Happy Sunday. I hope that everyone had a great week! Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, July 11
Country Run 4/30/21 – Selena (30 minutes)
Post-Run Stretch 4/21/22 – Jess (5 minutes)
90s Pop Ride 5/1/21 – Erik (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
The run had more of a country-pop playlist so the class wasn’t too bad, lol. My back felt a little tight after the run so I got in a quick post-run stretch that was super helpful. The OTF class was more strength focused so it was a nice opportunity to lift heavier which I always appreciate.
Tuesday, July 12
Upper Body Warm Up 5/13/22 – Tunde (5 minutes)
Arms & Shoulders Strength 5/13/22 – Tunde (10 minutes)
House Run 4/30/21 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Pick-Me-Up Ride 5/1/21 – Hannah C (30 minutes)
Full Body Strength 5/2/21 – Matt (30 minutes)
I mixed things up a bit and started and ended my workout with strength training. I kind of liked it and might do that again in the future. I don’t run with Jess King too much but I really liked her vibe for this class. I know that house music is her favorite so maybe that’s why I enjoyed her energy and the class so much.
Wednesday, July 13
Intervals Run 5/2/21 – Matt (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Pop Ride 5/1/21 – Bradley (30 minutes)
I really enjoyed Matt’s coaching during the Intervals Run, and the format was great too. Although I felt the warm up was a bit long, this is a class that I would repeat. We’ve been focusing a lot on lunges and squats during the past few OTF classes and I am not a fan, lol. My legs are tired. For some reason the mileage on my OTF summary was incorrect – must have been some sort of tech issue because my mom’s mileage was off on her summary as well.
Thursday, July 14
Breakthrough Run 5/2/21 – Olivia (30 minutes)
House Ride 5/1/21 – Ben (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Yoga Flow 5/2/21 – Kirra (45 minutes)
Olivia is for sure the Energizer Bunny when it comes to runs. I couldn’t keep up with her but I tried my best. The strength block of the OTF class was a total upper body burner. I don’t know who designed that template, but I would like to speak with them, lol. After work I was able to see my ART doctor and get a much needed adjustment and some work done on my knee and IT band. The phrase “hurts so good” comes to mind.
Friday, July 15
Pre-Run Warm Up 1/19/21 – Robin (5 minutes)
Progression Run 5/1/21 – Becs (45 minutes)
Arms & Shoulders Strength 5/13/22 – Tunde (15 minutes)
Feel Good Ride 5/2/21 – Ally (30 minutes)
Lizzo Yoga Flow 7/15/22 – Mariana (30 minutes)
When I woke up I felt like the Tin-Man. I was so stiff and a little achy. I was hoping the pre-run warm up would help, and it did a little bit, but my body still felt tight. I finally started to feel “normal” about half way through the run. I finished up week #2 of the Arms with Tunde program with the 15 minute arms & shoulders class and it was pretty brutal. I know I’m going to be feeling that class for a few days.
It was also Lizzo day at Peloton as there were a bunch of Lizzo themed classes. She even made an in person appearance during the 2-for-1 ride with Robin and Jess Sims! Apparently it was too much for the Peloton servers and the whole system crashed. It took them about 2 hours to get everything back up and running again. I was bummed I missed a majority of the live Lizzo classes because of work but glad I was able to take the live yoga class at the end of the work day.
Saturday, July 16
Hike 5/20/22 – Jess (30 minutes)
Fit Family Fun 7/11/22 – Jess (15 minutes)
Upper Body Warm Up 5/13/22 – Tunde (5 minutes)
Arms & Shoulders Strength 5/13/22 – Tunde (10 minutes)
Power Zone Ride 5/2/21 – Christine (30 minutes)
2010s Ride 5/1/21 – Leanne (30 minutes)
My feet were SO sore when I woke up. It was the weirdest thing since that very rarely happens. I was already planning on making it a low impact day anyway, so I started off with a hike and then threw in some strength and cardio work.
Sunday, July 17
Warm Up Run 2/16/22 – Jermaine (5 minutes)
David Guetta Run 7/6/22 – Marcel M (30 minutes)
Cool Down Walk 3/16/22 – Jermaine (10 minutes)
David Guetta Glutes & Legs Strength 7/6/22 – Callie (20 minutes)
Spotify Baila Reggaeton Ride 11/3/21 – Camila (30 minutes)
Aussie Vibes Yoga Flow 7/14/22 – Kirra (30 minutes)
I had every intention of going outside for a run but unfortunately I woke up with a pretty bad sinus headache. Considering it was super humid outside, I decided to wait until the headache went away and then jumped on the treadmill. I know I would need high energy classes since I didn’t really want to workout, so this stack was perfect. I’ll do the yoga class later on this evening – I can definitely use a good stretch.
Summary:
Running – 19.7 miles
Cycle – 50.27 miles
Strength Training – 95 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 180 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 639/650
I finished the class requirement (15 classes) for the OTF #RemixInSix Challenge. The challenge officially ends next week so there is one more weekly challenge. I really enjoyed this week’s challenge which was “keep your splat points between 12-20”. It was a good reminder for me to pull back when necessary, especially on the treadmill.
In Peloton related news, I am almost done working my way through the Homecoming 2021 classes. I always feel like I’m playing a bit of catch up between doing the themed classes with badges, Artist Series classes and trying to work my way through Jess Sims library. It’s a lot, but it’s fun so no complaints. Also, if you haven’t seen the new Peloton ad with Chris Meloni, you’re missing out. Not only does he look damn good, but the ad is hilarious. I laugh every time I watch it.
Work has finally, FINALLY, calmed down a bit. I anticipate that the summer will be very low-key which works out well as it gives me time to prep for a very busy Q4. would say the beginning and end of the year are always our busiest times so I am appreciating the quiet right now. I also have some PTO scheduled toward the end of August so I’m looking forward too!
…and now for this week’s memes. Thanks to Kim for sending these to me!
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

You’ve reminded me I could do some stretch or relaxation classes on Peleton while the weather is horrific these next two days – it’s just cooled down to 84 at 6.45pm and tomorrow and Tuesday we have predicted high 90s, not something we have or cope well with usually here. Glad work has calmed for you – I have a week off now but so much booked in for the week after I might cave in and do a day midweek!

I’ve heard about the extreme heatwave hitting the UK – hope that you are finding ways to stay cool to beat the heat!

As always thanks for the chuckle with the memes. Spot on! And of course great week of workouts.
Glad you’re getting a bit of a breather at work before things pick up again in the Fall. That’s the way Summer should be!
kookyrunner says
Glad that the memes made you smile/laugh! π
totally agree with you about work and that summer should be the “downtime”.. ..Now if we could just get Summer Fridays or 4 day work weeks, that would be ideal lol.

You are rocking all those artist series classes! Did you see the core series coming up with Matty? Like I need one more thing on the calendar, LOL, but I’m going to try to follow that program and start Tunde’s program as well. We’ll see how those go π
Jenny says
What??? Matty has a core series coming up? Cool!
kookyrunner says
I did see Matty’s new core challenge but I’m not ready to jump into it just yet, maybe after I finish Tunde’s program!

Great week, Kim! Both of those memes are great. The last one is brilliant.
I did the Lizzo strength live and took Marcelβs run this morning. I am looking forward to the ride. I like to spread them out so I donβt get sick of the songs.
kookyrunner says
I just took Marcel’s Lizzo run and Jess’ Lizzo strength class this morning and loved both1 Marcel had so much energy, lol.

You’re going to work your way through the whole Peloton library π You are so well-versed though, you should right a list of your top classes in every genre!
kookyrunner says
Hahaha I don’t know about the whole Peloton library, but I’ll try to get to all of the Jess Sims classes since she is my favorite.

Nice work this week Kim! I’m always exhausted reading about your workouts, so it makes sense that you were sore this week. I’m sure you’re looking forward to your PTO next month! I’m on PTO now and I’ll take another 10 days in August. That’s what it’s for, right?
kookyrunner says
Thanks Wendy! I am very much looking forward to my PTO in August. I don’t have any vacation plans, but it will be nice to not have to log into work. Love that you are taking so much PTO this Summer!
Jenny says
Sounds like you’re enjoying the summer! I’m glad work is reasonable and you have some PTO.
Great job on the workouts as always! Yes, that Peloton ad is hilarious- I hadn’t seen it before. Luckily I have people like you to keep me up to date on what’s happening in the Peloton world. Ha, those memes (especially the second one) are hilarious.
kookyrunner says
Yes, so far so good in reference to work this summer. The first half of the year was so intense so it’s nice to have some breathing room finally.
So glad I could share that Peloton ad with you – lol!
Deborahbrooks says
Ok those are great memes! I canβt wait to hop on the Lizzie ride tomorrow!! How much fun would that have been in class? Hope your summer continues to be less hectic

When I saw that Lizzo appeared during the ride I was so shocked! I can’t imagine what I would have done – i probably would have blacked out, lol.

It’s great to hear that work is calming down for you Kim! Great mix of workouts as always! Omg that Pelo ad is hilarious!

That Peloton ad with Chris Meloni will live in my head rent free for a while, lol.
Darlene Cardillo says
Yo are killing it with those classes and Peloton workouts.
You are lucky to have a choice to run on the treadmill.
It’s been so dry and hot lately.
kookyrunner says
After wishing for rain on Sunday, we had rai all day long yesterday so I guess that made up for the weeks of no rain, lol.
Michelle says
Another great week! I marvel at how you manage all the Peloton classes along with OTF.
That Chris Meloni ad was the best thing I’ve seen in quite a while LOL.
Great to hear that work is calming down for you – definitely get some PTO in while you can!
kookyrunner says
I have thought about the Chris Meloni ad at least once per day since i first saw it, lol. I can’t imagine how fun it must have been to be on set filming it.
Thanks! I’m looking forward to my August PTO π

As always, your memes are great! These in particular made me LOL. π
kookyrunner says
Glad they made you laugh!
Jenn says
Hah! Great memes as always!
I hope you are able to get a little rest and recovery time. The humidity is making me stiffer than usual and the only solution is to keep moving. No matter how hot and humid it is.
kookyrunner says
My joints have felt pretty stiff the past two weeks so I think it might be the humidity. I didn’t even think of that so thanks for bringing it up!
