Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week. Is it just me or did September go by quickly? I can’t believe it will be October in another week but I’m very happy that we got a touch of Fall weather this week. It finally felt like sweater weather!
Here’s how my workouts went this week.
Monday, September 19
AFO Run: John Mayer 8/19/22 – Adrian (15 minutes)
AFO Ride: John Mayer 8/19/22 – Benny (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
AFO Yoga Flow: John Mayer 8/19/22 – Ross (15 minutes)
Coming off of the weekend, I knew I wanted some slower paced AFO classes and these John Mayer classes were perfect. Adrian had the best playlist for a short 15 minute run. I could see me taking that class again as a nice warm-up before a bootcamp class. I took it a little easy during the OTF class – what we like to call “a green day”. Kept my paces lower on the treadmill and didn’t lift as heavy on the floor. In hindsight I probably should have taken another day off before going back to the studio, but I already had it booked and didn’t want to pay the late fee for not showing up, lol.
Tuesday, September 20
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
AFO Run: Green Day 8/19/22 – Tobias (20 minutes)
AFO Full Body Strength 8/19/22 – Andy (20 minutes)
We had a nice endurance style type block on the treadmill for OTF. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either, lol. Both of the Green Day classes were really good! Tobias always has the best playlists, no matter the genre of music. Sometimes Andy’s strength classes can be a hit or miss for me but this one was great. A little repetitive but a great full body burn.
Wednesday, September 21
Warm Up Walk 5/31/22 – Susie (10 minutes)
Saturday60: 2000s Bootcamp 9/10/22 – Jess (60 minutes)
AFO Ride: John Mayer 8/19/22 – Jenn (30 minutes)
AFO Cool Down Ride: John Mayer 8/19/22 – Christine (10 minutes)
AFO Post-Run Stretch: John Mayer 8/19/22 – Andy (10 minutes)
I haven’t done a Saturday60 class in almost 2 weeks. I don’t like to take off too much time between these bootcamp classes so I was glad I was able to do this class in the middle of the week. I finished up the AFO John Mayer classes. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed with the 30 minute John Mayer ride. I’ve noticed that with Jenn’s classes, I rarely like the playlist. It started and ended great but the middle wad not my favorite.
Thursday, September 22
Gloria Estefan HIIT Cardio 9/16/22 – Adrian (20 minutes)
Gloria Estefan run 9/17/22 – Marcel M (30 minutes)
Bike Bootcamp: Core 9/1/21 – Jess (30 minutes)
Gloria Estefan Barre 9/16/22 – Ally (20 minutes)
Gloria Estefan Yoga Flow 9/18/22 – Mariana (30 minutes)
Happy first day of Fall! As soon as Summer starts, I wait for this day to come!
I was seriously dragging when I woke up so instead of starting my workout with a run, I decided to start off with the HIIT Cardio class. I’m not sure if that was the smartest idea but it certainly did wake me up quickly, lol. The Gloria Estefan classes were a lot of fun – I didn’t realize how many of her songs I enjoy.
Friday, September 23
Pre-Run Warm Up 9/14/22 – Kirsten (5 minutes)
Endurance Run 5/14/22 – Becs (60 minutes)
Post-Run Stretch 9/14/22 – Kirsten (5 minutes)
Gloria Estefan Yoga Flow 9/17/22 – Ross (30 minutes)
I had this endurance run bookmarked for a few months so I decided to finally do it. 60 mins with Becs can’t be a lot, but the class was actually pretty good. Love the pre-run warm up and post-run stretch with Kirsten too.
Saturday, September 24
AFO Run: Becky Hill 8/19/22 – Jermaine (30 minutes)
AFO Ride: Becky Hill 8/19/22 – Ben (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (45 minutes)
At first I didn’t think I knew any Becky Hill songs but I was happily surprised when I recognized quite a few of them during Jermaine’s run.
I got my Covid booster shot later on in the morning. So far side effects are similar to what I’ve had in the past – sore arm and overall tiredness.
Sunday, September 25
Florida Georgia Line Walk 8/31/22 – Selena (30 minutes)
Florida Georgia Line Full Body Strength 8/31/22 – Logan (20 minutes)
Florida Georgia Line Ride 8/31/22 – Matt (30 minutes)
Florida Georgia Line Yoga Flow 8/31/22 – Ross (30 minutes)
I felt pretty good when I woke up, a little tired and still had a sore arm, but nothing too crazy. This stack was perfect and offered just the right amount of movement for the day.
Summary:
Running – 18.8 miles
Cycle – 28.75 miles
Strength Training – 80 minutes
Bootcamp – 90 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 165 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 795/833
I’ve made good progress on the AFO classes this month – I have 30 classes left. If I don’t finish them by the end of September, I will definitely have them completed by October. Although a majority of the AFO classes were good, I think my favorites so far were the T-Pain, Wu-Tang and John Mayer classes.
After a few good weeks, my sleeping issues are back. Hopefully this is just a short setback.
…and now for this week’s memes.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week ๐
Iโm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
In Case You Missed It
Tuesday Topics: Fall Race Schedule
Wendy says
Oh yes, I was really excited to wear one of my new sweaters to work this week! It’s so cold in our office all year around that I needed a sweater over that one, lol
Speaking of being tired, that would be me as well after a very active day yesterday. I feel you on the insomnia too. But you had a great week of workouts!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Wendy! Hoping the insomnia is a short lived thing – I need my sleep!
Deborah Brooks says
It is not quite time for sweaters yet but I have hope now! I know I say this every week, I am always so impressed with your variety of classes. Nice job this week
kookyrunner says
Thanks Deborah! I feel like Peloton gives so many options for classes – it’s hard to keep up!
Liz Dexter says
I’m in socks again, and my thicker tracksuit bottoms (lucky I work from home, right?). Had a decent running week; lots of logistics next week to get my runs in then go down to support the London Marathon for the day on the 2nd! Well done on a good week and good to hear you got your booster and were reasonably OK.
kookyrunner says
I’m been rocking my thinner fabric pants for working from home but now I get to switch to my sweatpants – as you can see, I am very fashionable, lol.
Jenny says
Great job, especially with getting that Covid booster in there! I’m putting off getting mine because I’m pretty sure it’ll knock me out for a day (sounds like a course of action I could end up bitterly regretting…) I’m also excited about the first day of fall, although we won’t cool down here for quite a while. I’ll just enjoy it vicariously for now!
kookyrunner says
Luckily my reactions to all the shots has been pretty mild (sore arm/tiredness). My last booster was in December so I was way overdue!
Jessie says
The whole nyquil chicken thing sounds so awful!
Sounds like a great week of workouts friend!
kookyrunner says
Right?! I really don’t know what would make someone cook a chicken in NyQuil.
Marcia says
You are slaying all those AFO classes Kim! Well done! Sorry about the sleep issues. I seem to be ok in summer when I can absorb vitamin D from the sun but now that our daylight and warm weather are fading away, my vitamin D levels tank and my sleep suffers. Ugh. The struggle is real!
kookyrunner says
Oh man, that’s a bummer ๐ I also didn’t know that vitamin D levels could affect sleep. I always learn something new from you!
Coco says
LOL on an endurance run with Becs requiring a lot of endurance. I like her if she doesnโt go nuts with shoutouts. Somehow Jess Sims works them in more subtly.
I am not sure I took any of the Wu-Tang classes yet โ I keep forgetting to look back for them.
We definitely have cooler weather, but not sweater weather yet. Soon enough!
I hope you get some good sleep this week.
kookyrunner says
Becs was pretty mild with the shout outs which I very much appreciated, lol. I agree that it seems like other instructors do it more organically so it doesn’t bother me as much.
Darlene S. Cardillo says
We even used our fireplace. No sweaters yet. Holding off.
Wow. What a big week of workouts.
That last meme is so perfect.
kookyrunner says
Oh wow! It was probably cold enough here to turn on the heat for a little bit, but we just layered up. The temps seem back to semi-normal now (70 degrees)
Kimberly Hatting says
Oh, yes…sweater weather in Iowa! It wa 46F for my run this morning…What The WHAT????? My app (and the weather man) promised me low-50F’s, so this was unexpected chilly. You are knocking out those AFO classes like a badass…too bad I don’t have your dedication, LOL
kookyrunner says
The weather dropped so quickly! Summer has definitely left the building, lol.
Chocolaterunsjudy says
I’m sorry about the sleep issues. I had a week a few weeks ago when I wasn’t sleeping great. It really can make a difference.
But yes, Fall is most definitely here! I do enjoy Summer, but I’m always ready for Fall, too.
kookyrunner says
The lack of sleep really makes a difference, especially with my workouts. I am hoping my insomnia is a short lived thing.
Michelle says
That’s great you got your booster – and yay for no real side effects.
I’m sorry your sleep issues are back – that is the worst! I’m impressed you are able to work out as much as you do – lack of sleep really throws me off my game. I hope you get some rest soon!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Michelle! I am hoping the insomnia is short lived.
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
Fall is definitely in the air here and I love it (although I do love summer, too). It was downright chilly in the mornings at the farm last week (it was 38ยฐ on the morning I drove home).
Good job on your workouts! Glad you only had minor side effects from your booster.
kookyrunner says
Wow, 38 degrees?? That is definitely very chilly!
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
I do love having tap on my credit card!! Love love love it. I’m an idiot when it comes to using Apple Pay from my iPhone so tap is a very nice compromise! ๐
kookyrunner says
The tap is definitely easier, I just have to get used to it!
