Happy Sunday – it’s game day! Anyone excited for the Super Bowl later on today? To be honest, I don’t care at all about this year’s matchup. I’m more interested in the Puppy Bowl and also the Halftime Show because it’s going to be EPIC!
Here’s a recap of my week in workouts:
Monday, February 7
Pre-Run Warm Up 1/23/20 – Matty (5 minutes)
WHM Celebration Run 3/23/21 – Matt (30 minutes)
Flash 15 2/5/21 – Jess (15 minutes)
Glutes & Legs Strength 7/25/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
WHM: Power Zone Endurance Ride 3/4/21 – Matt (30 minutes)
Matt’s run was all about highlighting famous female coaches. I thought this was a great theme for a run and I ended up learning a few things which always makes me happy! The Flash 15 workout was spicy but all of the Flash 15 workouts are like this so it’s to be expected at this point π
Tuesday, February 8
HIIT Run 12/26/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
WHM: Movie Buff Ride 3/29/21 – Kendall (45 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (45 minutes)
Wednesday, February 9
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
Hills Run 10/10/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
WHM: Broadway Ride 3/2/21 – Leanne (30 minutes)
Funk Ride 2/6/22 – Leanne (15 minutes)
OTF Endurance workouts are my least favorite, but this template wasn’t too bad. Lots of work alternating between jogs, runs and sprints on the treadmill and we got in some awesome Bosu work on the floor. It’s no secret that I am not a fan of hills, but I know I need to do them so a 20 minute hills run was perfect. Leanne’s Funk Ride had such a fun playlist! I would definitely take that ride again.
Thursday, February 10
Warm Up Walk 8/24/21 – Rebecca (10 minutes)
Verzuz Ultimate Mix Run 2/9/22 – Chase (30 minutes)
Verzuz Ultimate Mix Ride 2/7/22 – Ben (30 minuteS)
Verzuz Ultimate Mix Upper Body Strength 2/8/22 – Andy (20 minutes)
This was a nice mix. Ben’s class definitely had the best playlist – he always delivers on the hip hop playlists! Andy’s class had a little bit too long of a warm up for me considering it was only a 20 minute class.
Friday, February 11
AT’s Ride to Greatness: Game 2 2/10/22 – Alex (20 minutes)
Power Zone Endurance Hip Hop Ride 2/9/22 – Matt (30 minutes)
Flash 15 2/12/21 – Jess (15 minutes)
BHM Block Party Walk 2/11/22 – Matty (30 minutes)
2000s Walk 2/8/22 – Jess (20 minutes)
I was so happy that I could join Matty’s live class. He’s so much fun and so uplifting and it was a great way to start off my Friday. It felt like a very long work week so I needed that boost.
Saturday, February 12
WHM Celebration Ride 3/21/21 – Jenn (45 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (60 minutes)
I took an early afternoon OTF class so I was able to take a class with one of my favorite coaches. His schedule usually doesn’t align with mine so this was a treat! After the class, I stayed for a rowing clinic. While I do enjoy rowing, I know I need to work on my form, among other things, so the clinic was very beneficial.
As of last month, Orangetheory Fitness is no longer using the ab dolly. I used to always hate using this piece of equipment, but I can’t deny that it would be good to use it more often to strengthen my core. My studio was giving them away for free, so of course I picked up one after the rowing clinic.
Sunday, February 13
Bootcamp Warm Up 2/4/22 – Andy (10 minutes)
Saturday60: Pop Bootcamp 2/12/22 – Jess (60 minutes)
WHM: 90s Ride 3/18/21 – Emma (30 minutes)
I woke up feeling pretty good so I decided to do yesterday’s Saturday60 bootcamp since I couldn’t do it live. I heard from a few friends that it was really a good one and they were absolutely right. It was the perfect class for a snowy Sunday morning. Later on tonight I’m going to do a longer stretch class. There’s a 20 min stretch with Matty that I’ve had bookmarked for a while so I will most likely do that class.
Summary:
Running – 14.8 miles
Cycle – 54 miles
Strength Training – 70 minutes
Bootcamp – 60 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 513/517
Overall a decent week but work was kind of stressful this week. You know what really grinds my gears? When I have to send several follow up emails just to get a response, especially when it concerns a project I am working on. I just think it’s so rude to ignore emails. Even if you don’t know the answer, just a simple reply back stating that would be better than not replying back at all. It’s so annoying and it just holds up the process (I hate when things aren’t efficient)!
Switching gears, I’m very excited for the Puppy Bowl and the Halftime Show during the Super Bowl. I’ve got my appetizers and snacks planned out and I’m looking forward to an afternoon of fun. Hope everyone enjoyed the rest of the weekend!
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Do you know why OTF stopped using the ab dolly? It’s a tricky piece of equipment and can lead to back pain if used by someone whose core isn’t engaged or strong enough to do the move.
Alrighty, I am certainly feeling old. I don’t get the first meme and the music at halftime doesn’t sound appealing to me; however, I might feel differently after seeing the show. Check back with me later. LOL
Have a great week!

My OTF coach said they stopped using them primarily because any ab moves we do on the ab dolly, we can do on the floor. In addition, they are kind of bulky and take up a lot of space.
Kimberly Hatting says
Iβm looking forward to the commercials π Iβm not an NFL fan, so the Super Bowl is usually the only game I catch all season. And, itβs not even for the actual game , LOL, Great week of sweat equity, KimTwin π
kookyrunner says
I was a little disappointed with the commercials last night – a lot of them just didn’t make any sense to me, lol.
Wendy says
I’m not sure if I mentioned it but last month at our Zoom meeting, people started talking over me so I clicked out of the meeting. I’ve never done that before but I am so over Zoom meetings. And yes, those non-email responders? My boss is one of them It’s really hard for me since she’s probably 25-30 years younger than me with no experience. Brutal.
I love that you scored that ab dolly! I wonder why they are no longer using them? Looking forward to seeing those rock hard abs!
kookyrunner says
Wow, that’s so rude and I don’t blame you for clicking out of the meeting. People continue to lose their manners.
My OTF coach said they stopped using them primarily because any ab moves we do on the ab dolly, we can do on the floor. In addition, they are kind of bulky and take up a lot of space.
Coco says
OMG, the video call meme. And they wonder why we never get through the agenda! π
Iβve heard great things about yesterdayβs bootcamp β Iβm going to bookmark it for sure. I love Ben for strength but just canβt get into him on the bike β I need more energy to tolerate it I guess.
Interesting on the Ab Dolly. It defintiely is a scorcher.
kookyrunner says
LOL exactly! People just keeping talking and talking and then the call ends up running long. t’s so annoying!
Let me know how you like this week’s Saturday60 π
Jenny says
Hmm, that ab dolly looks scary. I’ve actually never seen it before and am wondering how it’s used… I have a feeling you’ll enjoy it.
I’m kind of looking forward to the Super Bowl. I enjoyed the playoff games, but I’m not really excited about either of these teams. However, we have a festive meal planned and that’s what counts, right?
You had a great week of workouts as usual! I always get ideas from you about different classes – Jess Sims is my new favorite.
kookyrunner says
The ab dolly can be a bit intimidating at first, but it’s definitely cool how many different ways you can work your abs while using it.
So glad to hear that Jess Sims is your new favorite instructor!
Deborah Brooks says
I have one of those ab dolley things around somewhere. They sure can give you a nice core burn. Maybe I should dig it out again. Wonder why they stopped using them. I am so excited for the half time show!
kookyrunner says
I’m going to aim to do the ab dolly a few minutes a day. I hope that will really help to strengthen my core! My OTF coach said they stopped using them primarily because any ab moves we do on the ab dolly, we can do on the floor. In addition, they are kind of bulky and take up a lot of space.

Another great week of workouts.
Not excited about the Super Bowl either.
I get the work stress. Iβm so happy to have a few days away. That and the warmer weather
kookyrunner says
So glad you were able to get a few days away from work and enjoy some warm weather too!
Darlene says
Yes. Itβs been wonderful
Michelle says
Ok that ab dolly is pure evil! Aren’t you the one who called it the Devil’s skateboard π
I’m sorry work is still stressful – you really need a break.
I love that first meme on the Super Bowl – I can’t wait for the halftime show!
kookyrunner says
LOL why yes, yes I did call it that…BUT I hope it will help me strengthen my core!
I was a little disappointed in the Halftime Show because I wanted more – it seemed so short!
Jessie says
Oh, what a score with the ab dolly! That will be a nice tool to have.
I’m on a ski trip with another couple who are cheering for the Bengals- the halftime show was fun! The puppy bowl is basically the best part of the day, isn’t it?
kookyrunner says
I was so surprised they were giving away the ab dolly for free!
The Puppy Bowl was so cute this year – so much better than the Super Bowl lol.
Marcia says
A free ab dolly? Yes please! I used to love that thing when we had a gym membership. After reading Deb’s comment though, maybe I shouldn’t want one. I enjoyed the halftime show but I’ve yet to see a decent commercial!
kookyrunner says
I’m going to try to use the ab dolly for a few minutes each day. I can see how it could be an issue if not used properly!
Cari says
I’m enjoying the game (maybe more because I truly don’t care who wins.?), but loved that concert. So much fun. Tweaked my playlist for tomorrow morning’s run which will not be in those shoes, though I do still own a pair
I hate the repeat emails. And then it’s a fire drill. Hugs.
kookyrunner says
Yeah i think it’s nice to watch the game when you aren’t too invested in who wins. Watching the Super Bowl when the Giants were playing was sooooo stressful!
Liz Dexter says
Good work bagging the ab thingy! I watched the Super Bowl in America one year – snacks, etc. – it was incomprehensible to me I have to say! It was in the 90s and I can’t remember who did the singing but it was a big deal and there was a big ad premiere, too, I think. I know the Green Bay Packers were in it because it was a trip where I was in Wisconsin then New Mexico so I saw all the cheese themed merchandise!
kookyrunner says
Yeah the Super bowl is a big deal here but I do think that the popularity of it has gone down lately.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Hope you enjoyed the shows yesterday! I was catching up on the Olympics. Not so much a football fan.
Getting that ab dolly for free is sweet! Now to use it. π
kookyrunner says
haha, exactly! But I told myself to use the ab dolly for at least 5 minutes a day. I feel like that’s a manageable goal.
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
We did watch the Super Bowl at our house. Other than the Ohio Michigan game, it’s the only football we watch on TV! I thought it was a good game though. Loved the commercials! Great score on the ab dolly.
kookyrunner says
I was more excited about getting the ab dolly than watching the game, lol.
