Happy Sunday! As usual, it feels like this weekend went by entirely too quickly š Why do the weekend seem so long and then I blink and the weekend is over?!
This was quite a week! I felt like I got in some great quality workouts but I was a bit clumsy this week as well. Overall I think I have pretty good coordination but it seems like this was just a week of errors. More on that below..
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, February 18
4 miles + Core Exercises (30 mins).
I was happy to have the day off work for President’s Day. I was able to get my workout done nice and early!
Tuesday, February 19
Rest Day.
No particular reason for this unexpected rest day, I just didn’t really feel like working out after getting off work and running errands. Also I hit my knee pretty hard on the edge of bed that morning and it was still kind of sore by the end of the day. Let this be a reminder to always turn the light on in your room, especially if it’s the middle of the night and you’re just trying to get to your door to go downstairs to use the bathroom, LOL.
Wednesday, February 20
Spinning (45 mins) + Strength Training – Arms and Bodyweight (20 mins).
Bad weather meant no boot camp class so I got in another workout at home.
Thursday, February 21
5 mile run + Strength Training – Glutes and Legs (20 mins)
This run felt pretty good and I loved adding in some strength training afterwards.
Later on that evening I stubbed my toe running up the stairs. Thankfully it just stung for a few minutes and then went away.
Friday, February 22
Rest Day. Also it’s currently Restaurant Week in Stamford so I went to a steakhouse with my family for dinner after work. Although it was delicious, it was quite a heavy meal, especially with a run the next morning.
Saturday, February 23
5 mile run.
This run was okay, despite feeling a little sluggish from the dinner the night before. One highlight was that a new woman joined our weekend run group! All was going well until I took a nice tumble shortly after mile 4. It was 100% my fault as I was running but also looking over my shoulder to point something out to one of the runners. I tripped over a tree branch. My right hip took the brunt of the fall (which hurt pretty badly). I took some Motrin when I got home and luckily it wasn’t hurting me at all today.
This was also my first run with my new Turtle Gloves (thanks BibRave)! Thery were warm and soft and I love the option to convert the gloves from mittens to fingerless gloves. If you’d like to try out these gloves, you can save 15% by using promo code TurtleBibRave.
Sunday, February 24
Spinning (30 mins) + Strength Training – Full Body/Chest and Back (30 mins)
I had a great combo workout this morning. I hit a new PR for Peloton spinning and I did a lot of work for my upper body.
How cute is this hat?! I got it from Old Navy.
Total Weekly Mileage: 15 miles
Summary: 3 runs, 2 spinning classes and 4 strength training workouts
Grade This Week ā A-
So as you can see, I was a bit of a klutz this week! I’m normally way more coordinated so I don’t know what was wrong with me this week. I usually fall at least once a year while running so hopefully this will be my only fall for 2019. I was really shocked that I don’t have a bruise or any pain – I was REALLY lucky as it could have been a lot worse.
I’m really enjoying adding in more strength workouts, especially after my runs. This is a great way to make sure that I’m reaching my goal of getting in more strength training during the week. The Peloton workouts are great for this because they range from 10-60 minutes so I can pick a class (or classes) based on how much time I have.
That’s it for this week!
Did you have a good week? Have you ever felt like a klutz?
Iām linking up with Holly and Wendy for the Weekly Wrap.

I love that hat! You always find the cutest stuff at old navy. I hate it when I hurt myself doing everyday things. Somehow, I bumped my hip bone on my dresser the other day big bruise. Have a great week!
kookyrunner says
Thanks! Oh no, sorry that you bruised your hip on the dresser. Maybe we both need to wrap ourselves in bubble wrap lol
Darlene says
I am very klutzy too.
Hope this week is injury free.
Great hat.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Darlene!
Kimberly Hatting says
Okay, Kim, the klutz thing is SOOO my lifestyle. Is that another #KimTwin thing we have going? (doubtful, since you said you’re normally not that klutzy, maybe it’s all mine). I don’t know…that smile in the planking pic looks pretty convincing…I think you like planks more than you’ll admit š Have a safe week!
kookyrunner says
LOL I still don’t like planks but I feel like I just need to keep doing them š
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Oh no, I’m sorry about all the falls! I’m glad that none of them seemed serious. I’m constantly banging parts of my legs on my bed. It’s a platform bed with some sharp corners. And I bruise easily!
I have only fallen a couple of times while running. I’ve been lucky! But one time I was definitely bruised up pretty good & had lots of road rash — it was just a couple of weeks before a half but thankfully by then I felt ok.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy! I am glad that none of my clumsiness resulted in any serious injuries.
Wendy says
Geez Kim, do I need to send you some bubble wrap? I’m pretty clumsy too but my excuse is that I’m not always very mindful as I’m rushing around. Hopefully, you’ll bounce back (pun intended) and have a much less eventful week!
kookyrunner says
Haha yes! Please send over an entire old of bubble wrap.
Marcia says
Sounds like you took some lumps this week. Thank heavens none of them was serious. OMG that hat is the cutest! I too am wanting a third weekend day. Two days is nowhere near enough.
kookyrunner says
LOL, i definitely took some lumps this week. I’m just happy I didn’t injure myself too seriously.
Coco says
Oh. I’m glad your klutziness didn’t cause any lasting injuries. I do love that Gym Hair … hat! You have the best gear!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Coco! I stumbled upon the hat on their website and knew that I had to have it š
Jennifer @ Fit Nana says
Oh gosh, I am a total klutz and falling/tripping is one of my biggest fears! I’m just so afraid I’ll break something. I bump into stuff all that time and am forever asking, “how the heck did I get that bruise?” I’m a mess. I’m glad you didn’t suffer anything major!!
I don’t even work a full time job (should start a part time one here soon, in addition to coaching) but I’m with you on the weekends.
kookyrunner says
LOL, glad to hear that I’m not the only one!
Becca | Rabbit Food Runner says
Countless times I’ve bumped into things in the middle of the night as Ive gotten up for the bathroom- the other night I tripped over the toilet and landed in the shower. That woke me up for sure! I hope this week is less clumsy š
kookyrunner says
OMG! I am glad that the latest fall didn’t hurt/injure you because that sounds pretty major, lol.
Hopefully we will both be more careful in the future!
Jessie says
oh my gosh, I LOVE your top from your Saturday run! Too cute.
Sorry to hear about your fall though, I’m glad you’re okay! BE CAREFUL KIM!
kookyrunner says
Yes! I’m definitely going to pay more attention when running – I need to be more careful!
Cari says
Love the gym hair hat. My finish fest pic with the race’s sandcastle is complete “hat hair don’t care” and I kind of love it.
You to the bed edge is me to my desk drawer. It seriously hurt. Hope yours is on the mend.
kookyrunner says
I thought the hat was so cool – I knew I had to get it!
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
Ouch! I’m glad you didn’t do any serious damage! I feel like I’ve been bumping into things lately – rushing around and clearly not paying attention!
That Old Navy hat is so cute!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Michelle – I was lucky this week, thank goodness, but it’s a reminder to me to pay attention!
Hannah says
I feel like I have a knack for bumping into furniture in the most painful way possible! And totally understand taking a rest day after slamming your knee into the bed – I figure, it’s probably just a bruise, but still no reason to risk making it worse.
kookyrunner says
Once I stubbed my toe on the edge of my bed. I swear that was one of the most painful experiences ever!
De Bolton says
I adore that hat and need it in my life! Restaurant week is one of my favorites around here and time with the family is always welcomed after a long day of work. Although, you had an “off” week you got a lot done! And your race schedule. WOW! Hope this week is better!
kookyrunner says
I love restaurant week! We usually have it once in the Winter and once in the summmer and I try to hit up as many places as possible.
RenƩe says
ah Kim!! I just want to hug you! Gently of course, so as not to damage anything else!!!
as you know I am the Queen of the Klutz Kingdom. Remember in October when i bruised my ribs by tripping over a small stone??? haha! (and yeah, I still feel it on a good stretch). maybe the moon knocked your balance out of alignment last week??
kookyrunner says
LoL yes! I need a hug, preferably with bubblewrap haha.
Jenn says
Love the hat. Love the workouts. Love it all.
It was a good week on this end, too. Got in all my miles, although my cross training is a big fat zero right now. I need to make that happen.
kookyrunner says
It’s always so hard to fit everything in!
Jenny Albertson says
There was one time when I was in college that I fell down the stairs walking out to my car. HAHA! I steadied myself and started down the second flight of stairs and fell again. LOL! It was so dang funny. I didn’t get hurt or anything but people around me had no idea if they should check if I was ok or if they should pretend not to look. Now anytime I need a good laugh at myself I think about that. I wish I could have watched it from another point of view because it really was hilarious.
kookyrunner says
Oh man that sounds bad! Thank goodness you weren’t seriously injured in that fall.
Sandra D Laflamme says
Those Turtle gloves look so warm and cozy! So very sorry about your tumble! I hope your hip is feeling better soon!
kookyrunner says
They were really cozy – I can’t wait to wear them on my next outdoor run!
Anna @ Piper's Run says
I admire how dedicated you are to working out! Always love seeing your posts on IG and get a boost of motivation from your post! Great job!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Anna – you’re so sweet!
angela @ happy fit mama says
I’m just as talented as you are with causing harm to yourself. I have a way of tripping over non-existent cracks in the road. I love your top from your Saturday run. Super cute!
kookyrunner says
Oh boy, glad to know I’m not alone! I am really going to start paying more attention so that I don’t really hurt myself!
Liz Dexter says
Those gloves are cute!! And I love the plank picture – I can never manage to get myself into the shot however hard I try, doing workout pics! Hope you’re OK after your fall, that sounds nasty.
kookyrunner says
The trick to my plank photo was recording myself doing the plank and then taking a screenshot from the video!
The Accidental Marathoner says
OMG Kim, do we have to wrap you in bubble wrap??? I’m glad you weren’t badly hurt!
kookyrunner says
LOL yes I was starting to think I needed bubble wrap hahaha
Shathiso says
What a SOLID week of runs and strength workouts! That’s a well deserved A for sure and I absolutely love that thumbs-up plank!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Shathiso!
Angela Cardamone @marathonsandmotivation.com says
I’m glad you are ok after the falls! I have been sticking to the treadmill a lot due to all the ice here. I am definitely a klutz and have had a number of falls.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I’m hoping that I don’t fall or bump into anything this week, lol
Chaitali says
Boo to the fall, it sounds painful! I hope it’s better this week š And it sounds like you’ve been doing a great job adding in strength training after your runs. I keep meaning to try that.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! So far I’m doing much better at staying upright this week, lol
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
OMG, I love that hat!
You “might” be a klutz, but I AM a klutz! I fell on Friday hitting my heads on our pantry shelves leaving quite the lump and bruise. I’ll go into more details in Friday’s Coffee Talk. Interestingly, my fall also had to do with failing to turn a light on pre-dawn when I was heading downstairs to workout.
I’m glad your hip is feeling okay after your fall! Let’s both be a little more careful! LOL
kookyrunner says
Oh no! That sounds scary and painful but I am glad that you are okay.
