Happy Sunday! Winter is here. With temperatures below freezing all week, I was very appreciate of my basement gym. Thankfully we didn’t get any more snow or ice, so that’s a plus. My OTF membership is still paused, so it was another week of fun-filled Peloton workouts.
Here’s a recap of my week in workouts:
Monday, January 10
Top 50 of 2021 Run: #50-41 12/26/21 – Selena (30 minutes)
Core Strength 11/29/21 – Marcel M (20 minutes)
Holiday Party Ride 12/12/21 – Kendall (30 minutes)
Bodyweight Strength 11/25/21 – Erik (15 minutes)
Selena’s run was decent – I didn’t care too much for the playlist which made the run seem super long. Kendall’s ride was really creative. During the class she talked about an imaginary holiday party where all the Peloton instructors could attend (instructors from Germany, London and the US). It was funny to hear her talk about what she imagined they would be wearing or doing during the party. It made the class go by quickly too.
Tuesday, January 11
Top 50 of 2021 Run: #40-31 12/27/21 – Jermaine (30 minutes)
Full body Strength Warm up 11/29/21 – Marcel M (10 minutes)
Top 50 of 2021 Full Body Strength: #10-1 – Andy (30 minutes)
Glutes & Legs Strength 11/11/21 – Erik (15 minutes)
Gospel Yoga Flow 1/9/22 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
The run with JJ was awesome! I think this was the best playlist for the Top 50 series classes. I’m convinced that Andy tried to kill me during the AMRAP for the last 5 minutes of class – it was kind of nuts! I heard good things about Chelsea’s Gospel yoga flow classes and this one didn’t disappoint. The class moved a little fast for me but I modified the moves when needed.
Wednesday, January 12
Holiday Vacation Ride 12/15/21 – Robin (30 minutes)
Tabata Ride 11/8/21 – Cliff (15 minutes)
Top 50 of 2021 Run: #30-21 12/28/21 – Rebecca (30 minutes)
Core Strength 11/22/21 – Marcel M (10 minutes)
Slow Flow 12/7/21 – Nico (30 minutes)
My sleep has been off for a few days which is probably why I decided to sleep in before tackling my workout. This meant I had to cut my workout short, but I was okay with that as I was able to get in cardio and strength. On the plus side, I felt more awake for the rest of the day so that extra hour of sleep did wonders.
Thursday, January 13
Top 50 of 2021 Run: #20-11 12/29/21 – Adrian (30 minutes)
Walk + Run 11/9/21 – Tobias (20 minutes)
Full Body Strength 6/20/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Disco Ride 12/1/21 – Cliff (30 minutes)
90’s Pop Ride 11/1/21 – Cliff (20 minutes)
Full Body Strength 11/9/21 – Erik (10 minutes)
Adrian definitely brought the energy during his run. It seemed like he got more pumped up as he heard each song on the playlist, lol. The Discos ride was a lot of fun because the playlist included all of my favorite disco songs.
Friday, January 14
Recovery Run 9/10/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Power Walk 12/28/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
Top 50 of 2021 Ride: #50-41 12/26/21 – Leanne (30 minutes)
Top 50 of 2021 Ride: #40-31 12/27/21 – Alex (30 minutes)
Classical Yoga Flow 12/2/21 – Nico (30 minutes)
I knew I wanted to take it a little easier on my legs so the recovery run followed by a power walk was perfect. The Top 50 of 2021 rides were great too. At this point, I’ve heard the playlists twice before (for the Top 50 of 2021 strength and run classes), but the classes still felt fresh and fun.
Saturday, January 15
Top 50 of 2021 Ride: #30-21 12/28/21 – Cody (30 minutes)
Arms & Light Weights 12/1/21 – Cliff (10 minutes)
Saturday60: Advance Full Body Bootcamp 1/15/22 – Jess (60 minutes)
Amy Winehouse Post-Run Stretch 1/14/21 – Joslyn (10 minutes)
Of course Cody’s class was awesome. I find that whenever I’m not in the mood to workout, that quickly changes once I take one of his classes. First advanced #Saturday60 bootcamp of 2022 and I was toast! Even after doing a 10 minute stretch after class, I just sat on the floor for a few more minutes to get myself together. Also I highly recommend the Amy Winehouse post-run stretch – it was really good.
Sunday, January 16
My back was hurting me after yesterday’s class. It felt a little better when I woke up, but still a little stiff. I’m not sure what workouts I’ll be able to do today, if any, but I’ll see how it feels this afternoon.
On a more positive note, it’s my mom’s birthday! We plan on getting dinner delivered from a local restaurant and enjoying a few drinks later on today.
Summary:
Running – 15.6 miles
Cycle – 43.79 miles
Strength Training – 130 minutes
Bootcamp – 60 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 487/493
Winter was out in full force this week, especially this weekend. Kudos to anyone that braved the outdoors for a run. I was freezing just walking back and forth from my car.
How is the grocery situation where you live? We’re starting to see empty shelves again, but I know it will get better in a few weeks. Also related to food, I saw this meme and automatically shook my head in agreement. The prices have definitely gone up over the past few weeks!
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
In Case You Missed It

Happy Birthday to your Mom! Have fun celebrating!
I think I need to take a few more of those Top 50 classes. Iβll check out JJβs run too. I liked the Amy Winehouse stretch, but it seemed more like full body that post-run β although itβs never a bad thing to stretch more muscle groups.
Stay warm!
kookyrunner says
I agree about the AW stretch. I think I liked it since I took it after bootcamp so my whole body was in need of a stretch, lol.
Deborah Brooks says
Happy birthday to your mom hope she has a great day! Thanks for some ideas on other Peloton classes. I need to add Chelsea’s Gospel class in. Admittedly, 30 minutes of yoga sometimes sounds like a long time however, I used to go to 90 min classes in studio. Go figure! Thanks for the smiles from the memes. Have a great week
kookyrunner says
I agree – I much prefer the shorter yoga classes.
Jenny says
Hope your back is okay! It’s probably just protesting after that killer workout yesterday. Maybe some yoga would help? Or just rest. You deserve a day of rest after working out so hard all week.
Happy birthday to your mom!!! Have fun celebrating.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jenny! My back ended up loosening up later on in the day. I agree with you and think it was from the bootcamp class the day before. I need to take it a little lighter on the weights.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
OMG, that grocery store meme! Sadly true but made me smile. Yes, hunting down stuff in the stores is a crapshoot.
Hope your back is feeling better Kim & Happy Birthday to Mrs. Kooky! I hope she doesn’t mind being called that but I’m guessing she won’t. It was my sister’s birthday this week, too.
kookyrunner says
Lately if I am able to get 70% of the items on my list, I’m happy, lol. Also, I love that name for my mom. I will now refer to her as Mrs. Kooky π
Wendy says
That last meme made me LOL for real! I haven’t been laughing much about covid lately, but I think I’m going to steal that one and hang it up at work.
Happy birthday to your sweet mama!!!! Enjoy your drinks and celebrate. I’m sure both of you miss OTF right now.
kookyrunner says
Totally know what you mean – sometimes it’s hard to laugh at the Covid memes because of all the craziness going on with the new variant.
Kimberly Hatting says
Solid Peloton week, KimTwin!! I made a not to check out the Gospel Yoga Flow…I really need to bring more yoga into my life, and I’ve heard good things about that class. I totally missed seeing all these Amy Whinehouse classes, so thanks for sharing those as well. A big HaPpY BiRtHdAY to your sweet mom! Stay warm!
kookyrunner says
I think you will like the Gospel yoga flow. I missed it on Sunday but definitely want to catch the next one live if I can.
Darlene S Cardillo says
Happy birthday to your mom. This is a special day for many.
Kudos on all that peleton.
This week it was soooo cold. I did all my runs outdoors but I hesitated on each one.
Love those memes.
And yes. My cat may starve!! Where is everything/??
kookyrunner says
I’ve read a lot about the shortage of cat food – that’s so weird! I hope that gets resolved soon.
Jessie says
Oh that cute little omicron waiting outside! If only he wasn’t everywhere π
Sometimes that extra hour of sleep is better for the body that more classes! Sounds like you made the choice your body needed that day!
Hope you had a great day celebrating your mom! You two have such a lovely friendship.
kookyrunner says
Ugh – I agree! That meme made me laugh but then I was like “i wish he would go away” lol.
Michelle says
That eye chart meme is my reality – seriously I live for my cheater glasses LOL
As always I love to see your Peloton stacks – I’m looking forward to the Amy Winehouse classes. I really hope your back is feeling better!
A big happy birthday to your mom! I hope you all have fun celebrating π
kookyrunner says
The eye chart meme made me laugh because it’s definitely true, lol. I hope you like the Any Winehouse classes!
Cari says
The playlists really make or break the class. At the end of her Ali on the Run ep, Jess King described running like shaving your legs: you don’t want to, but you’re glad you did. I don’t quite identify with that but I giggled.
And yes, wholly team sleep some days, or at least not pop out of bed like a toaster.
Happy birthday to your mom!
kookyrunner says
Haha that’s such a great analogy for running.
Black Knight says
Happy birthday to your mom!
Here we are enjoying some sunny days (today 50Β°) but another wave of cold is coming. When it’s too cold making the workouts indoor is always a good solution.
Love the memes, my favorite is Omicron waiting out of the door!
kookyrunner says
That was my favorite meme too, lol.
Marcia says
Have so much fun celebrating your mom! I need to check out the WInehouse workouts. There are definitely some shortages at the grocery store and omg the prices are UP! Have a great week!
kookyrunner says
I’ve noticed the price going up for everything, event the postal service just increased their shipping rates for priority flat rate boxes.
Jenn says
I hope your mom had a wonderful birthday!
You had great workouts, even without OTF. We are finally having one open up by my house! I’m trying to see if it will fit in my schedule.
kookyrunner says
That’s so exciting about OTF! I hope that you are able to try it out once it opens.
