Happy Sunday. This week definitely tried to knock me out, but I’m standing…barely!
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, March 22
Peloton Bootcamp Warm Up 3/17/21 – Selena (5 minutes)
Peloton New Tracks Bootcamp 1/23/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Glutes and Legs Bootcamp 10/30/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Bodyweight Bootcamp 6/24/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 10/18/20 – Jess (10 minutes)
I haven’t stacked any 20 minute bootcamps together in a few weeks, and I didn’t feel like long efforts of running, so this was the perfect workout for me on a Monday!
Tuesday, March 23
Peloton Ms. Lauryn Hill Run 3/16/21 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Peloton Ms. Lauryn Hill Ride 3/17/21 – Tunde (30 minutes)
Peloton Ms. Lauryn Hill Bodyweight Strength 3/18/21 – Adrian (30 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 10/16/20 – Jess (15 minutes)
I really enjoyed all of the Lauryn Hill classes. The instructors did a great job at picking out songs for each playlist.
Wednesday, March 24
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (45 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 1/8/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Tabata Ride 3/3/20 – Leanne (20 minutes)
The OTF class was spicy because we had cluster sets with the weights on the floor and then a bunch of all out sprint runs on the treadmill and all out rows on the rower. Whoever designed the template for that workout must have been mad while doing so, lol.
Thursday, March 25
Peloton HIIT Run 4/2/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Extra Mile Run 4/24/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Pop Ride 5/5/19 – Olivia (30 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 2/20/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the HIIT run. I only speedwork I do is at OTF and I don’t enjoy it half of the time, but the timing of the intervals during this run was perfect for me. Followed up the run with a quick 10 minute run and a fun pop ride with Olivia.
Friday, March 26
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Peloton Intervals Run 4/16/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Country Ride 5/4/19 – Hannah (30 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 12/27/20 – Jess (10 minutes)
It was 80’s day at my OTF studio so of course I had to dress up to represent for the decade. The template for the class was really good too, focusing on heavier weights on the floor and short incline runs on the treadmill. I knew I would be at my desk on calls most of the day so I did a quick 20 minute run to get in a few more steps.
Saturday, March 27
Peloton HIIT Run 7/30/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
Peloton EDM/Electric Dance Ride 5/5/19 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Another HIIT run that I really enjoyed. I did a few intervals type classes this week to get the Peloton Interval Training badge but discovered that I do like these types of classes (more on the treadmill than the bike) so I’ll try to incorporate them more.
Sunday, March 28
Peloton Sweat Steady 5/4/19 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Peloton HIIT Cardio 8/15/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton HIIT Cardio 9/9/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 11/13/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
Peloton The Chicks Yoga Flow 3/23/21 – Kristin (30 minutes)
That 30 minute strength class was rough. I know I’ll be feeling the soreness from that for days. I’ll do the yoga class later on tonight.
Total Weekly Mileage: 14.7 miles
Summary: 7 runs*, 3 bootcamps, 6 cycle, 1 yoga and 11 OTF/strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 233/237
I runfess that I totally forgot to do a Runfessions post on Friday even though I wrote it down in my planner as a reminder. That should give a good indication of how crazy everything was this week, lol. It’s okay because now I’ll have more to runfess for April!
This week was really, really rough. We’re in the homestretch for the main project I’m doing for work so there’s lots of back and forth with edits, etc. I don’t even think I ate lunch any day last week. Things were finally calming down for me by the weekend, but then my workout on Saturday got cut short. My dad ended up needing to get emergency surgery so it was a very stressful and long day. I won’t go into too many specifics but thankfully the surgery was a success and he is in great spirits and doing well. He will be in the hospital for a few days but we can visit every afternoon. Unfortunately he is only allowed one visitor per day (due to COVID restrictions) but my mom will FaceTime my sister and I so that we can all have a group visit.
There was some good news this week. It took a lot of website refreshing but I was finally able to secure an appointment for my first COVID-19 vaccine on April 11th! Connecticut moved up the eligibility date for anyone 16 and older from April 6 to April 1. I got extremely lucky since available appointments pop up at random times throughout the day on the website and the appointments get selected super quick (like within seconds). I am thankful and looking forward to hopefully being fully vaccinated by early to mid May.
…and now for this week’s memes 🙂
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

That’s great that you were able to get a vaccine appointment! And I’m glad your dad’s surgery went well. I hope this coming week is a little calmer for you!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Lisa!
Darlene S Cardillo says
Hope your dad is doing well.
Glad to hear that you have an appt to get the vaccine.
Despite your crazy week, you got in so many workouts.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Darlene. Workouts help to keep me sane in the midst of all the craziness.
Coco says
Oh, I hope your dad’s recovery goes well. That’s stress enough without work stress too. Hope that is wrapped up too. That menu meme is so me! I like what I like and the few times I try something else I’m often disappointed.
A 30 min Jess Sims core class? Yikes!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Coco. I’ve talked to him a few times today and he sounds really good so I’m thankful for that.
Whenever I go out to eat I usually always end up getting a caesar salad with chicken or shrimp, lol. I’m so basic.
That core class was horrible! I don’t think I’ll ever do another 30 minute core class again.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
I’m so sorry about your Dad, but glad that he is doing well and your mom can actually go & visit! Congrats on also nabbing that vaccine appointment — I know how that feels (NY is still at 50+, btw — for now)..
I hope that work does simmer down soon. Sometimes I think I’m really busy, then I read y’alls posts. 🙂
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy! We’re so happy that he is alert and feeling good. Such a blessing.
I hope that New York will be able to open up the vaccine to more age groups soon, but so glad that you were able to get your first shot already.
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
Yay yay yay that you have your vax date on the calendar! It’s really a game changer. I hope that your dad is OK and that work takes a chill.
kookyrunner says
I somewhat feel a sigh of relief now that I have an appointment for my first vaccine shot scheduled!
Deborah Brooks says
Hope your dad is doing well! Great that you got a vaccine appointment. Moving along! You sure hit it hard this week w your workouts! Any days off for you? That perfection meme is so on point!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Deborah! Luckily he’s feeling good and on the road to recovery.
I enjoyed the memes a lot this week too, lol.
Wendy says
Oh gosh Kim, what a week! When it rains, it pours, doesn’t it? I hope your dad is ok. Thank goodness he already got the vaccine. And congrats on getting an appointment. Hang in there, friend!!
kookyrunner says
Right?! Just as I felt like I had a little downtime this weekend, that didn’t happen at all. But I’m thankful that my dad’s surgery went well and that he’s feeling good!
Jessie says
Wow, what a week Kim! I’m glad your dad’s surgery went okay. That sounds very stressful and scary! Fortunate that you live in a place with great health care options.
Minnesota opened up their vaccines to 16+ now too and I have my first appointment on Wednesday! Similar to you, its hard to get an appointment for sure…I have to drive a little bit, fortunately not too far.
I love the tweet about our time of reckoning…I’m not ready to go back to a time when we can’t use covid as an excuse to be a homebody 🙂
kookyrunner says
Yes – so blessed and lucky that he had a great surgeon and the nurses at the hospital are amazing as well!
Woo-hoo for your first appointment on Wednesday. I hope that everything goes well. Even after I’m vaccinated, I still don’t want to be around a bunch of people, lol.
Zenaida Arroyo says
Oh Kim, I hope you dad is OK. Keep us posted. Glad you got your appointment. It is just horrible how hard it is to get one. No lunch? Wow!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Zenaida! It was quite a crazy experience but I’m just so thankful that the surgery went well and that he is on the mend now.
Kimberly Hatting says
Those OTF workouts look killer! Sorry to hear about your father…glad the surgery went well for him. My week was nutzo, too. I almost went in MOnday afternoon, to get a jump start on all the catch-up, but decided to just enjoy that final day of vacay. I did “pay” for it, though come Tuesday LOL Hope this week brings a lot less stress for you <3
kookyrunner says
The “email hell” after coming back from vacation is always the worst, but I’m glad that you didn’t go in on Monday to enjoy your last day of vacation.
Marcia says
Sorry you had quite a week and I hope your dad recovers well. That’s great news about the vaccine. I still have no clue as to when I might be eligible to get it. IL is a cluster!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Marcia! I hate to hear that Illinois is STILL a cluster when it comes to the vaccine rollout. I was really hoping that they would have a better system in place by now, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Jenny says
Yay for the vaccine! I’m getting my first shot on Tuesday. It’s exciting (although I like the meme about the “great reckoning,” ha ha…)
Best wishes to your Dad !!! I hope he’s doing well.
kookyrunner says
Yay! I hope that everything goes well with your first vaccine shot tomorrow 🙂
Thanks for the well wishes for my dad – I really appreciate it!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
I love how your Orange Theory has theme days – so fun!
I forgot all about Runfessions, too. Oh well, like you said, all the more to runfess next month!
And yeah, I get the same thing at certain restaurants every time I eat there. 😂
kookyrunner says
My OTF studio knows how to have fun which I love!
Renée @runlaugheatpie says
sounds like you had a really great week with your fitness! i’m so sorry to hear about your dad needing surgery though!! I really hope he heals quickly. I can imagine that was really stressful (and probably remains so).
friday posts are tough for me sometimes, so I was actually glad it was runfessions. I really do need to plan a bit ahead though…
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Renee! I was finally able to get some sleep last night so thankfully I feel less tired/stressed. I talked to my dad a few times today and he is getting better/stronger each day which I’m so thankful for!
Michelle D. says
You really had a hell of a week! Sorry to hear about your dad’s surgery but glad he’s doing well and your mom can visit him.
Sounds like we’ve been on parallel courses on the work front! Hope things will start to calm down for you soon.
And yay for getting a vax appointment! Some light at the end of this crazy tunnel.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Michelle! We’re so happy that my dad was able to come home today – truly blessed!
Liz Dexter says
Oh I had Perfection and had forgotten all about it! Ha!
Great Peleton work. I have been enjoying some stretch classes, I think they are helping, just the short ones but easing myself into it.
Sorry to hear about your dad needing treatment and hope he’s well on the mend now.
And hooray vaccination! We suddenly got sent a call-up in the week and were done on Saturday – second one due in 12 weeks but so relieved we’ve got started. Also my husband’s parents got their second doses.
kookyrunner says
LOL, me too! ?I used to play that game a lot growing up.
I love the Peloton stretch classes, especially at night – it’s a nice way to wind down from the day.
My dad came home today – we’re so thankful!
Jenn says
Sending love to your dad and your family! that must have been so nervewracking!
Yay for your vaccine! We had our first appointment today. K preregistered last Thursday and we got the call on Friday for Monday. I wasn’t going to argue!
I hope things finally settle for you! It sounds like it’s been hectic as heck!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jenn! It was really scary but he came home today and we’re so thankful! So cool that you were able to get the first Covid shot this week!
