Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week. My week felt super long, probably because I’m off work next week. It always seems like there are 1,000 things to to before you take off work, but I felt good when I logged off at 5pm on Friday.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, November 14
Carly Rae Jepsen Run 11/13/22 – Camila (30 minutes)
Marina Green Park Ride (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Capture the Flag (60 minutes)
I forgot that there were a bunch of scenic rides I bookmarked on my Peloton bike so I think I’ll start doing those more. Sometimes it’t nice to just do a ride with music and no instruction.
I love the Capture the Flag workout. Half of the class has a normal layout and then you do the Capture the Flag workout for the second half of class. Essentially you work with a partner. Parter A is rowing while partner B does 12 reps of 3 different strength moves on the floor and runs a short distance on the treadmill. You keep switching with your partner during the 23 minutes block. The 3 flags to capture are 3,000 meters, 4,000 meters and 5,000 meters on the rower. I was SO close to 5,000 meters (we ended up getting 4,930). It was frustrating to be that close to getting the last flag, but at least now I have something to shoot for next time we do this workout.
Tuesday, November 15
Carly Rae Jepsen Run 11/12/22 – Jeffrey (30 minutes)
Run + Glutes & Legs Bootcamp 11/11/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
Arms & Shoulders Strength 10/22/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
The Carly Rae Jepsen run was okay. She definitely has very catchy music, but it’s just not my thing. The arms & shoulders class was very much an upper body burner – ouch!
Wednesday, November 16
Great Falls Ride (15 minutes)
Zion National Park Ride (15 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Premiere Run 11/16/22 – Hannah F (20 minutes)
Core Strength 11/15/22 – Jess (10 minutes)
This OTF template was pretty rough. Lots of speedwork with inclines on the treadmill and the floor had some sneaky hard core exercises too.
Hannah’s run was at 2pm EST which was perfect for me since eI had a break in meetings during that time. I was glad I was able to take her premiere run live – it was great. Her dad was even in the studio taking the class live! I am so glad that she will now be teaching tread classes.
Thursday, November 17
Our Future Selves Run: Jon Baptise 11/1/22 – Becs (30 minutes)
Pop Bootcamp 1/7/20 – Jess (30 minutes)
Post-Run Stretch 11/16/22 – Hannah F (10 minutes)
I had a pretty early work call in the morning and didn’t feel like having to rush through my morning workout so I opted to workout in the afternoon. Jon Baptise is such a positive light – that run was like a breath of fresh air. I was really into what he was saying and how he approaches life – it was fascinating. I actually had a few more classes stacked to do after that one, but I was kind of hungry and didn’t want to eat dinner late so I did a 30 min bootcamp to get in more running and strength. It ended up being the right decision!
Friday, November 18
Our Future Selves Run: Allyson Felix 10/11/22 – Becs (30 minutes)
LOL Cody 11/3/22 – Cody (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
I’m a huge fan of Allyson Felix so I enjoyed this run and hearing her speak about her career and her fight for change on how pregnant women are treated in the Track & Field world. The LOL Cody had two special guests – Matt Wilpers and Trixie Mattel and both had me cracking up. Matt was riding with different wigs during one segment of the ride and Trixie is just a riot. I really enjoyed the ride – it made me laugh.
The OTF template was the same template I did on November 2nd – I wasn’t a fan of it that day and my feelings haven’t changed, lol. My legs just felt really heavy and that didn’t help either.
Saturday, November 19
Warm Up Walk 5/9/22 – Jess K (10 minutes)
Saturday60: Advanced Full Body Bootcamp 10/29/22 – Jess (60 minutes)
*NSYNC Ride 11/18/22 – Erik (30 minutes)
*NSYNC Yoga Flow 11/18/22 – Mariana (30 minutes)
As always, I’m convinced Jess was trying to kill us in that Saturday60 bootcamp. On the flip side, I had such a blast taking Erik’s *NYSYNC ride. There was definitely singing and choreography happening on the bike, lol. I’m also looking forward to taking Cody’s *NSYNC ride later on this week.
Sunday, November 20
Power Walk 9/29/22 – Jess (20 minutes)
Extra 10: Hike 11/14/22 – Jess K (10 minutes)
*NSYNC Upper Body Strength 11/19/22 – Robin (20 minutes)
Cote d’Or Vineyard Ride (45 minutes)
Glutes & Legs Strength 10/8/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
I always underestimate how sweaty I can get taking power walk and hike classes. They are so good! The upper body was really good too – simple but effective moves in reps of 10.
Summary:
Running – 21.4 miles
Cycle – 32.2 miles
Bootcamp – 120 minutes
Strength Training – 80 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 180 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 865/871
Has anyone else been fascinated by the downfall of Twitter since it was purchased by Elon Musk? It’s been very interesting watching everything unfold in real time. This is going to make a great case study for a business class one day. I am not a huge Twitter user, but it’s really sad to see how it’s gone downhill so quickly.
I saw this on Instagram last night and it kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I get that a Thanksgiving 5K isn’t a thing for everyone, but I don’t understand the whole “enter a sweepstakes for not running” thing. It’s just weird.
…and now for this week’s memes.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

lol on CVS! So on point. I have not done any of the scenic rides. I think I need entertainment and distraction 🙂 the Nsync rides are next on my list. The Carly Rae classes got the songs stuck in my head all day
The CVS receipts never cease to amaze me – and they just seem to keep getting longer, lol.
The *NSYNC classes have been great so far – super fun!
LOL on the OTF class format not being better the second time. Congrats on your showing in Capture the Flag — I am sure you will get the 5000M flag next time!
I should have looked for you on the LB during Hannah F’s class, She is going to be another fun but tough tread instructor. And with Alex starting this week, the tread will be fire.
I haven’t seen the turkey trot hate. Maybe Coffeemate wants people to stay home and drink more coffee?
I deactivated my Twitter account today. It’s probably unnecessary, but i’m rarely on it and wanted to shut it down while there is still a (hopefully) functioning process for doing it. If I miss it, I might open a new account and not post content to it — it is (or has been) handy for breaking news and reaching out to companies
Thanks Coco! I am hoping to get the 5,000m flag next time for sure.
For some reason I can never see friends on the leaderboard if they take class on the app, it’s very strange and I wish Peloton would fix that!
I’m probably going to delete my Twitter account before the end of the year – if Twitter lasts that long, lol.
You are so consistent with your workouts.
I’m not much of a twitter user. But I kept my acct open just in case.
That cvs one is funny and true.
Turkey trot is a must for me but still it’s not for everyone. That’s nuts.
The CVS meme is still so funny to me. I just don’t know why their receipts are always a mile long, lol.
I don’t get the hating on turkey trot 5ks, lol! Just don’t do it, I say.
Ah Twitter. Since Elon has taken over, I get new ‘followers’ all the time aka porn stars. It’s really strange. I’m thinking about deactivating my account but I do enjoy some of the political discourse!
Right?! Like no one is forcing people to run a 5K on Thanksgiving. It’s totally a personal choice!
Twitter is such a dumpster fire right now but I can’t turn away from watching it implode.
I haven’t heard the Turkey Trot hate, and I’m only peripherally aware of what’s going on with Twitter- yes, I lead a sheltered life! The CVS meme is hilarious though- so true, and also the guy just looks so ridiculous with his “scarf”- it’s cracking me up.
Sounds like you had a great week as always! Those scenic rides sound awesome.
The CVS meme makes me laugh every time I see it, lol.
That Capture the Flag format sounds like a great class! Congrats on a great showing!
The whole Twitter thing has been fascinating to watch – what a dumpster fire! I’ve been debating how much longer I’ll keep my account.
The CVS meme is the best and so on point! LOL
Thanks! I will definitely go after the 5,000m for Capture the Flag nest time.
Same here about Twitter – I don’t see me having my Twitter account by the end of the year.
I’ve done all three of the Cody LOL’s so far. Totally hilarious!!! I did his NSYNC ride this morning, and that was a lot of fun as well. I need to cue-up some of the other workouts. I’m not a huge NYSYNC fan, but the themed workouts are usually a nice change of routine. As always, a great week of sweat equity for you!
The LOL rides are pretty funny. I didn’t care too much for the Carly Rae Jepsen one but the one with Matt and Trixie made me almost fall off my bike. I am doing the ride with JC Chasez tomorrow. I was a huge *NSYNC fan so I have really enjoyed the classes so far – super fun!
Nice job on your workouts. Enjoy your week off from work!
Thanks so much Debbie!
Those last two memes — LOVE! Thanks for the laughs!
It’s always disappointing to come up a littler short, but I have no doubt you’ll capture that flag.
The tread bootcamps — seriously, I do NOT want to work that hard!
The tread bootcamps are interesting because I am usually saying a few curse words throughout the class but it really is a great workout lol
Very odd about the not-doing-the-5k thing, can’t work that out.
I am trying to gear up to opening a Mastodon account but I’m so busy and I don’t really like learning new stuff! But I use Book Twitter a lot, interacting with other reviewers and authors and publishers, Instagram is OK but you can’t put links in your posts!
Epic work as usual. I hope you have a good week off this week!
Right?! It just seemed like a weird marketing ploy. I really don’t get it.
I haven’t really researched Mastodon but I can see me moving over to that platform after Twitter goes belly up
I did not see that sweepstakes. So odd. Great week of workouts as usual! I’m not sure what to make of Twitter either. It’s nuts.
Yeah it was just all very odd to me but I do wonder how many people entered the sweepstakes lol
I am a Twitter user and I haven’t seen much change since this started. I mean I know he fired half the staff and is requesting ridiculous hours from everyone else so I don’t like him as a person or CEO at all, but the interface seems to be working just fine. That’s not to say it will continue to do so, but it’s definitely funny all the memes that come from what a crappy CEO he is. That I’m thoroughly enjoying.
I love the N*SYNC workouts on Peloton! I took one the other day it’s so fun! Such a throwback, even though I was more of a BSB fan in the 90s.
Personally I always feel like the week before a vacation just drags. Time moves slower because I want to be on vacation!
It’s really amazing how bad he is as a CEO. I had heard that word from Telsa complained about horrible working conditions so this just seems to be how he runs a business.
The instructors really knocked it out of the park with the NSYNC classes – they are all so good!
You worked in a ton of workouts! Nice!
The lack of interest I have in anything Elon Musk is high. While it’s kind of a shame what he is doing, Twitter has never been my platform of choice and I don’t want to participate in his attention seeking.
Have a great week off! Don’t forget your CVS scarf for the cold days!
I don’t really tweet much on twitter but I normally go on there to look at other people’s tweets.
LOL at the CVS scarf hahaha
The turkey trot is interesting, but I guess its getting attention!
Way to go on the capture the flag workout. Sounds fun!
Happy Thanksgiving Kim!
Thanks Jessie!
