Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a good week. Nothing earth shattering to report here – just another week of working from home and workouts.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, September 7
Peloton Power Zone Ride 1/27/20 – Christine (30 minutes)
Peloton Low Impact Ride 1/30/20 – Matt (10 minutes)
Peloton Hip Hop Fun Run 3/28/19 – Jess (45 minutes)
Peloton Sleep Meditation 7/20/20 – Cody (5 minutes)
I had the day off work for Labor Day but I still got up early to get my workout done. Hopped on the bike to start week 2 of the Power Zones training. The class was good and the instructor did a great job of keeping us on target with the different zones. The hip hop fun run was really fun and just what I needed after the Power Zone ride. I took it easy on pace which meant I could really enjoy the playlist, which was great!
Tuesday, September 8
Peloton Advanced Glues & Legs Bootcamp 9/7/19 – Jess (60 minutes)
Peloton Glutes & Legs Stretch 7/11/19 – Jess (5 minutes)
This class was SPICY! I knew that today was would super busy so I wanted to get in an aggressive workout in 60 minutes – I certainly picked the correct class for this task, lol. My legs were on fire by the end of the class so I definitely need that 5 minute stretch once the class was done. Well done Jess, well done.
Wednesday, September 9
Peloton Warm Up Walk 8/9/19 – Becs (10 minutes)
Peloton Power Zone Endurance Ride 12/19/19 – Denis (45 minutes)
Peloton Wyclef Jean Strength 9/8/20 – Robin (20 minutes)
Peloton Sleep Meditation 6/25/19 – Ross (5 minutes)
Thursday, September 10
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Peloton Wyclef Jean Ride 9/9/20 – Alex (30 minutes)
Peloton Wyclef Jean Yoga Flow 9/9/20 – Denis (30 minutes)
Friday, September 11
Peloton Power Zone Ride 1/25/20 – Olivia (30 minutes)
Peloton Caribbean Fun Run 9/5/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
I decided to do a mini brick workout because I’m trying to get used to running on tired legs. For the OTF Dri-Tri, I’ll have to run a 5K after doing a 2,000 meter row and 300 body weight exercises so needless to say, I need to get used to running on burnt out legs!
Saturday, September 12
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (45 minutes)
Peloton Advanced Full Body Bootcamp 9/12/20 – Jess (60 minutes)
I was nervous about these workouts all week. I would never think to do an OTF class the same day as the #Saturday60 bootcamp, but sometimes my options are limited for when I can take OTF classes. They only offer a few ‘mask required’ classes a day (sometimes only 2) so I have to make that work into my schedule. Both workouts were hard but I made sure to properly recover with a nice brunch and stretching!
Sunday, September 13
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
Peloton Power Zone Endurance Ride 1/22/20 – Matt (30 minutes)
Todays OTF class had a run/row for the cardio portion. I LOVE this format so I was happy. Tired, but happy, lol. I also finished Week 2 of Power Zone training. Still not 100% sold on it for a few reasons but I do think it’s making me a little stronger on the bike so that’s a plus.
Total Weekly Mileage: 16.8 miles
Summary: 7 runs*, 6 cycle, 2 bootcamp, and 4 OTF/strength/HITT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 134/135
Grade This Week ā A
I definitely felt like I was powering through this week. At the end of each day I was just happy to lay in bed and watch a little T.V. or Netflix. Each workday just felt really draining for some reason. I hope that the week ahead is a little better. I’ve also been dealing with a wrist injury. My ART doctor think it’s a slight strain/sprain. Last week when I was doing burpees my left hand slipped out of place so I think that’s how I injured it. I’m hoping that it gets better by the end of the month since I have the OTF Dri-Tri and I need to be able to do push ups and burpees.
In other news, I finally found the perfect mask. I didn’t think I could take my love of pizza to the next level but I was wrong.
Also, I tried to hold out, but I have now entered the world of pumpkin spice. I realize this is a very polarizing topic, but I love most things pumpkin (except pumpkin pie).
…and now for this week’s memes š
That’s it! I hope you had a great week š
Iām linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Wendy says
So sorry to hear about your wrist injury! My wrists periodically bother me (from RA) and i’ll wear my wrist wraps when it happens, even for pushups or burpees. Helps a lot.
Curious-are there non-mask OTF classes? If so, are the participants spaced apart? We don’t wear masks at CF, but we are in our boxes, spaced apart from the other class members.
Yep, that will be Thanksgiving this year!
kookyrunner says
I found a pair of wrist straps in my gym bag so I’m going to use those tomorrow and see if they help!
OTF does have mask optional classes – basically the schedule is 90% mask optional/10% mask required, which is why it’s hard for me to find classes that fit into my schedule. Those classes are capped at 12 people and there are 2 stations in between participants (about 12 feet). For those classes you wear a mask when you enter/leave the room and when you transition stations.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
Looks like another great week for you! That Saturday double though…wowza!
Sorry about your wrist – hope it heals quickly!
And thank you for that toilet paper meme…LOL!
kookyrunner says
Yeah that Saturday double will probably not happen that often – my body is feeling it today!
The paper toilet meme was my favorite this week LOL
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
There’s no shame in the pumpkin spice game! No one else in my family likes pumpkin so the fall treats are mine all mine. Hopefully your wrist will heal up soon, that’s really a bummer.
kookyrunner says
Thank you! Most of my family and friends don’t care for the pumpkin spice trend lol.
I’m so annoyed at my wrist injury but I know that it will heal up eventually – I just need to take it easy when it comes to weight bearing exercises.
Coco says
Your memes! I am always slow on the transition to anything on the floor to make sure I get set up correctly. I think I have the worldās slowest burpee!
Iām in awe that you doubled up with Jessās ADVANCED bootcamp this weekend. Yowzie!
I hope your wrist feels better soon.
kookyrunner says
The double that I did on Saturday most likely won’t happen again – it was too much, especially since the bootcamp was advanced. If I have to take OTF on Saturdays I may need to push the #Saturday60 off to Sunday.
Marcia says
Yikes! I hope your wrist is ok and it heals up quickly. Crazy how quickly some injuries can happen. My MIL just canceled Thanksgiving this year. I runfess I’m kind of happy about that! Haha!
kookyrunner says
Yeah as soon as my hand slipped I was like “damn!” because I knew I did something wacky to my wrist. I just have to remember to keep weight off of it as much as possible. That’s pretty cool about Thanksgiving! Now you can have a small Thanksgiving celebration at home š
Deborah Brooks says
OMG that pizza mask is perfect!! If only you could insert pizza into it. Wow you did some seriously tough classes this week. Nice job fitting it all in and the PZ classes as well. Hope your wrist is nothing serious. Have a great week ahead
kookyrunner says
The pizza mask is my absolute favorite. I really can’t wait to wear it out in public more often lol.
I’m finding it hard to fit in the PZ classes because I want to do other classes but I know I need to keep my legs somewhat fresh for the PZ rides.
Kimberly Hatting says
OMG, ouch on the TP (cheese grater) meme LOL I Hope your wrist isn’t anything serious…that’s a tough body part to have injured because it’s so vital. Gotta say, that pizza mask would look perfect with that pizza biking jersey…don’t ya think?
kookyrunner says
Yeah, I’m realizing the week how much I just my left wrist, lol. It’s really annoying to have this type of injury but I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that it gets better.
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
OMG your memes just keep getting better and better! Sorry about your wrist. Hopefully it heals quickly!
kookyrunner says
Tanks Lisa! I just have to remember to stop putting weight on it and hopefully it will heal faster.
Cari says
Those memes! As always on point. I Miss the I Know… movies
Way to go powering through on all the reasons. Gyms here are open, but OTF on W 72nd still appears closed. Wonder if they’ll reopen
Good luck on the wrist!
kookyrunner says
I feel like they could totally do another “I Know..” movie based on 2020.
I think some of the OTF studios in NYC are offering outdoor workouts but their studios aren’t reopen (I know of one that re-opened in Queens last week).
Cari says
Sounds like what Mile High appears to be doing. So hard as it’s a slim margin even in good times
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Great job this week Kim — so sorry about your wrist! Hope it heals up quickly.
Your memes (and pizza mask) definitely had me LOL. Doubly funny because I was actually thinking about all the romaine scares. We’re re watching the West Wing, and one episode last night was about Mad Cow. Whatever happened to that (maybe I shouldn’t jinx us considering how 2020 is going!).
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy. I have to remember to limit the amount of pressure I put on it throughout the day, like when I get up from a chair, or out of bed.
The romaine lettuce made me laugh as well. I thought to myself, “those were simpler times” LOL
Jessie says
Sorry about the wrist- hopefully it heals quickly and doesn’t hurt too much!
Love the new mask š
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jessie! I just have to remember to limit the amount of pressure I put on it throughout the day.
Liz Dexter says
Burpees can be so hard on the body if you just go a tiny bit wonky, can’t they – hope the wrist sorts itself out really soon and take care of yourself. Well done for persisting with those mask-only classes, I’m glad they’re offering them and hope you can continue doing them.
kookyrunner says
So true about burpees, and I was already super sweaty so that just made it easier for my hand to slip. I’m very thankful for the mask only classes as that’s the only way I felt comfortable going back to the studio.
Jenn says
Your memes always make my week!
I’m surprised that OTF has gone to mask-free classes! I don’t know how I feel about that. Those studios aren’t huge and I can’t imagine the ventilation is COVID-approved.
You are doing so great getting everything in and I love your mask. A has a buffalo wings mask, and I think I’m going to get him a chipotle one.
kookyrunner says
I’m glad that the memes can make you smile – we all need some laughter this year! I don’t agree with the mask optional classes for OTF but the gyms here don’t have a mask mandate (which is very odd considering all stores do…), but to each their own.
Zenaida Arroyo says
OMG! Those memes are hilarious!!! I did laugh. I’ve needed to laugh cause work is stressful.
How is that Caribbean Fun Run? I think I have it bookmarked but have not taken it yet.
That is a great mask. I also use the Chobani Coffee Creamer but not pumpkin spice. I have not seen it at the store yet.
kookyrunner says
I’m glad that the memes provide a level of comic relief. I think that’s so important these days! The Caribbean fun run was great – I did a nice easy pace and really enjoyed the music. I also use the Chobani hazelnut creamer and love it!
