Disclaimer: I am a 2018 ambassador for the Cleveland Marathon. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Do you have any big plans for today? I don’t really celebrate the holiday (being single and all), but I do want to share the love today by talking about the Cleveland Marathon AND offering a giveaway for a free race entry!
Why should you run the Cleveland Marathon?
You pick the race distance! Cleveland Marathon weekend will feature various race distances – 1 Mile, 5K, 8K, 10K, Half Marathon and Full Marathon. You can even “Pick 2” for the Challenge Series – 8K and Half Marathon, 8K and Marathon or 5K and 10K (I’ll be doing the 8K/Half Marathon). Participants in the challenge series will receive a lightweight hoodie and special medal.
Meet other bloggers and runners! The ambassador team for the Cleveland Marathon is pretty awesome! You might even recognize some names including myself and Rachel!
It’s a great Spring race! Now I’ve been told that Cleveland weather can be a little bit crazy, but race weekend is May 19-20 so hopefully it will be a nice race weekend without snow! The average high temperature in May in Cleveland is 69 degrees (low is 49 degrees). Also you have enough time to start training now 🙂
Generous course limits! I much prefer races that give runners ample time to finish. Not ever runner will be going for a PR so it’s nice not to feel “rushed”. The Cleveland Marathon offers for the following time limits per distance:
Marathon – 7 hours
Half Marathon – 4 hours
10K – 2.5 hours
8K – 1.75
5K – 1.5
Explore the city! I’ve been to Cleveland once and I was amazed at how much there was to do and see in the city. The Cleveland Marathon has a great list of restaurants in the area, as well as attractions.
Does all of this sound good to you? You don’t just have to just read about Cleveland, you can experience race weekend! Enter my giveaway below to win a free race entry (5K, 8K, 10K, Half Marathon or Marathon) for the Cleveland Marathon! Giveaway starts TODAY and ends on Tuesday, Feb 20th.
GOOD LUCK!
Not a winner? Use code KGCLE10 to save 10% of any race entry. I hope to see you on race weekend in May!

This sounds really good! I wish I lived closer! I especially like the generous course limits – really makes it a race for all levels.

Me too. I think the generous course limit really makes it open to runners of all levels.

Love this! I’ve never been to Cleveland but always wanted to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. 🙂
kookyrunner says
I’m hoping to check out the Hall of Fame while I’m there!

Oh that’s so exciting! Good luck in the giveaway!!

This is such a great race! I’d love to run it again! If I win an entry I’d probably run the half, but I really enjoyed the full last year (even in the rain) so maybe I’d run the full!
kookyrunner says
That’s awesome that you ran the full last year!
Good luck with the giveaway!

I love Cleveland Marathon! My first half was there in 2016, and another in 2017! Thinking of doing it again in 2018! Good luck to all the runners!
kookyrunner says
That’s awesome. If you win, you can go back to run it again. Good luck!!
Lyndsey says
I’d probably run the half…but I am “training” with a friend who is running the Canton marathon in March and am running 14 miles with her on Saturday so you never know….
kookyrunner says
Half marathon or full marathon, either race would be a great experience. Good luck!
Krista says
If I won I’d have to go big with the marathon
kookyrunner says
That’s awesome! Good luck! 🙂
Lesley says
I like that there are so many options. I would love to do some races, but they don’t have a 10k option. The jump from a 5k to a half marathon is quite a bit.
kookyrunner says
They have an 8K option is that’s of interest to you?
Julie G says
either the 10K or half marathon
kookyrunner says
good luck in the giveaway!
Stephanie O'Day says
I would probably pick the half!
kookyrunner says

I’m really looking forward to it!
