Happy Friday! As usual, since it’s the last Friday of the month, I’m linking up with Marcia from Marcia’s Healthy Slice for Runfessions. Let’s get this party started!
I runfess that I’m excited for the Fall television season
Usually the Fall television season starts in September but of course it’s been pushed back by a few weeks this year. Totally understandable, but I’m happy that some of my favorite television shows are back for a new season. ‘This is Us’ premiered this week and it was amazing as always – it’s one of my favorite shows on TV. I don’t want a lot of TV, but I do have a few favorite shows – This is Us, Law & Order SVU and Grey’s Anatomy to name a few.
I runfess that Hell Week is kicking my butt
I’m 6 days into Hell Week with only 2 more days to go, thank goodness! While I love a challenge, this was pretty brutal. The classes are extra hard and my legs are killing me for the crazy amount of lunges and squats I’ve done since Saturday. The one good thing about Hell Week is that it felt familiar since I did it last year. It was nice to have something ‘normal’ to focus on this year since so many things have changed this year.
I runfess that I’m not in the holiday spirit
I’m not surprised to see Christmas ads and movies on TV this early, because that seems to happen year, but I just have no holiday spirit right now. The world feels so heavy, especially with the upcoming election, that it makes it hard to get bright and cheery for the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. If you have any suggestions on how to get in the holiday spirit, let me know!
I runfess that I am thinking of changing up my work from home space
Since I’m now working from home permanently, I think I want to change up my WFH space to make it a little bit more inviting. I don’t want to spend a bunch of money and do a huge project, but there are a few small things I can do to make it better. I’m actually going back to our old office next Friday to pick up all my stuff which is nice because then I can decorate my WFH space with stuff from my office cubicle.
That’s it for this month – thanks for reading my runfessions! I hope that you have a great weekend!
Do you have anything you want to runfess for October?
Catrina says
I think it’s a great idea to change up your WFH space! Some decorations will make it cosier for sure.
Do you have a good desk and chair?
I was so happy when I got a desk that I could convert into a standing desk. It made a huge difference.
kookyrunner says
That’s what I’m hoping! Now that it’s permanent, I need to make sure I enjoy the space.
Marcia says
Definitely freshen up your space! It’ll do wonders for your frame of mind. I’ve been seeing people buying stocking stuffers already and that hasn’t even occurred to me. Haha! I agree it is such a heavy time. And I fear that whatever outcome we get from the election will result in a civil war. Ugh. Hang in there.
kookyrunner says
I actually received the Target holiday toy catalog in the mail on Wednesday and I was like, “why?”. I’m hoping as we get closer to Thanksgiving I’ll be more in the spirit.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
I think it’s a great idea to redecorate your WFH space a bit – a change of scenery is always a good thing!
I hear you on the holidays – I’m so stressed out over what the election and weeks following will bring. Heavy times for sure.
kookyrunner says
Same! Even if the election results are positive, I still feel like I’m gonna be stressed out.
Deborah Brooks says
I think it will nice to update your home space so it’s more inviting. It is a little hard to get into the holiday spirit this year but I am going to try. I am excited for new TV shows to come back too!
kookyrunner says
yeah I’m thinking of getting a different desk and maybe some artwork because right now it looks a little ‘blah’
Darlene S Cardillo says
Yeah I’m pretty sick of my workspace I have the internet on one wall and I plug directly into the modem so I feel stuck.
We have the same favorite shows. LOVE This is Us!!
kookyrunner says
I’m think of getting some artwork to liven up my workspace – maybe you can do the same!
Kimberly Hatting says
Yes to the home office re-do! Even a few brightly-colored items can make a huge difference in lifting one’s spirits. As for the body soreness, we’re #kimtwinning on this LOL Yesterday’s stair/lower-body extravaganza has me DOMS’ing all over the place. I blame all those weighted walking lunges….
kookyrunner says
Walking lunges and squats always result in DOMS for me!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
When I did WFH, I had to share the space a bit with Mr. Judy. Now we share the desktop (which was probably not my wisest decision, but it was a while ago).
I absolutely think you should do whatever makes you feel comfortable there!
We like to watch a couple of shows a night. Mr. Judy would like to watch a movie (or more than 1), but I find it’s easier to watch an hour & a half of TV than 2 or more.
kookyrunner says
For some reason I find it harder to sit down to watch movies – I think my attention span is short so sitting for 2 or more hours isn’t great for me, lol.
Jessie says
Great idea to spruce up the home office! I did that quite a bit in the beginning, but could even now use some more things to make it cozy. post some before and after pics!
kookyrunner says
I’ll try to remember to take before and after photos!
Wendy says
I don’t know how I’d feel about permanently working from home. I sure do love my coworkers!
kookyrunner says
I’m not the most social person in the world but not interacting with people everyday is definitely starting to get to me a bit!
Jenn says
Grumpy cat is always awesome.
I’m feeling very much ready for the holiday season. It’s just something to look forward to, I think.
Can’t wait to see what you do with your WFH space! Tis the season for home renovations!
kookyrunner says
Anything with grumpy cat always makes me laugh, lol.
Laurie says
I used to watch This Is Us all the time and I sort of got out of the habit. I think I am going to ask hubby to stream it with me and watch all of the episodes from the very beginning. We are really in need of something new to watch these days.
Good luck with Hell Week!
kookyrunner says
Sometimes the subject matter can be pretty deep, but it’s such a well written show!
Coco says
I’m excited for Gray’s Anatomy! It was fun watching the ABC comedies again. I’m not sure if I prefer the ones that reflect life in pandemic times or ignore it. The one seems too heavy, but the other seems odd too. You are crushing Hell Week! That will be a t-shirt to wear with pride.
kookyrunner says
I watch The Conners and they are tackling the pandemic but I think they have done a good job so far of balancing comedy with the seriousness of everything.
I’m looking forward to wearing my Hell Week shirt to class on Wednesday!
Montana @ Pretty Lil Mudder says
I easily get into the holiday spirit for Halloween because its my favorite holiday but Christmas is a bit harder for me. I think I’m just especially jaded due to working in retail for so long. It was forced on us for so long that it caused me to kind of hate it lol.
Hell Week sounds brutal! Great job pushing through! I was looking forward to it but of course ended up injured so no Hell Week for me. ;-/
kookyrunner says
You have been killing all of your Halloween costumes this week! I totally understand what you mean about Christmas. It took me a few years after leaving retail to enjoy the holiday again.
Anne says
So smart to spiff up your work space. I can’t quite figure out what to do with mine… What did you wind up doing? Maybe it’ll inspire me. 😉
I should go in and retrieve more stuff now that I know I’m WFH at least through August.
Hope you survived the rest of hell week!
kookyrunner says
I haven’t done anything yet – just still researching artwork, rugs and desks. I’ll try to remember to take before and after photos!
