Happy Sunday. I hope that everyone had a great week! I can’t believe that February starts tomorrow. January felt like a long month but this past week went by quickly.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, January 25
Peloton Jess King Experience: New Year’s Eve Special Ride 12/31/20 – Jess K. (45 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 10/29/18 – Matt (5 minutes)
Peloton Power Walk 10/24/19 – Chase (45 minutes)
Peloton Go Canada! Yoga Flow 6/29/20 – Kristin (20 minutes)
I considered this an active recovery day (not sure if that’s right or not, lol). I heard that the NYE ride was fun so I decided to try it out. The energy was great but the ride had a lot of flashing lights (it was quite the production) and it started messing with my eyes after a while. I just put my head down and kept going with the ride. The power walk was great! It was basically one minute off one minute on and the playlist was awesome. I needed a day off running and this combo of classes was perfect. My hamstrings felt pretty tight most of the day so I did some stretching and a quick yoga class after I finished my work day.
Tuesday, January 26
Peloton Latin Celebration Ride 10/2/19 – Ally (20 minutes)
Peloton All For One Cool Down Ride 7/2/20 – Tunde (10 minutes)
Peloton Pride Core Strength 6/9/20 – Robin (10 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Lift 45 Upper Body (45 minutes)
Peloton Walk + Run 8/5/19 – Jess (45 minutes)
I split up my workouts due to my work schedule which ended up going pretty well. I was able to sneak in the cycle and core classes during a break in meetings and then did the walk + run class after my OTF class. I had to start work a little after 6am so I had a little more wiggle room with my breaks during the day.
The Lift 45 is a new class that OTF introduced earlier this month. There’s no treadmill or rowing – it’s all weights focused. This class was upper body focused but they also offer lower body and full body classes too. It felt weird to not get any splat points or hit the orange zone but I really did enjoy the class since I love strength training. I’m thinking of adding one of these classes to my weekly workouts when possible.
Wednesday, January 27
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (45 minutes)
Peloton Holiday Ride 12/4/19 – Denis (20 minutes)
Peloton All For One Cool Down Ride 7/3/20 – Leanne (10 minutes)
Peloton Chest & Back Strength 7/30/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Hike 1/26/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
The soreness in my upper body from the Lift 45 class was in full effect for my morning OTF class – it was a little painful, lol. I threw in a short lunchtime hike to get in the rest of my steps for the day.
Thursday, January 28
Peloton Pop Bootcamp 8/19/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Glutes & Legs Bootcamp 4/3/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Core Bootcamp 6/11/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Wicked Ride 1/21/21 – Leanne (30 minutes)
I was looking for something a little different and thought these 20 minutes bootcamps would be fun. I’ve never done any of the 20 minute bootcamps so it was nice to have one section on the tread and one section on the floor. Don’t get me wrong – I still love the #Saturday60 bootcamps, but sometimes I get sick of switching back and forth between the tread and the floor (we switch a total of 6 times in that class). The Wicked ride was okay. I’m not familiar with the musical at all so I didn’t know what to expect. I liked the songs but felt that some of them were a little slow for the ride.
Friday, January 29
Peloton Year of Yes Walk + Run 12/21/20 – Adrian (20 minutes)
Peloton Year of Yes Run 1/12/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Year of Yes Ride 1/4/21 – Tunde (20 minutes)
Peloton Year of Yes Ride 1/9/21 – Robin (20 minutes)
Post Malone Yoga Flow 1/29/21 – Chelsea (20 minutes)
I felt like motivation and inspiration so I decided to stack a few of the Year or Yes classes. All of the instructors have advice and words of wisdom based off their own experiences and I learn something from every class. This may be my favorite Peloton series.
Saturday, January 30
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (45 minutes)
Peloton Holiday Ride 12/13/19 – Tunde (20 minutes)
Peloton Low Impact Ride 5/2/20 – Leanne (10 minutes)
Peloton Bodyweight Strength 6/6/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
That OTF workout was extra spicy! At one point I looked up at the board and every person had their heart rate in the orange or red zone. That’s super rare since its very unusual to get your heart rate elevated enough to hit the orange or red zones on the floor. The workout had a little bit of everything – 30 to 60 second sprints on the treadmill, 30 second power rows on the rower and burpees and thrusters on the floor. I used the cycling classes once I got home to help flush out my legs since they felt a little tight.
Sunday, January 31
Orangetheory Fitness – Lift 45 Total Body (45 minutes)
Peloton Pride Intervals Run 6/13/18 – Rebecca (30 minutes)
Peloton Riopy Slow Flow Yoga 1/28/21 – Aditi (30 minutes)
Went to another Lift 45 class this morning. It was a total body class so we had exercises for the upper body, lower body and core. Wanted to get a little cardio in so I did an intervals class to going between power walking and running.
Total Weekly Mileage: 14.2 miles
Summary: 10 runs*, 3 bootcamps, 10 cycle, 3 yoga and 8 OTF/strength classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 213/220
Grade This Week β A
It was a week or indoor workouts for me since it was not only super cold outside, but windy as well. We’re supposed to get around a foot of snow starting tonight going into tomorrow but I hope that they are wrong on the estimates. I love Winter but I hate the snow because it’s always such a pain in the butt to shovel and it’s so messy!
My knee felt better this week. I did a few walks and walk/run workouts so I think that helped. It’s probably an overuse injury so I think as long as I scale back on the running a bit, it should continue to feel better.
In unrelated news, we somehow forgot to pack away this little guy with all of the Christmas items. All that stuff is packed away so we will just have a penguin cookie jar out all year long. Maybe I’ll move him to different parts of the house throughout the year, lol.
…and now for this week’s memes π
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Glad your knee is feeling better! We are supposed to get snow here too- so far its just about an inch or so. I hate shoveling and the mess that sticks around for days.
kookyrunner says
I’m glad that it seems like you’re not getting as much snow – I hope that’s what will happen here too!
Deborah Brooks says
once again you make me laugh-thanks! Another great week of strength and cardio for you. Way to crush those OTF classes. I still have not tried a Jess King experience maybe it’s time?! Thanks for linking and have a great week
kookyrunner says
Happy to provide some laugh with the memes π The JKE classes aren’t my favorite but I really appreciate all of the work that goes into them – it’s definitely a production!
Coco says
Those Lift 45 classes sound good, but that 0 splat points looks so sad, LOL. I hadnβt noticed the 20 min bootcamps! I might try one this week. LOL on the cookie monster MEME. I can relate ….
kookyrunner says
Right?! Every time I see the 0 splat points I’m so confused because I know I was working hard and burning calories. I will definitely have to get used to that. The 20 minute bootcamps were great since I was looking for some variety! I know that Jess has 6 of those classes on demand, but I’m sure the other instructors have them too!
Coco says
I couldnβt filter for 20 min bootcamps, but I kept scrolling and found them β thanks again for pointing them out.
kookyrunner says
No problem! Sorry that you couldn’t filter for them, but happy that you found them!
Jessie says
Ha, the late 1900’s…oh my! And kids born in 2000 are drinking age now…I feel old π
Glad the knee is feeling better! Some day when I get a Peloton, I will be asking you for a list of all the best classes!
kookyrunner says
Haha right?! It’s so crazy to me. I still think the 90’s were 20 years ago, lol.
Definitely feel free to ask me any Peloton questions when that day comes π
Marcia says
Great job getting in your workouts this week. Who cares if they were inside? Most of mine were too. That cookie jar is too cute. I think it was meant to be left out. OMG those memes! Glad your knee is feeling better!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Marcia! Yeah, I’m really embracing the indoor workouts this year. Maybe because we were indoors so much last year!
I’m looking forward to the cookie jar adventures this year lol.
Wendy says
Glad you were able to get in so many great workouts this week! We haven’t had the cold weather like you have had out east–no complaints about that! But I might complain about all the snow we’ve gotten this week….it’s always something, right? Have a great week and keep those memes coming!
kookyrunner says
Yeah we haven’t had the all the snow that the Midwest has had the past few weeks, but now it’s coming our way tonight, ugh!
Jenn says
Great memes this week! I feel the grocery store and cooking one deep down in my soul. Mr PugRunner does the shopping, and then when he goes to cook, he doesn’t have the things he needs. How does that happen?
I love all your ride sequences! So incredible! You are getting it done!
kookyrunner says
The cooking meme is 100% me! I love grocery shopping but when it comes to cooking I’m less motivated lol
Montana @ Pretty Lil Mudder says
I love your grocery meme! I’m currently sitting here wishing I had “fat me” snacks because “healthy me” did the shopping. And I really just want something to munch on at the moment. Also I totally don’t feel like meal prepping but I really need to. Gotta pack those lunches this week!
The Lift 45 sounds interesting. Unfortunately my doctor is almost positive that OTF was the major contributing factor to my stress fracture (and the thinks I was on my way to one in the other leg as well) so he recommends me not going back ever. He says it’s too much on my body. Luckily I have the OCR classes to fill the void though I’m really enjoying those!
kookyrunner says
I hate that OTF was the major contributing factor in your stress fracture – but I can see how that could happen, especially with their treadmill workouts. When we do any treadmill blocks with inclines I’m always super careful. I love that you have OCR workouts to fill the void and those workouts look like way more fun anyway!
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
Great work Kim! I like the idea of Mr. Penguin staying out all year and moving around the house.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! Haha, yeah it should be fun to move him around the house throughout the year.
Kimberly Hatting says
Another great week! Those Year of Yes workouts sound so awesome. We had two big dumpings of snow…the early week haul was the fluffy kind and yesterday’s/last night’s was the wet, heavy stuff. Max loves jumping through all of it, but his mom does not like cleaning up after him when he comes back inside. Just saying LOL
kookyrunner says
Awwe that’s so cute that Max loves the snow so much, but I can imagine the cleanup isn’t pretty lol.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
So many workouts, Kim! I was wondering what the OTF LIFT was, so thanks for explaining that.
That meme about the dog — so true, as Bandit is laying in his bed and staring at me (trying for more treats).
I hope you don’t get as much snow as forecast. I feel you on the shoveling! At least my shoulder got better in time for that this week & it didn’t bother it.
kookyrunner says
Awwe Bandit is so cute – dogs are truly the best π
Fingers crossed for under 6 inches of snow!
Jenny says
About the cookie monster meme… I think you need all the snacks to keep up with so many workouts!!! Sounds like you had a great week, and glad your knee is feeling better!
kookyrunner says
Haha yeah that may be why I always need to snack lol.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
You packed a lot into the week! I’m glad your knee is feeling better.
That grocery order vs. cooking meme made me laugh…I have definitely had those moments!
I am not looking forward to all of the snow headed this way. I will definitely be counting the shoveling as a workout LOL!
kookyrunner says
We’ve gotten so much snow today and it’s not stopping anytime soon – sigh π
Zenaida Arroyo says
Way to go on your workouts! You know I get tired just reading about them. π Whether the workouts are done indoor or outdoor, it doesn’t matter.
I do feel so old when I see 1900s.
kookyrunner says
Me too! I really can’t believe that the 1990s were 30 years ago lol
RenΓ©e @runlaugheatpie says
Fabulous week and I’m so glad the knee is feeling better!! And good that you explained the splat points because I saw the photo and thought “why does that say zero???”
I’d definitely keep Mr Penguin out. Love it!
I am so envious that you have a class you can go to – i have the feeling the government is going to extend our lockdown AGAIN after Feb 9th. Ugh. I want to go to the hairdresser and I want to go to the gym!!!
Fingers crossed the snow isn’t too bad…
kookyrunner says
Unfortunately we’ve had so much snow today and it’s still coming down π We will be well over a foot for sure – ugh!
It’s such a shame that gyms are still closed in some places because of the pandemic. I really thought that we would be at the tailend of Covid by now but it seems like things are getting worse in certain states and countries π
Liz Dexter says
So much strong work! Glad you’re feeling so well and strong, that’s brilliant and inspiring!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Liz!
