Happy Sunday! I hope everyone has a great week! I was on staycation this week and it was really nice to have a full week off of work.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, May 9
Warm Up Run 10/4/21 – Matt (5 minutes)
Rock that Upper Body Bootcamp 4/25/22 – Selena (30 minutes)
Punk Rock Ride 4/18/22 – Charlotte (30 minutes)
Pop Punk Ride 4/16/22 – Bradley (20 minutes)
Rock Glutes & Legs Strength 4/25/22 – Rebecca (20 minutes)
I enjoyed the bootcamp, especially the two strength portions on the floor. Sometimes Selena’s classes can be a bit repetitive but the moves that she selected for each block were great! Also, I really need to ride with Bradley more often because he is just the cutest! He reminds me of Cody, but a more family friendly version, lol.
Tuesday, May 10
Paramore Ride 4/16/22 – Bradley (20 minutes)
Paramore Ride 4/29/22 – Charlotte (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (45 minutes)
Paramore Yoga Flow 4/28/22 – Aditi (20 minutes)
Loved the Paramore classes – I forgot how much I enjoy their songs. Back to OTF today! Class wasn’t too bad, but I can tell my endurance has taken a hit over the past few weeks. It will take me a little while to build my stamina back up but that’s okay and to be expected.
Wednesday, May 11
Paramore Bike Bootcamp 4/19/22 – Callie (30 minutes)
Paramore Run 5/5/22 – Selena (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Going back to 60 minute OTF classes is a little rough, but I’m sure I’ll get into the groove after a few classes. This workout was pretty intense with increasing inclines on the treadmill and nonstop work on the floor for the strength block.
Thursday, May 12
Warm Up Walk 5/2/22 – Marcel D (5 minutes)
90s Rock Run 5/3/22 – Jon (20 minutes)
Lenny Kravitz Run 4/30/22 – Jon (20 minutes)
Lenny Kravitz Ride 4/19/22 – Mayla (20 minutes)
Lenny Kravitz Ride 4/26/22 – Jenn (20 minutes)
Lenny Kravitz Pilates 4/24/22 – Kristin (20 minutes)
Lenny Kravitz Yoga Flow 4/23/22 – Nico (20 minutes)
When the Rock 22 series was announced, I was most excited for the Lenny Kravitz and Red Hot Chili Peppers classes. These Lenny Kravitz classes were SO good – I loved all of them. I also noticed how much I enjoy running with Jon on the treadmill. His energy always carries me through a run, even if I’m tired.
Friday, May 13
Spotify Women of Rock Walk + Run 4/27/22 – Olivia (30 minutes)
Red Hot Chili Peppers Warm Up Ride 5/4/22 – Bradley (10 minutes)
Spotify Women of Rock Ride 4/27/22 – Emma (30 minutes)
Red Hot Chili Peppers Core Strength 5/4/22 – Olivia (10 minutes)
Spotify Women of Rock Full Body Strength 7/27/22 – Selena (30 minutes)
Opted for the walk+run class since my legs were a little sore from previous workouts earlier in the week, primarily the OTF workouts. I absolutely loved the RHCP warm up ride. Bradley’s energy totally got me pumped up! The core class is a class I would do on repeat. It was a great core burning, especially since I haven’t done any ab specific work for almost a month.
Saturday, May 14
Fall Out Boy Ride 4/26/22 – Mayla (20 minutes)
Fall Out Boy Ride 4/25/22 – Ben (20 minutes)
Fall Out Boy HIIT Cardio 4/16/22 – Callie (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Fleetwood Mac Yoga Flow 5/13/22 – Nico (20 minutes)
I used to play Fall Out Boy a lot when I taught spinning and these classes reminding me why – really great high energy tunes, perfect for indoor cycling and HIIT cardio. The OTF class was pretty good. I always a notice a difference between classes taken on the weekend vs during the week. People seem to have a bit more energy during the weekend classes, lol.
Sunday, May 15
Hard Rock Ride 5/6/22 – Charlotte (15 minutes)
Rock Ride 4/28/22 – Kendall (45 minutes)
Red Hot Chili Peppers Upper Body Strength 5/4/22 – Jermaine (10 minutes)
Red Hot Chili Peppers Lower Body Strength 5/4/22 – Jess (20 minutes)
Red Hot Chili Peppers Yoga Flow 5/4/22 – Nico (30 minutes)
Kendall had an awesome playlist for her rock ride which made the class go by quickly, even though it was 45 minutes. I continue to enjoy the RHCP classes, especially Jermaine’s upper body class. Just a few basic movies but my arms were on fire by the end of the 10 minute workout.
Today is also my dad’s birthday. We went to a small outdoor car show earlier this morning and we will go out for lunch a little later if the weather cooperates (currently looks like rain).
Summary:
Running – 12.8 miles
Cycle – 61.15 miles
Strength Training – 100 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 165 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 585/609
I enjoyed my staycation. For once the week didn’t seem to fly by. Although I did run a few errands and do a few projects around the house, I always had downtime every day. I don’t want to jinx anything, but I may actually log back into Monday feeling refreshed and not as stressed, which would be a huge win.
My workouts this week felt much better than last week. I’m still not 100% but I can feel my endurance and strength getting better each day. I know it’s a process and will take some time until I feel back to where I was back in March.
Friday kicked off Homecoming for Peloton. They use this event every year to make major announcements. I’m most excited about the new arms program with Tunde and I’m also interested in their new rower. They didn’t release many details, just stated that they are coming out with a rower soon. I really love rowing so I’m interested to learn more about their rower, including the price point and more specifics.
…and now for this week’s memes.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

I am glad to read that you are feeling better! You hit all of the rock classes this week. Do you find the OTF classes harder than Peloton classes?
kookyrunner says
Now that OTF has changed their format a bit and gone back to 60 minute classes, I am finding some of their classes to be harder than Peloton. That being said, I still think Saturday60 is the hardest workout I do every week. I haven’t done one in over a month so I’m looking forward to getting back to that this weekend.

So glad that your staycation helped you to destress & relax! We all need that sometimes.
Happy Birthday to your Dad! Sounds like the perfect way to celebrate. The rain held off here — til now, there’s a thunderstorm rolling through.
A rower would be cool — but space! Wouldn’t it be nice to have a house large enough for all the fitness equipment you want?
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy! I needed the break and really tried to disconnect from work.
I am hoping that the Peloton rower folds up – looking forward to seeing more about the product once they share more information.
Wendy says
Sounds like your staycation came at the perfect time! I hope you feel all refreshed tomorrow too. It seems like a lot of us are feeling really overwhelmed right now. I hope things settle down soon.
I like to row too! Interesting that Peloton is coming out with a rower. That could be fun!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Wendy – it definitely did. I was beyond burnt out.
Michelle says
Yay for a staycation! I’m glad you were able to enjoy some downtime.
That email meme is perfection 😉
kookyrunner says
That email meme is me at least once a week, lol.

Yay on feeling better and celebrating your Dad’s birthday together — sounds like a good way to wind down your staycation. Just curious, are you thinking of planning any ^racecations^ later this year?
I am getting closer to going back to OTF, but when I walked into the studio to check the schedule I was minorly freaked out by the number of people in such a small place ….
I hope you are able to ease back into work and hold on to your relaxed vibe.
kookyrunner says
I’m not planning any racecations for this year but most likely next year. I hope that mentally I feel better about travel, etc, by then.
I can relate to how you feel about OTF. I still feel uncomfortable when I see a full class. Luckily my classes during the week aren’t too packed. My mom and I still wear our masks in class but not many others do.
The relaxed vibe went out the door as soon as I logged into work on Monday (more organizational changes for my team/the company). Ugh!
Jenny says
Yes, you must be feeling stronger because this was a killer week of workouts! I have to say you really enjoy Peloton and take advantage of everything they have to offer (I just do the same things over and over again, although sometimes I do get ideas from you.)
I’m glad your staycation was relaxing. i hope you feel rejuvenated going into this week!
kookyrunner says
I definitely try to take advantage of all the Peloton classes. While there are some classes I do less than others (HIIT Cardio, Shadowboxing), I appreciate that they offer such a variety of classes for everyone.

I’m so glad the staycation was a success! The RHCP classes have been awesome! I’ve done a couple on repeat, just for the soundtrack. Now that I’ll be on the road with the bike, I probably won’t be hitting up many Pelo cycling classes …which is a bit of a bummer. HaPpY BiRtHdAy to Daddy Greene! I remember this time last year, he was just barely on the road back to recovery. I’m glad he’s doing much better 😉
kookyrunner says
I just finished up a bulk of the RHCP this morning and it was the perfect way to start my day. I love their music so much!
Yes – what a difference a year can make. His birthday was so much better this year and we continue to be so thankful.

Hooray staycation! And I love that vegetable growing meme. After 2020 when I basically made 4 x £25 portions of runner beans, I “forgot” to put my seeds in this spring, again … !
kookyrunner says
I have tried to grow tomatoes and cucumbers a few times but I am always very disappointed, lol. I usually end up with a few baby cucumbers and two tomatoes.
Cari says
Being refreshed is so wonderful. I hope it lasts.
I forget which rock class I did recently but there was definitely some good RHCP. Such good music. 90s rock was the best.
Glad you’re feeling better/normal ish. 60m OTF though . Woof
Depending on its footprint, I might be interested n the rower. One thing I miss from the gym
kookyrunner says
Thanks Cari! The refreshed feeling didn’t last long as I found out about more organization changes on my team – it’s so exhausting.
Those RHCP classes were the best from the Rock 22 collection in my opinion.
Darlene says
Yes yes on a week off from work stress
Glad you are feeling better.
An awesome week of workouts.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Darlene!
Marcia says
Sounds like you had an enjoyable staycation! I’ve loved the Pelo Rock classes as well. I’d actually forgotten about Paramour! Haha! I’m interested to hear what Peloton does with the rower.
kookyrunner says
The Rock 22 classes have been great, especially the red hot Chili Peppers classes.
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
It sounds like you made the most of your staycation! Don’t you love having time to fit in all of the workouts you want when work isn’t getting in the way?
kookyrunner says
Yes! It felt nice to workout and not feelin rushed or like I was punching a time clock.
Jenn says
Look at those stacks!
I want a staycation! I think we are FINALLY planning something, and the dogs will come. Eek. How exciting is that?
I hope you had a nice break and restful time!
kookyrunner says
That’s awesome that you are planning a staycation/vacation!
