It’s almost Halloween, but more importantly, I cannot believe that October is almost over! The holidays are quickly approaching!
It’s easy to enjoy Halloween candy – let’s face it, who doesn’t like chocolate?! If you are currently in training, as many runners are since it’s marathon season, you may not want to derail your diet and exercise by eating an entire bag of Kit-Kats. But what you CAN do it swap those tempting treats with a better option.
I have a yearly subscription with BuluBox, so I get a package from them every month. This month’s package had a great handout called ‘Candy Bar Swap’. It shows alternatives to popular types of candy given out on Halloween. My favorite swap is choosing a Cookies & Cream Quest Bar instead of a Hershey’s Cookies n’ Cream candy bar. You save 19 grams of sugar and gain 18 grams of protein! That’s a win-win in my book. Did I mention that Quest bars are delicious?!
