Happy Sunday. I hope that everyone had a great week. My week consisted of helping to train a new employee on my team, a good amount of OTF, and of course, Peloton’s AFO weekend.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, August 15
Hills Run 10/29/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Pop Ride 5/15/22 – Cliff (30 minutes)
Lower Body Stretch 2/22/21 – Ben (5 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
I was still dealing with a tight right hamstring so I did a lower body stretch hoping that would help. It helped a little bit, but not as much as I had hoped. It’s not preventing me from running, but it does feel uncomfortable.
We’re also halfway through Marathon Month at OTF. I’m currently over the 13.1 mark so I think that I should be able to make my goal of 26.2 by the end of August.
Tuesday, August 16
Low Impact Ride 5/15/22 – Sam (45 minutes)
Saturday60: Advanced Full Body Bootcamp 8/13/22 – Jess (60 minutes)
Cool Down Walk 4/19/22 – Susie (10 minutes)
I really had to bargain with myself to get this workout done. When I woke up, I really wasn’t feeling it, so I let myself sleep an extra 30 minutes. I still didn’t feel like doing it when I woke up, but I knew my day was jam packed with meetings so I had to get the workout done before logging in for work. Of course I was glad once it was done, but that bootcamp class was hard!
Wednesday, August 17
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Hip Hop Run 6/3/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
Intervals & Arms Ride 5/14/22 – Mayla (30 minutes)
OTF had a PSL (Push-Strength-Lunge) theme workout to celebrate the launch of the Pumpkin Spice Latte. I believe this is the first time they have done this – I thought it was a cute play on words. What wasn’t cute was the workout – very much endurance based on the treadmill and lots of strength moves on the floor – ouch. My legs were already sore so the workout definitely didn’t help that.
Thursday, August 18
Warm Up Walk 4/27/22 – Adrian (10 minutes)
Thunder45 5/15/22 – Adrian (45 minutes)
2000s Ride 5/15/22 – Kendall (45 minutes)
Glutes & Legs Stretch 11/1/19 – Becs (10 minutes)
I did some bargaining with myself to get this workout done. I probably could have slept at least another hour but I knew I had another day full of meetings (anyway notice you have the most meetings on Tuesdays/Thursdays?) so the workout had to get done before logging in for work.
Friday, August 19
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
AFO Walk + Run: Maroon 5 8/19/22 – Jon (30 minutes)
AFO Ride: Maroon 5 8/19/22 – Benny (30 minutes)
I switched things up and started on the treadmill at OTF. I knew the treadmill block had inclines so I wanted to get that over with first, lol. It was also day 1 of the Peloton AFO Festival. I was able to squeeze in two live classes so I was happy about that. Both classes were great, especially Jon’s walk + run. He is always such a joy so I like his classes. There’s TONS of AFO classes that dropped on-demand (over 130) so I’ll be busy working my way through the classes the rest of August and September.
Saturday, August 20
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
AFO Run: Bob Moses 8/19/22 – Matty (15 minutes)
AFO Ride: Bob Moses 8/19/22 – Tunde (15 minutes)
AFO Ride: Wu-Tang Clan 8/20/22 – Robin (30 minutes)
AFO Post-Ride Stretch: The 1975 8/19/22 – Matt (5 minutes)
AFO Yoga Flow: Bob Moses 8/19/22 – Nico (20 minutes)
The OTF class was super hard. We actually did the same format for the August 1st class, so I remember it being very hard. I would say it is in the top 3 for hardest templates.
I’ve never heard of Bob Moses – I actually thought it was one person but during the run I found out that it was a duo. The music was okay – I didn’t love it or hate it. Robin’s Wu-Tang class was soooo good! I find that the classes are always amazing when the instructor is a huge fan of the artist or group, and that was the case with this class.
Sunday, August 21
AFO HIIT Cardio: Maroon 5 8/19/22 – Callie (30 minutes)
AFO Ride: Alanis Morissette 8/21/22 – Ally (30 minutes)
AFO Cool Down Ride: Alanis Morissette 8/19/22 – Jenn (10 minutes)
AFO Arms: Alanis Morissette 8/19/22 – Robin (10 minutes)
AFO Core Strength: Alanis Morissette 8/21/22 – Rebecca (20 minutes)
AFO Meditation: Alanis Morissette 8/21/22 – Aditi (10 minutes)
This was a great AFO stack! It was a non-running day for me but I still worked up a goos sweat with all of this cardio. I’m a huge Alanis fan so I really enjoyed all the classes. The arms class was a great 10-minute burner.
Summary:
Running – 18 miles
Cycle – 55.38 miles
Strength Training – 30 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 240 minutes
Bootcamp – 105 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 676/818
Peloton’s AFO Festival Weekend started on Friday. With more than 160 classes across 10+ disciplines and 3 languages, this yearβs music festival experience will be bigger than last year’s. There were quite a few live classes each day and then tons of other classes dropped on demand. Peloton sent some members AFO packages. Not sure why I was selected but I’m always appreciate of free swag!
I’ll have fun getting through all the AFO classes this month and next month!
Next week will probably be busy at work as it’s my last week before taking some much needed PTO from August 29 – September 6, but I will deal with it as I’m super pumped to be on vacation soon.
…and now for this week’s memes.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
In Case You Missed It

I am really excited to check out all the new classes that dropped this weekend! I have not heard of a lot of the bands so I will check some of yours and do them. That’s fun that you got some extra swag!
kookyrunner says
Same! I haven’t heard of half the artists but I love that most of the classes are short (10-20 mins) so it’s a nice way to check out the music artists.
Coco says
Iβm so glad you got the AFO gift pack β you deserve it! I think a lot of the artists are EDM, which is not my favorite genre, so Iβm dabbling in the shorter classes.
I have no doubt you will make your marathon goal at OTF β you are so dedicated.
All of your memes are spot on. The cat-napping/tv-watching is definitely what happens to me after 9 pm. π
kookyrunner says
I’m hoping I can complete my miles for Marathon Month by the end of next week. I’m booked for four classes so hopefully that will happen.
I am 100% the cap napping meme. It’s so hard for me to stay up to watch movies, lol.
Jenny says
Wow, what a great week. i went through this past week with sore legs every day, and it’s dawning on me that that’s what your normal life is like! If anyone deserves the Peloton AFO package, it’s you. Have fun making it through those classes. And I love your memes, as always. : )
kookyrunner says
Sorry you were dealing with sore legs this week – that’s never fun! I notice if I use my massage gun a few times a week it’s helpful in dealing with DOMS.
Michelle says
How fun that you received an AFO gift from Peloton! I got a few classes in and am looking to do more – especially the rest of the Alannis classes and Robin’s Wu Tang ride.
As always your mem’s are spot on – especially the Target one LOL
kookyrunner says
I have a few classes I’m excited to take, especially Green Day and T-Pain!
Kimberly Hatting says
I have not heard of many of the AFO artists, so it will be fun checking out the new classes. I’ve spent the last 5-6 weeks focusing so much on arms and core, I’m ready to get back to more “well-rounded” workouts. Good luck hitting all these classes, KimTwin…I’ll be supporting you, but probably not joining you in that conquest π
kookyrunner says
Ha! I know I’m a little crazy for doing all the classes, but it’s something to keep me busy since I’m not training for any races.
Chocolaterunsjudy says
You really pushed through those workouts this week, Kim — good job! Glad that you have that vacation coming up. You need it!
I do enjoy Fall, but I don’t like to see the days getting shorter, either. Can’t change the seasons unless you move though, so ya just gotta deal with it, right?
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy! It’s a staycation but I’m just looking forward to unplugging from work. September and October are always busy months at work so it’s the calm before the storm lol.
Wendy says
I actually have a Bob Moses song on my running playlist. The first time I heard it, I knew it was going to be a hit. But everyone likes different music! That’s actually one of the things about those Peloton runs I don’t think I’d like, lol. Glad you enjoyed the AFO fest and it was great that they sent you free swag. Have a great week.
kookyrunner says
I think Peloton tries to have a nice variety of different types of music for their classes but I find that how much the instructor talks can make or break the class for me.
Michele Heller says
I’ve heard so much about those new Peloton classes. Enjoy! What a great workout week you had. That cat meme is so me. I have to wake up at 4:00 every morning to workout so after kiddo goes to bed at 7:30, I’m pretty much just relaxing on the couch and passing out…haha.
kookyrunner says
the new Peloton classes have been great so far! Waking up at 4am to get in your workouts takes so much dedication. You’re a total bad ass!
Marcia says
You are slaying those AFO classes Kim! I am chipping away at them but not even close to you! How fun to get some surprise swag! I too took a class expecting a certain artist only to have it be something totally different. I’ll save that for Runfessions! Haha!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Marcia! Which AFO classes have you done so far? There’s just so many to choose from!
San says
I loved the AFO classes – esp. all the Green Day, Alanis Morisette and Muse Content π
kookyrunner says
I still have to take the Green Day classes – maybe this weekend!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
Yay for receiving free Peloton swag! That must have been a fun mail day.
Love your memes, especially the cat “watching” a movie. That’s me!
kookyrunner says
It was definitely a fun mail day π I am a huge sucker for swag.
Jessie says
I love the PSL workout. How creative!
Ha, people have asked me for directions here and I am the WRONG person to ask π I walk around with Google maps or Citymapper out all the time π
kookyrunner says
Right? It was a hard workout but at least the name was cute, lol.
Jenn says
Oooh! I’m a good direction giver. All my people made it to their destinations!
Cari says
Yes there’s an Alanis ride that gave me FOMO because she is our teenhood. I cannot believe JLP is 25+ years ago. HOW!?!?
Totally feel you on the arguing with yourself to get going.
The deodorant meme. Yes!
