Happy Sunday – I’m back! I apologize for not posting for the past few weeks. Unfortunately my dad had complications from his surgery a few weeks ago. Between dealing with that and work, I really didn’t have the bandwidth, or desire, to blog. Luckily my dad has made progress over the past week and they moved him out of the ICU yesterday. He’s hopefully on the long road to recovery. Now that I feel like I can finally breathe a sigh of relief, I feel ready to blog again.
I continued to workout over the past few weeks, and here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, April 19
Peloton Pre-Run Warm Up 12/4/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton After Burn Run 11/29/19- Jess (60 minutes)
Peloton Post-Run Stretch 12/4/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Pride Full Body Strength 6/10/20 – Matty (30 minutes)
Peloton Justin Bieber Yoga Flow 4/9/21 – Ross (30 minutes)
I haven’t done any runs longer than 45 minutes for a while so I wanted to do a longer run to start off the week. The playlist was really good and it made the time go by quickly. I’ve noticed that Matty’s strength classes, especially the longer ones, are pretty hard and this one was no exception.
Tuesday, April 20
Peloton Justin Bieber Run 4/9/21 – Matt (30 minutes)
Peloton Justin Bieber Full Body Strength 4/10/21 – Irene (20 minutes)
Peloton RuPaul’s Drag Race Ride 4/20/21 – Cody (30 minutes)
I moved my workouts to the evening so that I could do Cody’s class live for my 500th ride. I enjoyed the run more than I thought I would. The strength class was okay but moved a little slow for me. The ride was really fun, especially since I’ve been watching RuPaul’s Drag Race this season so I knew exactly what Cody was talking about when he mentioned certain contestants.
Wednesday, April 21
Peloton The White Stripes Run 4/18/21 – Selena (30 minutes)
Peloton Pride Ride 6/29/19 – Christine (45 minutes)
Peloton Pride Yoga 6/25/20 – Denis (30 minutes)
I don’t do a lot of Selena’s runs but I really enjoyed this music themed run.
Thursday, April 22
Peloton Bootcamp Warm Up 3/24/21 – Adrian (5 minutes)
Peloton WHM Celebration Bootcamp 3/9/20 – Jess (45 minutes)
Peloton Pride Ride 6/24/19 – Leanne (30 minutes)
This Women’s History Month (WHM) bootcamp was from last year but it was great because Jess picked songs from female artists across the globe. It was fun to hear songs from artists that were new to me. The ride was great because Leanne is always so bubbly and has a great personality.
Friday, April 23
Peloton Holiday Fun Run 12/20/19 – Selena (45 minutes)
Peloton Cool Down Run 10/9/20 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton The White Stripes Full Body Strength 4/15/21 – Andy (30 minutes)
Peloton Flash 15 4/23/21 – Jess (15 minutes)
Another good run with Selena and I loved the fun playlist that she selected. I decided to do the Flash 15 class live for my 300th strength class and it did not disappoint.
Saturday, April 24
Peloton Bootcamp Warm Up 10/27/20 – Chase (10 minutes)
Peloton Holiday Bootcamp 12/6/19 – Andy (30 minutes)
Peloton Holiday Bootcamp 12/20/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
Peloton WHM HIIT Like A Girl HIIT Cardio 3/15/21 – Selena (20 minutes)
Peloton AHM Bollywood Flow Live From Home Yoga 5/27/20 – Aditi (30 minutes)
Absolutely loved the holiday boot camps. I was in the mood for cheerful music and both classes delivered. After my workout was done our Peloton treadmill was finally delivery. It looks so pretty and I can’t wait to test it out next week for a few runs and bootcamps.
Sunday, April 25
Peloton Justin Bieber Warm Up Ride 4/7/21 – Jenn (10 minutes)
Peloton Justin Bieber Ride 4/10/21 – Irene (30 minutes)
Peloton Justin Bieber Ride 4/7/21 – Olivia (30 minutes)
Peloton Justin Bieber HIIT Cardio 4/9/21 – Adrian (20 minutes)
These were all fun classes. I’m indifferent when it comes to Justin Bieber’s music but the instructors picked good songs.
Total Weekly Mileage: 17.8 miles
Summary: 8 runs*, 3 bootcamps, 6 cycle, 3 yoga and 6 strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 249/257
I was pleased with my workouts this week as I tried to get in a mix of everything. Even though my days are very jam packed, I always set aside time to get in a workout – it’s a non-negotiable for me. Exercise helps to keep my anxiety in check, which is much needed right now. Also, I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone that has sent prayers our way. I can’t express how much we needed them over the past few weeks. It was amazing to have so much support from the blogging and running community and I’ll never forget it!
No memes this week as I haven’t been on social media that much, but I’ll share some next week 🙂
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Huge hugs (and your family) and a huge high-5 to your father! So glad to hear he’s out of ICU and continues to move forward <3 Great job keeping active with your workouts through this tough time. We all know how crazy life can be, but fitness can remain our constant if we so choose.
Kimberly Hatting says
oops…meant to say “huge hugs to you (and your family)” …the fingers were typing faster than my thoughts LOL

I’m so sorry for everything you’ve gone through with your dad but I’m so glad he is doing better and is on the road to recovery! We missed you! Looks like you are doing great keeping up with your workouts. I also feel like workouts helps me to manage stress, but the stressful times are when its harder to fit them in!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Lisa! He still have a long road to recovery but I finally feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel. Workouts definitely help me to manage my stress – that’s for sure.
Deborah Brooks says
I am so glad to hear that your dad is doing better. It is so stressful when our parents are sick! You really hit it with all the JB workouts! I did the ride and it was fun 🙂 Have a great week ahead and love to your parents
kookyrunner says
It really is, and it’s so hard when you want to help but feel helpless.
The JB workouts were fun – not too hard and very light hearted which is just what I needed.
Jessie says
I’m so sorry to hear what you’re going through! I was worried about you, but everyone needs a break from blogging, especially when dealing with so much. Glad to hear your dad is out of the ICU. Sending hugs to you!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Jessie! I felt so bad for just dropping off the face of the Earth with my blogging but also didn’t have the energy to blog either.
Michelle D. says
So good to have you back! It’s wonderful to hear that your dad is out of the ICU.
I’m glad you kept up your workouts – having that outlet is so important! And congrats on hitting some big milestones!!
Continuing to send hugs and positive thoughts to you and your family.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Michelle! He’s definitely taking small steps in the right direction. I think he will most likely be moved to a rehab facility by next weekend.
Exercise is the main thing keeping my anxiety in check and I’m so grateful for that!
Jenny says
That is rough! All my best wishes to you and your dad. And thanks for sharing that- a lot of bloggers have their reasons for not wanting to share personal details, but I like it when they do. This way we can all be rooting for you and your family to get through this.
Great job on the workouts! I agree- it helps so much to keep it up even when life gets stressful.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Jenny! I don’t mind sharing personal details on the blog since I feel like this blogging community is a second family 🙂

Thanks Judy for all the positive vibes and prayers you have sent our way the past few weeks – I really appreciate it 🙂
Exercise is one of the few things that has helped to keep me sane through the past few weeks!

Kim, I’m so glad that you’re back! I’m sorry to hear about your dad and I’m sending some virtual hugs and prayers your way. 100% exercise is a non-negotiable, especially when times get hard.

Thank you for the warm welcome back! I missed blogging but just didn’t have the bandwidth for it but I’m happy to be back now 🙂
Zenaida Arroyo says
Welcome back! I missed reading about your fun workouts. Happy to hear your dad is doing much better. I did the same 30 minute Justin Bieber run this morning. I couldn’t get over how much of a fan Matt is. I have bookmarked those two rides as well. Congrats on your 500th ride and on the delivery of the tread. Keep us posted on how you like it.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Zenaida, and thank you for keeping Tuesday Topics going on my absence! Wasn’t it hilarious to see how much MW loved Justin Bieber? I had no clue he was such a fan! I’m going to test out the treadmill tomorrow morning and I’m looking forward to it!
Darlene says
Oh no. No Memes lol
So happy to hear your father is doing better.
I bet your working out helped keep you sane.
kookyrunner says
Yeah it felt weird not to have any memes this week! There’s no doubt that working out has kept me sane during all of this craziness.
Denise @runheartfit says
Kim I’m sorry you’re dad was not well. Good to hear he is doing better. I didn’t know where you were and didn’t want to pry. Welcome back!

I am so glad to hear your Dad is doing better. I hope he’s well enough to come home soon! Huge congrats on the 500 rides. That’s amazing! And woohoo on the tread! Can’t wait for your review. After taking MW’s Justin Bieber run i realized I don’t like his music much — at least not for working out.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Coco! I enjoyed seeing how much MW loved Justin Bieber during that run, lol.
San says
I was wondering where you were… so glad to hear your Dad is on the road to recovery. No wonder you had no mental space to blog these last few weeks! Sending all the healing vibes to your family!
kookyrunner says
Thanks San! Yeah, there was just a lot going on and I didn’t want to blog if my heart wasn’t in it, but I’m glad to be back.
Cari says
So glad to hear that your dad is out of ICU. I can’t even imagine how much the workouts helped with the anxiety of the whole situation.
I’m not a Drag Race watcher, but I did Matty’s run at Coco’s suggestion and that was fun. It made me go look up the results too. Congrats on 500 — that’s amazing.
Hugs and all the love
Catrina says
