Happy Sunday! Did you have good week? This week felt super long so I was very happy to welcome the weekend, and then of course the weekend went by in an instant, lol. Hopefully this upcoming week will be a little more quiet.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, February 24
Peloton Cycle (45 minutes).
I usually like to take an OTF class on Mondays but I had an appointment after work. Instead I decided to do a Peloton cycle class which was a lot of fun.
Tuesday, February 25
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (60 minutes).
I loves ESP because it’s a mix of everything. I felt like I was in a great space the entire workout. I was hitting my paces on the treadmill and I was able to lift what I wanted on the weight floor. It was a really great workout!
Wednesday, February 26
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (60 minutes).
Since it was an endurance day, I was surprised I didn’t get more splat points but that’s fine. As long as it’s over 12 that’s all that matters.
We also had the 12 minute benchmark run. The goal during this run is to run the farthest distance you can in 12 minutes. I kept a consistent 10 minute per mile pace. That was goal so I was happy I was able to do that. I’ve never been a super speedy runner but hopefully I can run a little faster for the next time we do this benchmark run.

Automatic PR!
Thursday, February 27
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (60 minutes).
This was a true strength day workout. On the floor, we went really heavy with the weights since the reps were lower. We had a good amount of inclines on the treadmill which was hard since this class was the day after the 12 minute benchmark run.
Friday, February 28
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (60 minutes).
I look forward to my “Happy Hour” OTF workouts every Friday afternoon and this one didn’t disappoint!
Saturday, February 29
Peloton Cycle (60 minutes).
Happy Leap Day! When I woke up my back was kind of “creaky” and I wasn’t really feeling a run. Instead I decided to get in a cycle workout and I think it was the best decision.
Sunday, March 1
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (60 minutes).
Hello March! This was quite a way to start off the month. Not gonna lie, this endurance workout kicked my ass. Each block was hard, but manageable. There were S0. MANY. BURPEES and they almost killed me, lol.
Total Weekly Mileage: 9.4 miles
Summary: 5 runs*, 3 cycle class and 5 OTF workouts
*I include running from my OTF workouts and stand alone runs as well.
Grade This Week – A
Can you believe that it’s already March? I ended the month with 52 miles (37 of which came from my OTF workouts) and 48 cycle miles. I also loved my OTF monthly stats too.
This week I did 4 consecutive days of OTF workouts. I don’t think to do this because I feel like my body feels very fatigued after 3 classes in a row, but it’s just how my schedule worked out this week. I did sumo squats with a heavier weight during my class on Thursday morning and my back has felt a little tight since then. Nothing painful (thank goodness) but I have been doing some extra stretching in the mornings to make it feel better.
Has anyone watched Love is Blind on Netflix? This show is so messy and I’m totally hooked on it. I’m currently on episode #5 and hope to finish the series today. So many of my friends recommended this show to me and I’m glad I finally started watching it this weekend.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
In Case You Missed It
Tuesday Topics: Where to score deals on running gear
You seriously crushed it again at OTF this week. Hope your back is feeling better this week. i have to check out that Netflix show we are looking for something new. Thanks for linking up and have a great week ahead
Thanks so much Deborah. My back is still not that great but I’m just going to keep doing stretches to help it out.
When my boys were in school, their PE teachers used the 12 minute run as a benchmark too. I wonder what is so special about 12 mins? Glad you did so well! OTF is serving you well.
I haven’t heard of that series! We’re making our way through Better Call Saul, which is as sharp as Breaking Bad. I didn’t think I’d like it, but I do. I’ll need something to watch after, tho!
That’s interesting! I was also wondering about the significance of 12 minutes – I’ll need to look that up.
My friend also told me about Better Call Saul so I should check that out too!
Yes to Love is Blind! My coworker got us all hooked and it’s so I watched the whole series this week and I can’t remember the last time I watched that much TV in one week. It’s kind of like Married at First Sight in reverse…I have no idea why I like these shows so much, my husband and I certainly took our time getting hitched. Congrats on a great week, I really want to try OTF some time.
LOL me too! I started on Saturday and finished it yesterday. I can’t wait to watch the reunion on Thursday!!
Another great week with OTF! I did my first back-to-back classes this week and almost died LOL! I’m so impressed with all of the classes you do. I hope your back is feeling better.
It’s hard doing classes back to back – I almost feel like my body is screaming “Why are you doing this??” LOL
I was going to say, 4 days in a row of OTF sounds rough! Makes more sense knowing you didn’t plan it that way.
Yeah it’s not good to do that many days in a row so I try to avoid that when possible!
Interesting that it says your average speed is 5.2, which definitely does not translate to a ten minute mile. Your math is right – their graphic is.. not
Congrats on amazing week
Oh I should have explained that – we were on the treadmill for other parts of the class (walking recoveries, etc) so the 5.2 reflects the 12 min run + the other treadmill portion so that’s why the average speed if off.
Ahh ok, that makes way more sense.
Great week Kim! I think I’d die if I went to OTF 4x in a row. Wow! I’m going to check out Love is Blind! Thanks for the recommendation.
LOL I know for a fact that you could rock OTF four days in a row – you’re so strong!
And yes, check out Love is Blind because you’ll get hooked after the first episode 🙂
Wow, you are crushing it with OTF! And Peleton on your off days is no joke either. I was bummed to miss Friday’s OTF but I’m glad I didn’t try to make it up today with all those burpees! I haven’t seen that show — I’lll have to check it out.
Thanks Coco! After the transformation challenge, I’m going to drop back down to 4 OTF workouts a week so that I have an extra day for my Peloton bike because I miss it!
The burpees yesterday were tough but I started on the floor so I was able to get them done first which was nice!
You are such an OTF queen!! I’m glad you’ve found your place there, it certainly has been a great fit for your fitness 😉 I’ll check out Love is Blind. We sat down to watch something on tv the other night, and couldn’t think of anything LOL (it was a non-basketball evening, ha!)
Thanks #kimtwin 🙂 OTF really feels like my second fitness family (my 1st fitness family is of course the running community)!
You burned 10’500 calories in OTF in February! Imagine how that looks like in terms of food!
Well done, Kim, you’re doing a great job with all your classes.
Do you have any races coming up in spring?
That’s what I was thinking too – I was like does all that calorie burn mean I can eat unlimited amounts of pizza?? LoL
I don’t have any upcoming races this Spring but I’m going to register for a few Fall races soon.
I’ve been obsessed with Married At First Sight (Australian version) but a friend recommended Love is Blind! Haven’t watched it yet but this friend is obsessed with it and said I should! The top you wore for Sunday’s endurance challenge was very fitting especially as you said workout was really tough!
I also watch Married at First Sight! I know these shows are so trashy but I can help but to love them haha.
Crushed it girl!! Good for you! I don’t think i’d enjoy this, but I do love seeing people in different fitness lifestyles.:)
Thanks so much Amanda!
Sounds like you had a great week! I hope your back feels better soon 🙂 I just learned that they’re opening an OTF in my town soon so I’m hoping to check out the event they’re doing this month to talk about their founders rates, etc. I’ve been hearing a lot about Love is Blind but I haven’t watched it yet.
Thanks! My back is feeling better but still not 100%. I’m still able to workout so I know its nothing too serious.
So exciting that OTF is opening in your town!
I have to admit I often wonder what’s in the water over at OTF. Seems like everybody’s doing it! Seems to be working well for you. Can’t wait to hear how the whole transformation challenge ends!
LOL I have to say that it really didn’t take me long to get hooked. I think the variety of the workouts is what makes it easy to love.
Way to go, rockstar!
I never thought I’d say this, but man, I miss burpees. I hope I can try them again one of these days!
This was a stellar week for you! Here’s to great things in March!
hanks so much Jenn! Oh don’t worry, you will get back to doing burpees!
Dayum woman! You and OTF are like a house on fire!! well done this week! Sorry to hear about your back though 🙁
12 minutes is the Cooper Test basically. Maybe you’ve heard me talk about it before? It’s a great way to track progress. At runiversity normally new runners do a cooper test in the beginning of their training cycle and then somewhere in the middle/ near the end goal of the cycle. The military uses the Cooper test for their fitness test I believe.
Thanks Renee! My back still feels a little off but it’s not affecting my workouts so I’m happy about that.
Thanks so much for the information on the Cooper Test! That is so interesting and totally makes since n why they selected 12 minutes as a benchmark.
I can’t believe how many OTF classes you can do a week. I peak at 3 lol But I also LOVE my Friday HH class… They’re on hold right now while I marathon train (long runs are saturday so I’ve used Fridays as rest or yoga days…) can’t wait ’til that’s over…
During the Transformation Challenge I’ve been doing 5 classes a week but I’m going to knock that down to 4 once the challenge is over. I need more time for rest days and other workouts!
I love all of the feedback that OT gives to you. That’s got to be really motivating. You look fantastic, BTW! So fit!
Thanks so much Debbie!
Great job once again with all those OTF workouts! You had alot of great workouts in February, especially with all those OTF miles!
Thanks so much Lisa!
We have the 12 minute run with our coaches when they assess our fitness levels, too, weird! A strong week but look after that back! I honestly don’t know how you do it!
Thanks Liz! My body is kind of sore this week so I think I’ve gotta calm down a bit lol
Nice job on your workouts this week Kim!
I can imagine 4 days in a row of OTF was intense! Way to rock the benchmark run!
Thanks so much Esther!
I have heard about that show but have not watched it at all. I just finished “Narcos Mexico” and “The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez”. The latter is so sad. Great job on the 10 minute pace. I remember when I was able to run that “fast” too. Haha, not no more. 🙂
I heard that the Gabriel Fernandez documentary is so sad 🙁
