Happy Sunday. I hope that everyone had a good week.
Here’s a rundown of my workouts from this week:
Monday, April 26
Peloton Holiday Fun Run 12/12/19 – Olivia (30 minutes)
Peloton Turkey Burn Ride 11/28/19 – Robin (45 minutes)
Peloton BHM: Icons Yoga Flow 2/15/21 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
Peloton Standing Yoga 10/13/20 – Chelsea (5 minutes)
This was my first run on the new Peloton treadmill and I really enjoyed it. It will probably take me a few runs to get used to it but so far so good! The standing yoga class was pretty cool – I want to take more of this type of class.
Tuesday, April 27
Peloton Verzuz Run 4/25/21 – Andy (30 minutes)
Peloton Verzuz Ride 4/21/21 – Jess King (30 minutes)
Peloton Verzuz Full Body Strength 4/21/21 – Selena (30 minutes)
Peloton Yoga Basics: Pigeon 7/9/20 – Chelsea (5 minutes)
These Verzuz classes featured songs from producers Timbaland and Swizz Beatz and the playlists for each of the classes was amazing. So full of energy, great beats and you could tell that all the instructors loved the music as well. As you know, I’m not the biggest yogi, but I do love pigeon pose so I did this class in-between conference calls to get in a little extra stretch ๐
Wednesday, April 28
Peloton Bootcamp Warm Up 4/15/21 – Andy (5 minutes)
Peloton Versuz Bootcamp 4/23/21 – Adrian (45 minutes)
Peloton Pride: Rainbow Bootcamp 6/29/20 – Rebecca (30 minutes)
Peloton AT’s Ride to Greatness: Game 1 4/10/21 – Alex (20 minutes)
Peloton AHM Celebration: Live From Home 5/9/20 – Aditi (30 minutes)
The Verzuz bootcamp was good! My favorite bootcamp instructor is Jess Sims but I’m starting to like Adrian as well1 His personality is infectious and he uses simple, yet effective moves for the strength portion of the class. The Rainbow bootcamp with Rebecca was interesting because it was very cardio based – no weights on the floor but a mix of dance and bodyweight exercises. It was a different type of class but still fun.
Thursday, April 29
Peloton Pop Walk 4/22/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Turkey Burn Ride 11/28/19 – Alex (45 minutes)
Peloton Dance Cardio 3/5/20 – Ally & Emma (20 minutes)
Peloton HIIT Cardio 9/26/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
I didn’t really have a plan for this workout so I just threw a few classes together, lol. It ended up being a decent workout. Apple had a special badge for International Dance Day so that’s why I did a dance cardio class. I haven’t done one in a while and even though I’m not the best dancer, it was super fun.
Friday, April 30
Peloton RuPaul’s Drag Race Run 4/21/21 – Matty (30 minutes)
Peloton HIIT Cardio 12/9/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton BHM Celebration Bike Bootcamp 2/9/21 – Tunde (30 minutes)
I really enjoyed Matty’s run. I always feel like I’m running with a friend whenever I take any of his classes because he’s such a great storyteller. I haven’t done a bike bootcamp in weeks so I decided I should squeeze one in this week. I was surprised because I really enjoyed it. I much prefer the tread bootcamps vs bike bootcamps but I think I just need to keep doing more until they grow on me. Also the HIIT class I took was really, really good. Loved all the moves and the flow of the class and I got in a good sweat.
It was also my parents 50th wedding anniversary! Obviously no huge celebration this year but I’m hoping to plan something for them next year.
Saturday, May 1
Peloton Holiday Fun Run 12/20/19 – Becs (30 minutes)
Peloton Versus Ride 4/26/21 – Alex (45 minutes)
Peloton AHM Celebration: Full Body 5/26/20 – Selena (20 minutes)
Running with Becs always puts a smile on my face, especially when you add in holiday themed music. Alex absolutely killed it when he made the playlist for the Verzuz ride – it was so so good! I have no doubt that I will take this class again.
I also got my 2nd Covid vaccine shot in the afternoon. Happy to be fully vaccinated!
Sunday, May 2
Peloton Hawaii Run – Matt (20 minutes)
Peloton The White Stripes Ride 4/13/21 – Mayla (30 minutes)
Peloton The White Stripes Ride 4/14/21 – Denis (30 minutes)
Peloton Barre 4/30/21 – Ally (10 minutes)
I woke up feeling fine after the second shot – no side effects except for a sore arm. Since I felt fine, I decided to do my workout but too myself I would stop if I didn’t feel well. This weekend Peloton released new scenic runs and rides so I decided to take the Hawaii run with Matt and it was so amazing. Unfortunately I don’t think the scenic options are available on the app yet, just on the Peloton bikes and treadmills.
Total Weekly Mileage: 14.3 miles
Summary: 7 runs*, 2 bootcamps, 8 cycle, 4 yoga and 5 strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 256/264
It was a pretty good week. Work has calmed down a bit after a crazy first few weeks of 2021 and my team hired a new Director that will be starting in mid-May. Not sure if this will help or add more work to my plate, but it will be nice to go from a team of 4 people to 5. It’s really hard to be expected to run programs for employees globally with such a small team. My dad is improving little by little each day so we continue to be thankful for that. He was moved from the hospital to a rehab facility earlier this week where he is getting occupational, physical and speech therapy. The facility is happy with his progress.
I’m currently working my way through doing all of the Peloton classes that give badges so that’s why I’ve been taking a lot of classes from 2019 – I’ve been working my way up from 2018. I should get to the 2020 classes soon, lol. I’m not hating the holiday themed classes I’ve been doing since they are usually fun and easy going which are two things I definitely appreciate currently.
This week was the 2021 Peloton Homecoming. There were a few panel discussions and lots of fun things to see on social media. Instructors also offered special classes as well. John Foley, the Peloton CEO, gave a keynote presentation on Friday announcing a few new Peloton features. I’m most excited for the pause button that will be available later on this year for all of the on demand classes. I always thought it was odd that their bikes and treadmills didn’t have this feature!
Random question, but is anyone else having a really hard time with allergies this week? I was pretty much miserable the entire week. I’ve been using my allergy eye drops, Flonase and Zyrtec religiously but nothing seems to give me much relief.
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week ๐
Iโm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Glad to hear your dad is improving! And yay for the second vaccine with no side effects! I was outside all weekend and am feeling my allergies, but I have managed to not take anything because they’re not too bad (I don’t like how I feel after taking the meds so I try to avoid them) Sorry you are struggling so much with them this year!
kookyrunner says
I know what you mean about feeling sluggish after taking allergy meds. I find that if I take mine at night it doesn’t affect as much the following day.
Liz Dexter says
Glad to see your dad is improving day by day. And hooray second vaccine!
I am feeling a bit intimidated by Peleton though I have found some short stretch classes I like. I’ve started paying for the app so I need to get my value!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Liz! For the Peloton app I would start off slow and just try out a bunch of different classes and instructors. It can take a little while to find a groove but once you do it’s totally worth it!
Kimberly Hatting says
Great workouts, Kim! (OMG…RyPaul??? LOL) Great memes (as always). And such awesome news on your father’s progress ๐ Sorry the allergies are still so bothersome….I sure don’t miss all that from my pre-allergy shot days. Hope you get some relief <3
Kimberly Hatting says
sorry…autocorrect intervention…RuPaul LOL
kookyrunner says
I really got into RuPaul’s Drag Race this season so I really enjoyed those themed classes – super fun! My allergies weren’t too bad this weekend so I appreciate the break from coughing and sneezing every 10 minutes – ugh!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
I think in general (although it’s still really random) if you don’t have much of a reaction to the first, you won’t to the second. Glad it worked out that way for you, Kim.
Dance cardio is fun, even if I’m not dancer.
Your Dad being released to rehab is great progress! It may not seem that way, but it is.
kookyrunner says
Ahh okay, that makes sense. I actually felt like I had more of a reaction to the first shot vs the second shot (way more arm soreness on the first one).
I was able to visit with my dad today and the progress he’s made in just one week is really great. Still a long way to go but I am just so happy he continues to improve.
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
It’s great to hear that your dad is continuing to heal. Happy 50th anniversary to him and your mom!
Good job on all those workouts, Kim! And great memes as always, thanks for sharing!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Debbie! Glad you e joyed the memes this week – it felt good to bring them back ๐
Deborah Brooks says
I hear that Matty class is great! He is a character for sure. Can’t wait to hear more about your treadmill. Almost makes me want a to run on a treadmill. Racking up the badges huh!? Glad things are calming down for you nice to have you back. Happy anniversary to your parents
kookyrunner says
Matty is just such a ray of sunshine – I would like to take a class with him live once the studios open back up.
I am all about the badges – but working my way through all the classes that offer badges has been fun so far because I get to take all of the instructors. If not for that, I would stick to the same instructors all the time so it’s nice to get in some variety.
Jessie says
So happy your dad is doing better. And yay to minimal side effects from your 2nd dose! I would be curious to get an antibody test to see if my body even responded correctly, my side effects were so minimal…
I love the meme about voicemails…so true!
kookyrunner says
I was actually wondering if the nurse did the shot correctly because I didn’t have any side effects – it’s like I almost feel weird for not feeling bad??
Jenny says
Hahaha, love the meme of the person who slept in a weird position. Never have I been in so much pain as when I do “something” to my neck while I’m sleeping!
So glad your dad is doing better! And yay for getting your second shot! So crazy everyone’s different reactions- or lack thereof. Sounds like you had a great week.
kookyrunner says
Right?! I can’t even count the number of times I somehow have injured myself in my sleep. It’s so ridiculous, lol.
Michelle D. says
You always pull together the most amazing stacks of classes! I have not hit any of the Verzuz classes yet but have a bunch bookmarked. I’m glad you’re liking the new treadmill.
Wonderful news about your dad being released to rehab – definitely progress! And, it’s great to hear that your second shot went smoothly.
That tailgate meme is me to a T! LOL
kookyrunner says
You will really enjoy the Verzuz classes! I feel like I have SO many classes bookmarked, especially all the ones from this weekend from Homecoming. Lots of fun stuff to look forward to!
The tailgate meme still makes me laugh, lol.
Wendy says
Congrats on vaccine #2! And yes, you can take 2 zyrtecs, lol. You just might be more drowsy. Allergies have been awful so far for my patients. i hope you get some relief soon.
Glad to hear your dad is improving.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I didn’t have any side effects from the second shot, except for a sore arm – I was pleasantly surprised!
Coco says
Congrats to your parents on their 50th! I hope they are celebrating together soon. You did some solid Peloton stacks this week. 90 minutes! Glad you are liking the Tread so far.
That TJMAxx meme โ the checkout line crap is the best part!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Coco! My mom visited him in the rehab facility on their anniversary so they were able to spend a few hours together. We’ll do a better celebration once he’s back home.
I try to avoid looking around while waiting in line in TJMAXX or Marshalls so I don’t add at least another $20 to my bill lol.
Renรฉe @runlaugheatpie says
Looks like a really strong week Kim! and so glad you got your second shot!! Happy anniversary to your parents! And best news is that your dad. is getting better! Thank goodness!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Renee! It was a busy but good week.
Zenaida Arroyo says
What an awesome week for you with all of your classes! So many things to say. I have bookmarked the holiday themed classes because, well, there aren’t others. I was wondering if it is too early or too late for holiday music? Not at all. I saw posts about Homecoming but didn’t read more about it. I think that pause feature is great. I also wondered that too because sometimes on the bike I want to pause it and use the bathroom. What I would really love is for when I stack a couple of running classes, for them to play continuously. I hate that I have to stop, review it (sometimes I skip it, and then play the next one.
Happy about your dad! Congrats to your parents as well!!
kookyrunner says
I tend to listen to holiday music at random times throughout the year, especially when I need a pick me up ๐ I am so excited for the pause button. There’s been a few times when I have needed to get off the bike to answer the front door or use the bathroom and it sucks to lose time on the ride, especially the shorter ones. I agree with you about the stack feature – it would be great to opt in for continuous play.
Wendy says
I’m in Texas, but the allergies thing – it’s been a rough few weeks here. I have also googled “Can I take 2 Zyrtecs?” and “Can I take a Zyrtec and a Benedryl?” Any good recommendations on eye drops? This is on my list of things to ask the eye doc. My eyes have been so bad that I can’t tolerate my contacts for much longer than a work out.
kookyrunner says
It’s been such a horrible allergy season and I can’t figure out why it’s so bad this year!
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
IDK, I think a 5 min yoga class is just the right amount of time for me. haha! Pigeon pose is my favorite though. That’s good news about your Dad. Hope it progress continues. I threw a surprise party for my parent’s 50th anniversary. That was a big leap for me because I’m not the hostess with the mostest, but it turned out really well! Great job on all of the workouts this week!
kookyrunner says
I love the shorter yoga workouts, especially when they only focus on one pose! I love that you were able to throw a surprise party for your parents anniversary. Originally that’s what my sister and I wanted to do but Covid and my dad’s medical issue kind of squashed that idea unfortunately ๐ But we’re hoping to do a party for them eventually.
