Merry day before Christmas Eve (lol)! Hopefully everyone has finished their shopping – if not, I’ll send you positive vibes as you brave the crowds! It was another busy week at work but I was still able to get in some quality workouts.
Monday, December 10
Kickboxing (45 minutes).
This class is always a challenge but the instructor had us do a lot of extra leg moves and I was feeling it right after class AND the next day!

This meme cracks me up (I love The Hangover movies)
Tuesday, December 11
No workout. I had an after work function to attend.
Wednesday, December 12
Boot Camp (60 minutes).
I loved the circuits that the instructor set up for class this week!
Thursday, December 13
Spinning (45 minutes).
I took two Peloton spinning classes with Cody (a 30 minute and 15 minute). All of the Peloton instructors are great at giving motivational quotes during a ride.

This quote spoke to me so much!
Friday, December 14
Rest Day.
Saturday, December 15
New Canaan Santa Run 5K
This was a fun local race. My mom and I ran the race back in 2015. With less than 200 runners, it’s very much a no frills race but we did get a shirt and bottle of water at the finish. I’m okay with that as 100% of the proceeds from the race go to support a local charity. There’s nothing better than a race organization that gives back, especially during this time of year. I was surprised that this actually ended up being a trail race, lol. I was not expecting that but it wasn’t too bad. I’m still not totally sold on trails but I would try it again.
Sunday, December 16
Spinning (60 minutes).
Nothing better than ending the week with an hour long spinning class.
Total Weekly Mileage: 3.1 miles
Summary: 1 run, 3 spinning classes, 1 kickboxing class and 1 boot camp class.
Grade This Week β A
This was supposed to be a low-key week and it was. Between a busy work week and just the overall holiday craziness, I was happy to get in a good amount of workouts. Last week I decided to take the week off from running (besides the 5K yesterday) and it was the right decision. I went to my ART doctor on Thursday and it looks like I have hip bursitis in both hips. I had a feeling that was probably the issue. Both hips felt a little better this week, probably due to the lack of running, but they did start to ache towards the end of the race. I’ll probably focus on non-running workouts for next week as well. Luckily I’m not training for anything right now so I have flexibility when it comes to my workouts.
Also I have some exciting news to share – I will be a BibRave Pro in 2019! I’m really excited to join this network of really awesome and enthusiastic runners. Through BibRave I’ll have the opportunity to test out products and run in selected races, so you’ll be hearing more about them on my blog in upcoming posts π

WooHoo! π
How was your week? What was the weather like on the “official” first day of Winter?
Iβm linking up with Holly and Wendy for the Weekly Wrap.
In Case You Missed It
2018: My Year of Running
Iβm so glad that you joined Bub Rave! Iβve only been part of it for a few months now but itβs been a great experience so far. Meeey Christmas to you and your family
That’s awesome! I may pick your brain for any BibRave questions that I have π
I hope that you are enjoying your time in Aruba! π
Congrats on Bib Rave! I have thought of applying, but “thought” about it too long and missed the deadline LOL Totally love the Bah Run Bug shirt! Merriest of Christmas wishes to you and your family!!!!
Thanks Kim! You would be perfect for BibRave. I’ll send you a message next time applications open up π
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Congrats on BibRave! I had a great chat with them last year about it, but I don’t instagram nearly enough. One day – maybe. Love your shirt and wholly agree re: have to vs. craving
Thanks Cari! It seems like an awesome program and I’m excited to get started with them in 2019!
Oh sorry about your hips! Hopefully, some time off from running will do the trick. And congrats on Bib Rave!
Merry Christmas Kim!
Thanks Michelle! I’m hoping some time off, combined with some strengthening exercises, will help with the hip issues.
Wishing you a safe and happy Christmas! Enjoy the time with your family π
Congrats on being chosen for Bibrave Pro! Nice.
I’m sorry about the bursitis. My WW leader actually has that, so far I don’t knock on wood (or at least if I do, I don’t know about it). What did they say to do for it?
Have a wonderful holiday, Kim!
Thanks Judy! Keeping my mileage low and doing more cross training should help. I also need to work on strengthening my glutes too.
Wishing you a happy holiday!
Congrats on the news about being a bib rave pro! Sounds like a great opportunity. Sorry about the hip bursitis though π I hope it keeps getting better with a break from running. I love that shirt you wore to the Christmas race π
Thanks so much! I’m really looking forward to a great year with the BibRave Pro team π
Congrats on BibRave. I always forget apply for that.
Sorry about the hip. Hope it heals quickly.
Love that shirt and it is so cool to race with your mom.
Happy Holidays.
Thanks so much Darlene. Happy Holidays! π
A good week, all things considered, and I love your race shirt and your run with your mom – great stuff. Hope those hips get sorted soon. I’m looking for a new physio (wah!) to get my glute sorted once and for all. Happy Christmas!
Thanks so much Liz! I love running in December because I get to wear all my cheezt holiday shirts, lol
That shirt is everything! Hahaha I love it! Congrats on BibRave, I’e heard it’s a lot of fun. Enjoy the holidays!
Thanks so much Becca! Yes, I think BibRave will be a lot of fun! π
Happy Holidays!
Bummer on the bursitis, but I’m glad you can work(out) around it. π Congrats on Bib Rave Pro — it will be a great fit for you with all the races you do! Merry Christmas!
Congratulations on BibRavePro! That’s awesome!
And for a lowkey week, you sure got a lot done! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Thank Jenn! I’m excited for to be a BibRave PRO next year.
great pre-holiday week! I mean don’t we all just do our best to get a few workouts in to balance out the food and the crazy?
with the bursitis, can you get a cortisone shot(s)? one of the (many) things going on in my foot is what they think is bursitis in the space between the toes. my last shot actually has kept the pain away all this time. the shots before my last never lasted more than a few weeks. but then again I’m also running a wee bit less and I changed shoes (again) and am currently NOT using my insoles. So maybe it’s the shot, maybe it’s a combination but could also be something for you?
congrats on becoming a bib-rave pro!
hope you had a lovely Christmas!
For the bursitis, I’m not sure if I want to do a cortisone shot just yet. I can walk and do other activities okay so I’m just hoping with some rest and some additional glute exercises, it will feel fine, fingers crossed! I also got a new pair of sneakers for Christmas so hopefully that will help too.
Hope you had a good Christmas and wishing you a very happy New Year!
Love your Bah Run Bug top and whole outfit actually!! PS: In Norway, they call the day before Christmas Eve, “Little Christmas Eve” π
Awwe I love Little Christmas Eve! That’s such a cute name.
