Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Who do you want to win tonight? I don’t really care who wins tonight, but I’m looking forward to all the food and snacks. I’m also looking forward to the Puppy Bowl – I just think it’s the cutest thing ever!
Another busy week, but that seems to be the theme for my life recently, lol. This was also week #2 of the OTF Transformation Challenge!
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, January 27
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (60 minutes) + core workouts (5 minutes)
I always love Power workouts, except for the inclines on the treadmill, lol. It was nice to connect with some other members on my team after class (go #greenteam)!
Tuesday, January 28
Power Walk (30 minutes) + core work (10 minutes).
I didn’t feel like running so I opted for a nice power walk instead!
Wednesday, January 29
Orangetheory Fitness – Power/Endurance (60 minutes) + core work (5 minutes).
This was a tough workout. Between the pistol squats, step ups on the bench, regular squats and the treadmill, my legs were TOAST!
Thursday, January 30
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (60 minutes) + core work (5 minutes).
I hit a PR during class! I’ve been trying to lift heavier the past few weeks and it’s paying off. I was hesitant to try the chest press with the 30lb weights as I normally use 25lb weights but I did it! Hopefully I can increase it more next month.
Friday, January 31
4 mile run + core work (10 minutes).
I went into this run with no plan and told myself I would just stop when I wanted. 4 miles seemed good so I stopped there.
Saturday, February 1
Cycle (30 minutes) + 3 mile run.
Originally I was supposed to do an OTF workout in the morning but I canceled the class before I went to bed on Friday night. I’m glad I did because this brick workout was just what I needed.
Sunday, February 2
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (60 minutes).
It was hard to keep my heart rate up during this class because we switched a lot – we were only at each station (rower, treadmill, floor) for 3-4 minutes each. I really tried to push myself on the treadmill to ensure that I got my splat points!
Total Weekly Mileage: 15.5 miles
Summary: 6 runs*, 1 cycle class and 4 OTF workouts
*I include running from my OTF workouts and stand alone runs as well.
Grade This Week โ A
Overall a good week, although I was hoping to get in 5 OTF workouts – 4 is still good though! Honestly I needed the break on Saturday. I was SO tired all day and could barely keep my eyes open by 8pm. I ended up sleeping over 8 hours Saturday night which is SUPER rare for me. I was still sleepy before I took my OTF class this morning but now I feel back to normal. I think my body just needed a rest.
I ended up closing out the month with 60 miles of running, 60 miles of spinning and 17 OTF classes. I also pulled my OTF stats for January:
If you follow me on Instagram, I apologize for the influx of postings on my IG stories. We have mini 2 week challenges during the transformation challenge and the first one was all about social media. We were competing against the other teams to see which team could post the most on social media, therefore that’s why I had a ton of OTF related posts. The challenge ends today so I’ll be back to my normal postings now, LOL.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week ๐
Iโm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

5 OTF classes seems like a LOT — I’m not surprised you were tired after 4. Or maybe it was the grayness this week. ๐
Look at you lifting heavy! Congrats!
kookyrunner says
I think it was a little of both to be honest!
Catrina says
Congrats on the PR! If you feel too tired for a workout, itโs better to listen to your body. I bet you needed that sleep! It will help you to get through another busy week. ๐
kookyrunner says
Thanks! Yeah I decided to give in on Friday night and cancel my class for the next morning. When I woke up on Saturday, I knew I made the right choice!
Wendy says
Your arms look so strong, my friend! Glad you’re making gains at OTF. That’s what it’s all about!

Great job this week, Kim!! It’s fun seeing all your OTF posts…it’s been such a great fit for you, and you have been rocking all the workouts. Way to get it done!

Thanks! I finally feel like I’ve found something that I love but that also works for me. I still enjoy running, but I’m enjoying OTF because it’s helping me with my strength too.

Awesome week Kim! That’s a lot…you are so dedicated!

Way to go! Super solid week
Met some friends for brunch, both of whom are doing OTF. Such a new language.

LOL it definitely is a new language – I head to learn a lot of the lingo.

I’m happy you took Saturday off – that was a well deserved rest day. You’ve been pushing so hard! What a strong week (and year you’re having so far!). Here’s to a great February! Go Green Team!
kookyrunner says
Oh I still worked out on Saturday, just not OTF lol. I think I needed a lower intensity workout on Saturday which helped me out a lot!
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
Great job with all your workouts this week! Its smart to take a break when you need it. I’m sure your body appreciated it!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Lisa! I think doing an easier workout on Saturday was just what my body needed to reset.
Sandra Laflamme says
Nice on the PR on chest press! I wish we had OTF here. It sounds like such a dun place to workout!
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I love the OTF here because even though it’s new, all the members are really great and super friendly.
Jenn says
You rocked your PR! Great job!
You loaded up on classes this week – no wonder you were tired.
Would you believe I missed Puppy Bowl? I was trying to get some rest and didn’t have energy to get the remote. Dang it.
kookyrunner says
At least you can watch a reply of the Puppy Bowl! It was so cute this year.
Chaitali says
Congrats on that PR Thursday at OTF! And it sounds like it was a good decision to opt out of OTF Saturday and do the cycle/run combo instead ๐
kookyrunner says
Thanks! Yes, I was very happy with my Saturday workout decision – definitely made the right call!
