Happy Wednesday! We’re half-way through the week – hooray!
Last week I discussed my 2016 Goals and today I want to share my 2016 Racing Calendar. Of course I’m sure I’ll add in a few more races as the year goes along, but these are races I am planning on completing in 2016!
March

This will be my first half marathon of the year and I really cannot express how excited I am to run this race. I’ve heard nothing but great things about it!
April
Source |
This will be my birthday weekend race! My birthday is on 4/1 so I’ll just be celebrating all weekend long with running, friends and family.
May

Hell to the YES! This race is without a doubt the best half marathon I have ever done. The course and the crowd energy is just insane and you finish on the Coney Island Boardwalk. There is nothing better than that!
June

I FINALLY get to hang out with some of the most awesome runners on the planet. Seriously, I have already started a countdown to this epic weekend of racing, friends and fun. I cannot wait!!
6/19: Queens 10K – Queens, NY
Source |
The weather for this race was absolutely horrible last year, so I’m hoping for way less humidity this time. It’s a decent course, very flat and entirely in Flushing Meadows Park, so there is definite PR potential. I’d love to come in under 60 minutes.

I’m coming back to this race for the third time. When I first ran this half marathon in 2014, it completely broke my spirit and made me hate the distance. Then I went back last year and killed it with a 30 minute course PR. This year I want to get a PR on the course. Anything is possible!
July

I can’t wait to do this race again this year. Last year the weather was horrible but it was such a fun weekend. I’m most looking forward to meeting a few blogger friends in person!
August
8/14: TCS New York City Marathon Long Training Run #2 (8/14) – New York, NY
Source |
So this isn’t really a race, but it still deserves a spot on my schedule. August will officially kick off my marathon training. I’m both excited and scared to death, what a great combo!
September
Source |
Yup, I’m going back to Philly for another race! I heard great things about this race last year so I’m looking forward to running through the streets of Philadelphia. I’ll also make sure to run up the Rocky steps as well 🙂
TBD: Bronx 10 Mile – Bronx, NY
Source |
For some reason the date for this race isn’t listed on the NYRR homepage, but it was in September last year so I’m assuming it will be the same for this year. This was another fun race full of great crowd support.
October
10/9: Staten Island Half Marathon – Staten Island, NY
Source |
I’ve never done this race before but I want to complete the Five Borough Series this year as one of my goals so I have added it to the list.
Source |
I wanted to do this race last year but I was in Pennsylvania for the Runner’s World Half and Festival. This race is literally a 15 or 20 minute drive from my house and it runs through a pretty awesome part of the city so I’m excited to add this race to my list.
November
Marathon Weekend!!!
11/5: NYRR Dash to the Finish Line 5K – New York, NY
Source |
11/6: TCS NYC Marathon – New York, NY

Well, this will be the weekend that will test me mentally and physically! I have done the NYRR Dash to the Finish Line 5K before and it’s super-duper fun. It will be a nice warm up run before the marathon the next day. Wish me luck!
What are your racing plans for 2016? I hope to see some of you at these races this year!

Looks like a great year of races for you! Mostly I'm jealous of that NYCM!! But you sure worked hard to get there. It's going to be an amazing experience.
I'm considering that RnR Chicago! I will keep you posted.

Yay for RnR Chicago! Even if you don't do the race I still want to meet up!
