As I’ve mentioned before on this blog, I started to get serious about my running a little over a year ago. I really didn’t know anything about compression gear and how it helps runners. Actually that’s not 100% true. I did know that compression pants/capris/shorts helped reduce what I call the “butt jiggle”.
So you’re probably wondering…What makes these socks so different?
From the PRO Compression’s website –
Why PRO Compression Socks?
The benefit of wearing compression socks over 26.2 miles, 18 holes or 8 hours at work is the delay of muscular breakdown that comes from spending hours on your feet. PRO Compression works against gravity by helping your vascular system increase blood flow which relieves discomfort and assists in recovery. The minute you put them on, you’ll understand why PRO Compression socks are the World’s Best Athletic Performance Socks.
How do I use PRO Compression socks? I use the Over the Calf Compression socks for shorter runs (6 miles or less) and for recovery after a long run (anything over 6 miles). For example, after a half marathon or a long run, I put these on as soon as I get home and wear them most of the day. I really feel that these socks help aid in my recovery and ward off that “tired leg” feeling. I use the Trainer Low socks for most of my runs and also for some of my cross training activities, such as spinning and boot camp. They also great for walking. Their calf sleeves are great when you need extra support. I use the calf sleeves when my legs feel tired and it’s great to pair them up with the trainer low socks!
A brand new item to the PRO Compression website is the Reflective LED Armband. I just purchased these over the weekend so I haven’t tested them out yet, but these will be great to wear for any early morning or evening runs. It’s starting to get darker earlier here on the East Coast so I think I’ll get a lot of use from this new product!
PRO Compression is also very affordable! Let’s face it, running is the most expensive “free” sport in the world. Even though runners don’t need to buy equipment, we still buy fancy gadgets, running sneakers, clothing and some race fees can be pretty hefty. PRO Compression often offers coupon codes and free shipping in the U.S. on their items (for purchases $20 and above). In fact, PRO Compression just released their Sock of the Month for October today!
Disclosure – I am currently a PRO Compression ambassador but I was not paid nor did I receive free items for this post. All opinions are my own and I was rocking PRO Compression items before I became an ambassador! :)
