Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week. Basically there’s just 2 weeks to go until Christmas – can you believe it?! I’m about 95% done with my holiday shopping, I just need to get a few more things for my dad. I’ve only had to go to the stores once or twice to get gifts so I’m super happy about that. I absolutely hate all the crowds during this time of year!
This week was busy, but still pretty good. Although I had more rest days that I would have liked, I think it was worth it in the long run. I also know I should appreciate the extra rest days now since I’ll only have one rest day a week once I start training again. Here’s how my workouts went this week!
Monday 12/4
Unexpected rest day. I had every intention of going to kickboxing class but I got an early visit from my “friend” that afternoon. All I wanted to do after work was lay on my heating pad, and that’s exactly what I did.
Tuesday 12/5
4 Mile run.
I wanted to do 5 but my knee was very cranky š
Wednesday 12/6
Boot Camp (60 minutes)
We did different circuits for the first half of the class and then focused on arms and core for the second half. It was great!
Thursday 12/7 and Friday 12/8
More rest days. Thursday night was my company holiday party which was a blast. Sure, I could have gotten up super early to workout before work, but to be honest, I just didn’t feel like it. I got home around 9pm so working out that night didn’t happen either.

It was a fun party!
Friday I took the day off work and my sister and I did some holiday shopping in the morning/afternoon, and then I went to another holiday party that night. Tis the season for fun, food and drinks! Also on Friday evening I found out that I’ll be back on the RockNBlog team for a second year..I’m super excited!
Saturday 12/9
4 mile run.
Happy to get in a few miles before the snow š

A few hours after my run..
My mom, sister and I also volunteered at a gift wrapping party on Saturday morning. We’ve done this the past few years and really enjoy it. For many children, these wrapped gifts will be the only presents they receive for Christmas so we try to wrap them really well and make them look super pretty!

You have to be festive when wrapping gifts, right?!
I also received this month’s Stridebox. They never disappoint!
Sunday 12/10
7 mile run.
Because I didn’t get a long run in yesterday, I wanted to get it in today. Also my normal spinning class was cancelled so I had the extra time to run long.
Total Weekly Mileage: 15 miles
This week was busy, but also a lot of fun. Holiday parties are happening a lot around this time of the month and I’m never one to say no to a good party, especially with delicious food!
Also earlier this week I got a Fitbit! I’ve been using it for the past few days and I love it! I had to send back my previous Garmin fitness tracker that I purchased in September because it wasn’t tracking certain things directly. So far I like the Fitbit better because I can connect with more friends for different challenges and it seems to be more accurate. It also sends words of encouragement and badges after you hit certain goals.
I usually don’t run on both Saturday and Sunday so that was a little different for me this weekend. I probably won’t do it often but it felt totally fine. I almost have 20 miles on my new Sauconys and so far so good. My feet and calf muscles were a little sore after today’s run so I’ll keep an eye on that – I hope it’s not the sneakers. I’ll probably do a few more long runs in the sneakers before making a final decision.
I’m looking forward to taking a few more classes next week (kickboxing and spinning) and continuing to build on my runs throughout the week as well.
How was your week? Did your part of the country get snow?
Iām linking up with Holly and Tricia for their Weekly Wrap.

you look really pretty in red! Congrats on the Rocknblog gig again. Let me know if you come to DC for the race. I had an extra race day too even though I did not want to-a good decision though. You are right-we should appreciate the rest days
Awwe thanks so much! I do like red and it’s a great color for a holiday party š
I will definitely let you know if I come back to DC for a race next year.
Great job getting in your run before the snow. It did not snow here but was pretty cold.I used to really like my fit bit because of the badges and connecting with friends but since have gotten a Garmin 235 and find it weird wearing both so I gave it to my mom and she has really been liking it.
Thanks Lacey! The Fitbit is great and I like that it really keeps me motivated
Wow, you had lots going on this week! You still got in some great workouts. We got a few inches of snow but it didnt start sticking to the streets util the evening. Im hoping it doesn’t get icy tonight but I think it should be ok.
The snow started here around 9am on Saturday but it didn’t start sticking to the ground until around noon. It wasn’t too bad and some of it melted today so that’s good!
Busy busy!! Glad the new shoes are working well for you! My new Brooks feel pretty good also (and are a similar color to your’s LOL). Oddly, there is not much snow in Iowa…yet. #staytuned
We are both fans of bright colors so I’m not surprised that we have similar colors for sneakers lol.
I’m closing my ears and saying “la la la la” so I don’t have to hear there are only two weeks before Christmas. š Congrats for being selected for the Rock’n’Blog team! We did get SNOW this week and that is highly unusual for us. Thanks for linking!
LoL. For some reason I thought it was 3 weeks until Christmas until I checked my calendar before I started writing the blog, haha.
I was so surprised that you got snow this weekend! So many places that normally don’t get snow got it over the weekend, it’s crazy!
I’m so impressed that you are 95% done with your shopping! I finally made a dent in it today. But there’s still so much to do! Wah!!
Love the red on you. That is definitely your color!
You have have 2 weeks for Christmas shopping so itās not that bad, lol. At least itās not Christmas Eve!
Thanks so much Wendy! I’m an Aries so I love red but I don’t wear it that often. I love that it’s an awesome holiday color!
Congrats on being selected for team rockin blog again!! That’s really fun. Do you know what races you will participate in? I’m so jelly that you basically have your Christmas shopping done….I haven’t started yet lol.
Great job keeping up with your workouts!
Thanks Sara! So far I’m signed u for Philly but I hope I can schedule a few more. I really like their races because it allows me to see so many of my social media friends in person!
You have have 2 weeks for Christmas shopping so it’s not that bad, lol. At least it’s not Christmas Eve!
That snow looks so pretty! We got just enough to look festive without making driving dangerous. I love that “run” shirt! I am only about 10% done with my shopping … :-O
I love the look of snow when it’s coming down – it’s so pretty! i hope that we get some snow on Christmas!
I’m mostly done shopping as well, although that usually gives me a false sense of calm and I procrastinate the rest. ha! Seems like everybody got some snow!
LOL same here! I want to try to finish everything up by the end of this week. I’m taking off work on Friday afternoon so I will probably finish then!
Congratulations on Rock and Blog! Maybe Iāll get a chance to meet you this year at one of the races. I always loved the challenge part of Fitbit, but when my second Charge died (or rather, fell apart) in little more than a year, I gave up. Iām sticking with my Garmin stats now since I wear it all the time anyway.
Thanks Debbie! I hope that we get to meet up at a race this year!
I’m sorry to hear that about your Fitbit š I hope that mine lasts longer!
Congrats on the Rock n Blog! I thought about it fleetingly, but since I’m sticking with 10k’s, they don’t have that many, and of course I need to see which ones work with my schedule.
Thanks so much! I hope that you have fun planning your 2018 schedule!
Sounds like a fun and festive week! Congrats on the Rock n Blog š It sounds like a lot of fun.
Thanks so much! Yes, it was a very fun-filled weekend!
Congrats on the ambassadorship! Surprisingly, TX did get snow. A whole 4 inches, but none on the roads thank goodness because we don’t have salt down here and I can only imagine the nightmare of driving in it.
Thanks Sonia! I am shocked that Texas got that much snow!!
Congrats on being a Rock n Blogger again! Woohoo! I loved following your IG stories over the weekend. You guys got so much snow!
Thanks Rachel! I always wonder if anyone even watches my IG stories, so I’m glad that you enjoyed them! LoL
OK so can you send some of your shopping mojo my way cause I’m way behind on my gift buying! LOL! Good for you for being almost done!
Congrats on Rock’n’Blog! I’m in too so I hope we can catch up in 2018!
LoL, I will send you some shopping mojo!
So happy that you’re back for RockNBlog this year and I hope that we can meet up at a race!
I hope the shoes work for you! Switching will make you a little sore though, I think everything works your legs just a little different.
Congrats on RNR ambassador!
I got snow too, and it was the same lovely shade of grey lol I actually don’t like weekend snow lol I want it during the week when I am at work…I want to run around on the weekends but it was kind of hazardous with slippery roads.
Haha. I love your Christmas sweater! Stay warm and safe with all of that snow!
Thanks Andrea! I love this time of year because I can be super festive!
I can’t believe the year is almost over! Great job during a busy week. No snow where I live but it’s been really cold in the mornings, in the 20s. Congrats on another year for Rocknblog!
I know – it’s crazy how fast this year went, but I’m ready for it to be over!
Yay for Rock ‘n’ Blog! What Tour Stops are you looking at this year? I am hoping to mix it up a little this time!
Congrats to you to for RockNBlog! I’m already signed up for Philly and I’m strongly considering New Orleans and Chicago.
What a great and fun week Kim! I loved this month’s StrideBox as well and it came just in time as the chocolate waffle got me through a tough spot on my Saturday long run!
Thanks so much Teresa! I can’t wait to try out the waffles that we received in StrideBox!
Congrats on Rock ‘n Blog! I think you’ve already earned that marathon badge – ha! We got snow too, it only lasted a couple of hours but it was pretty to look.
Thanks so much Vicki! LoL, yeah I had to laugh at Fitbit when it gave me that badge.
Nice work on your week of workouts! And yes, it’s crazy to me how close Christmas is- but at least it feels like it this year with the cold and snow!
Thanks so much Laura!
