Happy Sunday! As the title of this post suggests, there are 37 days until Fall and I really cannot wait. This was the week that I’ve just had it with the heat and humidity. My glasses shouldn’t fog up within 1 minute of me leaving the house – it’s so gross. Luckily I think Mother Nature sensed my frustration and gave us cooler weather this weekend – I was so appreciative of the break in humidity!
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, August 10
Peloton 2000s Ride 7/28/20 – Cody (30 minutes)
Peloton 90s Ride 8/8/20 – Cody (30 minutes)
Peloton 90s Run 7/15/20 – Jess (30 minutes)
I had a really hard time waking up on Monday morning. I decided to get an extra hour of sleep and do my workout in the afternoon – it was a good choice! Anyone that knows me knows that I love music, especially from the 90s and 2000s, so I really enjoyed all of these classes.
Tuesday, August 11
Peloton Disco Fun Walk 8/1/19 – Matty (30 minutes)
Peloton Pop Ride 1/11/20 – Cody (60 minutes)
Peloton Jhene Aiko Yoga Flow 5/27/20 – Anna (30 minutes)
I needed a day off from running so this was the perfect mix of workouts from me. The disco walk was super fun! I did this before going out to vote in the presidential primary. I believe that Connecticut was the last state to cast ballots, so it was really just a formality, but I still wanted to exercise my right to vote. When I got back home I did the pop ride. It’s weird – I don’t have any problem doing two 30 minute rides back to back but those 60 minute rides are rough! I spent some time on my yoga mat after class.
Wednesday, August 12
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
Peloton Hip Hop Run 8/3/20 – Chase (30 minutes)
Let me just say that these OTF endurance workouts are always hard, but they are super hard with a mask. The treadmill section was brutal but luckily the floor and rowing blocks weren’t too bad. I did a Hip Hop run later on in the afternoon and the playlist was AMAZING. I will probably repeat this class in the future.
Thursday, August 13
Peloton Prince Run 8/13/20 – Andy (30 minutes)
Peloton Prince Warm Up Ride 8/12/20 – Ally (5 minutes)
Peloton Prince Ride 8/12/20 – Ally & Emma (30 minutes)
Peloton Prince Arms Toning 8/12/20 – Ally (10 minutes)
Peloton Intervals & Arms Ride 8/13/20 – Cody (30 minutes)
I couldn’t take any of the Prince classes live, so I was happy I could take them on demand. This Prince stack of classes was really fun. I have no clue how Peloton got the okay to use his music, but I’m happy they did! The Intervals & Arms class was also my 300th cycle class! I knew I wanted to take class with my favorite instructor, Cody, for that milestone.
Friday, August 14
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (45 minutes)
Peloton Prince Full Body Strength 8/13/20 (30 minutes)
Peloton Prince Core Strength 8/14/20 – Emma (10 minutes)
Prince Yoga Flow 8/13/20 – Ross (30 minutes)
The OTF class was really good – I liked the entire format of the class and the treadmill block had a good amount of walking recoveries which is much appreciated since I wear a mask for those classes. When I got home from class I did the full body strength class. There were a lot of AMRAP sections which were hard, but fun. After work I did the core and yoga classes. It was a nice way to decompress.
Saturday, August 15
Peloton Y2K Pop Fun Run (Outdoor) 5/23/19 – Matty (30 minutes)
Peloton Hip Hop Fun Run (Outdoor) 6/20/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
Peloton 90s Bootcamp 8/15/20 – Jess (60 minutes)
It was the first morning all month that it didn’t feel like a sweaty sock or soup outside, so I had to take advantage! I did two Peloton outdoor runs, rested and re-fueled, and then took my normal #saturday60 bootcamp. I got in about 8.5 miles of running all together so all in all it was a good morning or workouts.
Sunday, August 16
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
Peloton Caribbean Fun Run 10/15/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
Peloton Dolly Parton Yoga Flow 6/24/20 – Kristin (30 minutes)
Another OTF endurance class. These types of classes are always hard, but they feel even harder with the mask. I’m not sure if I’ll ever get used to it! Since I’m trying to hit 100 miles this month, I added in a fun run after class to get in some more miles, grabbed some breakfast, and then did another yoga class. Of course I have to do modifications during the yoga classes, but it always provides a nice stretch.
Total Weekly Mileage: 24.5 miles
Summary: 10 runs*, 4 cycle, 1 bootcamp, 3 yoga and 5 OTF/strength/HITT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 115/124
Grade This Week β A
As I mentioned earlier, I was so happy for cooler temps this weekend. We really needed a break and I think it’s the first time in weeks we haven’t had to run our air conditioner. It’s nice to open the windows and get a breeze!
I only take the mask-required OTF classes so I’ve been testing out a few different ones over the past few weeks. Today I tested out the Body Helix Ultra-Light Face Mask and it worked pretty well. It didn’t pull on my ears, didn’t slip off my nose and it was super-light which made breathing a little easier. As some of you may know, I’m a BibRave Pro which means we get the opportunity to test out different products. As soon as this opportunity was presented, I signed up to test out the mask. I’m looking forward to trying it out for future runs as well.
One of my goals for August is to run 100 miles. I haven’t run 100 miles in a month since last Fall, but that makes sense because I haven’t actively trained for any races in months and I’ve been focusing more on cycle and strength training classes. I’m almost at 48 miles for the month so I think that I can hit this goal if I stay consistent with my running over the next 2 weeks.
…and now for this week’s meme collection..
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Ha always love your memes! You sure crushed it with the Peloton workouts this week. I loved the Prince classes as well. Need to do the yoga one as well. I am also eagerly awaiting fall! October is usually my favorite weather month. Have a great week and thanks for linking up!
kookyrunner says
The Prince classes were fun this week – I especially liked the cycle class. October and December are probably my favorite months of the year.
Coco says
I canβt believe how much you double up runs and bootcamps and OTFβgreat work, Kim! We had a cool morning today, but it was raining. Hopefully tomorrow it will be really nice.
I canβt imagine working out in a mask. I can barely stand it for grocery shopping, but Iβm sure a good one would make all the difference.
kookyrunner says
I try to plan out my workouts for the week so that I’m pretty even between everything but it doesn’t always workout that way, lol.
Working out in a mask takes some getting used to, but it’s really not too bad in OTF. I’ll admit that it’s hard on the treadmill but I can control my breathing easier on the rower and floor.
Wendy says
I just love your memes!
What a great week of workouts. Glad you got some cooler weather so you could have a decent run. Fall is around the corner–I’m not sure if I’m excited or scared!
kookyrunner says
I’m excited for Fall weather but 2020 always seems to have something waiting around the corner so I won’t get too excited just yet.
Cari says
One of my friends just took a job working at the Prince museum — I”m not a mega fan, but I can’t wait to see her / the museum when travel is a thing.I feel like we’ve probably had this conversation before — but there was a great Songza playlist “90s school dance” that I wish I could get for my run playlist because 90s music was The Best.
I’m with you on the weather. I was just DONE by Thursday. Glad for this reprieve. I napped without even my fan on!
Cari says
oh and my kingdom for a mask that fits with my headphones and glasses.
kookyrunner says
Yes, and I’ll try it with my glasses when I go for a run π I’ve heard that it doesn’t cause glasses to fog so that’s a huge plus!
Cari says
yeah not fogging is great. I was sitting on my stoop earlier and between humidity fog and mask fog it was not the chill reading spot I wanted.
Someone suggested threading the mask around the glasses stems, but haven’t tried that
kookyrunner says
A job at the Prince museum sounds pretty cool! I can only imagine the types of things they have on display.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
Your memes continue to make me chuckle – 2020 as a swear word sounds just about right! π
Another awesome week for you – sounds like you are on pace for your mileage goal. I also love to see which Pelothon classes you’ve taken…always gives me ideas for the upcoming week.
kookyrunner says
I will now reference 2020 as a swear word and I’m sure that people will understand exactly what I mean, lol.
I’m happy I can give you some ideas for Peloton classes! I feel like there are SO many that when I come across a really good one, I like to call it out!
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
I cannot wait for fall running! This summer stuff is a load of 2020!
kookyrunner says
Fall running cannot come quick enough!
Marcia says
Great job on all the workouts!
Omg the memes are the best part of this year, I swear! I will say that socially distant concert in the UK looks fabulous!
kookyrunner says
I am ALL about that socially distanced concert in the UK. If that’s the new normal for concerts, count me in!
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
I love that you know how many days there are until fall! The humidity has been rough this summer. I feel like many years it stays so warm well into October so I am sort of preparing myself for that. Great memes once again!!
kookyrunner says
I’m hoping that we get an early Fall because the thought of this humidity lasting into October makes me sad, lol.
Shathiso says
Haha!! Thanks for those memes – hard to imagine how different life looks now than it did in 2019! I think you’ve got that 100 mile goal. You’re about half way with half a month to go! It’s hard to hit high mileage when you’re not training for something.
kookyrunner says
The 2019 restaurant photo made me lol. I can’t wait until we can go back to inside dining safely. In CT we can dine inside at limited capacity but I’m still not comfortable doing that right now!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
I saw some of those memes online this week! I especially liked the 2020 logo one. π
You had a great week, Kim! Enjoy our few days of lower temps & humidity –we earned it!
My walk yesterday was masked. Even that feels hard!
kookyrunner says
I really enjoyed the new 2020 logo as well, lol!
I’m looking forward to the cooler weather because I think that will make make the masked walks a little more tolerable. It’s so heard to have the mask on when the humidity is 1000%!
Zenaida Arroyo says
Wasn’t that Prince Ride awesome! It enjoyed it so much that I want to take it again. So far that has been the best playlist.
Those memes are hilarious! Here in IL the school districts will not allow pajamas for online classes. Umm, I have a problem with that one because I don’t think it matters. As long as my students are not in bed, then I don’t care what they are wearing. I am more concerned with them actually showing up, participating, and doing the assignments.
kookyrunner says
I enjoyed the Prince ride! You can tell that they both worked really hard on it, especially the beginning part.
I’m with you about the pajamas, I don’t think it matters if the kids wear pajamas as long as they log on and do their work.
Jessie says
What a fun week of workouts! The 100 mile goal sounds like a good one. Fall is the BEST too for a running goal.
OMG, the “old” picture of people eating a restaurant…how our world has changed so quickly…
kookyrunner says
You have a good point – I probably should have made the 100 mile goal in October, not August, lol. Thank goodness for the treadmill!
Darlene S Cardillo says
No No don’t count down until fall. The days will be getting shorter!!!!!!!
Great active week for you. This week is cooler. You will love that.
kookyrunner says
That’s the one thing I don’t like – the shorter days. It’s no fun when it gets dark outside at 5pm π
Chaitali says
Sounds like a great week of workouts! I loved the Prince classes too, they were so much fun π
kookyrunner says
The Prince classes were all very fun – I even enjoyed the yoga class a lot too!
Liz Dexter says
Glad you got to run outside. It’s been gross here, too, Sunday was ho rr ible and I was running in the middle of the day as I went to a friend’s house to meet her and another friend (in their garden) I was so so soooooo sweaty when I got home – after 3.5 miles! Hope things cool down a bit for you.
kookyrunner says
Sorry it’s so warm there for you too π So far this week has been just a little bit cooler and less humidity so I’ll take it!
Jenn says
You had a really great variety of workouts this week! It’s been super gross here, too, with lots of humidity. We will have fall at some point. Maybe.
kookyrunner says
Today it’s around 65 with low humidity and this is my perfect weather. If summer could be like this I’d have to problem with it lol
Kimberly Hatting says
Sorry Iβm so late commenting…still no internet (ugh), but thatβs post-derecho life LOL I love seeing all your workouts! Iβm glad you enjoyed a well-deserved break in the weather π
kookyrunner says
LoL, no worries! I’m glad that your power/internet is finally back!
San says
Dang girl, you’re checking off the Peloton classes.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! Most of them are fun which makes the time go by quicker.
