Happy Sunday! I hope that you all had a great first week of February! Another busy week but I felt like the days went by super quickly because I was so busy, and I love that!
I’m still rocking and rolling through the OTF Transformation Challenge. Just completed week #3 so there are 5 more weeks to go. The workouts felt harder than usual this week, or maybe my body is just a little fatigued.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, February 3
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (60 minutes).
Strength days are quickly becoming my favorite type of class because it allows me to lift heavier.
Tuesday, February 4
Peloton Cycle (60 minutes).
Felt good to get back on the bike and flush out my legs.
Wednesday, February 5
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (60 minutes).
We had a little bit of everything in this class – lots of running, weights and TRX moves on the floor and rowing. This class was also prep for a 12 minute benchmark run that we have coming up later on in the month. I tried to go a little bit faster than my average running pace.
Thursday, February 6
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (60 minutes).
This class was ROUGH! Thursday classes are always hard for me because it’s less than 24 hours after my Wednesday class. The classes this week felt harder than normal so I was pretty tired by the time this class rolled around, and it was a benchmark day – 2,000 meter row! This was my first time doing this particular benchmark and I gave it everything I had. My legs were complete toast by the end of the class.
Friday, February 7
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (60 minutes).
The inclines on the treadmill just about killed me. I definitely couldn’t give 100% during class because my body just felt fatigued, but I did the best that I could do.
Saturday, February 8
5 mile run.
Started off the morning with a run on the treadmill. We got a lot of rain and some snow on Friday and then the temperatures dropped overnight so I was a little fearful that it would be icy outside. Better to be safe than sorry! I also attended a free nutrition seminar at my OTF studio. It was super informative and I was able to get a few questions answered.
Sunday, February 9
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (60 minutes).
When I take Sunday classes they are always 3G which means we spend about 18 minutes on each station – rower, floor and treadmill. I prefer 2G classes so I can spend more time on the treadmill and floor, but it’s nice to mix it up every now and then!
Total Weekly Mileage: 14.5 miles
Summary: 6 runs*, 2 cycle classes and 5 OTF workouts
*I include running from my OTF workouts and stand alone runs as well.
Grade This Week β A
I definitely think that my body was very fatigued from Friday onward. Sure, I got through my workouts but just barely. I don’t like that feeling, especially when I can’t give it 100%. I’m going to make recovery more of a priority this week and hopefully that will really help.
On Friday I got some great news! I’ve volunteered with a local charity for the past few years. They only have one big event per year so it doesn’t take up too much of my free time, but I love the organization. On Friday I met with their communications person and she explained that they would like to get more involved on social media. They have a Facebook page but would like to get on Instagram and they want my help with that. I’m really looking forward to helping set up their Instagram page. I’m not an Instagram pro by any means but I am confident that I know enough to help them get their account up and running and hopefully thriving. If you’re interested in reading more about the organization, click here.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

OMG, all the OTF! Full on or not, I don’t know how you do that! I’d probably be dead.
The weather was so ugly the end of the week. π
That’s wonderful that you are helping out a charity!
kookyrunner says
The weather here was so weird Friday and Saturday. Today is fine but next week is going to be dark and rainy again, sigh π
Marcia Kadens says
It is normal and expected that you’d be especially tired 3 weeks into a new training challenge. The body works on a 3 week cycle and after this time, it adapts and steps up to the new work load. When I write training plans, I take this into account. It is SO common to feel very tired or even get sick in that 3rd week. That said, you really killed OTF! All the best with your charity work and their IG account!
kookyrunner says
Can I just tell you how much I love your comments?! I always learn something new π
Shathiso says
I love Marcia’s comment too! It makes a lot of sense and probably means you’ll feel better going forward. Well done on just staying consistent. Also on your work with charity! Let us know when the IG page is up and running!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much – and yes, I will definitely let you know!
Melissa says
Wow, what great workouts! I’ve never done OTF but been intrigued and interested in checking it out. I just run π WE had interesting weather this week too, ending with snow and icy. Is it spring yet?
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Melissa! According to the Groundhog, Spring should come early this year π
Wendy says
It’s no wonder you’re so fatigued. Two benchmark workouts in a row? I was tired just thinking about it. I’m sure you’ll be feeling stronger this week.
Congrats on that gig with the charity!
kookyrunner says
Yeah, the one class was a “benchmark prep” but felt like the actual benchmark workout lol.
Thanks Wendy! I’m looking forward to helping them with their IG account.
stephanie says
strong week. way to get it all done.
kookyrunner says
thanks
Jessie says
You are such an inspiration, so committed to the challenge!
What a great way to help out the charity you support via social media. Good luck!
kookyrunner says
Awwe thanks so much Jessie! You’re such an inspiration to me with all of your marathon training!
Kimberly Hatting says
Your OTF workouts look so killer tough. No wonder you’re feeling it LOL I keep seeing all those upper-500 calories burned, too π You’re killing it, Dear! That’s great you get to help with the Insta stuff for your charity.
kookyrunner says
Thanks #kimtwin! Yeah for some reason I was really feeling the workouts this week but I also didn’t sleep that well so I’m sure that didn’t help!
Darlene says
You are killing your OTf workouts. They would have killed me.
That looks like such a great charity.
kookyrunner says
Thanks, but I guarantee you could kick butt in an OTF workout!
Deborah @ Confessions of mother runner says
Wow what an intense week of OTF I would be exhausted. Sounds like the program is really working for you though. I am not sure I would make it through your week of workouts! Nice job and thanks for linking up
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I’m hoping that this week’s workouts will be a little less focued on legs!
Hannah says
That does sound like a tiring week! Maybe it’s time for a rest day? Hope you feel more recovered this week.
kookyrunner says
Yes! I think I need an active rest day this week – maybe a nice long walk.
Coco says
Gosh, you are killing it with OTF. I think they plan classes for people going every day during things like Hell Week, but Iβm not sure theyβre doing that now, so you may be getting more hard classes and less of a break! Most of my classed are 3G, which I think does help with the intenstiy tool.
That looks like a great organization! (Iβll make a donation too!) Glad you can help them get more attention!
kookyrunner says
Although I prefer 2G classes I do think that I need to start doing more 3G classes to mix things up and to spend more time on the rower.
Thanks so much Coco! As we get closer to the event this summer I’ll post more about the organization – they are always appreciative of any donations!
Catrina says
Back to School Shop sounds like a really great charity! So nice that you get to help them with their social media.
Congrats for cracking that 2000m row benchmark! I would have been dead after that! Such a great workout for the legs. The rower will make you a strong runner!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Catrina! It’s a really great organization and I’m happy that I can help them out even more.
I’m hoping that this week will focus less on legs at OTF – they need a little break lol
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
You got in a lot of hard workouts last week, no wonder you were feeling tired! Hopefully you can figure out your recovery for next week. Or maybe your body will just adjust to all these tough workouts!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Lisa! I’m trying to see where I can build in an active rest day this week.
Chaitali says
Great job with all those workouts this week! That was a good idea to run on the treadmill Saturday. I didn’t pay attention to the weather and see that there was still a chance of ice. I slipped on a patch but thankfully caught my balance before falling.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much! I am glad that you were able to catch your balance after slipping on the ice. Running in the Winter can be so scary!
RenΓ©e says
every time I read about your OTF workouts I feel like I need a nap!!! what a week! I know what you mean though when you are tired and pushing through your workout but not 100%.
what a lovely charity that is Kim! so nice that you can get a bit more involved with their social media!
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I’m super excited to help the charity with their IG page – it should be a great experience.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
You crushed it this week at OTF! There were some really tough workouts this week so I am not surprised you’re feeling fatigued. Hopefully, a little extra recovery time will help.
I love that you’re helping the charity with their IG page. Please share when it’s live.
kookyrunner says
The OTF workouts were on steroids last week – hoping this week will be better.
I will definitely share the IG page once it’s live!
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
I had kind of a draggy week last week as well, and this morning it was like I was back, I couldn’t believe how fast the workout went by and I didn’t want to stop. I kind of feel like the draggy weeks are the dues that pay for the good weeks, at least I try to tell myself that;-)
kookyrunner says
That’s awesome and a sign that you will have a great week of workouts!
Zenaida Arroyo says
OMG! I love this organization! Please let me know if you need help/donations. I am all about children and education. Great job on OTF! Reading all of your posts each week has me interested in checking out (again) the studio close to me.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much! I’ll post more about it as we get closer to the event π
I hope you give the OTF studio another try.
Jenn says
First of all, you are an absolute BEAST! Look at your rocking that OTF Transformation Challenge.
And congratulations on your work with the charity! That happened to me, this year, with the SOUPer Bowl event and it was really a great feeling. Good luck!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Jenn! We’re almost halfway through with the challenge – time is flying by!
I might have to pick your brain about the charity social media work!
Laetitia says
I’m amazed at how many orangetheory class you do… I can’t do two days in a row (I mean, I can and I have, but it wasn’t the best lol)
kookyrunner says
The most I’ve done is 5 days in a row and I don’t think I’ll do that again, lol. I usually try to only do a maximum of 3 in a row.
