Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: What are you Fall running plans? Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post.
Orangetheory Hell Week (October 24-31)
Although not technically a “race”, it’s on my Fall schedule. This will be my 5th year participating in Hell Week, and yes, it’s as brutal as it seems. It’s 8 straight days of really intense classes. OTF pretty much makes each template as hard as possible and you have to complete 5 of the 8 classes to get your Hell Week shirt. In 2020 I did all 8 classes, but I don’t think I will ever do that again – it was rough! No clue why a shirt gives me incentive to do this to myself every year, lol. I haven’t seen this year’s shirt yet, but I know it’s going to be great!
2023 Harbor Point Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run (November 23)
This is the annual turkey trot that takes place in my city on Thanksgiving morning. This year I’m trying to get the whole family to do it – I even offered to walk the route – but so far my dad and sister have not shown any interest, lol. In the past I would go to OTF for a Thanksgiving morning burn but now that my favorite coach is no longer at the studio (she would normally teach the Thanksgiving classes) I don’t really feel a need to go.

Yes hell week does sound like hell. Lol. I’m so impressed that you can do it.
I’d love to have my family do a turkey trot. But no I’ll be alone again.
Obviously a marathon is the big one for me.
kookyrunner says
The marathon is a huge one for you – i look forward to cheering you on virtually!!

It looks like my fall running plans will be rehabbing my hamstring At least I can run a bit in the process.
I still haven’t gone back to OTF but I do miss Hell Week!
kookyrunner says
Take all the time you need to rehab your hamstring so you can come back to running injury-free! L(
Jenny says
Ooh, hell week does sound… hellish. I had to laugh- yes, why do we do these things to ourselves? Is the t shirt really worth it??? But, there’s something fun about a challenge.
The only race I’m planning right now for fall is the usual Turkey Trot. My husband and I will do it together. We always see families with kids, but my kids would NEVER get up early on Thanksgiving to run a race with us (the idea is actually laughable, sigh!)
kookyrunner says
It’s definitely hellish , but also a lot of fun because everyone in the classes is dying right along with you LOL
Kimberly Hatting says
Oops, just realized I forgot to mention my local turkey trot (that I help organize! LOL) on my blog post. I look forward to hearing about your Hell Week, each year! If I lived closer, I’d def be joining you 🙂
kookyrunner says
I love that you help to organize your local turkey trot every year!
Lacey@fairytalesandfitness says
I also plan to run a turkey trot over Thanksgiving! The orange theory sounds, could I say fun? Or maybe a cool different challenge. I love hearing about when friends go that week. I do not have an orange theory around me. I do plan to run monster mash 5k for Halloween.
kookyrunner says
OTF definitely always has a fun element to it even thought the workouts are intense lol
Deborah Brooks says
I am betting you can get the rest of your family on board! I am always so impressed with your OTF challenges
kookyrunner says
Yeah I plan on asking them at least once a week until they agree lol
Zenaida Arroyo says
You continue to impress me with Orangetheory and the classes you take. Are you doing the same with Peloton? There is still time for the 5k so I am sure you will get your whole family on board.
kookyrunner says
Yup – I’m still doing at least one Peloton class daily but the intensity has changed a bit. i don’t do as many boot camps now.
