Happy Sunday – I hope that everyone had a great week! My energy this week was low so unfortunatley that made all my workouts feel super hard. Other than that, work was pretty good as I was able to complete a lot of things on my “To-Do” list. I’m sure I’ll have other things to add to that list soon, but for now it feels good to be caught up!
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, August 3
Peloton 2000s Bootcamp 2/12/20 – Jess (45 minutes)
Peloton 2010s Run 8/3/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Guns N’ Roses Yoga Flow 1/30/20 – Kristin (30 minutes)
#nevermissamonday! I usually stick to the 60 minute bootcamps, but opted for a 45 minute bootcamp since I knew I would be following it up with a run. Also, I’m trying to do yoga 2-3 times a week to help me some hip tightness I’ve felt recently. It’s not painful but it’s just ‘there’ if that makes any sense?
I’ve noticed some issues when I use the app for live classes – some buffering issues, etc. During the run my mileage kept jumping up and down and then with a minute left in the class, my app went nuts and reset all my numbers back to 0. Thankfully I had the mileage on my treadmill so I knew the distance but I was pretty annoyed after it happened, especially since it was a milestone class (50th run). I’ve heard from others that they had app issues as well so maybe it was a bug in the system?
Tuesday, August 4
Peloton Dolly Parton Run 6/25/20 – Selena (30 minutes)
Peloton XOXO, Cody Ride 2/5/20 – Cody (30 minutes)
Peloton XOXO, Cody Ride 2/12/20 – Cody (30 minutes)
These XOXO, Cody rides were everything! It’s part ride part therapy session with a Q&A mixed in. It was a good way to start my day since I was really tired and didn’t have a huge urge to workout.
Wednesday, August 5
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Peloton Pelothon 2020 Classical Run 8/5/20 – Becs (20 minutes)
Peloton Pelothon 2020 Strength 8/3/20 – Chase (10 minutes)
Peloton Max Richter Meditation 8/2/20 – Ross (10 minutes)
Back to OTF! It was a strength day so super heavy weights on the floor portion – just what I like! Unfortunately the studio didn’t have internet due to the storm the night before so we couldn’t connect our heart rate monitors for our workout. No problem – I just used the HIIT workout selection on my Apple watch to track the workout. I was just happy they were open and had air conditioning because so many people were without power.
I had a break in-between meetings so I decided to take two short Pelothon 2020 classes. By taking a Pelothon 2020 class, I completed the week 4 Pelothon 2020 challenge. It felt good to complete the challenge early on in the week. Around bedtime I was having a hard time falling asleep so I decided to take a 10 minute meditation class.
Thursday, August 6
Peloton Power Walk 2/28/19 – Matty (30 minutes)
Peloton Ellie Goulding Ride 8/5/20 – Olivia (30 minutes)
Peloton Ellie Goulding HIIT 8/5/20 – Olivia (20 minutes)
Peloton Max Richter Yoga Flow 8/3/20 – Aditi (20 minutes)
I decided to do a little bit of everything. I wanted a day off from running so this power walk was perfect. It allowed me to still get in a good amount of steps while keeping things more low impact. My left foot has been giving me some issues (not consistently but on and off). It’s more annoying than anything else but I’m wondering if I need to rest it more from running?
Friday, August 7
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (45 minutes)
Peloton Ellie Goulding Run 8/6/20 – Becs (30 minutes)
Loved the ESP workout because it was “a buffet of options” as my coach explained it, lol. It was a nice mix of endurance on the treadmill, strength on the floor with heavy weights and power on the rowers. I hopped on my treadmill once I was back home to do a 30 minute run.
Saturday, August 8
Peloton Two for One: Groove Ride 1/9/20 – Cody & Emma (30 minutes)
Peloton Full Body Bootcamp 8/8/20 – Jess (60 minutes)
Peloton The Greatest Showman Ride 11/16/18 – Robin (30 minutes)
I had originally planned to do a 60 minute ride before the bootcamp class but I ran some errands in the morning and ran out of time. It worked out for the best because I was able to take the Two for One: Groove Ride before the bootcamp class and it was a fun time! I take the bootcamp class, also known as the #Saturday60, live at 10am and it has quickly become my favorite class. I actually look forward to it every Saturday because it’s fun and hard, both as the same time.
Sunday, August 9
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Peloton Grateful Dead Yoga Flow 7/9/20 – Kristin (30 minutes)
I really enjoyed the format of today’s OTF class. It was a true 3G format so we spent around 13-15 minutes at each station – treadmills, rowers and floor. I did the floor portion last and I think I did something to my arm during the plank alternating low rows. It feels better now but still not 100%. I’m going to make tomorrow a cardio day so that I can rest my arm.
Total Weekly Mileage: 17.6 miles
Summary: 9 runs*, 5 cycle, 2 bootcamp, 3 yoga and 5 OTF/strength/HITT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 106/116
Grade This Week – A
This was the last week of Pelothon 2020! I finished up the challenge on Wednesday. It was really fun and I actually made more Peloton friends through being on the Legends of Fun team. I hope they do more challenges like this in the future.
I also have a goal to get through all the Artist Series classes by the end of August and I’m pretty sure that will happen! I’ve done over 100 of the classes and have completed all the running, strength and cycle classes – I just have the yoga classes remaining. Overall, it’s been really cool and has exposed me to some new artists and bands. On Friday Peloton announced that the next Artis Series classes will feature Prince and I’m super pumped for that!
Hurricane Isaias decided to roll through the tri-state area on Tuesday. We didn’t have too much damage, but a tree fell onto our deck and roof.
Our neighbors’ deck was cracked in half. Luckily the trees didn’t shatter glass or damage the roof, but the wind was pretty scary. This hurricane actually caused more damage in my area than Hurricane Sandy. Almost everyone I know in my city and surrounding cities lost power but we were lucky and never lost power throughout the whole ordeal. Most people STILL do not have power – it’s such a mess and our governor is opening up an investigation against Eversource (the electricity company for most of CT) because the response has been completely inadequate.
…and now for this week’s meme collection..
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

ONG those memes! It would have to be a bad candy that no one wants or a fruit cake! Guns and roses yoga that sounds fun. I just took Cody’s Britney ride today he is just hilarious I loved it. Way to crush your workouts this week
kookyrunner says
Hahaha fruit cake is a good one! I don’t understand why those things still exists – I don’t know one person that likes them, lol. Cody is my favorite – i know he’ll make me laugh even if I’m not in the mood to workout.
Coco says
The Guns & Roses yoga sounds …. interesting? I’ll definitely look for Selena’s Dolly Parton run — Peloton makes me WANT to run on the treadmill, LOL. And THREE OTF classes! Woohoo!
OMG, that tree would have freaked.me.out. I’m so glad it didn’t break a window – or your deck.
kookyrunner says
The GnR Yoga was interesting – I didn’t hate the music and it was nice to do yoga with more upbeat music. The Dolly Parton run was okay – I did learn a lot about Dolly that I didn’t know so that was really cool.
We got really lucky during the storm – it could have been so much worse!
Wendy says
Haha that barbed wire hula hoop! You crack me up!
Nice work on the Pelothon! You’ve been crushing your workouts during this whole adventure. Something good has to come out of it, right?
kookyrunner says
That meme was one of my favorites this week lol. Thanks! I’m hoping that I can say all the quarantine workouts have made me stronger? I guess time will tell!
Marcia says
Bwahahaha! I always love your memes! Great job slaying the Pelothon! I’m wondering what will become of all of the Halloween candy in the stores. Surely there can be no trick or treat??
kookyrunner says
Great point about tick or treat – I had not thought of that. Yeah that will be very different for sure. Maybe people can just leave candy outside their home in a bucket and hope that each kid just takes one piece lol.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
I hope you sort out your hips & arms! Luckily Isaias wasn’t too bad here. We never lost power & we lose power at the drop of a hat it seems (hence the generator).
Wow on that tree! So glad now real damage, but how scary that must have been.
Lately it seems all my Peloton classes has been the sleep meditations. But I’m thinking I’m going to run on the treadmill tomorrow. Haven’t tried a “real” Peloton treadmill run. Will be interesting to see if it helps!
kookyrunner says
I heard the tree when it hit both the deck and the roof – such a loud booming sound. It was scary but I was so thankful no one was hurt. We have a lot of kids in our development and they normally would have been outside playing around that time.
Let me know how you like the Peloton classes on your treadmill!
Jessie says
I think my husband would strongly disagree- he LOVES candy corn!
I remember seeing some of those masks from the flu pandemic…so scary! Now, I feel like a mask is a new fun accessory! I can’t stop buying more…even though I rarely leave the house, haha! But when I do, I’ll have the right one to match my outfit, 🙂
kookyrunner says
I think I know one other person that loves candy corn lol.
I’ve purchased way more masks that I thought I would, but since this is our lives for the foreseeable future, I have no problem having a little fun and ordering cute masks.
Laurie says
Your Peloton and OTF workouts are crazy! You do so much in a week! Too bad about the glitch in the system. If it isn’t recorded, it’s almost like it doesn’t count. At least you had your treadmill mileage so you didn’t “lose” it completely.
And yes, 2020 has been just like candy corn. 🙂
kookyrunner says
Thanks Laurie! I think my workouts finally caught up to me as I slept in this morning to get some extra rest – I was so tired!
Yes, I was thankful for the treadmill mileage so that I knew exactly how far I had run even though the app went nuts, lol.
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
Great job with the Pelothon challenge! You got in a lot of great workouts this week. As always I love the memes you shared!
So scary that a tree fell so close to your house! Glad you are ok! I hope your area gets their power back soon.
kookyrunner says
I think most of the residents in my city finally got power back last night so I was happy to hear that. Hopefully we don’t have any more crazy storms like that!
Chaitali says
Yikes, that’s pretty scary about the falling tree! Glad it didn’t cause too much damage. I’ve never heard of those XOXO classes before. That sounds interesting. And I’m so excited about the Prince series!
kookyrunner says
The XOXO classes are fun! Definitely give them a try if you want something different.
Jenn says
Oh, man. Dissing candy corn LOL!
Congratulations on earning your badge for the series! You will totally score the artist’s badge as well.
I’m so sorry that storm hit so hard. It used to be the southeast part of the country or nothing and now they just seem to want to roll up your way. Ugh.
Hope you get some of that energy back this week. I think it was the moon. I struggled last week as well.
kookyrunner says
LOL, I know that candy corn is a very polarizing candy!
Hmm, that’s interesting about the moon last week. Something just felt off and I didn’t know what it was.
Darlene S Cardillo says
Yup. agree about candy corn.
I look forward each week for your memes!
Kudos to you and you make me want to get a peleton!!!
We got rain and lots of it..that’s all.
kookyrunner says
I’m glad that you only got rain up your way and not all the crazy wind, it was kinda scary!
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
Your memes are always on point! I especially love the hula hoop LOL
Looks like another great week for you – I’m really curious about Guns N Roses yoga?!
kookyrunner says
The hula hoop meme was so spot on! The GnR yoga was actually pretty cool!
Zenaida Arroyo says
If it weren’t for you helping me out with the challenges, I would not not completed them. Peloton made it so confusing!
Great job on your workouts this week!
I am also enjoying the Artist Series though I don’t think I will take all of the classes. Some of the artists don’t interest me at all. I am excited about Prince! I feel like I need to wear purple for one of those classes.
kookyrunner says
Ugh – they really did! I hope that they learn from this and make the best challenge easier to understand.
I’m super excited for the Prince classes. I can’t take any of them live, but will plan to take them on demand this week.
San says
Nice work, Kim. You put some solid time in this week and earned all the badges… 🙂
And the memes… hahahaha.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much San!
Liz Dexter says
Love the hula hoop meme! What a strong week for you. I’m STILL mulling over getting the Peleton app, will I be able to do enough of it with a recumbent bike and cross trainer – actually will we ever sort out the room they’re in so I can use them???
kookyrunner says
The hula hoop meme was my favorite by far, lol.
