Tuesday Topics: Let’s Go Streaking!

Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: FREE! Since this week is a free topic, I decided to highlight a few different streaks taking place the last month of the year. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post.

I always like to end the year strong, so that’s why I was happy to see a few different streaking options for December. I’m not a fan of the traditional run streaks, but over the years I’ve found a few other types of streaks that are hard but enjoyable (and not so taxing on my legs)! Here are a few that streaks starting soon.

#3for31

One of the Peloton instructors, Robin Arzon, is doing a #3for31 challenge for the month of December. Here are the details:

“Walk, jog, or run 3 miles every day. That’s 6,000 steps. You can track this on your phone’s health app or a fitness wearable OR move for 30 min a day. That’s it, no rules. This can be on the Bike, Tread, mat, or on foot and it doesn’t need to be all at once. If you’re able to move 15 min in the morning and 15 min at night, that works!”

I love the flexibility of this challenge!

Winter #RWRunStreak

The traditional Runner’s World RunStreak started on Thanksgiving Day. The goal is to run at least 1 mile per day until January 1. I personally don’t do this streak but I know a lot of runners that participate in it every year.

#24DaysofHustle Advent Calendar Challenge

Another Peloton related challenge! Stay Home Stay Motivated (SHSM) is a great group in the Peloton community and they are all about uplifting each other. It’s a nice, no drama group. From December 1-24, members will access the special website to unveil the merry wellness challenge of the day! This is accessible to everyone, as the challenges are bite-sized and can be done without any equipment. Today is the last day to register!

These are just a few ways to go streaking in December, but I’m sure there are many more challenges out there for December. If you know of any, leave the information in the comments section!

Tell me: Are you ending the year with a streak?

    These are fabulous ideas, Kim!
I especially like the 3 miles a day challenge by Robin Arzon. She’s right, walking or running 3 miles a day isn’t much and very doable.
I aim for at least 10’000 steps a day. On a Sunday, when I don’t go running, I often have to intentionally go out and get those steps done.

I agree! I really like the #3for31 challenge because she makes it an obtainable goal for everyone, and it’s an awesome way to keep your body moving as it gets colder outside.

I’m not a streaker and especially not this year! I like the options that Peloton is giving you, tho! Good luck!

WOOT!!!! Being a newbie to the Peloton world, I had not heard of those streaks, but they sound great! You know I already love Robin 😉 You already know I’m a winter streaker, and this year I have a few friends who joined me…I’m actually more excited for them than myself!

Well, my base step goal is 8k steps. There are some days I don’t meet it, but few & far between and most days I exceed it. Sometimes 3 x, LOL!

Thanks for sharing all the alternative streaks, Kim — I like that most aren’t just running.

I used to aim for 10K steps a day, but now I try to focus on activity and try to get in at least 60 minutes a day. It’s so hard for me now to get 10K steps on days I don’t run because I sit a lot working from home and don’t really get any steps when I do cycle or strength classes.

Not a exercise streaker. But I read every day.

Great ideas. If I didn’t work I think I could do one.

I’ve never done a streak. If I didn’t have to be to work at 0600 twice a week I might try one.

It’s so hard to do any type of streak when you have to be at work super early!

At my age my body values recovery and repair days too much to do any sort of run streak. I’m sure back in the day I would have happily jumped on the bandwagon!

I have never done a streak and I think it will not be an option in my future because, getting older, I need to rest between a workout and another.
Moreover just now I don’t feel good and the only possible streak is ….. other 7 days of rest and recover.

I just finished my yoga streak and really loved it. Streaking is a great way to stay motivated and also makes everything more fun! Maybe I should start a new one- I have a day to decide if I want to start December 1st!

I’m not a streaker! I think I tried one year and quickly learned that my legs don’t handle running back to back very well lol. I might have done Robin’s streak way back when she first shared it back in 2018. It’s a great way to keep moving as it’s easy to get stuck in the lulls of the holidays!

Run streaking does not agree with my body LOL I love the flexibility of Robin’s #3for31 and am looking forward to doing that one! I’m also doing the #FFHolidayChallenge hosted by Fellow Flowers – 30 mins of movement/daily from Thanksgiving to New Year’s.
