Happy Sunday. This week has felt like my own version of March Madness. I’m not going to lie – my motivation to do anything was super low this week. I definitely hit a wall towards the end of the week but still tried to get in my workouts.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, March 8
Peloton Warm Up Run 11/18/20 – Matt (5 minutes)
Peloton Megan Thee Stallion Tread Bootcamp 3/7/21 – Adrian (45 minutes)
Peloton Pop Ride 5/4/19 – Jenn (30 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 6/27/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Hike 11/20/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
I enjoyed starting off my day/week with the Megan Thee Stallion Bootcamp. It was a fun class but still a good workout. Work was 10 hours of craziness. The only thing keeping me going is that I know this busy season will be done at the beginning of April. I knew I would end up working late so I did a quick 20 min hike class right before lunch so I could get in more steps/movement.
Tuesday, March 9
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 6/4/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Crank It Up Ride 5/3/19 – Christine (30 minutes)
Peloton Holiday Yoga Flow 12/20/19 – Ross (30 minutes)
I really wasn’t in the mood to workout. In this case I should have gone with my gut because I didn’t like the OTF workout at all. We mainly focused on TRX moves on the floor which was a little boring. I’ll admit, my head really wasn’t in it which probably resulted in me injuring my leg during one of the moves. For one of the moves we had to hold onto the TRX straps while stepping backwards for a lunge. Well I’m not sure what happened but as I was lunging with my left leg I felt a pull in my quad. I’ve done this a few times over the years so I knew exactly what happened as soon as it happened. I hobbled through the treadmill block and then gave it some TLC once I got home.
Wednesday, March 10
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 1/15/20 – Jess (15 minutes)
My quad was still bothering me, so of course it was a leg heavy day at OTF. I did what I could on the floor and decided to powerwalk the treadmill block. I still got in a great workout, and all my splat points. Decided to skip doing a ride and just focused on a lot of stretching and massaging of my quad.
Thursday, March 11
Peloton Intervals & Arms Ride 5/3/19 – Emma (30 minutes)
Peloton Rock Fun Run 5/5/19 – Selena (30 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 1/28/20 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Turkey Burn Yoga Flow 11/28/19 – Anna (30 minutes)
My quad felt better so I decided to do a ride and a slow run for my workouts. It doesn’t really bother me while I’m working out but if I sit down at my desk too long without moving it’s very tight.
Friday, March 12
Peloton Club Bangers Ride 5/4/19 – Alex (30 minutes)
Peloton HIIT Run 5/3/19 – Matty (30 minutes)
Peloton Little Mix Bike Bootcamp 3/12/21 – Cody (30 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 9/24/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
My quad was feeling around 85% better so I tested it out during the run. I didn’t push the pace too hard and it felt pretty good. As I walked around the rest of the day it started to feel back to normal. Jumping on the live bike bootcamp was a last minute decision but I thought riding with Cody would be a good way to start the day. The class was okay, but I’m still not really loving the bike bootcamps. I’m going to try a few more to see if my thoughts change, but so far I much prefer the tread bootcamps.
Saturday, March 13
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
Peloton Fresh Friday Ride 5/3/19 – Denis (30 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 8/8/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
Peloton Holiday Yoga Flow 12/20/19 – Aditi (30 minutes)
Ugh – another endurance workout at OTF! I’m not a fan of endurance days but the template wasn’t too bad. The workout was a nice prep for next weekend’s Dri Tri.
Sunday, March 14
Peloton Little Mix Ride 3/8/21 – Hannah F (30 minutes)
Peloton Country Fun Run 5/5/19 – Matty (30 minutes)
Peloton WHM: Pop Core Strength 3/10/21 – Olivia (15 minutes)
Peloton Spotify We Everywhere Yoga Flow 2/21/21 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
I’m not sure if it was Daylight Savings Time or just feeling run down from the week but it took me forever to get moving this morning. I didn’t even hop out of bed until almost 9am which is super rare for me. Once I got moving I felt a little better but it was a rough start to the morning. My workouts were fine – nothing special, but it felt good to get my body moving. I’m definitely going to take it easy the rest of today.
Total Weekly Mileage: 10.5 miles
Summary: 6 runs*, 2 bootcamps, 6 cycle, 4 yoga and 10 OTF/strength classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 229/230
This week was hard. Allergies kicked my butt a few days which made me feel tired, but I had no time to be tired due to everything that is going on at work. My workouts weren’t the best this week due to feeling a little but worn down and then the fluke quad issue. Thankfully my quad is feeling 100% better now so it shouldn’t give me any problems next weekend for the OTF DriTri. This week was also the last week for the OTF Transformation Challenge. To be honest, I really wasn’t into it this year like I was last year. My head just really wasn’t into it at all, but I am looking forward to the DriTri so that’s a positive!
The Peloton treadmill was supposed to be delivered on Friday. The delivery finally arrived around 7pm (5 hours late) and just as the crew was getting ready to assemble it they noticed that the base of the treadmill was cracked and scratched. Obviously that wasn’t acceptable so they took all the items back and I called Peloton to re-schedule the delivery. The new delivery date is in May and they provided us with a $200 credit for the trouble. Hopefully the second delivery will be better. None of this really surprises me as I know that Peloton has had major issues with deliveries. I know they have invested a ton of money to improve this process but it’s still a work in progress.
…and now for this week’s memes 🙂
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
That’s so frustrating that the base of the treadmill was cracked! Glad they are giving you a credit, but Im sure its annoying to keep waiting for it. Those memes are great- I’m struggling big time with DST today.
kookyrunner says
For sure! It would have bene nice to have the treadmill already but good things come to those who wait, right? lol
Liz Dexter says
So sorry about the quad and glad you got it sorted. Our clocks don’t change for another two weeks so my husband’s meetings with his US colleagues are going to be interesting!
kookyrunner says
I always forget that the UK doesn’t change the clocks the same time as us. Thanks for the reminder because that helps me when scheduling meetings for work, lol.
Jessie says
Oh yikes, how frustrating about the treadmill! I’m glad they gave you a credit.
I’m curious why you decided on a Peloton treadmill- primarily the classes! Are you still able to watch regular TV on it if you want to?
Sorry to hear about your quad. Between allergies, crazy work hours, and the quad, take care of yourself Kim! Sounds like a tough week!!
kookyrunner says
Me too! I’m sure it probably got damaged in the delivery truck, especially if it wasn’t bubble wrapped properly. We mainly decided on it due to the belt. It has the slated belt similar to the Woodway treadmills but it’s about half the price. You can’t watch regular TV on it but I do a lot of the run and tread bootcamp classes so it was worth the investment to me.
This week sucked but next week has to be better, right?! (fingers crossed!)
Deborah Brooks says
I was so worried I would over sleep for my run today that I woke up a bunch to look at the clock. Another impressive and stellar workout week for you! Hope you feel better this week ahead
kookyrunner says
I originally woke up at 6:30 and was like “nope”! and went back to sleep, lol.
Darlene S Cardillo says
Even with a lack of workout mojo, you did a lot. I’m always impressed.
Thar sucks about your treadmill. I hope another arrives soon.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Darlene! Yeah I was a little bummed about the treadmill but then I was thankful that they told me about the issue instead of just putting it together and then me having an issue with it in a few months.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Glad that the quad issue resolved so quickly (although I bet it didn’t feel quick).
Sorry you’ve been so worn out. Allergies are such a misery!
And REALLY sorry about the treadmill. May? REALLY? Hopefully it’ll come before then!
Here’s to a better week this week, Kim!
kookyrunner says
When I called customer service on Friday they gave me the date in May but said that they would let me know if any earlier dates are available. I don’t know how much i believe that but I may call again sometime this week so see if any earlier dates are available.
Wendy says
For someone who was lacking in mojo, you sure got it done, my friend! Sorry about the quad injury but I’m glad that it’s better. Hopefully, this week will be better for you. What a disappointment about the treadmill, tho!!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Wendy! This week is already starting off much better so that’s a huge plus 🙂
Kimberly Hatting says
Well, I’m still that idiot putting on my lipstick before I drive to the grocery store…and then on goes the mask LOL But I do at least smile behind it because I do think people can see the smile with my eyes. Sorry to hear about the leg, but I’m glad it’s better. Excited to hear how the DriTri goes next weekend!
kookyrunner says
I can’t help but smile even when wearing a mask because i feel like my eyes look happy when I smile – very odd I know lol.
Coco says
I hope you quad is better! Can I lecture you for not only finishing that workout and going back to OTF the next day? 😉 Bummer on the Tread, but it’s good they noticed it. And nice that you got that $200 credit. I’ve got to fit some bootcamps into my schedule — I miss those endorphins.
kookyrunner says
Haha don’t worry. My favorite OTF coach already talked to me about my foolishness. She was like why did you finish the class?!
I was glad that they noticed the issue on the treadmill and said something rather than putting it together knowing it was messed up. I’m really hoping I can move that delivery date up too.
Michelle D. says
That first meme is everything! LOL! Pretty much sums up my work situation lately.
I’m sorry about your quad and how crazy work has been for you. Good to hear that your quad is doing better just in time for the Dri Tri!
Such a bummer about the treadmill – sounds like they’ve still got some delivery challenges to work through.
kookyrunner says
Yup! i knwo they have pumped a lot of money into improving the delivery experience but obviously they still have a lot of work to do!
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
Ugh, alleriges are the worst. The problem is as soon as they start feeling better I start forgetting to take my medicine, so it’s a vicious cycle. Let’s see…I won’t run outside when it’s icy, I struggle with heat, and the rest of the time it’s allergy season…we just can’t win.
kookyrunner says
Yup – same here! I don’t want to have to take Zyrtec daily but sometimes that’s all that will help me.
Jenny says
Ha ha… I hate the day we change the clocks ahead! Sounds like you had some challenges this week but worked through them. That’s really annoying about the treadmill though. i hope you put that $200 to good use!
kookyrunner says
DST always throws me for a loop for a few days but then I guess my body adjusts to it. I think eventually we should just stop doing it though.
Marcia says
Sorry about the quad injury (glad it’s better) and the treadmill disappointment. That’s a very long time to wait for a replacement unit. All the best with your upcoming Dri Tri!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Marcia! Customer service said they would notify me if an earlier date becomes available so fingers crossed that I can get an earlier delivery date.
Jenn says
I absolutely need more middle fingers. Ugh.
I’m so sorry you got hurt, and I’m glad you are feeling better. This is the first time I’ve really heard you down on OTF – usually, you are so invigorated by the workouts. I guess everyone has an off week.
That’s awful about the Peloton. For how expensive they are, and how long you have to wait, there is really no excuse. I consider myself a fairly understanding person and I very rarely complain but come on.
kookyrunner says
I do as well – especially when driving!
Yeah last week was definitely an off week for me with everything. I rarely dislike an OTF workout but the layout for that particular workout really didn’t work for me.
Totally agree about the treadmill and believe me, I voiced the same frustrations when I called them. They did say that they would notify me if an earlier delivery date became available so I have my fingers crossed.
Zenaida Arroyo says
Great week, Kim! I am always impressed with your workouts each week. What a bummer about the treadmill! Now you have to wait till May? Ugh!!
kookyrunner says
I was actually able to call customer service earlier today and get a new delivery date for March. Fingers crossed that happens!
Renée @runlaugheatpie says
so sorry you had a tough week Kim. I know all about that work stress, at least my version of it here. I’ve just got another couple of days to power through before I take a week off to go nowhere and do nothing related to the job!! April will be nuts and I don’t even want to think about May so I may as well have a week off work now, right?
what a bummer as well about some of the workouts this week and hurting yourself. And about the Peloton tread!! UGH!!! it’s like the week really was against you 🙁
hoping this week is already better.
kookyrunner says
LoL, yeah it was a rough week, but thankfully this week is a little better. Work is still crazy but I’m just keeping in mind that things will get better next month.
