Happy Sunday! Summer officially started on June 20. Mother Nature must have been in a great mood this week because we were blessed with beautiful weather (except for the humidity this weekend)! I think we only turned on our AC once or twice the entire week. If summer could be like this all the time (breezy, no humid, 70s) I would love it!
Here’s how my workouts went this week.
Monday, June 21
Bootcamp Warm Up 6/15/21 – Adrian (5 minutes)
Father’s Day Bootcamp 6/20/21 – Adrian (45 minutes)
Father’s Day HIIT Cardio 6/20/21 – Callie (10 minutes)
Father’s Day Ride 6/20/21 – Kendall (30 minutes)
Post-Ride Stretch 2/1/21 – Tunde (5 minutes)
Janelle Monae Yoga Flow 6/21/21 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
When I woke up I thought about baling on my workout because I was so sore from back to back OTF classes, but I’m glad I didn’t sleep in. I couldn’t do the special Peloton Father’s Day classes on Father’s Day so I decided to stack the and do them the next day. I really enjoyed them, especial Adrian’s bootcamp. He really showed love to the fathers in his life, especially his brother and best friend. He spoke about his father (who passed away a few years ago) for the last treadmill portion of the class and it was such a beautiful tribute to him. The yoga class after work felt really good, especially some of the quad stretches. My body very much appreciated the extra TLC!
Tuesday, June 22
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Pride Reset Ride 6/3/21- Denis (30 minutes)
Core Strength 3/22/21 – Irene (10 minutes)
Juneteenth HIIT Cardio 6/18/21 – Chase (30 minutes)
Full Body Stretch 11/27/18 – Rebecca (5 minutes)
I took OTF during my lunch hour. I may try to do this every now and then to mix things up, and it gives me a chance to sleep in a little later since I don’t have to workout in the morning. It was a really great strength focused class which gave me the opportunity to life heavy, which I always appreciate. The reset ride with Denis was very low-key which was great since my legs were a little fatigued. The HIIT cardio class focused on very basic, but effective moves.
Wednesday, June 23
Joshua Tree Run (30 minutes)
Pride Live DJ Ride 6/4/21 – Jess K. (30 minutes)
Pride: Indie Pop Ride 6/10/21 – Emma (30 minutes)
Post-Ride Stretch 4/2/21 – Cliff (5 minutes)
Core Strength 4/23/21 – Irene (15 minutes)
Pride Broadway Yoga Flow 6/22/21 – Kristin (30 minutes)
I haven’t done a scenic run in a while so I opted for the Joshua Tree run. I ended up doing a powerwalk instead of a run but it was really cool – it made me want to visit Joshua Tree. I’m still rocking and rolling through the Pride rides for this month. I appreciate that Peloton releases a number of Pride classes so that I can mix it up between yoga, rides, runs, bootcamps, HIIT and strength classes.
Thursday, June 24
Core Stretch 3/16/21 – Irene (5 minutes)
Janelle Monae Run 6/23/21 – Matty (30 minutes)
Janelle Monae Ride 6/23/21 – Emma (30 minutes)
Post-Ride Stretch 3/28/21 – Cliff (5 minutes)
Janelle Monae Bodyweight Strength 6/23/21 – Chase (30 minutes)
I love Janelle Monae’s music but I don’t think they make up a great soundtrack for a workout (a little too slow tempo for my taste). Despite that, I found the classes to be okay. I especially liked Matty’s run because he alternated between incline and speed every other song which was a nice way to mix up the run and make it go by faster.
I also hit 2 strength milestones – 350 workouts and earned silver in the Top Goals Challenge.
Friday, June 25
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (60 minutes)
Walk + Run 6/22/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
AT’s Ride to Greatness: Warm Up 4/30/21 – Hannah F (5 minutes)
AT’s Ride to Greatness: Game 4 6/12/21 – Alex (20 minutes)
Post-Ride Stretch 4/16/21 – Cliff (5 minutes)
Core Strength 3/22/21 – Irene (10 minutes)
Ugh! That OTF class was brutal. The treadmill block had six 3-minute ‘run for distance’ blocks and my legs just weren’t feeling it. thankfully the strength portion of class wasn’t too bad as we did a lot of work with mini bands.
Saturday, June 26
Pride: Dance Music Ride 6/15/21 – Ben (30 minutes)
Core Strength 3/22/21 – Irene (10 minutes)
Bootcamp: Advanced Full Body 6/26/21 – Jess (60 minutes)
Post-Run Stretch 6/17/21 – Jess (5 minutes)
Pride Celebration Yoga Flow 6/26/21 – Mariana (30 minutes)
The Pride Dance Music ride was a lot of fun! The #Saturday60 is my favorite workout of the week and this week’s full body bootcamp was brutal. It’s currently rated at an 8.9/10 which is 100% accurate.
Sunday, June 27
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (45 minutes)
Pride Live DJ Ride 6/25/21 – Cody (30 minutes)
Post-Ride Stretch 4/6/21 – Tunde (5 minutes)
Core Strength 3/31/21 – Irene (15 minutes)
Today’s OTF class was really good, especially the strength block. The moves didn’t look that hard when the coach was doing the demo but I was wiped out by the end of the block. Cody’s Live DJ ride was everything I thought it would be. Non-stop smiles from start to finish.
Total Weekly Mileage: 13.2 miles
Summary: 7 runs*, 2 bootcamps, 9 cycle, 3 yoga and 12 OTF/strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 295/296
Earlier this month, Peloton reached out to me for my mailing address. They said they wanted to send me something for participating in the APIHM classes in May. They sent packages to a few people who took part in Asian & Pacific Islander Heritage month. I received the package a few days ago – it contained a Peloton belt bag, mango tea, sticker, tea cup and a planner – all from small businesses that are owned by Asian & Pacific Islanders. I thought it was a very nice gesture.
I can’t believe that July starts next week – that’s just so crazy to me. Do you have any plans for the 4th of July weekend? I think we’re just going to barbecue but that’s it. We may also go to the park depending on the weather.
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

I’m finding it hard to believe that summer just officially started because it seems like its been so hot for so long already! Great job with all your workouts this week, and love the memes- especially the one about it being too peoplely outside:)
kookyrunner says
It does seem like summer started way back in May, lol.
Jenny says
Okay, all those memes are hilarious!!!! Love the plank one. I also love the “sleeping with the wrong pillow one” because it’s true! How did I get to the phase where I can injure myself while sleeping?
You had an amazing week of workouts! That gift box from Peleton is awesome.
kookyrunner says
I can even remember how many times I’ve woken up with an injury from sleeping wrong, lol. It always makes me laugh when that happens.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Sounds like an awesome week, Kim! Love the Peloton package. I’ve actually bought that tea while in Hawaii (and it’s good). Such a nice gesture.
Not sure what we’re doing for the 4th yet. I had assumed we’d visit my mom, but she hasn’t heard that they’re doing anything there. Not sure what’s up with that!
kookyrunner says
I tried the tea from the gift package this weekend and it was SO good! I always get excited when I find a new tea that I love, lol.
I hope that you’re able to visit your mom. Hopefully her facility will plan something fun for the 4th this week.
Marcia says
OMH that damn silent L! Lolol!
Great job on all the workouts this week! That’s a fun box you received from Peloton. What a nice surprise.
kookyrunner says
The silent L is so rude, LOL!
Wendy says
How awesome that Peloton sent you that gift pack! They seem to get their share of bad publicity and it’s nice to see them doing something like this.
Lol on the f(l)at stomach meme because, yeah, I need to get on that…
Great week! you’re killing it with those 2-a days.
kookyrunner says
Yeah they have been slammed with bad PR due to the treadmill debacle but I think they are slowly crawling out of that now.
Deborah Brooks says
your memes this week are the best. I am so the pillow one! i love how you mix up your peloton workouts so well. I have never taken a scenic ride! nice haul w the Peloton swag-enjoy it! Hope you have a great week ahead and enjoy your few days off
kookyrunner says
I am definitely the pillow one, lol. At least once a month I wake up with some sort of weird injury. How does someone hurt themselves in their sleep?? lol
I haven’t done the scenic rides yet but I do enjoy the scenic runs. Sometimes it’s nice to just have the music and do an unguided workout.
Jessie says
The silent L, love it. That’s a really cool gift basket from Peloton.
kookyrunner says
It was such a lovely gesture!
Michelle D. says
Another awesome week of workouts for you! How cool that Peloton sent you that gift!
I love the memes – especially the one about it being too peopley outside. I’ve had the same thoughts every time I step out the door LOL
kookyrunner says
Thanks! The gift from Peloton was so nice and thoughtful – I loved it!
Yes, it’s waaayyyy too peopley outside for me right now, lol.
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
Yep, the pillow meme speaks the truth! LOL
The weather was amazing at the beach. I agree, low humidity and temps in the 70’s is a little bit of heaven on earth!
kookyrunner says
The pillow meme is me at least once a month, lol. So glad that you had great weather at the beach this week!
Kimberly Hatting says
As always, a great week with even greater variety (and intensity!). The Peloton package is such a nice gesture! The memes are so funny …it’s “too peopley” LOL

Thanks #kimtwin! I did enjoy this week’s memes and they made me laugh a lot, which is always a good thing. Glad you enjoyed them 🙂
Coco says
How cool that Peloton sent those gifts out, and how lucky to get one! Of course, you earned. Look at all those badge on that strength class – congrats!
I haven’t reached out to my OTF studio yet. I’m not sure what I’m waiting for ….
kookyrunner says
I will admit that I am a Peloton badge junkie, lol. I do love doing all the themed classes for the most part and it gives me a mini project to do which is always good.
Liz Dexter says
Another amazing week – wow! Well done, so inspiring, even if I do hardly anything except run and some stretching here and there …
Love the memes of course. Nothing planned for 4 July here but that’s not surprising; hope you enjoy whatever you do.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Liz – And don’t sell yourself short, you do a lot too!
Cari says
how cool of peloton to recognize athletes who took the classes and support small businesses. Like we had the Year of Pride in 2019 for Stonewall 50, I’ve decided it’s the summer of Pride for Peloton classes since I skipped around more than I’d planned.
That Plank Party meme. Accurate!
kookyrunner says
Love the Summer of Pride idea!
Black Knight says
Another great week of sport, congrats!
Welcome summer even if it is not my season, I prefer the other 3. Too hot and humid, moreover I don’t like all that crowd on the beach. As a former and old sailor I prefer the rocks and the deep sea but we like to go to the beach with our grandsons and they need, rightly, of sand and appropriate depth.
I love the memes, my favorite is the silent L!!!!
Glad that the Peloton sent the gifts to you.
kookyrunner says
Like you, I also prefer any other season over summer, lol. I think Fall is my favorite, followed by Winter.
Jenn says
I’m so stealing that People-y meme. That’s how I feel. I had to leave the restaurant at the hotel the other morning, because it just started getting crowded. My sister-in-law was like “I have an extra mask!” Yeah, so do I. But that’s not going to keep the molecules from displacing from all these people. I’ll be outside, thanks.
Love that gift from Peloton! So thoughtful!
kookyrunner says
I can totally relate! I’ve only gone out to eat once since March 2020 and it was outside. I am not ready for indoor dining yet, especially because all the restaurants here look packed whenever I drive by them.
Zenaida Arroyo says
Love the gift you received from Peloton!! I’ve done a live DJ class with another instructor and did not like it at all because they were constantly talking. I was so annoyed by it. I am curious though how it will be with Cody. Haha, the stomach meme. That’s me saying it all of the time!!!
kookyrunner says
There’s definitely a lot of talking in the DJ rides and runs so I’m not sure if you would like any of them, lol. I like them because they make me laugh while I’m running on the treadmill so I don’t get bored.
