrate the running holiday I did a morning run virtually with a few blogger friends you may recognize š
Also every year I pick one running non-profit to receive a donation and this year I picked Back on Feet, an organization that combats homelessness through the power of running. I always feel lucky that I have the ability to run and often think of that fact on Global Running Day.
Thursday, June 3
Peloton Pop Walk 5/20/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Walk + Glutes & Legs 9/11/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
Peloton Pride Full Body Strength 6/13/20 – Chase (30 minutes)
Peloton Mood Full Body Stretch: Calm 5/26/21 – Matty (10 minutes)
Peloton RENT Yoga Flow 6/2/21 – Ross (45 minutes)
I always love my power walk days, especially this week since my legs were feeling super tired and I had some pain in my left foot after Wednesday’s run. The Walk + Glutes & Legs class was an older bootcamp class that I stumbled upon last week. I didn’t know there were any tread bootcamps that focuses on power walking vs. running so it was a pleasant surprise! I enjoyed the full body stretch with Matty – there’s just something about his voice, it’s so calming.
Friday, June 4
Peloton HIIT Cardio 10/15/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Pride Celebration Run 6/1/21 – Matty (30 minutes)
Peloton RENT Ride 6/2/21 – Christine (45 minutes)
Peloton Hips Stretch 2/10/21 – Matty (5 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 3/15/21 – Irene (5 minutes)
I tried something new and did a quick HIIT cardio class before my run. I was hoping it would work as a nice warm up and it did! The PRide run was really fantastic. Matty dressed up for the occasion (as usual!) and he shared his personal stories and also Peloton member stories as well. I also started the Peloton Strong Core Store Body Program with Irene. I think I’ll really enjoy the structure of these core workouts over the next 4 weeks.
Saturday, June 5
Peloton Black Pride Ride 6/18/20 – Hannah F (30 minutes)
Peloton Pride: Pop Bootcamp 6/5/21 – Jess (60 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 3/16/21 – Irene (5 minutes)
Peloton Full Body Stretch 5/3/21 – Jess (10 minutes)
I finally took my first live #Saturday60 bootcamp on the treadmill and it was great. I loved giving out high fives in real time on the leaderboard. It was a wonderful full body workout and I was a little sore when I woke up this morning.
Sunday, June 6
Peloton HIIT Cardio Warm Up 4/29/21 – Jess (5 minutes)
Peloton 90s Hip Hop HIIT Cardio 5/21/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton BHM: Icons Bootcamp 2/8/21 – Jess (45 minutes)
Peloton XOXO, Cody 6/1/21 – Cody (30 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 3/16/21 – Irene (10 minutes)
Peloton Pride Reset Yoga Flow 6/3/21 – Denis (20 minutes)
This was the best bike bootcamp class that I’ve taken so far. I loved the overall structure of the class. The XOXO, Cody ride was a delight. I laughed most of the time – he’s just so ridiculous and funny. What wasn’t funny was that none of my stats registered after the ride, which was weird because I could see them during the ride. It’s annoying because now those miles won’t count toward my total for the monthly cycle challenge – ugh!
Total Weekly Mileage: 12.4 miles
Summary: 5 runs*, 5 bootcamps, 6 cycle, 3 yoga and 7 strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 281/285
June 1 kicked off Pride Month so I’ll be taking a bunch of the Peloton 2020 and 2021 Pride classes to celebrate. I take pride (no pun intended) in being an ally for the community so I enjoying celebrating all month. Part of celebrating is also educating myself which I can do through most of these classes as I always learn something new, especially in Matty’s classes.
On Friday I finally got a haircut – my last one was in June 2020 (yikes)! I had a lot of split ends so she ended up cutting off about 3 inches, which was fine because now I won’t have to deal with so much hair on my neck as it gets hotter this summer. Plus I’m sure it will grow back by the end of the summer now that it’s healthy.
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week š
Iām linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

You stack so many classes every day! Amazing. How fun to have a virtual Global Running pic with all the bloggers.
Back of my Feet was started by Anne Mahlum, the founder of Solidcore, who was on my Antarctica trip!
It’s a heat wave in Minneapolis too; we get all the extremes here, ha!
Have a wonderful week Kim!
kookyrunner says
I’ll admit that I do love stacking classes, maybe a little too much, lol.
Oh wow! Thats amazing the the founder of BOMF was on your Antartica trip. She must love seeing how the organization has grown and all the good that they do as well!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
I didn’t know they had a walking bootcamp either. Good to know — thanks Kim!
I am still in need of a haircut. I really just haven’t gotten around to it and pretty sure we’ll be doing a lot more than 3″. I like it when it’s up in a bun or back in a braid but I wear it down at night and it gets in my way!
kookyrunner says
Happy to share! I know that Jess has a least 2 walking bootcamps and I believe the other instructors have a few of those classes available too.
Liz Dexter says
I love the Global Running Day collage so much!! A great week again, even in the hot heat!
I haven’t had my hair cut since Feb 2020!!! I actually ran into my hairdresser yesterday – he was taking some air outside the salon as I walked past to pick up some garden tools from getting sharpened, and he was amazed to see how his cut had lasted so well – but I do have split ends and need to book to see him. Problem is, I have to pick up my new glasses this week, then my dentist is open again I think and I really need a check up …
kookyrunner says
Thanks Liz! running virtually with friends was fund for Global Running Day!
It’s good to hear that things are starting to open back up over there. Fingers crossed that things continue to improve!
Deborah Brooks says
No photo of the new hairdo!? You had some great stacks this week and you always give me ideas of new classes to try. I did not really care for the mood class I tried.Always looking for new core classes, Have a great week and stay cool
kookyrunner says
I will make sure to include a photo of the new haircut on a future post! I have only tried the mood stretch which I liked and I might do Chase’s mood strength class since it’s only 10 minutes. I don’t think I would like the sad mood classes so I’m going to avoid those.
Coco says
Great week, Kim! Iāll have to try that bike bootcamp when my arm is better ā Iām hoping one more week will do the trick as long as I donāt tweak it again. I was going to do Mattyās new pride run after running with Scooby Saturday (to round out my mileage) but I didnāt have it in me. I did do his Rent run to get me home. š
How fun to do your first Saturday 60 on the tread!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Coco! I think you would really like that bike bootcamp. I hope that your arm is better soon. I know you’ve been taking good care of it over the past few weeks. I still need to do Matty’s RENT run but I have it bookmarked.
I really loved doing the Saturday 60 live on my treadmill. I kept exchanging high fives with friends after each treadmill portion – I think it was our way to checking in to make sure we were all still taking class lol.
Jenny says
Love your memes, as usual. I know I shouldn’t laugh at that poor little girl coloring, but I can’t help myself.
I also got a long-overdue haircut today! The woman scolded me because the ends were so dry, sigh.
Great week of workouts as always! Hope this upcoming week goes just as well for you.
kookyrunner says
That is one of my favorite memes. The little girl’s face is just so classic, and has been me on several occasions at work lol.
Same for me! My hairdresser told me to never wait that long again before coming to get my hair done – my split ends were really bad.
Michelle D. says
Another great week of classes! I’m so impressed you power through those 60-minute bootcamps! I did my first 30 last week and thought I was going to have to call in for back-up LOL
That’s wonderful that you made a donation to BOMF! I’m so glad we’re running the Festival “together”.
I swear that last meme was me returning to work this week š
kookyrunner says
I often find myself cursing out Jess during the 60 minute bootcamps. I think it’s the only way I get through them, lol. She really has an obsession with EMOMs and AMRAPs.
The last meme was also me on Wednesday since I took Tuesday off work. Nothing like coming back to a loaded inbox of emails – ugh!
Wendy says
Did I spy some Silk Sonic workouts? Was that with Bruno Mars tunes? Umhmm, I do love me some Bruno.
Good for you, picking a charity for Global Running Day! Sounds like a good one!
And yeah, it’s HOT here too. Came too fast IMHO. Stay cool, Kim!
kookyrunner says
Yup you sure did! Silk Sonic is the new group with Bruno and Anderson Park – I am really loving their sound!
Totally agree with the heat coming on too fast, especially since it was 40 degrees over Memorial Day weekend.
Darlene S Cardillo says
Yes, we need o pic of the haircut.
Another active week of workouts. You inspire me.
I love my walks… especially now that it is so hot. I may skip runs and just walk fast.
kookyrunner says
I’ll work on getting a photo of the haircut to include in next week’s post lol.
I’m a big fan of walks – well not this weekend because it’s too hot – but in general I love walking, especially power walks.
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
LOL, that last picture. Some days really are just like that š Global Running Day was kind of a bust around here because it was raining all day. There was a club run scheduled but no one was excited about running in the rain so we skipped it!
kookyrunner says
Yes! That’s my favorite meme of the week lol. It was very hot here on GRD so I did a treadmill run to celebrate.
Kimberly Hatting says
Yes, I echo several others…where is a pic of the new do? š You had a busy week, with some crazy intense workouts! Well done!!!
kookyrunner says
LOL I know, I’ll get a pic of the new haircut for next week’s WRD post š
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
I got my first haircut in February after not getting one since June 2019. I got alot cut off which felt really good! Great week of workouts!
kookyrunner says
Same! It felt very freeing to get all of those dead ends cut off.
Marcia says
Yes I’d call it a heatwave as well. We’re supposed to stay very warm for at least another week here. Maybe it’ll make summer seem longer?? One can hope! way to get all those classes done!
kookyrunner says
I think we’re supposed to be pretty warm this week but not as bad as it was this past weekend so that’s good!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
I’m bummed that I was late to the party for the GRD collage. I love that you donate to a running non-profit each year as you celebrate Global Running Day, and your choice this year sounds like a great one! I’m bummed that I was late to the party for the collage.
kookyrunner says
Sorry you missed GRD but I am sure there will be another virtual blogger run sometime this summer!
Cari says
Thanks for being my gateway drug into the Pride classes. Not necessarily badge hunting, although that’s fun too, but want to do them during the month. I wish more were 45m though because I haven’t quite figured out how to toggle between workouts on the apple watch and my usual weekday run is more than 30m
Yay on the hair cut and congrats on another solid week
kookyrunner says
Yup – that’s how I feel too! I still need to make my way through the 2020 Women’s History Month classes but I wanted to do the 2020 Pride classes first since it’s Pride Month. I don’t think there’s anything in July so I’ll catch up on those classes then.
Jenn says
I live for your memes.
I’m so glad you finally got your hair cut! Isn’t it the best feeling?
kookyrunner says
Ugh it’s the best feeling! It feels nice to have shorter hair, especially in this heat and humidity.
Zenaida Arroyo says
I am also due for a haircut. My last one was in December. I also took Matty’s Pride Run and enjoyed it. Well, I love all of his runs. I did a Holiday Run with Mara and was laughing so much. Gosh, I would love to meet him in person. For sure I would hug him!
kookyrunner says
For sure! I would love to take one of his classes in person once the studios open back up.
