Happy Friday! I’m almost in disbelief that 2019 is coming to a close, but here we are! I know that for most people the focus this month is to start planning their goals for the following year, but I always believe in ending the year strong!
First, let’s take a look at my goals from November:
Get my nutrition back on track
Grade: B
Definitely still a work in progress! I did better with my meal choices this month and then Thanksgiving went from one day to a weekend full of excess so now it’s time to get back on track!
Start planning my 2020 race calendar
Grade: B
I haven’t officially registered for any 2020 races yet, but I did start pulling lists of races in different states. I’m for sure going to do the Detroit Free Press Half Marathon in October.
Start holiday shopping
Grade: A
I’m pretty much done with my holiday shopping! I enjoyed shopping online on Black Friday to score some great deals. I’ll probably try to finish up the rest of my shopping next week.
Here are my goals for December!
Re-adjust my workout schedule
I’m currently in the middle of “12 Days of Fitness” at OrangeTheory Fitness, but after that’s over next week, I want to re-adjust my workout schedule. I’ve been heavy on OTF the past 2 weeks because of two different challenges, but I want to make sure I have days dedicated just to running and spinning.
Bring some holiday cheer to my office
My office definitely needs a bit of holiday cheer! There’s been some sad things that have happened recently and morale has been down, so I’m hoping I can bring some positive energy to the office. Our company luncheon is on Tuesday afternoon so hopefully that will be a good start point.
Do a pantry/freezer challenge
This month I really want to work on cleaning out my pantry/freezer. Not only is this a great way to save money, but also a great way to NOT be wasteful. There’s nothing worse that throwing out limp vegetables or having an unidentifiable meat item in the back of your freezer. Also, this will help me come up with brand new meal ideas!
That’s it for this month – wish me luck!
If you set monthly goals, what are your goals for December?
I’m linking up for Fridays with Fairytales and Fitness from Fairytales and Fitness.

My goals for December are to break the cycle of tv snacking. I’m not going to deprive myself of holiday treats, but I don’t need to get into my husband’s box of holiday Cheese-Itz. 🙂
kookyrunner says
Ugh I’m so bad at mindless TV snacking. That needs to be a goal of mine too!
Catrina says
Great goals! I especially like your freezer/pantry challenge. I am very anti-waste myself and have organized my life in way that I never have to throw food out.
My goal for December is to be able to do 30 perfect push-ups. I am at 6 right now so way to go… 😉
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I haven’t done a pantry/freezer challenge in a while so it’s long overdue!
Kimberly Hatting says
I did a major pantry clean out recently, but my freezer is another story. The hubby found several bags of fruit, so he’s been working on his smoothie skills. But…. there’s so much more (cue the Jaws music)….
kookyrunner says
Well it’s good that all the fruit is being put to good use!
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
Your pantry/freezer challenge is a great idea! Both of mine are in desperate need of clearing – who knows what I will find!
Great to hear you’re definitely in for the Detroit Free Press – it’s on my list of options for a fall half!
kookyrunner says
That would be so cool if you also did the Detroit race! 🙂
Elaine D says
Amazing you’re done with Christmas shopping! That’s my goal for the coming week. And I’m doing RW running streak to get me jump started with running more consistently again.
kookyrunner says
Love that you’re doing the RW running streak!
Wendy says
I love your goals! Holiday shopping has been pathetic–I did score a few deals on Cyber Monday, but I’ve got some serious work to do. I’ve been loving your holiday shirts–they’ve put a smile on my sad face! Keep it coming, my friend!
kookyrunner says
So glad that you are enjoying the holiday shirts from my OTF workouts! 🙂
Farrah says
Best of luck to you on your goals! I’m still trying to work out a reasonable/realistic workout schedule right now, haha–there are just too many things I wanna do!! I need to clean out the pantry/freezer/house in general!!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Farrah!
Yes, it’s so hard to put together a workout schedule when you love so many things!
Marcia says
I’m still “recovering” from Thanksgiving as well. Even though I sent much of the food home with our guests, I still ate way too many leftovers and it killed my healthy eating momentum, if that makes any sense. Eating out a ton doesn’t help either.
That sweater is sure to bring some light, holiday cheer to your office!
kookyrunner says
I totally understand because my desire to eat healthy at the moment is at about 30% lol. I’m definitely getting back on track starting tomorrow though.
Angela says
I love that you do this each month! I keep saying that I am going to do it too, but forget!! Ok…January here I come with some goals!! I like the idea of the freezer/pantry challenge!
kookyrunner says
Thanks! It’s the main way I can keep myself accountable 🙂
Chocolaterunsjudy says
All great goals, Kim! I’m working on the rest of the house right now — although our tiny pantry needs some attention, too.
I keep thinking I really need to relax some, I’ll just do a couple of minutes of decluttering and 2 hours later . . .
kookyrunner says
Hahaha that’s how it always goes for me too. Once I start I can’t stop.
Deborah @ Confessions of mother runner says
it is a struggle for me to eat well this time of the year. You seem like the perfect person to bring a little holiday cheer to your office
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I’m hoping it goes over well. The office definitely needs some holiday cheer.
Fairytales and Fitness says
Sorry for the sad times at your office but I think that sweater will definitely bring some cheer! Kudos to you on having a good handle on your shopping. I do not and I am getting nervous about it! I know we have time but I hate waiting till the last minute. Especially now that Christmas parties and gift exchanges are starting to happen this week! -M
kookyrunner says
You still have time to get in your holiday shopping – don’t worry! 🙂
Jenn says
I love that workout template!
My goals for December? Don’t go crazy from laying around and kick butt at PT, when it starts. It’s all I’ve got going for me.
kookyrunner says
Right?! I love the template too – so nice and easy to read!
Denise @ runheartfit says
Great sweater! I love the pom poms.
I need to clean out my freezer too. I keep talking about it but haven’t tackled it yet. Ugh!
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I’m looking forward to wearing it this week.
